00:00:04   the Intolerable number 307 july 2016 [TS]

00:00:13   welcome back to being comfortable rocket [TS]

00:00:17   surgery where we watching a movie that [TS]

00:00:19   is a sort of dubious value and merit and [TS]

00:00:22   that that ubs didn't like we go decade [TS]

00:00:26   by decade and we've chosen the decade [TS]

00:00:28   we're in now which means world culpable [TS]

00:00:30   i guess in a sense for being [TS]

00:00:31   contemporaries of cool cat saves the [TS]

00:00:35   kids a direct-to-video educational film [TS]

00:00:39   sort of by a gentleman named Eric savage [TS]

00:00:43   and it is a amazing it is amazing i'm [TS]

00:00:48   just gonna say good good movie right up [TS]

00:00:50   front [TS]

00:00:51   yeah a good movie i sorta like a final [TS]

00:00:54   judgment in quicksand stupendously good [TS]

00:00:56   good [TS]

00:00:57   joining joining me to talk about this [TS]

00:00:59   latest in our series of rocket surgery [TS]

00:01:01   movies the following steve lets hello [TS]

00:01:22   lines from the movie I I just would like [TS]

00:01:24   to point out when i recommend on things [TS]

00:01:26   for old movie club if you people [TS]

00:01:28   ditching me for like making you watch [TS]

00:01:31   lion in winter I never make you watch [TS]

00:01:35   kool Kat shoot the shoe is on the other [TS]

00:01:37   fit foot now [TS]

00:01:39   yes it is and it pinches uh-huh and and [TS]

00:01:43   i'm the host of the show and now i feel [TS]

00:01:45   like i need to introduce my final guest [TS]

00:01:47   so that's what i'm about to do but [TS]

00:01:48   haven't described it out loud it's brian [TS]

00:01:51   able to lose i'm going to about to [TS]

00:01:53   introduce but I haven't introduced him [TS]

00:01:54   yet but now i'm going to brian hamilton [TS]

00:01:56   welcome [TS]

00:01:57   it's a podcast i can take it to school [TS]

00:01:59   and take everyone's lunch money always [TS]

00:02:02   gonna be fat time for you shut it [TS]

00:02:04   bonehead [TS]

00:02:05   so let's explain kool Kat can we uh [TS]

00:02:08   oh I was certainly no mission fail [TS]

00:02:11   there's a guy named Eric savage he has [TS]

00:02:13   an interesting web page where you can [TS]

00:02:14   discover things like that he was a he [TS]

00:02:17   appeared in a an issue of playgirl at [TS]

00:02:19   some point he has a series of books [TS]

00:02:21   including books featuring kool Kat he [TS]

00:02:24   has some other merchandise as well that [TS]

00:02:26   he's selling but he decided to make a [TS]

00:02:28   feature-length film if an hour and 15 [TS]

00:02:31   minutes crosses the bar about about [TS]

00:02:35   using his character cool cat who has [TS]

00:02:36   appeared in some illustrated books i [TS]

00:02:38   guess that he that he wrote and cool cat [TS]

00:02:41   saves the kids is the result it was a [TS]

00:02:44   trailer was released and i have no idea [TS]

00:02:46   who sent me the trailer when it came out [TS]

00:02:49   but i have watched that trailer like 50 [TS]

00:02:51   times and it makes me cry with laughter [TS]

00:02:53   it is so bizarre and badly edited and [TS]

00:02:56   just amazing and i thought to myself i [TS]

00:02:58   don't want to watch cool cat saves the [TS]

00:03:00   kids the full 75 minutes because it's [TS]

00:03:03   just it cannot be as funny nor as [TS]

00:03:06   incompetent as the trailer and I'm here [TS]

00:03:08   to tell you ladies and gentlemen I [TS]

00:03:10   couldn't have been more wrong you're [TS]

00:03:12   wrong needed spectacular leave more of [TS]

00:03:15   what was in the trailer it is war of [TS]

00:03:17   what was in the trailer it is so [TS]

00:03:19   incompetent it actually goes around the [TS]

00:03:22   that they're the insert navigates the [TS]

00:03:24   globe it actually reaches an event [TS]

00:03:26   horizon of competence that you youyou [TS]

00:03:30   this looks like a movie but it [TS]

00:03:33   something's off horribly off this movie [TS]

00:03:36   makes tommy was a look like Orson [TS]

00:03:38   freaking wells [TS]

00:03:39   hi I'm just gonna say it it's so bad [TS]

00:03:41   movies you know there are there are [TS]

00:03:42   movies that are made by professionals [TS]

00:03:44   and they go wrong and then there are [TS]

00:03:45   movies that are made by people who it [TS]

00:03:47   you know it's not true but it appears [TS]

00:03:50   like they've never seen a movie and I [TS]

00:03:52   recall them describing the the flophouse [TS]

00:03:54   described faithful findings that way [TS]

00:03:56   which is an amazingly bizarre movie that [TS]

00:03:58   i recommend you see if you would like to [TS]

00:04:00   see pictures of people's feet and it was [TS]

00:04:04   this movie is like that [TS]

00:04:06   let's clarify this is not porn it's not [TS]

00:04:09   know the movie is based on the book [TS]

00:04:11   kool Kat stops bullying which sounds to [TS]

00:04:13   me like kool Kat was bullying people and [TS]

00:04:16   has decided to stop and warm [TS]

00:04:18   yeah so it is an educational film [TS]

00:04:21   innocence that there are some messages [TS]

00:04:23   that trying to get a cut across to teach [TS]

00:04:24   kids they do this by explaining the a [TS]

00:04:27   message immediately acting it out and [TS]

00:04:31   then explaining that they just acted it [TS]

00:04:32   out and this happens many times or [TS]

00:04:35   they'll explain a message immediately do [TS]

00:04:36   the exact opposite and then explain it [TS]

00:04:39   again which they do three separate times [TS]

00:04:41   that if that is true so it is a [TS]

00:04:43   spectacular spectacular thing of it i [TS]

00:04:47   think many of these movies that that [TS]

00:04:49   wrap all the way around his Phil said [TS]

00:04:51   come from you know there's just it's a [TS]

00:04:54   guy with a vision and he's gonna make [TS]

00:04:55   his movie and he doesn't maybe know [TS]

00:04:57   anything about actual filmmaking but [TS]

00:05:00   he's going to figure it out to get his [TS]

00:05:02   thing out there into the world and so [TS]

00:05:04   you see it with tommy wiseau and you see [TS]

00:05:06   it with a with the guy from faithful [TS]

00:05:09   findings of neoprene Christina brings up [TS]

00:05:11   no relation brother know later brothers [TS]

00:05:14   are usually related but he's never seen [TS]

00:05:17   him in the same place at once and it is [TS]

00:05:19   true with the Derek Savage who is the [TS]

00:05:21   visionary who brought us cool cat so [TS]

00:05:23   should we should we should I walk [TS]

00:05:24   through the storyline be deep luxurious [TS]

00:05:28   storyline of cool we do I i want to [TS]

00:05:31   point out two things ok false statement [TS]

00:05:33   i'm going to call this your opening [TS]

00:05:34   statement [TS]

00:05:35   sure okay why not if you are a child and [TS]

00:05:37   you've been presented this movie as a [TS]

00:05:39   film educational film of some kind take [TS]

00:05:42   everything that is said in this movie [TS]

00:05:44   and do exactly the opposite because [TS]

00:05:45   these messages are you wrong [TS]

00:05:48   oh yeah i mean what we'll get to that [TS]

00:05:50   when we get there but cool captives [TS]

00:05:52   terrible advice [TS]

00:05:53   one of these things will get you beaten [TS]

00:05:55   some might get you killed [TS]

00:05:58   I it's a bad idea to follow any cool [TS]

00:06:00   cats advice in any one cool cat is a [TS]

00:06:02   terrible role model for one second we [TS]

00:06:06   should be aware that the film that we [TS]

00:06:08   are reviewing I guess I could say there [TS]

00:06:10   will be going through tonight is [TS]

00:06:12   actually the the director's cut of [TS]

00:06:15   sorties special edition that was recut [TS]

00:06:19   by Derek savage after the original was [TS]

00:06:21   savaged by various youtube savaged by [TS]

00:06:24   Derek I was going to say was their [TS]

00:06:26   studio interference reply yes [TS]

00:06:29   you ruined my vision [TS]

00:06:30   but basically what happened is the first [TS]

00:06:32   one we got some notoriety because it was [TS]

00:06:34   largely because of that wonderful [TS]

00:06:36   wonderful trailer which is probably the [TS]

00:06:38   best two-and-a-half minutes ever put to [TS]

00:06:40   any kind of a film medium digital or [TS]

00:06:42   otherwise and in various youtube [TS]

00:06:46   reviewer types laid into it and one in [TS]

00:06:49   particular you your your movie sucks i [TS]

00:06:51   think pointed out many of the things [TS]

00:06:53   that kool Kat was doing and saying that [TS]

00:06:57   are 180 degrees from what should [TS]

00:06:59   actually be done and or said and several [TS]

00:07:02   instances where kool Kat did exactly the [TS]

00:07:04   opposite of what he suggested should be [TS]

00:07:05   done mere moments before and so I was [TS]

00:07:08   surprised having watched that before [TS]

00:07:10   seeing this film when we watch this that [TS]

00:07:12   several of those things have have been [TS]

00:07:14   fixed at this point yes you can tell [TS]

00:07:16   because cool cats voice which is [TS]

00:07:18   initially throughout this so let me [TS]

00:07:20   explain kool Kat is basically a man in a [TS]

00:07:22   suit [TS]

00:07:22   it is a mascot essentially acting [TS]

00:07:25   throughout and i believe his dialogue [TS]

00:07:27   throughout the film is largely just a [TS]

00:07:29   man shouting through his suit picked up [TS]

00:07:32   your microphone believe his microphone [TS]

00:07:33   is actually directly outside of his mask [TS]

00:07:36   so that it there are several occasions [TS]

00:07:38   where he touches his chest and you hear [TS]

00:07:39   an audible pump they did not did not go [TS]

00:07:42   into the the sound studio and loop it [TS]

00:07:44   afterwards it was not it it is not [TS]

00:07:46   dubbed in know because his mother is [TS]

00:07:48   dubbed in and it's very obvious and the [TS]

00:07:50   parts where they've realized the [TS]

00:07:52   dialogue to try and address issues [TS]

00:07:55   brought up by reviewers is also audibly [TS]

00:07:59   different than the rest of the kool Kat [TS]

00:08:01   the kool Kat dialogue but sees seems [TS]

00:08:03   right [TS]

00:08:04   uh I think have to put that on the pilot [TS]

00:08:06   not only is this a movie that seems to [TS]

00:08:07   have been made by a person who doesn't [TS]

00:08:10   really understand how movies work in any [TS]

00:08:12   anyway but it also seems to be somebody [TS]

00:08:16   who while well-meaning about wanting to [TS]

00:08:19   educate kids seems to not understand [TS]

00:08:22   lots of things that are important to [TS]

00:08:24   teach kids and tells teaches them the [TS]

00:08:27   wrong things to be minimally fair to [TS]

00:08:30   Derek savage this is three separate [TS]

00:08:32   videos that have been crudely stitched [TS]

00:08:34   together languages we explain some of [TS]

00:08:37   the story problems [TS]

00:08:39   Sam us but not all so there's two ways [TS]

00:08:42   that you can look at this recut [TS]

00:08:43   to fix things uh the charitable thing to [TS]

00:08:47   think about this is that this is proof [TS]

00:08:50   that the derrick savage really is is it [TS]

00:08:53   has heart in the right place and he's [TS]

00:08:55   genuinely trying to make a film that [TS]

00:08:57   will teach kids to do the right thing in [TS]

00:08:59   situations where they're being bullied [TS]

00:09:00   or run across a gun or whatever and so [TS]

00:09:02   it was important to him that he you know [TS]

00:09:05   actually say things that are reasonable [TS]

00:09:07   and accurate [TS]

00:09:08   the other thing you can say is that this [TS]

00:09:10   might be the single most incompetent [TS]

00:09:11   thing that he's done because he's [TS]

00:09:14   selling these things to people that want [TS]

00:09:15   to watch this train wreck in its [TS]

00:09:17   original trainwreck form and if UD train [TS]

00:09:19   recognize it [TS]

00:09:20   he's gonna lose a lot of sales I don't [TS]

00:09:23   know that it's completely decreed [TS]

00:09:25   rectified it's not all it's absolutely [TS]

00:09:27   no no there's still plenty of trainwreck [TS]

00:09:29   to go around so it's even more pointless [TS]

00:09:31   because it's still a mess it's still you [TS]

00:09:33   still wouldn't want to deliver it to [TS]

00:09:34   kids is some sort of a reasonable path [TS]

00:09:36   to follow for their lives but he's also [TS]

00:09:39   to strict out some of the things that [TS]

00:09:41   made it so enjoyable to anybody else I [TS]

00:09:44   think so early on you realize what kind [TS]

00:09:46   of journey you're on just in the credit [TS]

00:09:47   sequence where it's cool cat dancing [TS]

00:09:49   around playfully to that reddits some [TS]

00:09:52   mighty erotically ironically sure [TS]

00:09:55   kool Kat himself has an associate [TS]

00:09:57   producer credit on the movie that was [TS]

00:09:59   really good i hope he gets points he [TS]

00:10:02   makes a really bitchin hang loose [TS]

00:10:04   gesture when now the derrick savage [TS]

00:10:06   producing writing credits shows up it [TS]

00:10:09   that is it [TS]

00:10:10   it's charming in a demented sort of way [TS]

00:10:13   it was my favorite part of the movie [TS]

00:10:15   because then i had to watch the rest of [TS]

00:10:17   the movie so as we go through this film [TS]

00:10:19   will be pointing out the the [TS]

00:10:21   distinctions between the original thank [TS]

00:10:23   you can't kool Kat usado well we've got [TS]

00:10:26   we've got a scholar on her hand that's [TS]

00:10:28   right got the peter bogdanovich kool Kat [TS]

00:10:31   movies so uh cool cat begins with first [TS]

00:10:35   of all during the credits there's also [TS]

00:10:37   uh we were righteous right after the [TS]

00:10:39   credits we're we're treated to some sort [TS]

00:10:42   of a montage is explaining to us that [TS]

00:10:45   bullies are out there and they are a [TS]

00:10:49   problem as we discussed before the best [TS]

00:10:51   thing about any movie is the montage [TS]

00:10:54   spinning head [TS]

00:10:55   audience laughs and this movie does this [TS]

00:10:57   twice and get it first it's a bunch of [TS]

00:11:00   spinning headlines about up the epidemic [TS]

00:11:03   of bullying plague in the city [TS]

00:11:04   my favorite headline being from the [TS]

00:11:06   catnip news late addition they they have [TS]

00:11:09   a late addition can't stay up late the [TS]

00:11:12   nocturnal well that there's a headline [TS]

00:11:14   that are there any heroes with an [TS]

00:11:15   exclamation point threat rather than a ? [TS]

00:11:19   well it seems that they have the cats [TS]

00:11:21   have trouble with the grammar because [TS]

00:11:22   their follow-up edition reads kids loves [TS]

00:11:25   kool Kat can tell he's going to be also [TS]

00:11:28   has a really love ! because that [TS]

00:11:30   headline has an exclusive yes it does so [TS]

00:11:33   clearly that is the catnip news that has [TS]

00:11:36   the Cali cartel of the last get the cool [TS]

00:11:39   cat images on the fake headlines are [TS]

00:11:41   that are spinning to us are [TS]

00:11:42   illustrations that are from the covers [TS]

00:11:45   or insides of the cool cat books that [TS]

00:11:48   are also available to sell so I [TS]

00:11:50   recognize there but it's good you'll see [TS]

00:11:52   throughout these images are reused yeah [TS]

00:11:55   time and quality are you can totally [TS]

00:11:57   understand why they would want to make [TS]

00:11:58   as much use of those as possible i also [TS]

00:12:00   enjoy during the montage the shot of the [TS]

00:12:03   girl who's screaming for help because [TS]

00:12:04   she's being bullied and she's standing [TS]

00:12:06   right outside a restaurant called the [TS]

00:12:08   bullies diner [TS]

00:12:09   yeah I don't want a victim blaming here [TS]

00:12:12   really done before but if you are going [TS]

00:12:15   to go outside the bullies dieter a [TS]

00:12:18   chance you're gonna get pull eat really [TS]

00:12:21   now you're kind of your kind of Trenton [TS]

00:12:24   on not I don't go outside the murderer [TS]

00:12:26   cafe and expect not to be murdered in [TS]

00:12:29   males [TS]

00:12:29   oh you don't walk home through Crime [TS]

00:12:32   Alley about the charming little girl [TS]

00:12:33   afterwards he was just in a field crying [TS]

00:12:35   for help as well and there's no dine [TS]

00:12:37   around there that drives home the point [TS]

00:12:39   of bullying that he took her out to a [TS]

00:12:41   cornfield and left [TS]

00:12:42   that's a girl in a cool cat loves you [TS]

00:12:44   shirt that who just basically jump since [TS]

00:12:46   is kool Kat because that someone's [TS]

00:12:48   daughter now when we say a cool cat [TS]

00:12:51   loves you sure you mean the one cool cat [TS]

00:12:53   loves you shirt that different people [TS]

00:12:55   have to wear throughout the movie there [TS]

00:12:57   may be more than one I don't know [TS]

00:12:58   anyway the spinning headlines are [TS]

00:12:59   updated to say not only kids love school [TS]

00:13:01   cat but cool cat is here [TS]

00:13:03   cool cat saves the children and kool Kat [TS]

00:13:05   stops bullying so all the bullying is [TS]

00:13:07   done finally cool kinda stopped his for [TS]

00:13:10   more rain and people with this is a time [TS]

00:13:13   when the bullies are on the back running [TS]

00:13:16   people [TS]

00:13:16   yeah yes this is foreshadowing it's not [TS]

00:13:18   it's this is a common technique used in [TS]

00:13:21   filmmaking it's not based on kool Kat [TS]

00:13:23   stop bullying and he stops the bullying [TS]

00:13:25   before the movie even starts [TS]

00:13:27   I know that wants that good that's [TS]

00:13:29   that's what we need ok so finally we are [TS]

00:13:32   here at the at the proper legitimate [TS]

00:13:35   beginning of the movie which I have [TS]

00:13:37   written down as a car pulls up in front [TS]

00:13:39   of a house because it's meant to be a [TS]

00:13:41   majestic dolly shot of a neighborhood [TS]

00:13:43   but it really is just a car slowing down [TS]

00:13:46   in front of a driveway a cameraman [TS]

00:13:48   visible in several places enters front [TS]

00:13:52   door of a house and moves through the [TS]

00:13:55   house you see the cameraman shadow [TS]

00:13:57   several times and then we get a cool cat [TS]

00:14:00   who is talking to assign that he is just [TS]

00:14:03   apparently constructed although it [TS]

00:14:05   appears to just literally be something [TS]

00:14:06   that was printed out of a printer and he [TS]

00:14:08   says the opening line that will stay [TS]

00:14:10   with you forever [TS]

00:14:11   there you go sign i would like to say I [TS]

00:14:14   think about the sign [TS]

00:14:15   ok although it appears to be the most [TS]

00:14:18   important thing to kool Kat they don't [TS]

00:14:21   show it to us know you never see the Sun [TS]

00:14:24   not properly you can see it upside down [TS]

00:14:27   its kool Kat for school president it's [TS]

00:14:28   what I only made like five of them so [TS]

00:14:30   you will see it again i believe on this [TS]

00:14:32   over and over again as that's good work [TS]

00:14:34   at some point you and you would have a [TS]

00:14:37   cut shot to the percent of cool cat to [TS]

00:14:40   see the side is is so very important to [TS]

00:14:43   him [TS]

00:14:44   yeah that that to me is the one thing [TS]

00:14:46   that keeps this opening shot from [TS]

00:14:47   rightfully of the steadicam shot good [TS]

00:14:50   effects when they're walking honey but [TS]

00:14:51   the couple cabana otherwise very similar [TS]

00:14:54   what does it come close though yeah boy [TS]

00:14:56   this addition to being comfortable is [TS]

00:14:58   brought to you by Casper asleep brand [TS]

00:15:00   that has created a perfect mattress sold [TS]

00:15:01   directly to consumers eliminating those [TS]

00:15:04   horrible Commission driven sales and [TS]

00:15:06   inflated prices it's an award-winning [TS]

00:15:08   sleep surface it was developed in-house [TS]

00:15:10   and Casper has a sleek design and is [TS]

00:15:12   delivered in this amazingly small like [TS]

00:15:15   how do they do that small [TS]

00:15:16   all sized box in addition to the [TS]

00:15:18   mattress by the way Casper also offers [TS]

00:15:20   an adaptive pillow and soft breathable [TS]

00:15:22   sheets they are on my bed right now and [TS]

00:15:25   they are glorious [TS]

00:15:27   listen mattresses can often cost over [TS]

00:15:29   fifteen hundred dollars but casper [TS]

00:15:30   mattresses cuz 504 twin all the way up [TS]

00:15:33   to 954 King a shockingly fair price they [TS]

00:15:36   combined spring latex with support of [TS]

00:15:38   memory foam to create an award-winning [TS]

00:15:40   sleep surface with just the right sink [TS]

00:15:42   and just the right balance time magazine [TS]

00:15:44   named it one of the best inventions of [TS]

00:15:47   it's the most awarded mattress of the [TS]

00:15:48   decade and you can sleep on at the [TS]

00:15:51   in-house team of engineers spent [TS]

00:15:52   thousands of hours developing the casper [TS]

00:15:54   and it's breathable design helps sleep [TS]

00:15:56   cool to regulate your temperature [TS]

00:15:57   through the night [TS]

00:15:59   this hot summer months that's very [TS]

00:16:00   important and buying Casper's risk-free [TS]

00:16:04   Casper offers free delivery and free [TS]

00:16:05   returns with a hundred knight home trial [TS]

00:16:07   if you don't love it they'll pick it up [TS]

00:16:08   and refund you but you're going to like [TS]

00:16:10   it because i like mine and I think you [TS]

00:16:12   will be like me and enjoy the good [TS]

00:16:15   feeling of a Casper mattress so get [TS]

00:16:17   fifty dollars toward any mattress [TS]

00:16:19   purchased by visiting Casper dot-com / [TS]

00:16:21   smell and using offer code smell terms [TS]

00:16:23   and conditions apply thank you Casper [TS]

00:16:25   for sponsoring being comfortable cooking [TS]

00:16:28   and also within this point is it uses [TS]

00:16:30   his his smartphone including a great [TS]

00:16:33   shot of him taking his giant mascot [TS]

00:16:35   finger and placing it down the home [TS]

00:16:36   button to unlock it apparently and and [TS]

00:16:39   this will be a recurring theme for this [TS]

00:16:41   is a film that really doesn't care about [TS]

00:16:44   mascot hands can't manipulate objects [TS]

00:16:47   and just makes the guy in the cool cat [TS]

00:16:49   suit keep on trying to open doors and [TS]

00:16:52   pick up pins and use your own roles and [TS]

00:16:55   hang hang up phones and it never cars [TS]

00:16:58   are ya people and never goes well [TS]

00:17:01   never goes well because whatever [TS]

00:17:03   happened to willing suspension of [TS]

00:17:04   disbelief Jason my breasts into letting [TS]

00:17:07   the the director take you on a journey I [TS]

00:17:09   think when the director literally asks [TS]

00:17:11   in the movie if the guy in the suit [TS]

00:17:13   needs help getting into the car and they [TS]

00:17:15   leave that and that's where it in so [TS]

00:17:19   cool because making signs it his friend [TS]

00:17:21   mr. Derek who is the writer and director [TS]

00:17:23   and creator of cool cat mr. Derek mr. [TS]

00:17:26   Derek who we were still at this point [TS]

00:17:28   the movie unclear what the relationship [TS]

00:17:29   is that the [TS]

00:17:30   ya later yeah i frightened by turn to my [TS]

00:17:34   wife is we were watching this and I said [TS]

00:17:36   cool cabins with a dude okay here I [TS]

00:17:40   thought he's his cat he's it makes [TS]

00:17:41   perfect sense his cat he's eight easy [TS]

00:17:44   big and report but he's just a pet cat [TS]

00:17:45   but that's not true no that's only [TS]

00:17:48   slightly less terrifying than the actual [TS]

00:17:50   fact of the thing yeah so cool cat cool [TS]

00:17:53   cats friend Maria comes over and they're [TS]

00:17:55   going to go outside and make more signs [TS]

00:17:58   because he's running for school [TS]

00:17:59   president and Maria has a very clever [TS]

00:18:01   name to the place that they're going to [TS]

00:18:03   go to outside it is the cool cat for [TS]

00:18:05   president office [TS]

00:18:06   that's what she likes to call it yes [TS]

00:18:08   Maria announces that she has laid out a [TS]

00:18:09   blanket and some more sign-making [TS]

00:18:11   supplies on the lawn which is really odd [TS]

00:18:13   because moments ago we saw her skipping [TS]

00:18:15   down the street empty-handed from the [TS]

00:18:17   opposite direction was gonna mess [TS]

00:18:19   overnight [TS]

00:18:20   oh yeah what it was like she had to hold [TS]

00:18:22   the column and then had to go home and [TS]

00:18:23   like put the scissors or whatever away [TS]

00:18:25   or the the extra materials that she [TS]

00:18:27   didn't write and then came back to get [TS]

00:18:29   cool cat and bring the matter guys all [TS]

00:18:31   him because previously she tried to ring [TS]

00:18:32   the doorbell and daddy Derek wasn't [TS]

00:18:34   there to get it for him right [TS]

00:18:35   but there is by the way a great deal of [TS]

00:18:37   skipping in this movie was ok goes [TS]

00:18:40   anywhere he's skipping or doing this [TS]

00:18:42   weird running in place they clearly this [TS]

00:18:44   movie was underwritten by the American [TS]

00:18:46   skipping society to promote skipping the [TS]

00:18:48   cookies to movies he has the skipping [TS]

00:18:50   move and he has the running in place [TS]

00:18:51   while moving his hands forward in some [TS]

00:18:54   strange blender like configuration as [TS]

00:18:57   there is moves that he really also has [TS]

00:18:59   the walking very gingerly up and down [TS]

00:19:02   the stairs let's head pointed straight [TS]

00:19:04   down so we can see on the hole in the [TS]

00:19:05   mask move which I never get tired of [TS]

00:19:08   watching because if he's a guy in a [TS]

00:19:10   mascot head [TS]

00:19:11   yeah and then we get started the entire [TS]

00:19:13   time going up the stairs which is it [TS]

00:19:15   takes like amazing it is amazing you [TS]

00:19:18   have two flights of stairs also amazing [TS]

00:19:20   is cool cats wardrobe which consists [TS]

00:19:21   entirely of shirts that is a cool cat [TS]

00:19:24   ercole cat loves you doesn't it it is it [TS]

00:19:27   is literally like kool Kat cannot wear [TS]

00:19:29   anything not affiliated with the kool [TS]

00:19:32   Kat brand and I was trying to imagine [TS]

00:19:33   the kind of response i would get if i [TS]

00:19:35   printed up some hats with just my head [TS]

00:19:37   and the word Steve let's loves you on [TS]

00:19:39   the night [TS]

00:19:40   do you have not be good i would be happy [TS]

00:19:43   that you love me [TS]

00:19:44   yeah sounds like good news I would be [TS]

00:19:47   concerned that you loved everyone that's [TS]

00:19:49   all that had Steve I would be very [TS]

00:19:50   concerned i have a sense that maybe I [TS]

00:19:53   would be bullied so I'm a little [TS]

00:19:55   concerned about that [TS]

00:19:56   well boy do I have the movie for you I [TS]

00:19:58   guess I'm kind of victim-blaming here [TS]

00:19:59   again but it seems like he's asking for [TS]

00:20:01   it is what i'm saying i don't think [TS]

00:20:03   there are any sign making supplies out [TS]

00:20:04   on the blanket either i think there's [TS]

00:20:06   just like their signs around and then [TS]

00:20:07   they sit down [TS]

00:20:08   well the task of making signs seems to [TS]

00:20:10   largely involved kool Kat rubbing his [TS]

00:20:12   mascot hand across the front of it [TS]

00:20:14   yes there are no sign making supplies at [TS]

00:20:16   know the kitchen island there you know [TS]

00:20:18   that's the problem with not having [TS]

00:20:19   opposable thumbs i think probably so I [TS]

00:20:22   also one of my notes at this point is [TS]

00:20:23   just the inner life of a mascot that's [TS]

00:20:25   what we're really getting here it's like [TS]

00:20:27   what you like it home [TS]

00:20:28   what does he think about what does he [TS]

00:20:29   worry about what does he do with his [TS]

00:20:30   time now we know and they're like we're [TS]

00:20:32   jump cuts in here to wear life where [TS]

00:20:34   there are some that this movie isnot [TS]

00:20:36   competently edited but they're there are [TS]

00:20:39   few places that are spectacularly [TS]

00:20:40   incompetent in there editing and this [TS]

00:20:43   the this little segment has a has a few [TS]

00:20:45   we're jump cuts but it doesn't matter [TS]

00:20:46   because our are antagonists of the film [TS]

00:20:48   appears at this point across the street [TS]

00:20:50   watching them [TS]

00:20:51   butch the bully which the bully it's a [TS]

00:20:54   family name [TS]

00:20:54   yeah again this is kinda nominative [TS]

00:20:56   determinism going on here who that when [TS]

00:20:59   you when your last name is the bully it [TS]

00:21:02   seems like that's what you're gonna grow [TS]

00:21:03   up to do I don't want to pick on which [TS]

00:21:05   the bullying he's just he's a bully [TS]

00:21:07   it's not his fault he got cast in this [TS]

00:21:09   movie it's the fault of the [TS]

00:21:10   quote-unquote casting director with the [TS]

00:21:13   comma csa after his name which [TS]

00:21:15   theoretically makes a member of some [TS]

00:21:17   sort of professional casting society now [TS]

00:21:19   but which the bully strikes me as the [TS]

00:21:21   kind of kid who would be so quickly [TS]

00:21:23   bullied by every other child on the [TS]

00:21:25   street including the weird mascot man [TS]

00:21:27   i'm gonna i'm gonna fight you on this [TS]

00:21:29   because i think it's the bully maybe the [TS]

00:21:31   best character in this movie [TS]

00:21:33   he's wonderful don't get me wrong yeah [TS]

00:21:34   that s was obviously has turned he has [TS]

00:21:37   turned her bullied because when you're a [TS]

00:21:39   doughy albino with [TS]

00:21:40   you got to be the hunter and the hunted [TS]

00:21:44   am i right [TS]

00:21:45   yeah alright lets out there that was [TS]

00:21:47   what i was trying to avoid saying but [TS]

00:21:48   it's out there now you've got to use [TS]

00:21:50   weapons and his weapons are his wits and [TS]

00:21:53   his crew laughs yes it just strikes me [TS]

00:21:55   as odd to to give the most lines in your [TS]

00:21:58   movie to somebody who cannot speak when [TS]

00:22:00   I really want to see is the wide [TS]

00:22:02   sargasso sea of uh cool cat saves the [TS]

00:22:05   kids which is the movie told from [TS]

00:22:07   witches perspective yes maybe we really [TS]

00:22:10   do we get it [TS]

00:22:11   oh sure he's the villain in cool cats [TS]

00:22:13   telling of the story but i think if we [TS]

00:22:15   saw this movie through bushes shoes we [TS]

00:22:17   get a different picture interest i think [TS]

00:22:19   yeah I think butch is my not only my [TS]

00:22:21   favorite character in the movie but I i [TS]

00:22:23   actually think that that this kid is the [TS]

00:22:25   best actor in the movie [TS]

00:22:27   well that's goes without saying what is [TS]

00:22:29   he saying he's great or even good or [TS]

00:22:32   even not bad but and he doesn't hide [TS]

00:22:35   large that he's not directed very well [TS]

00:22:36   he rushes all of his lines he has a he [TS]

00:22:39   has a speech impediment makes it hard to [TS]

00:22:40   understand his accent changes in a few [TS]

00:22:42   scenes but I love his maniacal laugh [TS]

00:22:44   which has to do repeatedly was really [TS]

00:22:47   great at the bed being and doing it [TS]

00:22:50   because that's hard like kid you gotta [TS]

00:22:52   say you're terrible dialogue and then [TS]

00:22:54   cackle maniacally and he does a good job [TS]

00:22:56   just say things like I love being a [TS]

00:22:58   bully [TS]

00:22:58   it's great that he's found something he [TS]

00:23:00   loved us well he's found the perfect [TS]

00:23:02   victims kool Kat and Maria are so easily [TS]

00:23:05   bullion oh man everybody thinks they are [TS]

00:23:09   a little bit thick hard day they are [TS]

00:23:11   really the doc so so here's here's how [TS]

00:23:13   we we meet butch hehe says oh look [TS]

00:23:15   there's kool Kat Maria I'm gonna Punk [TS]

00:23:17   them which is our first indication that [TS]

00:23:19   Derek Savage has no idea what the term [TS]

00:23:21   Punk me and he says Maria is pretty so [TS]

00:23:24   i'll text her she's ugly [TS]

00:23:26   he says yes and then uh and so he sent [TS]

00:23:29   her a text [TS]

00:23:30   you're ugly and your hair looks like [TS]

00:23:32   rats yes but before he they see that we [TS]

00:23:34   get the first important lesson from cool [TS]

00:23:36   cat which goes almost verbatim it's not [TS]

00:23:40   good to open text from a stranger but [TS]

00:23:43   I'm here so it doing it see what if you [TS]

00:23:45   want to cut and this is the children you [TS]

00:23:49   step in here and point out that yes this [TS]

00:23:51   is the one line in the film where [TS]

00:23:52   mysteriously cool cats [TS]

00:23:54   this doesn't sound like it's coming from [TS]

00:23:55   inside a man and that's because [TS]

00:23:57   originally kool Kat said there's only [TS]

00:23:59   one way to find out [TS]

00:24:01   so see what it says well somebody [TS]

00:24:03   pointed out that it's not a good idea to [TS]

00:24:05   open text from a stranger so now that's [TS]

00:24:07   what kool Kat says in a slightly [TS]

00:24:08   different voice but yes previously even [TS]

00:24:11   that terrible message was what he's [TS]

00:24:14   there so it's ok and this is one of the [TS]

00:24:15   points that I wanted to make about who [TS]

00:24:16   kool Kat is I'm very confused about cool [TS]

00:24:19   cats identity because he is running for [TS]

00:24:22   school president so he's apparently a [TS]

00:24:24   student in the school with the kids and [TS]

00:24:26   yet at the same time and several points [TS]

00:24:28   it seems like he's more advanced than [TS]

00:24:31   the kids including here where he is a [TS]

00:24:34   he's a figure who says it's okay for her [TS]

00:24:36   to see what the text is from the missing [TS]

00:24:38   person I don't really understand where [TS]

00:24:40   his what his place in the world is maybe [TS]

00:24:42   age of adulthood is lower for cats [TS]

00:24:45   I don't know well he loves her as he [TS]

00:24:46   loves all kiss and so he figures that [TS]

00:24:48   you know he can help her along through [TS]

00:24:49   whatever trauma is you have to come but [TS]

00:24:51   he's is not a kid himself if he's going [TS]

00:24:53   to school [TS]

00:24:54   he's a kid who can drive a convertible [TS]

00:24:56   uh but yeah generally a you typical cat [TS]

00:25:00   kid yeah anyway this is one of the first [TS]

00:25:01   times I back i've actually had a moment [TS]

00:25:03   where I've said hey they dubbed in that [TS]

00:25:05   mascots voice in a questioning tone [TS]

00:25:07   because usually that would be what they [TS]

00:25:10   did but not here so you're ugly and your [TS]

00:25:12   help hey your hair looks like rat hair [TS]

00:25:14   and she goes huh and Butch goes haha [TS]

00:25:18   it worked being a bully so I'm going to [TS]

00:25:21   stir again from 20 feet away but is in [TS]

00:25:25   you just some sort of documentary crew [TS]

00:25:27   it looks like he'slooking just off the [TS]

00:25:28   camera talking to nobody [TS]

00:25:30   I imagine this movie is just a [TS]

00:25:31   documentary about books to pulley with [TS]

00:25:33   kool Kat as an incidental or can you [TS]

00:25:35   imagine I would love to see that I want [TS]

00:25:37   to watch the bully documentary haha [TS]

00:25:40   alright so which sends out his second [TS]

00:25:41   text and here we get our second change [TS]

00:25:44   in the special edition [TS]

00:25:45   I so again the text arrives and instead [TS]

00:25:49   of saying you know it was a bad idea to [TS]

00:25:51   open that we were right the first time [TS]

00:25:53   cool cats responses maybe they feel bad [TS]

00:25:55   and want to apologize yeah we do well in [TS]

00:25:59   the original version before that happens [TS]

00:26:01   and you can see the very big blank spot [TS]

00:26:03   on the film before he says maybe they [TS]

00:26:04   feel bad he has this big emphatic [TS]

00:26:07   sure so he's really like do it man [TS]

00:26:12   open it up we learn to read the comments [TS]

00:26:14   on that outlines story effectiveness [TS]

00:26:17   also i like because the effect of this [TS]

00:26:19   is this inner life of a mascot that i [TS]

00:26:21   was talking about because because of [TS]

00:26:23   that pause what ends up happening is [TS]

00:26:26   it's like cool cat is going to another [TS]

00:26:28   place where he's like having visions of [TS]

00:26:30   who-knows-what because he this is how it [TS]

00:26:33   comes out in the final dub it's you know [TS]

00:26:35   maybe they feel bad and I'm like what is [TS]

00:26:39   it looks like the thousand-yard stare [TS]

00:26:40   from kool Kat like what I even do here [TS]

00:26:43   is like yeah maybe they feel bad i don't [TS]

00:26:46   know and it's not like his lips are [TS]

00:26:48   moving it's really easy to dub in [TS]

00:26:50   anything you want and they did he dumped [TS]

00:26:52   inside a thousand-yard stare at this is [TS]

00:26:54   so this is got some amazing things too [TS]

00:26:57   because they they see this and you know [TS]

00:26:59   it's a it's a it's another bullying text [TS]

00:27:01   but right right in here cool cat does [TS]

00:27:03   one of these things that he does [TS]

00:27:03   occasionally which I find just totally [TS]

00:27:06   bizarre which is he suddenly begins [TS]

00:27:08   addressing the camera i guess or us at [TS]

00:27:11   the audience and telling us about [TS]

00:27:12   himself so all of a sudden he's in this [TS]

00:27:14   scene with Maria they're being bullied I [TS]

00:27:16   can accept that we're in a scene in a [TS]

00:27:17   movie and he suddenly declares I'm kool [TS]

00:27:20   Kat and I love all kids just like okay [TS]

00:27:23   that's good [TS]

00:27:24   and then he reassures maria in a [TS]

00:27:26   chilling scene he reassures her you're [TS]

00:27:28   very very pretty [TS]

00:27:32   his election signs by the way read kool [TS]

00:27:35   Kat is the cat and vote now captain many [TS]

00:27:39   things all kids are like who are you [TS]

00:27:41   voting for [TS]

00:27:42   oh the cat right that's what monster [TS]

00:29:12   turns his bullying to kool Kat and sends [TS]

00:29:15   him he calls him and says why do they [TS]

00:29:18   call you kool Kat they should call you [TS]

00:29:19   dumb cat which is pretty sweet and [TS]

00:29:22   replies is this which I want I can't but [TS]

00:29:29   just not like disguising his voice he's [TS]

00:29:32   he's talking like Madeline Kahn and [TS]

00:29:33   blazing saddles is that it's very easy [TS]

00:29:36   to identify Butch's voice it you know [TS]

00:29:38   which by sight which they because he's [TS]

00:29:40   across the street [TS]

00:29:42   yeah also he's across the street quite [TS]

00:29:43   you call yourself dumb cat also maria in [TS]

00:29:48   a moment we'll say he's always bullying [TS]

00:29:50   and he has no friends [TS]

00:29:52   so maybe that's who's bullying you in [TS]

00:29:55   retrospect it was probably a bad idea to [TS]

00:29:57   give him all of our contact information [TS]

00:29:59   so they see him across the street and he [TS]

00:30:03   and he immediately runs away [TS]

00:30:04   it begins monologue what is wrong but [TS]

00:30:06   what is wrong with you [TS]

00:30:08   well he schools are for dummies yeah [TS]

00:30:11   then once it as soon as he's out of the [TS]

00:30:13   way he starts saying dagnabbit [TS]

00:30:15   that's Derek savages his deep [TS]

00:30:17   understanding of street patois which he [TS]

00:30:19   busts out repeated and sometimes is 1920 [TS]

00:30:21   sometimes it's like [TS]

00:30:23   something out of boys in the hood and [TS]

00:30:25   and sometimes it's a it's having a [TS]

00:30:27   little boy say well la dee dah dah dah [TS]

00:30:30   explaining to me his next to plans [TS]

00:30:33   because it looks to me like he finds a [TS]

00:30:35   box and says great [TS]

00:30:37   a bully with whatever is in this box [TS]

00:30:39   takes out a can of spray paint [TS]

00:30:42   let's do some very low-budget vandalism [TS]

00:30:45   by drawing one line across one of the [TS]

00:30:48   cool cats campaigns but the paint blows [TS]

00:30:50   in his face and he says stupid wind so [TS]

00:30:53   dumb wind blue paint my face not not [TS]

00:30:56   since the storm scene kid we're as [TS]

00:30:59   someone so eloquent curse the elements [TS]

00:31:02   because not even the simplest action in [TS]

00:31:04   this film can go unannounced by whoever [TS]

00:31:06   is performing it so he goes back to the [TS]

00:31:09   box and gets another can of spray paint [TS]

00:31:12   is clearly exhausted through its one [TS]

00:31:14   slight little spray that it got and into [TS]

00:31:17   his face so he goes back to the box of [TS]

00:31:19   mischief and there's another canvas of [TS]

00:31:21   spray paint and now he's delighted he's [TS]

00:31:23   got a brand new plan now that he has a [TS]

00:31:25   can of spray paint see aren't exactly [TS]

00:31:27   what he had two seconds ago you got it [TS]

00:31:30   you figured out what's the question [TS]

00:31:31   what's the wind resistant bring us up my [TS]

00:31:34   question office honey how come Maria [TS]

00:31:37   said he has no friends when clearly he [TS]

00:31:38   has two pals who are not really that [TS]

00:31:40   interested in being his sight but think [TS]

00:31:42   he kind of bullies and they're not his [TS]

00:31:43   friends they kind of forces the mind [TS]

00:31:45   forces them into so he knows the [TS]

00:31:47   boneheads and we'll get to them a minute [TS]

00:31:48   but I want to know no one of them is [TS]

00:31:50   named jamie and the other one is [TS]

00:31:51   apparently named you bonehead yes [TS]

00:31:53   because here first of the two kids and [TS]

00:31:55   Jamie bone and you bonehead that's true [TS]

00:31:58   that's true I I took it as a collective [TS]

00:32:00   boneheads a family it's like it's like a [TS]

00:32:02   band Jamie and the boneheads jamie is in [TS]

00:32:04   the boneheads but also is one it is just [TS]

00:32:08   a mere yeah i mean the boneheads is my [TS]

00:32:10   new cover band so i want to point out [TS]

00:32:12   that songs that I asked questions about [TS]

00:32:14   Maria's family life because that when [TS]

00:32:17   they see the wind blow paint in which [TS]

00:32:19   his face it she says my daddy calls that [TS]

00:32:23   payback and my daddy says what goes [TS]

00:32:26   around comes around to which I asked is [TS]

00:32:29   Charles Bronson your daddy [TS]

00:32:31   yeah they're here is a real of revenge [TS]

00:32:36   fantasy aspect too cool cat saves the [TS]

00:32:38   units that was kind of uncomfortable for [TS]

00:32:41   us for an educational PSA kind of movie [TS]

00:32:44   but cool cat is always the optimist they [TS]

00:32:46   declare will turn lemons into lemonade [TS]

00:32:49   I love lemonade it's so good there will [TS]

00:32:51   be a call back to that later with her [TS]

00:32:53   oh yes there will Steve yes yes the [TS]

00:32:56   right away impressed [TS]

00:32:58   perhaps the most clever bit of dialogue [TS]

00:33:02   in the movie which day it is so clever [TS]

00:33:04   that they use it twice which recruits [TS]

00:33:07   the boneheads into this into their gang [TS]

00:33:09   the bad boys he's declared it and [TS]

00:33:11   they'll paint Abby yeah for the bad boys [TS]

00:33:13   and they end and the the jerks who are [TS]

00:33:16   the boneheads who are in this big new [TS]

00:33:18   gang startup gang with him just wanted [TS]

00:33:20   one of them said content that just the [TS]

00:33:22   one kid is about bet the B stands for [TS]

00:33:24   bush and not bad boys 2 which point [TS]

00:33:28   which has the clever rejoinder know it [TS]

00:33:30   don't shut up shut up shut up you bought [TS]

00:33:32   that kid is smart that kids figured it [TS]

00:33:34   out he knows this is all just for the [TS]

00:33:36   ego trip a butch the bully and they're [TS]

00:33:37   not they're just cogs in the wheels i [TS]

00:33:40   think they really should workshop that [TS]

00:33:41   bad boys name a bit more [TS]

00:33:43   did you know maybe gotten a whiteboard [TS]

00:33:45   come up with some of your ideas yeah [TS]

00:33:47   like one word bad boys [TS]

00:33:49   yeah it should be 2 b's that they should [TS]

00:33:51   be tagging things with which could also [TS]

00:33:53   still be butch the bully so there's no [TS]

00:33:55   particular reason why they couldn't [TS]

00:33:56   start share so I'm this moves into our [TS]

00:33:59   next next keyport plot point which is [TS]

00:34:01   that uh another girl named Madison who [TS]

00:34:04   later is referred to essentially without [TS]

00:34:06   a name as a baby but i think that has to [TS]

00:34:08   do with the fact that these are multiple [TS]

00:34:10   video stitch together [TS]

00:34:11   Madison appears and she she reveals that [TS]

00:34:13   there is shocking vandalism happening in [TS]

00:34:15   sandboxes throughout the neighborhood [TS]

00:34:16   which makes kool Kat very upset and and [TS]

00:34:20   as a result not be able to say any words [TS]

00:34:23   that make any sense at all [TS]

00:34:25   he's he seems incoherent for for a [TS]

00:34:27   period of time that the rest of the [TS]

00:34:29   movie not only our sandboxes being [TS]

00:34:31   graffiti upon making all of the kids cry [TS]

00:34:33   but most horrifyingly a toy shovel was [TS]

00:34:36   stolen from with them so they cannot [TS]

00:34:38   build sandcastles indeed and that's at [TS]

00:34:40   that point [TS]

00:34:41   cool cat takes a really bold stand where [TS]

00:34:43   he says it's so [TS]

00:34:44   hard to steal it's not cool paint on [TS]

00:34:47   someone's wall [TS]

00:34:48   kool Kat really is it back off kool Kat [TS]

00:34:51   let's not go crazy with these radical [TS]

00:34:53   positions [TS]

00:34:54   this is where we get almost immediately [TS]

00:34:56   vb stands for butch joke comes back [TS]

00:34:59   almost immediately yes actually the [TS]

00:35:01   second kid says it to both Jamie and you [TS]

00:35:04   button it Smithers can point out why do [TS]

00:35:06   have a question at this point though so [TS]

00:35:08   but which is just about to graffiti this [TS]

00:35:10   wall yes and we hear that at the same [TS]

00:35:12   time that sand boxes around the county [TS]

00:35:15   or the town or whatever being defeated [TS]

00:35:16   Amon so the question is is is butch just [TS]

00:35:19   a symptom of a sick society where [TS]

00:35:21   sandboxes get graffitied on or is he [TS]

00:35:23   responsible for every bit of crime in [TS]

00:35:25   the entire county [TS]

00:35:26   he's the mastermind i think i think so [TS]

00:35:27   that will if you give your neighborhood [TS]

00:35:29   where people leave boxes of mischief [TS]

00:35:31   just laying around outside of their [TS]

00:35:32   fences I guess they're kind of all [TS]

00:35:33   asking for well not just boxes of [TS]

00:35:35   mischief also guns you know we'll get [TS]

00:35:38   there [TS]

00:35:38   well those aren't Boxley we are all but [TS]

00:35:40   you can you could argue that the box of [TS]

00:35:42   mischief is in fact the true villain [TS]

00:35:44   here and that any child who comes in [TS]

00:35:46   contact with it becomes the bully [TS]

00:35:49   Oh entrapment I like to think it's a [TS]

00:35:52   kind of Pandora's box that really warps [TS]

00:35:54   whoever finds it into manipulating the [TS]

00:35:57   people around them into doing whatever [TS]

00:35:58   it is they want with whatever kind of [TS]

00:36:00   graffiti they can come up with and if [TS]

00:36:01   it's that if it's be then you got the [TS]

00:36:03   boneheads and what do you do you really [TS]

00:36:06   need all your friends there you go [TS]

00:36:07   that's how it works [TS]

00:36:09   apparently smart in the chat room makes [TS]

00:36:10   a very good point which is that cool [TS]

00:36:12   cats version 2 graffitied sandboxes [TS]

00:36:14   probably because nobody wants to be [TS]

00:36:16   reading graffiti when they're in the [TS]

00:36:17   bathroom and I said that's how it works [TS]

00:36:20   but kool Kat stops them and you know how [TS]

00:36:22   cool cat stop them he shouts stop in the [TS]

00:36:25   name of anti-graffiti before you break [TS]

00:36:28   my heart [TS]

00:36:29   in the name of an anti-graffiti I don't [TS]

00:36:31   know who andy graffiti is and who who [TS]

00:36:33   her husband uncle graffiti yes uncle gun [TS]

00:36:37   control but that that's all it is [TS]

00:36:40   required because Bush the bully Jamie [TS]

00:36:43   and you both heads is flea are butch [TS]

00:36:48   fleas and and leaves Jamie and/or you [TS]

00:36:51   boneheads holding the can [TS]

00:36:52   but but just cool cats declaration is [TS]

00:36:55   enough for Madison to say we'll get so [TS]

00:36:57   brave [TS]

00:36:58   he really is no he he's laying it all [TS]

00:37:01   out on the line there everyone's [TS]

00:37:02   thinking it someone's gotta say it [TS]

00:37:33   i use Harry's razors every time I shave [TS]

00:37:35   every other day unless I'm doing [TS]

00:37:40   at home now I can do that but I used to [TS]

00:37:41   shape with them everyday great shave i [TS]

00:37:44   love the multi-blade I the razor i love [TS]

00:37:47   the handle [TS]

00:37:48   I've got the orange handle right now [TS]

00:37:49   which is pretty great a little stand and [TS]

00:37:52   the shaving lotion makes me happy too i [TS]

00:38:35   Harry's a try today thanks Harry's so [TS]

00:38:37   there's a long lecture here we're cool [TS]

00:38:38   cat talks to the kids about how terrible [TS]

00:38:41   what they're about to start they were [TS]

00:38:42   about to do is and this is I think the [TS]

00:38:45   cruelest kind of all in the special [TS]

00:38:47   edition because in the original version [TS]

00:38:48   of this of the film at this point as [TS]

00:38:50   he's talking you can see across the [TS]

00:38:54   street some random guy walks out of his [TS]

00:38:56   house realizes that something is being [TS]

00:38:59   filled and then slowly take several [TS]

00:39:01   steps back into his house [TS]

00:39:03   out of the shot but in this version that [TS]

00:39:06   doesn't happen which shocks me because [TS]

00:39:08   it suggests that they shot this in more [TS]

00:39:10   than one take [TS]

00:39:11   yes this may be the only place where [TS]

00:39:13   that second take was was made because [TS]

00:39:15   they'd it's definitely different take [TS]

00:39:17   that vocalizing is different and [TS]

00:39:18   everything it is the same lines so it's [TS]

00:39:20   not like they just cut it out so I feel [TS]

00:39:23   like maybe what happened there is they [TS]

00:39:24   realize that guy was there they took the [TS]

00:39:27   second shot and then Derek forgot to put [TS]

00:39:28   it in something that happens all in this [TS]

00:39:30   movie repeatedly is a cool cat dispenses [TS]

00:39:33   his his special wisdom [TS]

00:39:35   yeah and the people who are misbehaving [TS]

00:39:37   immediately agree with everything he's [TS]

00:39:40   just said turn around a hundred and [TS]

00:39:42   eighty degrees and are on board for all [TS]

00:39:44   time after that or so they say when [TS]

00:39:47   someone says to you [TS]

00:39:48   with friends like that you better not [TS]

00:39:50   have in the end of us you get you get on [TS]

00:39:52   board what does that even mean [TS]

00:39:53   with that kind of water tight elastic [TS]

00:39:55   line with friends like that you better [TS]

00:39:57   not have any enemies [TS]

00:39:59   it's kind of a tragic tale as it turns [TS]

00:40:00   out because the kids are only tagging [TS]

00:40:02   because nobody loves me nobody cares [TS]

00:40:03   nobody cares for us one of them so [TS]

00:40:06   that's what they say but really they [TS]

00:40:07   were just standing there and Bush said [TS]

00:40:09   let's go tag stuff they're like yes the [TS]

00:40:11   mere moments earlier kitchen pressure [TS]

00:40:13   them into it we saw it happen but now [TS]

00:40:15   they have Dave there there it through [TS]

00:40:17   read in retrospect they realize nobody [TS]

00:40:18   loves them but that's not true [TS]

00:40:20   cool cat loves them which leads to some [TS]

00:40:21   amazing dialogue that i wrote down that [TS]

00:40:23   I want to share with everybody right now [TS]

00:40:24   yes go for it true integrity means you [TS]

00:40:27   do the right thing when no one is [TS]

00:40:28   looking in other words be cool when no [TS]

00:40:30   one's around to which the kids reply [TS]

00:40:32   yeah let's have some integrity [TS]

00:40:34   I'm down with that man that's groovy [TS]

00:40:37   yeah that's a saying you can take to the [TS]

00:40:40   streets will know the whole line is that [TS]

00:40:42   i wrote this down to because it's almost [TS]

00:40:43   as good as with friends like that you [TS]

00:40:44   better not have any enemies you have the [TS]

00:40:46   kids power you can be anything you want [TS]

00:40:49   to be [TS]

00:40:50   you've got to work hard and make it [TS]

00:40:51   happen and that's a saying you can take [TS]

00:40:53   to the streets yeah he says directly at [TS]

00:40:56   the camera and yet another yeah fourth [TS]

00:40:58   wall breaking my listeners if that [TS]

00:40:59   doesn't sound very convincing you have [TS]

00:41:01   to imagine that being said by a guy that [TS]

00:41:03   outfit waving his hand spasmodically [TS]

00:41:05   with some word so amazing i would follow [TS]

00:41:09   that cat the gates around I think we're [TS]

00:41:11   doing because that's where he's taking [TS]

00:41:12   you [TS]

00:41:13   I think Maria's follow-up line to that [TS]

00:41:15   is might be my favorite in the scene and [TS]

00:41:17   that's where she points out i bet those [TS]

00:41:19   kids have never been showing so much [TS]

00:41:20   love people her friend yeah disturbing [TS]

00:41:24   and wonderful inequalities mama whoops [TS]

00:41:27   bonehead so that would be our first [TS]

00:41:28   uncomfortable moment of the night [TS]

00:41:30   Oh your first really i don't know you or [TS]

00:41:32   nine for me to get far far worse yes [TS]

00:41:35   yeah that's so cool gets home life we go [TS]

00:41:37   back inside and eric says mama cat made [TS]

00:41:40   something tasty for you guys today and [TS]

00:41:41   this is when I started to ask myself [TS]

00:41:42   wait a second is Derek married to mama [TS]

00:41:45   cat are they perhaps like is he like [TS]

00:41:47   kool Kat stepfather is and he's married [TS]

00:41:50   to to do to a cool cats mother I was [TS]

00:41:54   telling myself for a long time to the [TS]

00:41:56   movie that Derek was he just married [TS]

00:41:58   into the cat family [TS]

00:42:00   cool cat keeps calling him daddy Derek [TS]

00:42:02   which is gross remember Derek wrote this [TS]

00:42:05   movie [TS]

00:42:05   yes but daddy Derek could be something [TS]

00:42:08   you call your stepfather who married [TS]

00:42:10   your camera mother share [TS]

00:42:12   absolutely there is a scene later on [TS]

00:42:14   that I think ruins yes it always has [TS]

00:42:17   you have to assume and that in fact [TS]

00:42:19   daddy Derek and mama cat made spawned [TS]

00:42:24   this how created [TS]

00:42:25   oh yeah real cool cat in fact yes out [TS]

00:42:28   well let's let's let's let's cut right [TS]

00:42:30   to the chase here all right mama cat is [TS]

00:42:32   another person in the cast [TS]

00:42:34   yes that not even mad filled with [TS]

00:42:36   shipping know it's a person in the same [TS]

00:42:38   Akash is a person in the same cat suit [TS]

00:42:41   but with address and uh and a and and [TS]

00:42:44   like eyelashes eyelashes and like a lip [TS]

00:42:46   prosthetic to make it it seems sort of [TS]

00:42:49   different from kool Kat but when they [TS]

00:42:51   appear in the scene together it is a [TS]

00:42:53   very a questionably composited split [TS]

00:42:57   screen effect honestly the split screen [TS]

00:42:59   is pretty good [TS]

00:43:00   like that's where they put most of their [TS]

00:43:02   post-production effort was creating the [TS]

00:43:04   illusion of having to catsuits and by [TS]

00:43:06   pretty good he means it's awful if you [TS]

00:43:08   take more than half a second to look for [TS]

00:43:10   it [TS]

00:43:10   I couldn't see the seam right away in [TS]

00:43:12   that one scene at the table yeah so what [TS]

00:43:15   we learn is it is easier to do a [TS]

00:43:17   locked-off split screen video shot than [TS]

00:43:21   it is to buy a second cat soup [TS]

00:43:24   yes apparently so to focus a little [TS]

00:43:26   more on this Mama and Daddy business [TS]

00:43:28   they are referred to [TS]

00:43:30   he's referred to differently at several [TS]

00:43:32   points throughout the film and I don't [TS]

00:43:33   know whether that's because this is [TS]

00:43:34   three things split up and they had [TS]

00:43:36   different ideas for what he was in those [TS]

00:43:38   three different videos but he's called [TS]

00:43:40   daddy Derek several times [TS]

00:43:42   it's called mr. Davis in this scene they [TS]

00:43:43   referred at one point to mr. and mrs. [TS]

00:43:46   cat yes that's just the derrick is Derek [TS]

00:43:49   cat [TS]

00:43:50   yes it's just interesting either he took [TS]

00:43:52   her name which is surprisingly [TS]

00:43:53   progressive for your very aggressive or [TS]

00:43:56   he was already named Eric cat which [TS]

00:43:58   would be a crazy coincidence man named [TS]

00:44:00   cat who's been married a cat get em and [TS]

00:44:04   without that ability flaws but he is [TS]

00:44:06   called Derek savage later on by mr. [TS]

00:44:09   Erica's yes and well in that yet but in [TS]

00:44:11   that scene he's also referred to as the [TS]

00:44:13   creator of cool cat which is a very [TS]

00:44:15   weird we talk about being a bandit just [TS]

00:44:17   as my father is the creator me to get an [TS]

00:44:21   executive producer credit he laid his [TS]

00:44:23   seed within my mother and I are okay but [TS]

00:44:26   you'll notice this little family party [TS]

00:44:28   it's a credit for playing kool Kat mrs. [TS]

00:44:30   cat does not get a credit in the [TS]

00:44:31   creation of cool can explore abs with my [TS]

00:44:34   babies custom cat I think we need to lay [TS]

00:44:38   it on the line here this man had [TS]

00:44:39   conjugal relationships with it's very [TS]

00:44:41   clear and after one more quick at it is [TS]

00:44:43   is very clear he has no idea what's in [TS]

00:44:46   there it could actually be a cat in a [TS]

00:44:47   cat suit haha and i think this explains [TS]

00:44:51   why [TS]

00:44:52   kool Kat is unholy him well I believe [TS]

00:44:56   that Derrick savage met a woman who you [TS]

00:44:59   know they hit it off and after six [TS]

00:45:00   months or so she revealed that she liked [TS]

00:45:03   to wear mascot suits in time when [TS]

00:45:06   they're not on dates so what I'm [TS]

00:45:07   wondering is if when they got married [TS]

00:45:10   presumably and had kool Kat as a baby [TS]

00:45:13   presumably they just kept buying the [TS]

00:45:15   human child they made progressively [TS]

00:45:17   larger cat mascot suit to wear [TS]

00:45:20   throughout his life and that's just part [TS]

00:45:21   of his identity [TS]

00:45:22   oh my god you think we roomed him to be [TS]

00:45:24   like them he doesn't know that's not the [TS]

00:45:26   real skill it's either that or after [TS]

00:45:29   like month eight of their relationship [TS]

00:45:30   she introduced this other guy who's also [TS]

00:45:32   into cats suits but has daddy issues as [TS]

00:45:35   well you have to guard the suit makes it [TS]

00:45:37   better for be [TS]

00:45:38   so I that's a much darker thing that I [TS]

00:45:42   was going to suggest which is just [TS]

00:45:44   literally it turns out that if a man and [TS]

00:45:47   a woman wearing a catsuit love each [TS]

00:45:48   other very much they may magically [TS]

00:45:51   produce a cat baby a fully-grown man [TS]

00:45:53   also wearing a catsuit [TS]

00:45:55   can I get cool cats a restaurant review [TS]

00:45:57   out of the way by the way all the eating [TS]

00:45:59   scenes feature people sitting with [TS]

00:46:02   half-eaten sandwiches to indicate that [TS]

00:46:05   they have eaten some lunch although we [TS]

00:46:06   never see them eat the half-eaten [TS]

00:46:08   sandwiches and they may be indeed the [TS]

00:46:10   same half-eaten sandwiches and all the [TS]

00:46:12   scenes but I I didn't want to point out [TS]

00:46:14   cool cats restaurant review when asked [TS]

00:46:17   how he enjoys his lunch [TS]

00:46:19   kool Katz response not something i pick [TS]

00:46:21   any human would ever say which is my [TS]

00:46:23   belly feels great human suno was with [TS]

00:46:28   that I just got her into that doesn't [TS]

00:46:29   sound that bizarre well as it turns out [TS]

00:46:31   this is a perfect segue into what i was [TS]

00:46:33   going to say which is that at several [TS]

00:46:35   points throughout this film cool cat [TS]

00:46:37   scratches his own belly and all his leg [TS]

00:46:39   shake [TS]

00:46:40   can I don't work like that there's this [TS]

00:46:42   one of the scenes of the donkey and [TS]

00:46:44   Maria run back to the picnic blanket [TS]

00:46:47   which is strong on the long like three [TS]

00:46:48   days later he throws down on it starts [TS]

00:46:51   scratching his belly and kicking his leg [TS]

00:46:53   and it looks disturbing it quickly but [TS]

00:46:58   yes that's a dog think that's not a [TS]

00:46:59   Catholic and in my feeling is if you're [TS]

00:47:01   going to make a movie that runs an hour [TS]

00:47:03   and 15 minutes long about a cat [TS]

00:47:05   it seems like you should have actually [TS]

00:47:06   experienced ook at some point in your [TS]

00:47:08   life [TS]

00:47:09   we're told there's a point they're [TS]

00:47:10   having an appointment to Hollywood which [TS]

00:47:12   doesn't really make any sense right [TS]

00:47:15   and by cool cat is that's gonna happen [TS]

00:47:17   tomorrow so cool cat needs to go to bed [TS]

00:47:18   so cool cat surfs the web a little bit [TS]

00:47:22   look at me i'm surfing the wisdoms a [TS]

00:47:24   little song for certain i'm surfing the [TS]

00:47:27   web surfing the web which is not one of [TS]

00:47:29   the songs listed is like one of the [TS]

00:47:30   official songs now it's a little bonus [TS]

00:47:32   kool Kats bedroom we see it's got lots [TS]

00:47:35   of printouts of cool cat taped over [TS]

00:47:37   pictures that have been hung on the wall [TS]

00:47:39   to cover them up [TS]

00:47:40   that's an interesting decorating choice [TS]

00:47:41   to frame and hang a portrait and then [TS]

00:47:43   tape printed out pictures of yourself [TS]

00:47:45   over this seems like a lot of extra work [TS]

00:47:47   something I've been wanting to talk [TS]

00:47:48   about this whole time which leads me [TS]

00:47:50   into the fact that [TS]

00:47:51   this is derek savages own projects that [TS]

00:47:54   he's funding and he's producing he's [TS]

00:47:56   doing everything with his project and [TS]

00:47:57   one can only imagine this is his house [TS]

00:47:59   that he's filming in so why wouldn't he [TS]

00:48:02   go the extra three or four steps to [TS]

00:48:04   actually take down the things that he's [TS]

00:48:07   going to be using the film and then put [TS]

00:48:08   up actually cool cut things its own [TS]

00:48:10   house you can ask what I think that's [TS]

00:48:11   not his house because it doesn't want to [TS]

00:48:14   set things so he he puts take kool Kat [TS]

00:48:16   things over the pictures he put the the [TS]

00:48:19   towels over the headboard of the bed [TS]

00:48:21   right chairman mao did not have that [TS]

00:48:24   many pictures of himself hanging around [TS]

00:48:26   places that kool Kat but also can teach [TS]

00:48:29   us interesting things he gets he gets a [TS]

00:48:31   message that that is makes him angry and [TS]

00:48:35   he anyone to repair a John Doe from john [TS]

00:48:37   dale right up that by the way is wow I [TS]

00:48:40   had email from a John Doe maybe he wants [TS]

00:48:43   to be friends probably just open any [TS]

00:48:46   email you get kids Kevin Spacey I've [TS]

00:48:49   always want to be friends with you this [TS]

00:48:50   Twitter egg might have valuable things [TS]

00:48:52   to say to me make money fast but he has [TS]

00:48:54   an important lesson decision which is [TS]

00:48:56   what i write could stay on the internet [TS]

00:48:57   for a long long time boy that's true [TS]

00:48:59   yeah anyway cool cat goes to sleep at [TS]

00:49:02   very rapidly after this and has a dream [TS]

00:49:05   sequence [TS]

00:49:06   this is the first of several sequences [TS]

00:49:08   where we see kool Kat go to sleep [TS]

00:49:11   yes and wake up this is the only one [TS]

00:49:13   with with a dream sequence and how do we [TS]

00:49:15   know he went to dreamland it says going [TS]

00:49:17   to dreamland yes it's great and it's the [TS]

00:49:19   most coherent part of the movie which i [TS]

00:49:21   think is funny and he talks to the [TS]

00:49:24   audience in dreamland which if that were [TS]

00:49:27   the only time you talk to the camera [TS]

00:49:29   would have made perfect sense that would [TS]

00:49:30   have loved it [TS]

00:49:31   this does can contain my favorite [TS]

00:49:33   individual moment in cool cat saves the [TS]

00:49:37   kids which is which the bullies floating [TS]

00:49:40   head appears ok punches it [TS]

00:49:44   ah it's Zardoz like and it's distressing [TS]

00:49:47   this to the maze there's a little [TS]

00:49:49   sprawling it's great [TS]

00:49:51   cool cat wakes up and he leaves [TS]

00:49:53   dreamland what's really depressing is [TS]

00:49:56   that dream land has a fantastic [TS]

00:49:57   entranceway with rainbows and music and [TS]

00:50:00   it says going to dreamland and then [TS]

00:50:02   dreamland is just black nothingness with [TS]

00:50:04   smoke it [TS]

00:50:04   so depressing and then leaving dreamland [TS]

00:50:06   you get to be treated back to rainbows [TS]

00:50:08   why would you ever dream if you can just [TS]

00:50:10   stay in going to dreamland land road [TS]

00:50:13   thing with all the rainbows it would be [TS]

00:50:15   fantastic but note he has to deal with [TS]

00:50:17   which the bullies flying head on a black [TS]

00:50:19   campus and it's also like the loading [TS]

00:50:20   screen is way better than the actual [TS]

00:50:22   game is what you're saying [TS]

00:50:23   oh yeah that's why I'm pretty sure he's [TS]

00:50:25   got ahold of some bad window pane and [TS]

00:50:27   he's not actually saving 04 could happen [TS]

00:50:30   so he gets up in the morning and daddy [TS]

00:50:34   Derek said has their this incredible [TS]

00:50:37   level of detail here it's like don't [TS]

00:50:38   forget to go out back and say goodbye to [TS]

00:50:40   your mom before we go which we don't see [TS]

00:50:42   and doesn't happen and doesn't matter [TS]

00:50:44   and doesn't go anywhere i don't know why [TS]

00:50:46   that is represent cool cat with a big ol [TS]

00:50:48   bowl of fruit for breakfast his entire [TS]

00:50:50   breakfast consists of a giant bowl of [TS]

00:50:52   fruit cool cats gonna be a rough drive [TS]

00:50:55   to Hollywood is what every day for this [TS]

00:50:57   thing all I wrote in my notes was [TS]

00:50:58   frosting something cool cat screams [TS]

00:51:02   apropos of nothing [TS]

00:51:03   frosty at one point earlier he's shot at [TS]

00:51:06   exquisite for no reason to [TS]

00:51:08   so so the Hollywood trip that before [TS]

00:51:10   they go to Hollywood they have to get in [TS]

00:51:12   the car and this is the point where cool [TS]

00:51:14   cat tries to open and can't do it and [TS]

00:51:18   then while Derek is reading his dialogue [TS]

00:51:20   the man in the cool cat suit reaches in [TS]

00:51:23   and and and opens the door or like pops [TS]

00:51:26   the lock and then opens the door and [TS]

00:51:29   Derek sees him doing this and says oh [TS]

00:51:32   you need some help there oh you got it [TS]

00:51:33   buddy [TS]

00:51:34   and then he goes around the other side [TS]

00:51:35   because it was better just to use that [TS]

00:51:37   take [TS]

00:51:38   then do it again yeah yeah in that it [TS]

00:51:41   and it's the best thing in any scene [TS]

00:51:43   where Derek savages forced to to ad-lib [TS]

00:51:45   and and that is his attempts to play it [TS]

00:51:48   off as though it was planned he says was [TS]

00:51:50   it locked and you can hear the guy in [TS]

00:51:51   the suit is actually a little bit ticked [TS]

00:51:53   off at this point he says yes it was [TS]

00:51:54   daddy Derek Derek response to that as [TS]

00:51:58   well that's for safe for safety purposes [TS]

00:52:00   yeah yeah we keep that door locked so [TS]

00:52:03   that nobody can reach through that wide [TS]

00:52:04   open window [TS]

00:52:06   the door looks the repo man is really on [TS]

00:52:08   my face I put a lot of money into this [TS]

00:52:10   movie oh my god so from a plot [TS]

00:52:13   standpoint here's what happens now they [TS]

00:52:15   drive to Hollywood and immediately turn [TS]

00:52:18   around and drive back home [TS]

00:52:20   yeah cool cat does get out of the car at [TS]

00:52:22   one point in front of the hollywood sign [TS]

00:52:24   and tell us about the grand tastic story [TS]

00:52:26   about the Hollywood parade so so I was [TS]

00:52:29   very angry at a scene that has no [TS]

00:52:31   purpose but I realized what happened was [TS]

00:52:34   part of this video is cool cat at the [TS]

00:52:37   hollywood christmas parade odd and the [TS]

00:52:40   first part of that video was clearly [TS]

00:52:42   this segment of them in Hollywood and [TS]

00:52:45   Derek needed a justification to include [TS]

00:52:47   that so they had to drive to Hollywood [TS]

00:52:49   splice in those scenes of cool cat near [TS]

00:52:53   the hollywood sign and then drive back [TS]

00:52:55   home [TS]

00:52:56   yeah but the reason they went out in the [TS]

00:52:58   earlier phone call was he had some sort [TS]

00:53:00   of appointment in Hollywood but that [TS]

00:53:01   appointment appears to consist of a [TS]

00:53:03   phone you know i'm not sure why he had [TS]

00:53:06   to be in Hollywood they may listen for [TS]

00:53:07   example call it but it seems like they [TS]

00:53:09   set up this Hollywood trip all this way [TS]

00:53:11   and then it is done in a heartbeat [TS]

00:53:13   yeah I had to rewind because i was [TS]

00:53:15   circling this is something nope [TS]

00:53:17   and the whole day is gone yeah it's a [TS]

00:53:18   that's it that's it because Hollywood [TS]

00:53:20   called and once kool Kat to be in [TS]

00:53:22   hollywood parade they come back home to [TS]

00:53:23   tell mama and this is where you get your [TS]

00:53:26   first split screen shot which you can [TS]

00:53:28   tell because the right half of the room [TS]

00:53:29   is mysteriously much darker than the [TS]

00:53:31   left and the kitchen island appears to [TS]

00:53:33   have been damaged in an earthquake [TS]

00:53:34   because it's right side is about an inch [TS]

00:53:36   lower that it's left know so yeah they [TS]

00:53:39   tell mama cat about the good news about [TS]

00:53:41   the the Hollywood parade yeah she's [TS]

00:53:44   skeptical here we get what i think is [TS]

00:53:46   this is a hard 5 thing but I i think i [TS]

00:53:49   think the creepiest line in the movie [TS]

00:53:50   here is is where Derek looks at mama cat [TS]

00:53:54   and says and hey I'm cool with it if you [TS]

00:53:58   are any wink singh [TS]

00:53:59   it's like that has been said so many [TS]

00:54:01   times in this house all of the stuff [TS]

00:54:04   with Derek and mama cat is the floor [TS]

00:54:07   million throws yeah yeah we get you say [TS]

00:54:12   we see Maria kool Kat I think talk to [TS]

00:54:14   Maria on the phone and we see Maria's [TS]

00:54:16   bedroom appears to essentially be in the [TS]

00:54:19   same house as the rest of this movie [TS]

00:54:21   it has a picture of her and kool Kat [TS]

00:54:23   about the best thing about that phone [TS]

00:54:25   call with maria is that he calls her and [TS]

00:54:28   tells her about the thing and says hey [TS]

00:54:29   Murray I've got to go now you're the one [TS]

00:54:31   who did she know all but but he should [TS]

00:54:34   we see that Maria has also has pictures [TS]

00:54:36   of cool cat on such a cat thing to do [TS]

00:54:38   though and when they covering a quote [TS]

00:54:40   behind it that doesn't seem like the [TS]

00:54:41   best plan to bring about 100 that need [TS]

00:54:43   to be covered and then one cool cat [TS]

00:54:44   hangs up the phone it takes a few tries [TS]

00:54:47   for him to get it down because he's got [TS]

00:54:48   big mascot hands again then we get [TS]

00:54:51   another shot of cool cat going to sleep [TS]

00:54:53   indeed as he wakes up and we get a [TS]

00:54:56   little bit of Education which is you [TS]

00:54:57   should brush your teeth right wakes up [TS]

00:55:00   and brush his teeth and talk to the [TS]

00:55:02   camera and tell the camera not to follow [TS]

00:55:04   him into the bathroom [TS]

00:55:05   yeah how can I have some privacy please [TS]

00:55:08   and either the camera is supposed to be [TS]

00:55:09   nodding at this point or the camera and [TS]

00:55:11   just loses it over this hilarious joke [TS]

00:55:13   because it balances all over the place [TS]

00:55:15   like kool Kat thinks we want to see him [TS]

00:55:17   brushes teeth [TS]

00:55:19   yeah you don't know what was on that how [TS]

00:55:21   you he's a mascot he has no teeth [TS]

00:55:24   there are no teeth and one of the [TS]

00:55:25   traffic in fact kool Kat actually like [TS]

00:55:27   was walking to a litter box itself right [TS]

00:55:29   but instead of it instead of a human [TS]

00:55:32   doing well that would have warranted the [TS]

00:55:33   cameraman shaking the camera or sure [TS]

00:55:35   that would have been great [TS]

00:55:37   well the interesting part is later on we [TS]

00:55:39   do see him rushes to do see we we do see [TS]

00:55:42   him brushes teeth that's for later with [TS]

00:55:43   sound effects although there are no [TS]

00:55:44   teeth but we see him use the brushes the [TS]

00:55:47   air where his teeth would be yes that's [TS]

00:55:48   right exactly he has Invisalign Jason [TS]

00:55:50   mama kat's not downstairs because she's [TS]

00:55:52   gone to the beauty parlor with vivica a [TS]

00:55:54   fox stars dance here late for that [TS]

00:55:57   who's introduces yes pick a fight it's [TS]

00:56:00   not she's she's out with vivica or she's [TS]

00:56:03   out with your friend but no no it's we [TS]

00:56:06   have to drop the entire name including [TS]

00:56:08   yeah the initial even butch does it well [TS]

00:56:11   yeah yeah that's that's one of the great [TS]

00:56:13   lines in the movie later but they're [TS]

00:56:15   gonna write their gonna write kool Kat a [TS]

00:56:17   nice song Derek savage takes into the [TS]

00:56:19   computer room where Derek savage writes [TS]

00:56:20   a song by typing furiously on a keyboard [TS]

00:56:23   and the audience watches furiously [TS]

00:56:25   perhaps his word processor Microsoft [TS]

00:56:27   Word case i actually took a screencap of [TS]

00:56:30   the song and I'd like to do a dramatic [TS]

00:56:33   ocean of it now if incidentally that [TS]

00:56:35   screencap of a completely different song [TS]

00:56:37   the one that is probably a second [TS]

00:56:39   something that is performed seconds [TS]

00:56:40   later lyrics are quite different [TS]

00:56:43   this is cool cat song parentheses or [TS]

00:56:46   quote marks cool cat loves to run [TS]

00:56:50   oh does he ever cool cat loves to rock [TS]

00:56:53   yeah cool cats loves to rock [TS]

00:56:58   cool cat loves to play the guitar and [TS]

00:57:03   he looks so cool cool cat was to play [TS]

00:57:07   the drums yeah and he placed them so [TS]

00:57:11   good [TS]

00:57:13   cool cat loves to rock yeah cool cats [TS]

00:57:17   loves to rock [TS]

00:57:20   cool cat loves to play the guitar and he [TS]

00:57:24   looks so cool cool cat loves to play the [TS]

00:57:28   drums yeah and he plays them so good [TS]

00:57:32   yeah Jax is the coolest cat in the world [TS]

00:57:40   he's so cool yes he is right now do it [TS]

00:57:46   again in spanish on for several more [TS]

00:57:47   verses [TS]

00:57:48   yeah this is this sounds like [TS]

00:57:50   affirmation else seriously are you not [TS]

00:57:54   on board with cool cat yet how many [TS]

00:57:56   times do I have to tell you how cool he [TS]

00:57:58   is he's the coolest cat in the world [TS]

00:58:00   which is actually is a light up cat cat [TS]

00:58:03   in the world somewhere there's a [TS]

00:58:04   notebook full of him just writing people [TS]

00:58:06   like kool Kat cool cat is in the loser [TS]

00:58:08   people like Google get kool Kat has [TS]

00:58:11   friends [TS]

00:58:12   cool cat loves you all work and no play [TS]

00:58:14   makes kool Kat adult cat that what [TS]

00:58:17   happened oh yeah he probably doesn't [TS]

00:58:19   those are the lyrics they write in the [TS]

00:58:20   microsoft word yes but what comes out [TS]

00:58:23   what next they actually sing are quite [TS]

00:58:25   so number one then is played Derek [TS]

00:58:27   savages playing his his van Halen [TS]

00:58:30   autographed guitar his unplugged van [TS]

00:58:33   Halen autographed guitar it's [TS]

00:58:35   autographed by the van Halen band so [TS]

00:58:37   what I'm saying is cool cat likes to [TS]

00:58:39   rock and roll [TS]

00:58:40   cool cat likes to love and sing cool cat [TS]

00:58:43   likes to boogie boogie boo hoo cat likes [TS]

00:58:47   to love-ru love you [TS]

00:58:50   la you cool cats singing voice seems a [TS]

00:58:52   little different from speaking voice I'm [TS]

00:58:53   just saying now is this the song where [TS]

00:58:56   he has cool cat is my best friend that [TS]

00:58:59   the actual their body down is cool cast [TS]

00:59:02   wants to be your friend [TS]

00:59:04   kool Kat is your very best friend [TS]

00:59:07   climbing friend with friends yeah us [TS]

00:59:10   that is a medicine songwriting there [TS]

00:59:13   that is some alan jay lerner stuff [TS]

00:59:15   boogie woogie comes up again and again [TS]

00:59:17   and I really believe the derrick savage [TS]

00:59:20   believes that boogie woogie is something [TS]

00:59:23   that anybody under the age of 80 says [TS]

00:59:27   yeah well he also seems to think it's [TS]

00:59:29   rap Latin fusion because the cool cats [TS]

00:59:32   looking song that follows immediately on [TS]

00:59:34   the heels of this one is exactly that it [TS]

00:59:36   is the least boogie-woogie song in the [TS]

00:59:38   history of music it's not very rap [TS]

00:59:40   either because it does not rhyme for a [TS]

00:59:42   long time coming [TS]

00:59:43   good rap reverse but there's a little [TS]

00:59:45   this like yeah it's like a reggae with [TS]

00:59:47   the drum beat and that was introduced he [TS]

00:59:52   he's kind of confused but he's got a [TS]

00:59:54   music video and he goes to the green [TS]

00:59:55   screen room and he says give this an [TS]

00:59:57   urban feel and the picture of the [TS]

00:59:59   seattle's [TS]

00:59:59   seattle's [TS]

01:00:00   I line appears we have been hilarious [TS]

01:00:02   yeah space needle that's the urban feel [TS]

01:00:04   I want this is the opportunity for Derek [TS]

01:00:06   to roll out the entire library of [TS]

01:00:08   license green screen backgrounds that [TS]

01:00:10   have a lot he uses every part of the [TS]

01:00:12   Buffalo here you get your city skates [TS]

01:00:15   you got your flying through space time [TS]

01:00:17   last week in the love of pete rock stars [TS]

01:00:19   love ya I think it takes real guts to [TS]

01:00:22   have a to openly say we have a green [TS]

01:00:25   screen room to see after the dreamland [TS]

01:00:28   sequence now i kinda like I kinda like [TS]

01:00:30   how cool cat is like the remote control [TS]

01:00:33   and does things in the that's that's [TS]

01:00:34   just met enough that I appreciated that [TS]

01:00:36   that that bit things like I got a green [TS]

01:00:39   screen I can make a music video in my [TS]

01:00:40   doubts and wrote down kool Kat knows the [TS]

01:00:42   time of day so he has to know it's time [TS]

01:00:44   for you and me to boogie and I can't [TS]

01:00:47   tell if that was a miracle one of the [TS]

01:00:48   songs or if it's just something i [TS]

01:00:50   started writing my notes because i had [TS]

01:00:53   lost all will to live [TS]

01:00:55   kool Kat fanfic the green screen room [TS]

01:00:57   also leads to a gag at the end when he [TS]

01:00:59   completes his second song he discovers [TS]

01:01:02   that his his mom and daddy Derek are [TS]

01:01:04   watching had been watching him do his [TS]

01:01:06   music video at which point we [TS]

01:01:09   immediately cut too cool cat in the [TS]

01:01:12   hollywood hills and there are he's by [TS]

01:01:13   cars and there's a there's it's the [TS]

01:01:15   Hollywood parade [TS]

01:01:16   there's no yeah it's just there we are [TS]

01:01:19   we've moved along i think him with the [TS]

01:01:21   remote control is my favorite scene of a [TS]

01:01:23   guy in a mascot suit can't operate [TS]

01:01:25   things how can you pick a favor right [TS]

01:01:30   they're all really good see I think for [TS]

01:01:33   me it's when he sits down to color the [TS]

01:01:35   trolley the travelers spews markers [TS]

01:01:37   everyone he's left with one yellow [TS]

01:01:40   highlighter which he somehow users to [TS]

01:01:42   all the reporters colors yep thought it [TS]

01:01:44   was my favorite one so so this is this [TS]

01:01:47   is an amazing section because it appears [TS]

01:01:51   in the Hollywood parade right and it's [TS]

01:01:54   unclear about whether the Hollywood [TS]

01:01:56   parade is something that you pay to get [TS]

01:01:59   into or whether Derek so yes you [TS]

01:02:01   obviously hate it when I mean he might [TS]

01:02:03   have like a friend who got him into it [TS]

01:02:05   but basically yeah it seems like he paid [TS]

01:02:07   to get into it to promote kool Kat and [TS]

01:02:10   so then they used like Steve said every [TS]

01:02:12   part of the buffer [TS]

01:02:13   well we use every bit of footage there [TS]

01:02:15   is where it was on the TV for the [TS]

01:02:19   Hollywood parade and uh in in local TV [TS]

01:02:23   and la presumably and found and stolen [TS]

01:02:26   footage of cool cat just like before the [TS]

01:02:28   parade man in the mascot suit walked [TS]

01:02:30   around to various old vintage cars and [TS]

01:02:33   then later they dubbed in kool Kat [TS]

01:02:35   dialogue as if he was reacting to that [TS]

01:02:37   but they're not vintage cars they're all [TS]

01:02:39   TVL your TV your idealism Aaron yes [TS]

01:02:44   Herbie the Love Bug yeah you got for the [TS]

01:02:47   parents watching her the kids who he [TS]

01:02:49   thinks knows Ghostbusters and Batman who [TS]

01:02:50   like what I we Smokey and the Bandit [TS]

01:02:53   yeah kids love that it's because they [TS]

01:02:55   wanted to use all the footage of the [TS]

01:02:57   parade because Derek savage spent money [TS]

01:03:00   to be in the parade a lot of money to [TS]

01:03:02   get it and he's really proud of it a [TS]

01:03:03   Steve may wanna weigh in here but as I [TS]

01:03:07   grew up in Southern California for a [TS]

01:03:10   chunk of my childhood and this is the [TS]

01:03:12   the actual name of the parade is the [TS]

01:03:14   hollywood christmas parade [TS]

01:03:15   yes it is and in fact it comes up on a [TS]

01:03:17   little overlay during an appearance on [TS]

01:03:19   the screen but they only call it the [TS]

01:03:21   Hollywood parade ya ali antennas the [TS]

01:03:23   crappiest eat it is basically we got [TS]

01:03:28   some movies to promote so here are some [TS]

01:03:29   floats to promote movies and that that [TS]

01:03:31   is the hollywood christmas parade hour [TS]

01:03:33   or its TV shows and it's the actors who [TS]

01:03:36   drew the short straws and have to ride [TS]

01:03:39   in the convertible and why here is the [TS]

01:03:41   kids from Modern Family who can't really [TS]

01:03:44   say no without appearing in this parade [TS]

01:03:46   and O'Neill isn't writing this [TS]

01:03:48   convertible he he told us to go screw [TS]

01:03:51   ourselves when we asked me that in fact [TS]

01:03:53   he wrote into his contract that he will [TS]

01:03:55   not do the hollywood christmas parade [TS]

01:03:56   under any circumstances the hollywood [TS]

01:03:59   christmas christmas parade is actually [TS]

01:04:00   syndicated and I watched the actual [TS]

01:04:04   operate that cool cat appeared in oh no [TS]

01:04:07   I did I did we would still have to know [TS]

01:04:10   this was it really hosted by Erik [TS]

01:04:12   Estrada and whoever that lay down next [TS]

01:04:13   to him was indeed Erik Estrada was the [TS]

01:04:15   host wow oh my god I and I remember [TS]

01:04:18   sitting sitting there watching with my [TS]

01:04:20   wife because we we love watching crappy [TS]

01:04:22   prints and making fun of them [TS]

01:04:24   it is it is what keeps our marriage [TS]

01:04:26   alive so the Macy's parade is great and [TS]

01:04:29   the hollywood christmas parade is [TS]

01:04:30   grateful if you considered first it's ya [TS]

01:04:32   think he will watch the parade next year [TS]

01:04:36   in verses but we were watching it and [TS]

01:04:38   kool Kat comes on and we looked at each [TS]

01:04:39   other and what in what in the hell is [TS]

01:04:42   this because they are and what they're [TS]

01:04:46   talking about [TS]

01:04:46   cool cat likes a thing and Here I am [TS]

01:04:50   Here Slater having watched kool Kat and [TS]

01:04:52   I still have the same question but yeah [TS]

01:04:54   what the hell what is that and this is [TS]

01:04:57   where in the context of the movie it is [TS]

01:04:59   declared kool Kat is the creation of [TS]

01:05:01   Derek savage yes so i assume he's cool [TS]

01:05:05   cats father I do love the the moment [TS]

01:05:07   where they cut a cool cat for his big [TS]

01:05:10   moment where he's going to say something [TS]

01:05:11   get Derek says something to everybody [TS]

01:05:13   and then he can't the the microphones [TS]

01:05:16   cool cat who'd declare is how I know [TS]

01:05:18   what you're gonna sing happy holidays [TS]

01:05:19   but but but [TS]

01:05:20   kool Kat was everyone but uh but Derek [TS]

01:05:23   can't help but mouths words along with [TS]

01:05:27   him it's amazing he does it so many [TS]

01:05:29   times he doesn't in the end too and [TS]

01:05:31   they're all saying goodbye [TS]

01:05:32   if every scene that he's in when [TS]

01:05:34   somebody else says something mama cat [TS]

01:05:35   whoever it is he's always melt in the [TS]

01:05:37   same words it's amazing he just longs to [TS]

01:05:40   be cool cat for some reason in this [TS]

01:05:42   parade they have a cool cat car [TS]

01:05:45   yes yes that has a character this parade [TS]

01:05:47   and is never seen again [TS]

01:05:49   yeah the kool Kat convertible i should [TS]

01:05:50   point out has an ad pointed out in [TS]

01:05:52   several places for all aviation dot-com [TS]

01:05:55   home of the kool Kat harrier spell each [TS]

01:05:58   e.r r.i.p are the whole maybe no three [TS]

01:06:03   times on the car and misspelled it every [TS]

01:06:06   time there's a few great moments of [TS]

01:06:10   incompetents throughout the parade [TS]

01:06:11   there's that there's a bit worried Derek [TS]

01:06:13   is filming the parade crowd and a blonde [TS]

01:06:15   lady runs past yet clearly pans the [TS]

01:06:17   camera follower so you can check out her [TS]

01:06:19   but a lot of the footage is also out of [TS]

01:06:22   focus with yes yeah I because it's him [TS]

01:06:26   it's him striking that pose that lunge [TS]

01:06:28   in the car and the convertible as he [TS]

01:06:30   goes by I wrote down was it [TS]

01:06:31   chaton iphone 4s anyway it is it is [TS]

01:06:36   amazing because it's literally they paid [TS]

01:06:38   to be in the parade and they're gonna [TS]

01:06:39   use all the footage even though it [TS]

01:06:40   doesn't make any sense or have anything [TS]

01:06:42   to do with the movie and this goes back [TS]

01:06:44   to the trailer the trailer promises [TS]

01:06:46   something that it has some messages and [TS]

01:06:49   also some completely random music videos [TS]

01:06:52   and a completely pointless bit where he [TS]

01:06:55   goes to a parade and the movie delivers [TS]

01:06:57   in fact i think the text on the the the [TS]

01:07:00   previous as see cool cat in the [TS]

01:07:02   Hollywood parade like that's the thing [TS]

01:07:04   you've most wanted to see your entire [TS]

01:07:05   life [TS]

01:07:06   now there's a couple couple things we [TS]

01:07:07   need here first off i want to point out [TS]

01:07:09   that what as they as they go through the [TS]

01:07:11   intersection at hollywood and vine a [TS]

01:07:13   graphic just goes on the screen like [TS]

01:07:14   it's in iMovie that says the [TS]

01:07:16   world-famous Hollywood and Vine [TS]

01:07:18   pituitary my note reads sure why not [TS]

01:07:21   just put it up there now is is this like [TS]

01:07:24   the credits is this like the credits in [TS]

01:07:26   comic sans or some very similar font [TS]

01:07:28   because i'm pretty sure that everybody's [TS]

01:07:31   favorite font is in use repeated it is [TS]

01:07:34   something very much like comic sans if [TS]

01:07:35   not common sense dare episode so they [TS]

01:07:38   after the parade suddenly there are here [TS]

01:07:41   there's a scene where Derek and kool Kat [TS]

01:07:42   are about to head home from the parade [TS]

01:07:45   and Derek is in a completely different [TS]

01:07:46   outfit that he was in the parade [TS]

01:07:48   so it's not just Erik Estrada and but [TS]

01:07:51   they only probably soil itself during [TS]

01:07:53   the parade it was very excited cool cat [TS]

01:07:55   and again there's dialogue that there's [TS]

01:07:56   no point being there [TS]

01:07:57   kool Kat says he's very tired and eric [TS]

01:07:59   says I'll help you into the car because [TS]

01:08:01   we know the mascots can open car doors [TS]

01:08:03   you can take a nap on the way home and [TS]

01:08:05   so then they get home immediately it's [TS]

01:08:07   just literally like cut to their at-home [TS]

01:08:09   and-and-and mama cat is there and this [TS]

01:08:11   is where we get the perhaps the one that [TS]

01:08:14   creeps me out the most [TS]

01:08:16   Derek refers to this is cat as my [TS]

01:08:18   fine-looking kitty cat you find looking [TS]

01:08:20   to catch you the correct response to [TS]

01:08:23   that by the way is what she says which [TS]

01:08:24   is Russia you know too sassy you know [TS]

01:08:27   some actors stay in character the whole [TS]

01:08:29   shoot do you think Derek wouldn't let [TS]

01:08:32   the guy in the mascot suit out [TS]

01:08:34   do you really think the guy in the [TS]

01:08:39   mascot suit wants out [TS]

01:08:40   he's got an acting career eastbound on [TS]

01:08:42   sex sent me to the ER in fact in fact [TS]

01:08:44   that the actor who plays kool Kat if you [TS]

01:08:46   look at he's got a website where he's [TS]

01:08:48   going to get according to the great well [TS]

01:08:49   no he's cool cabins credit twice in the [TS]

01:08:51   credits once as kool Kat and once as [TS]

01:08:53   another actor and if you look at his [TS]

01:08:55   demo reel on his website it shows him in [TS]

01:08:58   a in like an independent movie and a [TS]

01:09:01   scene from kool Kat I gotta say he's [TS]

01:09:03   he's very gay [TS]

01:09:05   what he's being asked to do here and [TS]

01:09:06   he's actually somewhat entertaining to [TS]

01:09:08   watch in the goofy stuff there it's a [TS]

01:09:10   physicality of it is all organs [TS]

01:09:12   yeah that you and I wouldn't have [TS]

01:09:14   thought put into that so yeah he's not [TS]

01:09:17   the worst thing in the movie he's not [TS]

01:09:19   the best thing in the movie that would [TS]

01:09:20   be pushed the portfolio established [TS]

01:09:22   already he kept his energy up for the [TS]

01:09:24   whole day and a half of shoes haha yeah [TS]

01:09:27   so okay here we go so we're poolside I [TS]

01:09:30   at the home of maybe vivica a fox I'm [TS]

01:09:34   not sure [TS]

01:09:35   yes it's it's the Monkees focus place [TS]

01:09:37   according to a mama cass state their [TS]

01:09:39   poolside a fox I'm sorry [TS]

01:09:41   vivica a fox and Erik Estrada are [TS]

01:09:43   sitting polls poolside they are in front [TS]

01:09:46   of them is a full glass pitcher of [TS]

01:09:48   lemonade and two plastic cock quotes [TS]

01:09:51   quotes around like these guys are so [TS]

01:09:53   liquored up in this suite is what here's [TS]

01:09:55   the thing is they give maria some of the [TS]

01:09:56   lemonade so so there's already but we [TS]

01:10:00   don't see what's in there comes down [TS]

01:10:01   their cups baby don't have to [TS]

01:10:03   eliminating them someone but lemonade [TS]

01:10:05   lemonade yeah and again Morris maza Tory [TS]

01:10:10   dialogue here here here bye bye [TS]

01:10:12   you know given to us by professional [TS]

01:10:14   actors at one time or another including [TS]

01:10:16   up in the lovely day is made vivica I'm [TS]

01:10:19   surprised he doesn't say isn't vivica a [TS]

01:10:21   fox [TS]

01:10:22   yeah and she's pissed but where is kool [TS]

01:10:24   Kat to itch but where is cool we get the [TS]

01:10:27   response response [TS]

01:10:28   go ahead day he is and its kool Kat I am [TS]

01:10:33   confused by the logistics of the scene [TS]

01:10:35   because they seem to be right in front [TS]

01:10:37   of the pool and yet [TS]

01:10:39   Erik Estrada points out right in front [TS]

01:10:41   of him and when we cut cool cat runs in [TS]

01:10:43   but there's no pool there so it seems to [TS]

01:10:46   be a he's coming out of he's coming out [TS]

01:10:48   of them [TS]

01:10:48   yeah so the pool disappears and [TS]

01:10:52   reappears basically as we go [TS]

01:10:54   they gave him some lemonade which he [TS]

01:10:55   drinks in one gulp and then burps you [TS]

01:10:58   can't just go blast and passed the [TS]

01:10:59   lemonade though [TS]

01:11:00   yeah kool Kat comes in and he asked what [TS]

01:11:04   you should do first and Eric's response [TS]

01:11:06   because he really loves lemonade is how [TS]

01:11:09   would you like a nice cold glass of [TS]

01:11:11   lemonade [TS]

01:11:14   yep it is the most off-line reading I've [TS]

01:11:17   ever seen yet it's so perfect [TS]

01:11:20   the also a good sign when you're in any [TS]

01:11:23   low budget movie is that everybody [TS]

01:11:24   drinks out of plastic because you don't [TS]

01:11:28   want to break the glass because then [TS]

01:11:29   you'd regular class so they're drinking [TS]

01:11:31   out of these and you don't also you also [TS]

01:11:32   don't want to see that vivica a fox and [TS]

01:11:34   Erik Estrada are drinking scotch [TS]

01:11:36   straight up and not so uh Maria is there [TS]

01:11:39   and she wants to play in the sandbox so [TS]

01:11:42   they say good their goodbyes temporarily [TS]

01:11:44   to vivica a fox and Erik Estrada they go [TS]

01:11:47   to the sandbox why the hell does vivica [TS]

01:11:49   a fox have a sandbox apparently vivica a [TS]

01:11:51   fox is toy shovel has survived the [TS]

01:11:53   terrible crime rate [TS]

01:11:54   yeah well it's it's because it's on [TS]

01:11:55   private property or something or is it [TS]

01:11:58   wasn't a wetland or something [TS]

01:12:00   also why are you when a cat play in the [TS]

01:12:03   city and the sandbox I know you just [TS]

01:12:04   have some repairable place to one bad [TS]

01:12:06   move [TS]

01:12:07   yeah that's a good point because but [TS]

01:12:09   which the bully has apparently somehow [TS]

01:12:10   bypass nikkei foxes sophisticated home [TS]

01:12:13   security isn't working in the weeds i [TS]

01:12:15   think if i can point out one flaw [TS]

01:12:19   oh ok did you find me i don't really i [TS]

01:12:22   found with the story really falls apart [TS]

01:12:24   and it's this year comes the nitpicking [TS]

01:12:26   because i'll be the judge it on as jason [TS]

01:12:29   says they're playing in the sandbox and [TS]

01:12:30   then push the bully appears to believe [TS]

01:12:32   them and the key box is going why [TS]

01:12:35   there's a bully we yeah what can we do [TS]

01:12:38   about that and I I'm like vivica a fox [TS]

01:12:41   this is your property yeah you can [TS]

01:12:43   literally have arrested for trespassing [TS]

01:12:47   you can ask him to leave you can say hey [TS]

01:12:50   you get off my land [TS]

01:12:52   well okay in defense of cool cat they're [TS]

01:12:54   not clear at that point whether he's a [TS]

01:12:56   bully or not they think he might be a [TS]

01:12:57   friend of cool cat [TS]

01:12:59   although Erik Estrada is doubtful [TS]

01:13:00   because all of cool cat [TS]

01:13:02   friends are cool and this kid does not [TS]

01:13:04   appear to be pretty cool at all that kid [TS]

01:13:06   looks like that whatever he turns out to [TS]

01:13:08   be he better not be a bully because [TS]

01:13:09   visit a foxhole doesn't let all the [TS]

01:13:12   better not be a bully because i don't [TS]

01:13:14   like bullies in the actual reading of [TS]

01:13:17   the law [TS]

01:13:17   yeah oh yeah I didn't think a father and [TS]

01:13:19   she knows it narrows her eyes it's a [TS]

01:13:21   nice she's trying to sort of here [TS]

01:13:25   I don't like bullies I think she's [TS]

01:13:27   rocking it to be honest with you [TS]

01:13:28   she's probably the second best [TS]

01:13:30   performance after bush tried to put [TS]

01:13:32   smurfy yeah well and remember she's got [TS]

01:13:35   to do it sitting next to Erik Estrada [TS]

01:13:36   who's talking about lemonade [TS]

01:13:38   yeah Oh Erik Estrada gives off just I [TS]

01:13:41   don't care fine tearing this whatever [TS]

01:13:45   just feed me the lines line if they had [TS]

01:13:48   one step up if they had left in footage [TS]

01:13:50   of him screen lineup at a production [TS]

01:13:52   assistant you go ahead Derek you send [TS]

01:13:55   those pictures into the enquirer I don't [TS]

01:13:57   have a career now anyway [TS]

01:13:58   Erik Estrada might think the love boat [TS]

01:14:00   is still filled possible which the bully [TS]

01:14:03   appears he does not like sand castles so [TS]

01:14:06   he kicked over the sand castle which was [TS]

01:14:08   in the trailer by the way I think the [TS]

01:14:10   end as i said earlier about the [TS]

01:14:12   geography and the scene is very weird [TS]

01:14:14   butch kicks the sam cassell away from [TS]

01:14:19   kool Kat but kool Kat reacts as if the [TS]

01:14:21   sand has been kicked in his face with [TS]

01:14:24   all which doesn't really make any sense [TS]

01:14:26   and this is yet another immortal line [TS]

01:14:29   reading from Erik Estrada which is that [TS]

01:14:31   kicks and cool cat face I think we [TS]

01:14:34   better go save them [TS]

01:14:36   he produces he he pronounces roughly 18 [TS]

01:14:40   of the number of letter in that first [TS]

01:14:42   put them up on which the bully [TS]

01:14:44   I think slightly which fleas and area [TS]

01:14:48   Erik Estrada and vivica a fox go over to [TS]

01:14:50   check on kool Kat and kool Kat explains [TS]

01:14:55   in a line right out of the trailer that [TS]

01:14:56   I still love I got scared and became [TS]

01:14:59   confused as to which eric tells the [TS]

01:15:01   story and Erik Estrada says would you [TS]

01:15:04   like to know what vivica did to stop her [TS]

01:15:06   bully this is erica reminding vivica [TS]

01:15:08   that Derek Savage has dirt on her too [TS]

01:15:11   yeah would you both like to hear what [TS]

01:15:13   physical did think about the virus goes [TS]

01:15:15   hey you said you were going to mention [TS]

01:15:17   that so we learned the solution to a [TS]

01:15:19   bully as you yell at them very loud with [TS]

01:15:21   and they will run away [TS]

01:15:22   that's right the key anti-bullying [TS]

01:15:24   strategy is yell at them loudly yeah now [TS]

01:15:27   Maria has a story about a bully to which [TS]

01:15:31   is continues to lurk in the background [TS]

01:15:34   he tries to steal their lunch money [TS]

01:15:35   which is very strange because they're [TS]

01:15:37   visiting vivica a fox and playing in her [TS]

01:15:40   swimming pool and her sandbox [TS]

01:15:42   so why would they bring lunch money is [TS]

01:15:43   Vivica Fox charge for lunch [TS]

01:15:46   I don't know know that he wanted vivica [TS]

01:15:48   a fox is lunch money which would be to [TS]

01:15:50   300 bucks for a very fancy months and [TS]

01:15:52   Holly yeah that's right spot goes on [TS]

01:15:54   foot but they learned their lesson [TS]

01:15:55   immediately again from what vivica and [TS]

01:15:58   Eric have told them they they stand up [TS]

01:16:00   to push the bully [TS]

01:16:01   maria says I'm going to tell my mom you [TS]

01:16:03   yelled at me there's a horrible jump cut [TS]

01:16:05   of editing and butch is gone and Vivica [TS]

01:16:08   and Erik Estrada comeback by the way all [TS]

01:16:10   the scenes were vivica and Erik Estrada [TS]

01:16:12   or their shot at a completely different [TS]

01:16:14   time of day from the rest of the scenes [TS]

01:16:16   because they only had them for a short [TS]

01:16:17   amount of time and then at the end of [TS]

01:16:20   the scene again cool cat turns to the [TS]

01:16:22   camera and declares i love you and [TS]

01:16:24   together we can stop bullying yeah and [TS]

01:16:27   all raise their fists in victory then [TS]

01:16:29   the triumphant theme music cuts off like [TS]

01:16:31   three seconds before the CT I'm gonna [TS]

01:16:33   I'm gonna refer to my notes again here [TS]

01:16:34   and i hope that i transcribe this [TS]

01:16:37   properly and that this isn't just [TS]

01:16:38   something I wrote because my brain was [TS]

01:16:40   fun but I believed Bush says that dark [TS]

01:16:44   with a fox and Erik Estrada met Harriet [TS]

01:16:47   up messed up throughout this movie there [TS]

01:16:51   will be sometimes super cheerful chipper [TS]

01:16:54   annoying music going for no reason dude [TS]

01:16:56   and then i'll just cut off in the middle [TS]

01:16:58   of the scene of a sound editing here and [TS]

01:17:00   in the trailer the thing that I noticed [TS]

01:17:01   and and partially because I do a lot of [TS]

01:17:03   sound editing now because i do podcast [TS]

01:17:04   stuff but the trailer and the movie both [TS]

01:17:07   have kind of poor sound editing at many [TS]

01:17:09   points and the music you see you notice [TS]

01:17:11   that a lot [TS]

01:17:12   there's a fascinating seen later on [TS]

01:17:14   where we and they also cycle through [TS]

01:17:16   those those songs they've got they've [TS]

01:17:18   got the cool cat songs and they play the [TS]

01:17:20   kool Kat songs over and over again [TS]

01:17:22   sometimes many times in a scene [TS]

01:17:24   there's a scene later on where there's [TS]

01:17:26   some music playing that is like [TS]

01:17:29   underlying everything there's like as if [TS]

01:17:31   there's music playing in the background [TS]

01:17:32   except i think it's a cool cat song but [TS]

01:17:34   while that music is playing in the [TS]

01:17:36   background something happens and other [TS]

01:17:38   music plays to score the thing that's [TS]

01:17:41   happening in the foreground but the [TS]

01:17:43   other music never stops it's still going [TS]

01:17:45   on in the background never seen that [TS]

01:17:48   before in a movie where there's just two [TS]

01:17:50   competing sense of music happening [TS]

01:17:53   simultaneously very avant-garde [TS]

01:17:56   I like that they sprung for a pair of [TS]

01:17:58   angry eyebrows for cool cat yes which he [TS]

01:18:01   has on well before birth which turns up [TS]

01:18:03   the second time so he's he's really [TS]

01:18:05   pissed off about that sandcastle East [TS]

01:18:07   reality our sandcastle stupid castle we [TS]

01:18:11   saw a toy shovel but you make it a very [TS]

01:18:15   good point to fill that immediately upon [TS]

01:18:17   leaving in tears but the bully is [TS]

01:18:19   talking about how cool cat escaped [TS]

01:18:21   nothing yet [TS]

01:18:22   so in other words yelling at the bully [TS]

01:18:25   solved nothing and bushes just going to [TS]

01:18:27   redouble his efforts now so good work [TS]

01:18:29   everybody we did it when they go home [TS]

01:18:31   there is a cool cat finds an [TS]

01:18:34   entertainment magazine 30 minutes the [TS]

01:18:38   lower who one of derek's entertainment [TS]

01:18:40   magazines it has a headline over the [TS]

01:18:43   face on it ever be very act out that's [TS]

01:18:47   how it totally works it will actually if [TS]

01:18:49   you if you freeze frame that you'll [TS]

01:18:50   notice that a bunch of stuff is like [TS]

01:18:51   blurred out too so it's a very [TS]

01:18:54   questionable cover but if there's a [TS]

01:18:57   writing can't contest in there [TS]

01:18:58   apparently and so cool cat decides he's [TS]

01:19:01   going to enter the writing contest so he [TS]

01:19:04   decides to create something called [TS]

01:19:05   trolley the trout which is it turns out [TS]

01:19:08   of another character created by Derek [TS]

01:19:11   savage he has writer's block he [TS]

01:19:13   struggles with writer's block and so he [TS]

01:19:15   does is we all do when we are having [TS]

01:19:17   trouble writing he does some exercise [TS]

01:19:19   and this brian you can check the box [TS]

01:19:20   with cool cats going to teach us about [TS]

01:19:21   exercise [TS]

01:19:22   oh he does his exercises jumping jacks [TS]

01:19:24   he does foreshadow boxing's he does for [TS]

01:19:27   jumps on a pretend jump rope and he's [TS]

01:19:31   done this is the part of my notes we're [TS]

01:19:33   out large swathes of cool cat where [TS]

01:19:35   nothing happens [TS]

01:19:36   yeah well he does [TS]

01:19:38   exercise he he he then decides to get [TS]

01:19:41   back to work riding a trolley the trout [TS]

01:19:43   and takes a long time to struggle to [TS]

01:19:45   pick up the notebook and a pen in his [TS]

01:19:47   big mascot and and rips off a pick-up [TS]

01:19:51   age of the notebook in from the process [TS]

01:19:53   it is really it's really amazing so if [TS]

01:19:56   you keeping track cool cat heads out to [TS]

01:19:58   write his book or just after eleven [TS]

01:20:01   o'clock because you can clearly see the [TS]

01:20:03   clock on the wall when he goes outside [TS]

01:20:04   and he gets called in by Derek as it's [TS]

01:20:07   getting dark so since we're in Los [TS]

01:20:10   Angeles and roughly Thanksgiving time [TS]

01:20:13   it's probably about five o'clock they [TS]

01:20:15   were there is ripping now so he's been [TS]

01:20:17   out there maybe 5-6 hours and i assume [TS]

01:20:21   roughly two-thirds of that time was [TS]

01:20:22   spent attempting and failing to pick up [TS]

01:20:24   the I think it's probably through so [TS]

01:20:27   hehe now is going to draw a little bit [TS]

01:20:29   the he he picks up pens and warlike [TS]

01:20:34   drops a bunch of them and only one pan [TS]

01:20:36   remains in his hand but he manages to [TS]

01:20:39   draw this thing that's prolly the trout [TS]

01:20:41   and we get a cut we get a picture of a [TS]

01:20:43   very much in a cut-away and you can see [TS]

01:20:46   actually that it says trolley the trout [TS]

01:20:48   and and right over cool cats hand is [TS]

01:20:50   trying to obscure it but it actually [TS]

01:20:52   says by dare and it's very clearly by [TS]

01:20:55   there he is or 10 Phillies average so he [TS]

01:21:00   does know what an insert shot is he [TS]

01:21:02   could have used that on that stupid kool [TS]

01:21:03   Kat for school president later i'm still [TS]

01:21:05   mad about from the beginning of anyone [TS]

01:21:07   at this point cool cat once again turns [TS]

01:21:09   to the cameras see you tomorrow bye [TS]

01:21:11   before we can't go past this little bit [TS]

01:21:13   i have to point out in the scene where [TS]

01:21:15   Derek calls in a calls in cool cat for [TS]

01:21:18   his 6pm at that time [TS]

01:21:19   yeah it in in the scenes where you see [TS]

01:21:22   Derek savage from the front [TS]

01:21:24   he's wearing a dark green shirt when you [TS]

01:21:26   see him from behind he is wearing a [TS]

01:21:28   light blue shirt and it cuts directly [TS]

01:21:30   from one to the other with no [TS]

01:21:33   intervening CR back to the left and this [TS]

01:21:37   goes on maybe like seven different cuts [TS]

01:21:39   its to Wes wonders and then the most [TS]

01:21:42   disturbing babymoon happy it [TS]

01:21:46   swirly somewhat disturbing once you uh [TS]

01:21:48   once you once you don't do it once you [TS]

01:21:51   look for it on shutterstock it isn't [TS]

01:21:52   scary anymore it's on shutterstock [TS]

01:21:54   anybody can use all right but but here's [TS]

01:21:56   here's something I gotta bring up which [TS]

01:21:57   is that in the original version of cool [TS]

01:22:00   cat he uses the shutterstock thing and [TS]

01:22:04   he put it in backwards so that as the [TS]

01:22:06   moon goes by it's sucking in the letter [TS]

01:22:08   Z instead of blowing down as it sleeps [TS]

01:22:10   in the night sky better go talk some z's [TS]

01:22:16   as the saying goes let's say to the moon [TS]

01:22:18   eats your sleep [TS]

01:22:20   so it's it's like a farm in the [TS]

01:22:23   countryside that we're seeing there so [TS]

01:22:25   it has no connection with the suburban [TS]

01:22:27   location of cool cat [TS]

01:22:29   now that's the one houses on the [TS]

01:22:31   hillside in the fucking intense and that [TS]

01:22:33   this is where we do see kool Kat brushes [TS]

01:22:36   teeth bet he doesn't have this time he's [TS]

01:22:39   given up on the concept of privacy he [TS]

01:22:41   realizes his life is a movie we are [TS]

01:22:44   watching it [TS]

01:22:45   his every move Google is everywhere [TS]

01:22:47   there's no sense in getting to hide [TS]

01:22:49   everything is the truman show after four [TS]

01:22:52   or five cats [TS]

01:22:53   we tried that with MC skat Kat did not [TS]

01:22:56   go well when he wakes up before he does [TS]

01:22:58   the tooth brushing and gives us his [TS]

01:22:59   advice he says it's such a beautiful day [TS]

01:23:02   and i love to have fun beautiful days [TS]

01:23:04   that's just the kind of guy kool Kat is [TS]

01:23:05   andy just more exercises he just for [TS]

01:23:07   jumping jacks and four squats and then [TS]

01:23:09   he's done yes that's it [TS]

01:23:11   it's a brisk exercise routine brushing [TS]

01:23:13   it goes downstairs talk to mom-mom again [TS]

01:23:15   continues to be dubbed in its really [TS]

01:23:17   weird she calls him honey child at one [TS]

01:23:20   point yes and then and then Derek daddy [TS]

01:23:24   Derek gives him [TS]

01:23:25   kool Kat some very important advice [TS]

01:23:27   which is stay in the front yard so we [TS]

01:23:29   know where you're at right [TS]

01:23:31   we also have one of the most distressing [TS]

01:23:32   flirtations in the movie at breakfast [TS]

01:23:34   time where Derek looks at mama cat who's [TS]

01:23:36   served up a plate of food and says [TS]

01:23:37   that's looking good i hope i get a plate [TS]

01:23:41   of that [TS]

01:23:42   yeah she says oh hi shop is what i just [TS]

01:23:45   said it's looking good [TS]

01:23:46   it is the creepiest expression [TS]

01:23:48   understand it was a weird thing with his [TS]

01:23:50   body to he does this like shimmy ya know [TS]

01:23:53   they're there [TS]

01:23:54   there's a lot going on in that scene [TS]

01:23:56   that I feel like there was a rerun of [TS]

01:23:57   Alice [TS]

01:23:58   and while he was writing this segment he [TS]

01:24:00   just copy down flows dialogue we've all [TS]

01:24:03   experienced this cool cat wakes up with [TS]

01:24:05   the inspiration for the last line of his [TS]

01:24:07   book which is it turns out is trolley [TS]

01:24:09   the trout makes another year and which [TS]

01:24:12   as we've seen during his day long [TS]

01:24:13   writing exercise yesterday also happens [TS]

01:24:16   to be every other line of his books so [TS]

01:24:19   good job cool cat before we move from [TS]

01:24:21   the scene i want to point out that this [TS]

01:24:22   is one of the only times the movie we [TS]

01:24:24   get to see daddy Derek and mama cat [TS]

01:24:26   together alone in a scene and I [TS]

01:24:28   desperately wanted them to cut away as [TS]

01:24:31   fast as possible [TS]

01:24:32   I was terrified of what I did you did [TS]

01:24:35   you forget you black out the part where [TS]

01:24:37   he hugs her earlier and goes oh yeah [TS]

01:24:40   apparently I did [TS]

01:24:42   coquette declares his love of boogie [TS]

01:24:43   woogie again because that is totally [TS]

01:24:45   timely happy [TS]

01:24:47   what's the Anderson Maria and Mikey come [TS]

01:24:51   by mikey has gotten a new ball that [TS]

01:24:53   bounces really high [TS]

01:24:55   Oh Mikey but he bounces it off his foot [TS]

01:24:57   into the street and almost runs out into [TS]

01:25:00   a car to which kool Kat says look both [TS]

01:25:03   ways before you got into the street and [TS]

01:25:04   Mikey's responses well I learned my [TS]

01:25:06   lesson [TS]

01:25:07   I'm always going to look both ways ok [TS]

01:25:09   that one's done taking care no no no the [TS]

01:25:11   great part about that scene is mikey run [TS]

01:25:13   out into the street to cocaine because [TS]

01:25:15   as kool Kat and Maria bait whether he's [TS]

01:25:18   going to be safer [TS]

01:25:20   should we tell him i don't know probably [TS]

01:25:22   let him know that a car is coming [TS]

01:25:25   yes I don't know he's using individual [TS]

01:25:28   capable of making his own decisions and [TS]

01:25:30   events that eventually they do warn him [TS]

01:25:33   and he's he say because why is it right [TS]

01:25:36   tragedy in the one instance of the film [TS]

01:25:39   were kool Kat actually saves a kid [TS]

01:25:40   through and immediately after this [TS]

01:25:43   important lesson [TS]

01:25:45   kool Kat springs directly into the [TS]

01:25:46   street without looking both ways he did [TS]

01:25:48   Monty in the original version of cool [TS]

01:25:51   cat saves the kids but you'll find in [TS]

01:25:53   this version version 2 dot o that there [TS]

01:25:56   is a micro second clip of cool cat that [TS]

01:25:59   cuts very obtrusively into that scene [TS]

01:26:02   where he looks to the left and look to [TS]

01:26:03   the right very quickly I i can't believe [TS]

01:26:06   i didn't mention that I'm that I in [TS]

01:26:08   in the scene with daddy Derek mama cat [TS]

01:26:10   earlier they do the dishes and again [TS]

01:26:13   mascot hand the entire doing the dishes [TS]

01:26:16   is that she has one very large plastic [TS]

01:26:18   cup that she barely manages to hand to [TS]

01:26:21   him and that was her [TS]

01:26:23   it's an interesting division of labor in [TS]

01:26:24   the cat household and he's at cleaning [TS]

01:26:26   it either he's just rubbing it with a [TS]

01:26:27   towel like a bartender with nothing and [TS]

01:26:32   he's really proud of our hand him that [TS]

01:26:33   cup 2 is a good job that's a good 1i [TS]

01:26:36   squawking teams manage our hands [TS]

01:26:39   that's good it's a terrible condition [TS]

01:26:42   really we should be making light of it [TS]

01:26:43   you or somebody you know as mascot what [TS]

01:26:47   state of journalism have we reached in [TS]

01:26:50   news radio because we get the [TS]

01:26:53   neighborhood news alerts here that are [TS]

01:26:57   that are apparently being read by a guy [TS]

01:26:59   just standing off camera and it's a [TS]

01:27:02   candy thief has struck again at help [TS]

01:27:04   police [TS]

01:27:05   somebody's been stealing candy from [TS]

01:27:06   Yankees that can be raised again all the [TS]

01:27:10   kids are crying uh-huh [TS]

01:27:12   bb2 starts beware crook and and the [TS]

01:27:17   their their friends from earlier Madison [TS]

01:27:19   now unnamed says a boy took my candy in [TS]

01:27:22   my school boys now I'll have nothing to [TS]

01:27:24   read read it errored ten-year-old baby [TS]

01:27:27   it's like he vanished [TS]

01:27:29   they say nobody has actually seen him [TS]

01:27:31   behind but it'll be still be shocked [TS]

01:27:35   when the big reveal happens and it turns [TS]

01:27:36   out that but fully was responding Steve [TS]

01:27:38   come on spoiler alert a kid one time [TS]

01:27:40   sorry said while hartnett all the books [TS]

01:27:43   that he's right there and the camera [TS]

01:27:44   pans over to butch who's standing on the [TS]

01:27:47   sidewalk cackling evilly which is great [TS]

01:27:50   rubbing his hands together including [TS]

01:27:51   gonna put any book and he declares that [TS]

01:27:55   that he throws candy on the sidewalk and [TS]

01:27:57   says this candy will trip him and you'll [TS]

01:27:59   fall flat on his face right and runs [TS]

01:28:02   away [TS]

01:28:02   what a great plan it's great and so cool [TS]

01:28:05   cat decides to chase Butch and he does [TS]

01:28:07   it through blurry vision where right [TS]

01:28:09   cool cat is suddenly all blurry and [TS]

01:28:13   stuff [TS]

01:28:14   radiating rays of light or something [TS]

01:28:16   yeah yes well no it'sit's those it's his [TS]

01:28:18   super power that enables him to make an [TS]

01:28:20   epic jump over a tiny [TS]

01:28:21   I loved candy and one border and [TS]

01:28:23   understand this plan of stealing stuff [TS]

01:28:25   and then using that stuff as an obstacle [TS]

01:28:28   so you can get away but you end up [TS]

01:28:30   without the kandyan book i think the [TS]

01:28:32   plan all along was to trip up kool Kat [TS]

01:28:34   because remember he was he's he left [TS]

01:28:37   vivica Fox's and erik estradas issuing [TS]

01:28:39   revenge vowing revenge and so this is [TS]

01:28:41   that was it all along irony of ironies [TS]

01:28:42   Bush doesn't look both ways when he's [TS]

01:28:44   crossing the street and runs right into [TS]

01:28:46   a holy scar and the police just telling [TS]

01:28:49   the cop the cop gets out of the car and [TS]

01:28:51   says what are you doing kid and then [TS]

01:28:53   just put them in the car doesn't ask me [TS]

01:28:55   saying doesn't know anything how does he [TS]

01:28:57   know that he's the candy thief we know [TS]

01:29:00   and no explanation of any of that [TS]

01:29:02   obviously kool Kat tipped them off [TS]

01:29:03   because there's a sequel captain say [TS]

01:29:05   thanks for your help cool cat that was [TS]

01:29:07   very heroic [TS]

01:29:08   I prefer to think that butch is just [TS]

01:29:09   going straight to jail for the heinous [TS]

01:29:10   crime of being hit by a police cruiser [TS]

01:29:12   yeah I so they're encouraging you to [TS]

01:29:15   chase children into the street yep [TS]

01:29:18   good job little maybe he'll get my scars [TS]

01:29:22   yeah being brought to jail yet so I'm at [TS]

01:29:23   it [TS]

01:29:24   problem solved boy stop legend of mana [TS]

01:29:26   it's gonna be put in the mechanic our [TS]

01:29:28   problem problem totally solved they go [TS]

01:29:30   home [TS]

01:29:31   roughly four minutes have passed since [TS]

01:29:32   breakfast and now it's time for Derek to [TS]

01:29:34   come out and tell this timeline so Maria [TS]

01:29:36   says and and this is actually what she [TS]

01:29:38   says [TS]

01:29:39   yeah that was groovy uh-huh [TS]

01:29:42   we should make a movie about you will [TS]

01:29:44   call it cool cat saves the kids this is [TS]

01:29:47   not the only time the word groovy shows [TS]

01:29:49   you know not cool cat is a hero and he's [TS]

01:29:52   my best friend [TS]

01:29:53   so it's lunch time they play that kool [TS]

01:29:55   Kat music in the background again [TS]

01:29:57   kool Kat like yeah mhm or its but note [TS]

01:30:00   that we have another scene here where [TS]

01:30:01   mama cat is in the same room at school [TS]

01:30:03   yet yeah here we go we've got another [TS]

01:30:07   difference between two dot 0 and 1 dot 0 [TS]

01:30:10   previously the split screen shot went [TS]

01:30:13   straight down the side of the doorway [TS]

01:30:15   that Derek savage walks in on but [TS]

01:30:17   apparently he missed the fact that the [TS]

01:30:19   front three inches of cool cats knees [TS]

01:30:21   were uncertain obviously sliced off in [TS]

01:30:24   that version of it so if you look [TS]

01:30:25   closely into dotto you can see the place [TS]

01:30:27   where the split-screen line comes down [TS]

01:30:29   makes a complete right-angle turn just [TS]

01:30:33   far enough to cover the cool cats knees [TS]

01:30:35   and then goes down again now you lose [TS]

01:30:37   Derek savages feet but they're not as [TS]

01:30:39   important [TS]

01:30:40   I actually impressed that he went to [TS]

01:30:42   this much effort because this is not a [TS]

01:30:43   movie that requires special effects but [TS]

01:30:46   for some reason it was really important [TS]

01:30:48   to him to create the illusion of having [TS]

01:30:49   two cat costumes and this scene is not [TS]

01:30:54   badly done made they seem to be having a [TS]

01:30:58   conversation [TS]

01:30:59   except for Maria's hair flopping across [TS]

01:31:01   the line [TS]

01:31:03   I like how much effort he went two for a [TS]

01:31:06   completely pointless effect right so [TS]

01:31:08   apparently we've reached the point where [TS]

01:31:09   we've wrapped around the side where we [TS]

01:31:11   think this isn't that bad [TS]

01:31:12   I'm like so this is where he spent all [TS]

01:31:14   his effort was meticulously doing this [TS]

01:31:17   yep screen rather than finding another [TS]

01:31:19   cancer [TS]

01:31:20   yeah and it holds up for a good minute [TS]

01:31:22   or two if you take a screenshot look at [TS]

01:31:24   that doesn't that doesn't need to look [TS]

01:31:25   exactly like kool Kat they could have [TS]

01:31:27   gotten a different cat suit and it would [TS]

01:31:29   have been fine [TS]

01:31:30   she could have been a person and it was [TS]

01:31:32   a bed 51 of his parents is already a [TS]

01:31:35   paper due [TS]

01:31:36   okay you got it you you win actually [TS]

01:31:39   more than fine it would have made so [TS]

01:31:41   much of this movie so much less [TS]

01:31:42   uncomfortable but a speaking of time how [TS]

01:31:46   they just had breakfast and now it's [TS]

01:31:47   time for lunch and also the radio news [TS]

01:31:51   reveals that the candy crook has been [TS]

01:31:52   released the police were forced to let [TS]

01:31:54   him go because of a lack of evidence so [TS]

01:31:57   in in the last 10 minutes essentially [TS]

01:31:59   which has been released so the crook the [TS]

01:32:02   crook ate all the candy according to the [TS]

01:32:04   reporter we're completely disregarding [TS]

01:32:07   that help you pile he dropped on the [TS]

01:32:08   sidewalk a few feet from where he was [TS]

01:32:10   arrested which the cop clearly would [TS]

01:32:12   have seen no evidence there are [TS]

01:32:13   witnesses you want to swear cool cat in [TS]

01:32:16   you know [TS]

01:32:16   kool Kat can't put his hand on a Bible [TS]

01:32:18   he can you can rub it across we can make [TS]

01:32:22   a lovely poster and ok we're into the [TS]

01:32:25   were into the next segment now which is [TS]

01:32:27   gun safety how ya so Mikey decides it's [TS]

01:32:32   time is it Mikey decides it's time to [TS]

01:32:34   it's mikey two were to play treasure [TS]

01:32:36   hunters you perhaps know him from his [TS]

01:32:38   bouncy ball is he chased into the [TS]

01:32:40   defining characteristic I let's play [TS]

01:32:43   treasure hunters and look for stuff like [TS]

01:32:45   on tv [TS]

01:32:46   so now that lunch is over they can [TS]

01:32:48   finally go do that [TS]

01:32:49   that so the first step of treasure [TS]

01:32:50   hunters is to find love your way I see [TS]

01:32:52   it is it seems like every treasure [TS]

01:32:53   hunter has what I'm sure you recall [TS]

01:32:55   Indiana Jones that we got that one [TS]

01:32:57   telling quarter mates stick of lock this [TS]

01:32:59   is the part where I was angry at the [TS]

01:33:01   trailer for spoiling the exciting [TS]

01:33:03   conclusion of what they would find when [TS]

01:33:05   they went treasure hunting because i [TS]

01:33:06   already knew what it was going to be [TS]

01:33:07   it's a gun [TS]

01:33:09   it's a real gun now I should point out [TS]

01:33:12   that at this point there in cool Pat's [TS]

01:33:14   back your yard with to me just raises [TS]

01:33:17   more disturbing questions about the [TS]

01:33:18   nature of the cat family is this some [TS]

01:33:20   previously unseen facet of their sexy [TS]

01:33:22   play why do they have a gun in there you [TS]

01:33:24   also it's not like it's it's a gun that [TS]

01:33:26   is actually a working gun people would [TS]

01:33:29   use today it it's like one of those [TS]

01:33:32   fancy deerhunter Russian Roulette guns [TS]

01:33:36   that you use to without with the [TS]

01:33:40   rotating chamber it seems like it's a [TS]

01:33:42   very outdated gun is my plants while the [TS]

01:33:45   kid was Mikey was looking straight at [TS]

01:33:48   ten can asking it was an antique and [TS]

01:33:50   then it turns out they find an antique [TS]

01:33:51   guns [TS]

01:33:52   yeah it's probably worth a lot they [TS]

01:33:54   should be happy about it so who knows [TS]

01:33:56   what how it got in the backyard [TS]

01:33:58   obviously this backyard is accessible to [TS]

01:34:00   everyone because Bush the bully is [TS]

01:34:01   lurking in the backyard and when they go [TS]

01:34:03   to tell daddy Derek about the big time [TS]

01:34:07   it's like it's like novocaine foxes [TS]

01:34:09   backyard where apparently there's some [TS]

01:34:11   public easement that on the house you [TS]

01:34:13   free passage [TS]

01:34:14   yeah that's for the best your heart no [TS]

01:34:16   offense can stop push the bully he knows [TS]

01:34:18   no bounds yeah this is the one time I [TS]

01:34:20   want to criticize bitches character [TS]

01:34:23   motivations because he sees the gun and [TS]

01:34:25   the first thought is he can take it to [TS]

01:34:27   school and take everyone's lunch money [TS]

01:34:28   but come on set your sights a little [TS]

01:34:30   higher you have done you can do so much [TS]

01:34:32   more than that you can go show Erik [TS]

01:34:35   Estrada and vivica a fox that's right it [TS]

01:34:38   looks like what a wonder is a gun what a [TS]

01:34:41   versatile invention [TS]

01:34:43   first of all when you have a gun [TS]

01:34:45   everybody pays attention [TS]

01:34:48   Stephen Sondheim yokes of course which [TS]

01:34:51   takes the gun he utters that classic [TS]

01:34:53   kids favorite phrase it's going to be [TS]

01:34:56   fat time for me personally but it's [TS]

01:35:00   always fat [TS]

01:35:01   or something very similar to that I [TS]

01:35:03   frankly have no idea what the balloons [TS]

01:35:05   at any point is very hard to say what [TS]

01:35:07   he's saying but I did I idea might be [TS]

01:35:09   far time for him i don't know enjoy him [TS]

01:35:11   though my notes have stopped because I [TS]

01:35:13   had been beating somebody might note [TS]

01:35:15   here Steve your present is my note here [TS]

01:35:17   just says but the bullies the best actor [TS]

01:35:19   in this whole thing as long as you can [TS]

01:35:21   understand him right so he's the worst [TS]

01:35:24   kind of this yeah i know that we're not [TS]

01:35:26   staying here [TS]

01:35:27   no no it doesn't matter that you can't [TS]

01:35:28   understand him you just know what he [TS]

01:35:30   said [TS]

01:35:30   see it's it doesn't want got guys gun [TS]

01:35:33   has no artisan else in it so he sees [TS]

01:35:35   clear on pronounced Derek cousin put too [TS]

01:35:38   much his dad which is weird because it [TS]

01:35:39   is very much sounds like but which is [TS]

01:35:41   dead is standing behind the camera [TS]

01:35:43   reading his dialogue he calls but his [TS]

01:35:46   dad James the place it's a family man [TS]

01:35:48   who says you look into it but he's [TS]

01:35:51   clearly going to blow enough very [TS]

01:35:52   clearly gonna point it off we get the we [TS]

01:35:55   get the shutterstock Sun and Moon video [TS]

01:35:57   a second time [TS]

01:35:59   right-o at this point in the in the [TS]

01:36:02   morning cool cat gets up we know he's [TS]

01:36:03   slept again but we haven't seen to [TS]

01:36:05   dreamland this time daddy Derek wakes [TS]

01:36:07   him up and at one point he gives cook a [TS]

01:36:10   pep talk at one point he calls cool cat [TS]

01:36:12   tiger and I just for him that's weird [TS]

01:36:15   because he's a cat [TS]

01:36:16   easy tiger so then we get the the very [TS]

01:36:20   next scene is that the the two kids kool [TS]

01:36:22   Kat and daddy Derek walking to school [TS]

01:36:24   because he's walking the mall to school [TS]

01:36:25   because he said he would yesterday and [TS]

01:36:27   it's in slow motion [TS]

01:36:29   I'm gonna throw a flag here again this [TS]

01:36:31   is terrible at fuckies because we know [TS]

01:36:35   that's the maniac has a gun i'm gonna [TS]

01:36:38   walk you to school walking to school [TS]

01:36:40   kids so that all of us are target yeah [TS]

01:36:42   shit what what part of shelter in place [TS]

01:36:45   has air but they did they walk him to [TS]

01:36:49   school in slow motion with music playing [TS]

01:36:51   like it's a Quentin Tarantino movie [TS]

01:36:53   yeah well okay recall filled that his [TS]

01:36:56   previous advise the day before [TS]

01:36:57   immediately after bush who was still in [TS]

01:37:00   the neighborhood took off with the gun [TS]

01:37:01   was you kids walk home by yourself [TS]

01:37:03   yeah we're going back in the house it's [TS]

01:37:07   quite a crazy guy with a grudge against [TS]

01:37:09   you probably won't do anything right [TS]

01:37:10   away you and your bouncy ball on your [TS]

01:37:12   own might not look look butch there [TS]

01:37:15   bitch and he's got the gun he's there [TS]

01:37:17   with a with a with a buddy [TS]

01:37:19   no no he's there with Jamie or you [TS]

01:37:21   boneheads i'm not sure which [TS]

01:37:23   that's right he's approximately a year [TS]

01:37:24   younger and has a buzz cut this [TS]

01:37:26   yeah and this is the butt spanking kid [TS]

01:37:29   having a gun makes you young and kooky [TS]

01:37:32   Mama's gonna work me and shut it down as [TS]

01:37:35   well this is where we get it that kids [TS]

01:37:37   got a little gimmick maybe he is maybe [TS]

01:37:39   is boneheads parents all of a sudden [TS]

01:37:41   like all these lines are about my mama [TS]

01:37:44   beat the crap outta me so roughly two [TS]

01:37:47   days earlier we saw this same child a [TS]

01:37:49   foot taller and with longer hair and now [TS]

01:37:52   he's got a buzz cut and as a year you [TS]

01:37:53   crack the code Steve and we also should [TS]

01:37:56   point out that he he swore up and down [TS]

01:37:58   that he was gonna go straight at that [TS]

01:37:59   point but obviously cool cats love [TS]

01:38:01   spreading had zero impact on his bad [TS]

01:38:05   behaviour of the cops come the cops come [TS]

01:38:09   and they said they tell butch to put the [TS]

01:38:10   gum gun down and they take they take [TS]

01:38:14   Butch and Jamie or you boneheads away [TS]

01:38:17   and and after the cops are proud of cool [TS]

01:38:20   cat [TS]

01:38:21   oh yeah the teachers come out to say how [TS]

01:38:23   proud they are they are proud although [TS]

01:38:25   he has done nothing except run into the [TS]

01:38:27   school and so then we immediately get [TS]

01:38:30   another clip video that it's going to be [TS]

01:38:32   later in the day we're cool cat [TS]

01:38:34   apparently has become president of the [TS]

01:38:36   school off-screen entirely so there's [TS]

01:38:39   resolution on that important but just it [TS]

01:38:43   word reaches them that kool Kat was [TS]

01:38:45   after the shelter in place at the school [TS]

01:38:48   because there was a gun on campus they [TS]

01:38:50   held the election and because his [TS]

01:38:52   campaign promises involved a hard-line [TS]

01:38:54   stance against violence [TS]

01:38:56   kool Kat was elected school president [TS]

01:38:57   well I think butch was his competition [TS]

01:39:00   who that explains the whole thing why [TS]

01:39:03   butch was trying to disrupt his [TS]

01:39:05   important campaign meetings with Maria [TS]

01:39:07   and then once bushes taken to jail [TS]

01:39:11   kool Kat is running unopposed now I i [TS]

01:39:12   thinkyeah which was the dirty tricks [TS]

01:39:15   operation of kool Katz opponent uh he's [TS]

01:39:21   he's the Donald Segretti of [TS]

01:39:24   of whatever terrible school [TS]

01:39:28   cool cat goes to ICU so you think cool [TS]

01:39:31   cats opponent had the sense to keep his [TS]

01:39:33   hands clean and use it oh yeah no no he [TS]

01:39:35   wants deniability [TS]

01:39:37   yeah absolutely so cool cat and Maria [TS]

01:39:40   are going to go outside because this [TS]

01:39:43   entire movie is about going inside and [TS]

01:39:45   outside from the cool cat house note by [TS]

01:39:48   the way the clock inside the cool cat [TS]

01:39:50   house indicates that it's 1120 meaning [TS]

01:39:52   that it must be very short scale day or [TS]

01:39:54   they just let the class president and [TS]

01:39:56   his entourage go home whenever they feel [TS]

01:39:58   like it is it it's a teacher workday [TS]

01:40:00   it's a minimum days you know they have [TS]

01:40:03   those yeah [TS]

01:40:04   1120 is pretty minimal minimal as it [TS]

01:40:07   gets [TS]

01:40:07   ok but daddy Derek comes out with their [TS]

01:40:09   with their their drinks and announces [TS]

01:40:13   that kool Kat won the National kids [TS]

01:40:16   writing contest that's kid apostrophe s [TS]

01:40:19   writer [TS]

01:40:21   yeah it's right up there sure isn't in [TS]

01:40:23   your writing contest you want your [TS]

01:40:24   judges to have no clue and so he has [TS]

01:40:27   kool Kat the award of excellence which [TS]

01:40:29   appears to be printed from the same [TS]

01:40:30   printer that all the cool cat campaign [TS]

01:40:32   signs came from but he also brings the [TS]

01:40:35   mid drinks and did you notice something [TS]

01:40:36   interesting about the drinks that [TS]

01:40:38   they're brought their Long Island iced [TS]

01:40:39   know it [TS]

01:40:40   same classes as vivica a fox and Erik [TS]

01:40:43   Estrada were using big exactly it's this [TS]

01:40:45   notice that she's pretty I wanted [TS]

01:40:47   retrospect as vivica a fox and Erik [TS]

01:40:50   Estrada were using before right daddy [TS]

01:40:53   Derek also brings out the check for one [TS]

01:40:55   hundred dollars which I feel like maybe [TS]

01:40:58   just a tad suspect because it's signed [TS]

01:41:01   by Johnny happen into the check out the [TS]

01:41:06   new haircut for the prize for a contest [TS]

01:41:10   that was both announced and one at [TS]

01:41:12   Christmastime is dated july 21st 2014 [TS]

01:41:16   sadly that's the actual check the actor [TS]

01:41:19   received first hundred dollars that's [TS]

01:41:22   twice this movie is designed by Johnny [TS]

01:41:24   happened Johnny happen is printed on the [TS]

01:41:27   signature line digital signature that's [TS]

01:41:30   legal [TS]

01:41:31   sure is I anyway next up the butt [TS]

01:41:34   spanking kid from the previous scene [TS]

01:41:37   returns to apologize for his terrible [TS]

01:41:40   behavior and look his hairs long again [TS]

01:41:42   and he's grown taller in the day or half [TS]

01:41:45   a day that says butt butt spanked he [TS]

01:41:48   makes your hair grow this is medical [TS]

01:41:50   fact [TS]

01:41:50   oh wait we learned that we get the [TS]

01:41:52   payoff here we learned that he did [TS]

01:41:53   indeed get that whooping if yeah my mama [TS]

01:41:56   walked me good and now I'm good [TS]

01:41:58   so I guess that's the left hit your kids [TS]

01:42:01   but no no they talk about their lessons [TS]

01:42:03   immediately i do they do [TS]

01:42:05   kool Kat in fact also spend some time [TS]

01:42:07   giving us his thoughts about [TS]

01:42:08   cyberbullying ok those are wicked [TS]

01:42:12   thoughts to disperse it's sort of [TS]

01:42:13   confusing but he kind of works his way [TS]

01:42:16   around to ignore them [TS]

01:42:18   just ignore them just forget to go into [TS]

01:42:20   nor them if you sent it there's really [TS]

01:42:24   not anything you could do [TS]

01:42:26   sorry it's kinda hard because you don't [TS]

01:42:28   know something but you know there's a [TS]

01:42:30   cesspool kids and the quicker you learn [TS]

01:42:34   to deal with that the better you'll your [TS]

01:42:37   life will be filled but you realize this [TS]

01:42:39   is a group of people who were shocked to [TS]

01:42:41   discover that somebody had put lies on [TS]

01:42:42   the internet so there may be a little [TS]

01:42:45   naivete at work anyway cool cat and his [TS]

01:42:47   friends turn to the camera and declare [TS]

01:42:49   hooray yay [TS]

01:42:51   we've solved everything he says on three [TS]

01:42:54   the kids look at cool cats hand as if [TS]

01:42:56   terrified to place their hands upon the [TS]

01:42:58   giant mascot hands they may do well [TS]

01:43:01   they're afraid their hands will turn [TS]

01:43:02   into campaign fails to cut count to [TS]

01:43:04   three and they just they just throw [TS]

01:43:06   their hands up and that's it it's over [TS]

01:43:09   and they turned the camera and it [TS]

01:43:11   rapidly fades out because there's [TS]

01:43:13   nothing left to say except rolling the [TS]

01:43:16   credits of cool cat saves the kids a [TS]

01:43:18   Derek savage field so to sum up he's [TS]

01:43:20   cool cat he loves you [TS]

01:43:22   friends are great let's all be friends [TS]

01:43:24   and have fun together [TS]

01:43:26   yeah my favorite part of what you just [TS]

01:43:28   said is it's a hospital for huh [TS]

01:43:31   ok let's start again roll cookout likes [TS]

01:43:34   11 singh who get likes to boogie boogie [TS]

01:43:37   boo [TS]

01:43:38   yeah that and this is the place where we [TS]

01:43:40   discovered that maybe we aren't getting [TS]

01:43:41   that fourth song that we were promised [TS]

01:43:44   yes we have the rock song with the van [TS]

01:43:47   halen guitar we have green screen room [TS]

01:43:49   music video we [TS]

01:43:50   have kool Kat yeah coo coo at which [TS]

01:43:54   place for parent what's the for the surf [TS]

01:43:57   in the winter weather from the web is [TS]

01:43:59   certainly where I don't think that [TS]

01:44:02   counts [TS]

01:44:03   I mean I look through okay first of all [TS]

01:44:04   I look through the four songs listed in [TS]

01:44:06   the credits in there were four songs [TS]

01:44:07   listed in the credits and it was [TS]

01:44:08   impossible to tell which song went with [TS]

01:44:10   which yeah which title yeah because [TS]

01:44:12   they're all called by the same thing [TS]

01:44:14   basically which is cool cat [TS]

01:44:15   kool Kat is kool kool Kat boogie cool [TS]

01:44:18   cat loves to rock and kool Katz is my [TS]

01:44:20   best friend they're interchangeable [TS]

01:44:22   yes but each of those literally had the [TS]

01:44:24   words cool cat loves to boogie or cool [TS]

01:44:26   cat is a friend or something along the [TS]

01:44:27   lines in it whereas you would think [TS]

01:44:29   surfing the web would turn up in the [TS]

01:44:31   title somewhere since that's all that [TS]

01:44:33   was talking about but no no [TS]

01:44:35   so one of those songs gone AWOL and I I [TS]

01:44:38   want it back [TS]

01:44:39   yeah do you maybe it was clipped out [TS]

01:44:42   maybe was like yeah but you know that [TS]

01:44:44   I'm sure that it felt to be too childish [TS]

01:44:46   yeah but I don't understand who this [TS]

01:44:49   movie is in debt because you know [TS]

01:44:53   clearly teenagers will look at this [TS]

01:44:55   movie I think this is it this is [TS]

01:44:57   bullcrap [TS]

01:44:58   yeah duh and people on trial expired [TS]

01:45:02   teenagers well under the age of 10 or [TS]

01:45:04   gonna gonna look at it and go [TS]

01:45:06   I don't know what this crazy cat person [TS]

01:45:08   is talking about i I'm a problem with [TS]

01:45:13   cool cat saves the Kansas City in it [TS]

01:45:15   it's a movie that doesn't really [TS]

01:45:18   understand who the hell is supposed to [TS]

01:45:21   supposed to be watching this movie [TS]

01:45:24   yeah but the feeling I get is that Derek [TS]

01:45:27   Savage is he's a simple man [TS]

01:45:31   yeah and by that I don't mean I'd i mean [TS]

01:45:34   i don't mean that he's a dumb guy i have [TS]

01:45:36   no idea whether he's smarter dunno i [TS]

01:45:37   have my have a general idea i'm gonna go [TS]

01:45:40   with dumb but go on what I'm saying is I [TS]

01:45:42   think he's he likes the simple pleasures [TS]

01:45:44   in life he lives in kind of a bubbling [TS]

01:45:46   just enjoys you know but standing out in [TS]

01:45:49   the backyard and waving his little size [TS]

01:45:52   around and pretending to play his little [TS]

01:45:54   van halen guitar and I honestly think it [TS]

01:45:57   just never occurred to him that kids are [TS]

01:45:59   more sophisticated today than they were [TS]

01:46:01   when [TS]

01:46:01   he was growing up and he's riding the [TS]

01:46:05   concept that kids have absolutely no [TS]

01:46:07   conception of what is good and bad and [TS]

01:46:10   he legitimately wanted to put together a [TS]

01:46:11   little thing that would make them a [TS]

01:46:13   little money and also spread the [TS]

01:46:15   messages about bullet when do you think [TS]

01:46:17   he grew up I was he looks like he's in [TS]

01:46:21   his early fifties maybe well I mean with [TS]

01:46:23   the groovy than the boogie boogies um [TS]

01:46:25   yeah that Playgirl spread looks like it [TS]

01:46:27   was late seventies early eighties to be [TS]

01:46:30   fair every Playgirl spread looks like [TS]

01:46:32   it's late 70s its kind of the aesthetic [TS]

01:46:34   of the magazine is I guess the thing [TS]

01:46:36   that fascinates me about it yeah it [TS]

01:46:38   looks like it's for kids you know [TS]

01:46:40   younger kids were going to be excited by [TS]

01:46:43   the fact that there's a mascot and are [TS]

01:46:45   going to benefit from sort of at those [TS]

01:46:47   this almost ritual of acting out like [TS]

01:46:50   here's a bad thing that happened [TS]

01:46:52   let's talk about what just happened [TS]

01:46:54   here's what we need to do next and now [TS]

01:46:56   you see us do it and so I sort of get it [TS]

01:46:59   although again they don't just don't [TS]

01:47:01   just act it out they tell you that [TS]

01:47:04   they're going to act it out and why [TS]

01:47:06   they're acting it out it's just it's [TS]

01:47:08   it's strange because you know even a [TS]

01:47:10   fifties educational film is not this [TS]

01:47:14   no I actually make educational videos [TS]

01:47:18   for autistic children as a part-time job [TS]

01:47:20   and the way that those videos are [TS]

01:47:22   scripted is we do little narration to [TS]

01:47:25   talk about what the video is gonna be [TS]

01:47:26   talking about we do what the the bad [TS]

01:47:29   version of it like when somebody [TS]

01:47:30   actually take somebody's ipad or just [TS]

01:47:32   something like that and then what [TS]

01:47:34   everyone's feeling and then the right [TS]

01:47:35   version hey can I have your ipad sure [TS]

01:47:37   and they're surprisingly effective this [TS]

01:47:39   movie did none of that it beat around [TS]

01:47:41   the bush so much that no they just do [TS]

01:47:44   things without women they do explain [TS]

01:47:46   them but it doesn't work i was about to [TS]

01:47:48   say they do things without explaining [TS]

01:47:49   but they do explain the man that somehow [TS]

01:47:51   makes it worse how do you screw that up [TS]

01:47:53   there he's not he's not a filmmaker and [TS]

01:47:55   he's not an educator and he's not a [TS]

01:47:57   writer so he's somebody who wants to be [TS]

01:48:01   you know creator of the brand of cool [TS]

01:48:03   cat and once and i think does want to [TS]

01:48:06   help and and thinks this is a niche for [TS]

01:48:08   him of of creating these educational [TS]

01:48:10   films but he doesn't seem to be equipped [TS]

01:48:14   to do any part [TS]

01:48:15   of it and the beauty of this and why we [TS]

01:48:18   we've been talking about it forever is [TS]

01:48:20   that it is it is like from another [TS]

01:48:22   universe it is unlike anything it's it [TS]

01:48:25   mean it's like a home movie that is [TS]

01:48:27   aspiring to be something greater and it [TS]

01:48:30   is it is greater then what's there [TS]

01:48:33   because it's so bizarre [TS]

01:48:35   it's not his only niche of course he [TS]

01:48:36   also wishes to write thrillers yes [TS]

01:48:39   midnight stripper stripper the life and [TS]

01:48:42   times of the mail chance we we can't get [TS]

01:48:45   too into this obviously but i will [TS]

01:48:46   encourage people to go to Derek savage [TS]

01:48:48   calm and read the first chapter of the [TS]

01:48:50   devil principal president in which the [TS]

01:48:52   president pays for his own lamp hands [TS]

01:48:56   seems very relaxed [TS]

01:48:59   although very agree about millions of [TS]

01:49:02   people burning to death in China [TS]

01:49:04   well okay what have we learned about [TS]

01:49:06   what we've learned many things about [TS]

01:49:08   absolutely nothing we learned we haven't [TS]

01:49:12   alright cool cat waste their lives there [TS]

01:49:15   it is [TS]

01:49:16   this is our representative going in the [TS]

01:49:18   rocket surgery involved for the decade [TS]

01:49:20   we live in a cool cat saves the kids he [TS]

01:49:25   did save the kids that I one point at [TS]

01:49:27   one time so they sent the one kid big [TS]

01:49:30   kid ball but you know I think I think [TS]

01:49:32   maybe dec savitch has it a problem with [TS]

01:49:34   plurals because of you boneheads and [TS]

01:49:36   also the other thing that lets you and [TS]

01:49:39   you'll tell you so repeatedly alright [TS]

01:49:42   that's it we're done with kool Kat says [TS]

01:49:44   the kids on rocket surgery [TS]

01:49:46   whoo that was something huh huh thank [TS]
