mostly I'm looking at USD it's a [TS]

pleasure with me and not with everybody [TS]

else that's exactly what I'm gonna get [TS]

  it makes perfect sense [TS]

yes we still enroll contact one likes [TS]

Freeman call you my dear I'm Lex [TS]

Friedman let's do that is uncannily like [TS]

students this is steve lets hello Steve [TS]

hello there Jason well technically this [TS]

is the fifth anniversary of the podcast [TS]

for some I don't think it really got [TS]

started until about midnight October [TS]

that was when it really [TS]

started because I see around episode 9i [TS]

think it's not however some people [TS]

that's a marked decline in quality and [TS]

sure but but really what happens the the [TS]

later episodes echo the early episodes [TS]

and it all makes and models there's a [TS]

whole ring theory yeah you're down [TS]

interesting and Erica inside sounds over [TS]

G thinks that this didn't really pick up [TS]

for about a hundred and fifty episodes [TS]

yeah yeah I think that's where i got [TS]

exciting for me because foreigners so [TS]

this this is that we're recording this [TS]

for some reason and soon as we figure [TS]

out what it is you guys when i hears [TS]

title is I won't let us leave this room [TS]

until they don't mind I literally cannot [TS]

get out right now we have explained it I [TS]

won't explain that this is a by the way [TS]

for those who have listened to the deep [TS]

cuts in the deep catalog [TS]

yes this is one of those Stephen privacy [TS]

  so stop listening that [TS]

yeah you have been warned you have been [TS]

where this is a episodes being released [TS]

on if anniversary of the uncomfortable [TS]

five years to the day the day to the day [TS]

wow I know we've been doing this for [TS]

five years Jason what the hell's gonna [TS]

  happen [TS]

we've been sitting in this room if I [TS]

understand it's just us only a different [TS]

after four years and nine months I was [TS]

  children [TS]

yeah but who's counting see what was the [TS]

topic of that episode Steve I believe [TS]

that it was a horror get the bone saw [TS]

that was the horror movie I data set [TS]

that was a sparsely populated episode [TS]

has some of your panelists our voices [TS]

  yeah yeah [TS]

many of them was that back in the day [TS]

where we covered like entire genre and [TS]

111 was over I think that's about the [TS]

one and only or at the center everybody [TS]

else do I can take it pretty much [TS]

covered everything is given what [TS]

happened to do although i'm thinking we [TS]

need to do a spooky old movie club [TS]

yeah i mean for halloween yeah that [TS]

would be great that'd be great or or did [TS]

do we can we do rocket surgery are there [TS]

because those need to be more shot my [TS]

load seems like we could really write to [TS]

the forefront I said it's a mad rocket [TS]

surgeon who kills but we do what we do [TS]

with the old movie spooky old movie club [TS]

i'm thinking well it would have to be [TS]

stuff that's a fairly bloodless for [TS]

you're gutless panelist we could maybe [TS]

God with everyone's makeup your mind you [TS]

could maybe do the g-rated the haunting [TS]

for starters generated topper and then [TS]

since we posted this is New York just [TS]

starting for the first luxury brands got [TS]

the ghost of mr. chicken now downloads [TS]

  he's there you go [TS]

he is scared frightening that is a [TS]

christmas carol that's pretty spooky [TS]

right let me throw some really good we [TS]

could do the changeling I think we [TS]

talked about that and episodio that's [TS]

how much can you get there you go you [TS]

  have the original one [TS]

oh yeah I was myself give me a little [TS]

credit i mean we were covered Evil Dead [TS]

know yet we haven't covered you're there [TS]

to yet sorry that's not evil did [TS]

high-fidelity ok friends but the new cat [TS]

people would be around we've got a [TS]

high-fidelity yeah there you go [TS]

no we haven't well keep siracusa Farley [TS]

that's a good point to solve where you [TS]

can have a whole separate podcast where [TS]

Syracuse's ruins the eighties for you [TS]

I think we decided that when we wrap up [TS]

after this episode since this is our [TS]

last episode it's just these gentlemen i [TS]

replaced by the big greatest hits of [TS]

John syracuse the next but you keep it [TS]

keep on going I I it's funny that you [TS]

bring up the horror episode because that [TS]

was definitely one of those where I i [TS]

had no conception first I had no [TS]

conception that this we keep going like [TS]

this because what were the chances of [TS]

that extremely small one hundred percent [TS]

as it turns as experience our guys when [TS]

  I have overestimated [TS]

the amount of free time that people have [TS]

on their hands yeah wewe didn't study [TS]

has detention a podcast intervention [TS]

later hug just asking why you're [TS]

listening to this but that we're going [TS]

to why we're gonna save that I just I i [TS]

look back at those at least stop [TS]

listening so we can stop to do [TS]

everything started to cry for it's like [TS]

I just want to get them online is good [TS]

until subscription levels dropped over [TS]

5,000 I got today it's almost lunchtime [TS]

for itunes reviews at the 500 mark we [TS]

can quick then peel em the the innocence [TS]

of those early days when when like you [TS]

said we could just let's talk about [TS]

horror movies for 45 minutes is also [TS]

back then the podcast was strictly [TS]

limited to an hour and would never be [TS]

any longer than an hour i do remember [TS]

you have been talking about this [TS]

it's insane to go longer than an hour [TS]

why would you do it no one would say no [TS]

  need [TS]

yes now our average episodes an [TS]

hour-and-a-half much wiser and Saturn [TS]

about the world yeah talking slowly but [TS]

I had somebody is somebody has rolled [TS]

asked me if we were ever gonna do [TS]

episodes about like buffy the vampire [TS]

slayer or we're gonna fly got that done [TS]

we did a John sweden at the same time [TS]

where we're going at three in 55 minutes [TS]

we covered all seven seasons of buffy [TS]

and five seasons of 845 whatever it is [TS]

an angel in my right eye and all of [TS]

firefly and doghouse and i would call in [TS]

55 may be used to be so much more [TS]

efficient you know what happened here so [TS]

concise now it wasn't simply the problem [TS]

music listeners they determine oh yeah I [TS]

wanted the deep debt problem is you get [TS]

smaller than theirs because it's just an [TS]

entire hour and a half of blaming the [TS]

listen I i like i like how concise it [TS]

was just you know Buffy awesome next you [TS]

know that was very simple everybody like [TS]

  this [TS]

well that wraps up this episode of all [TS]

yeah i don't i don't know what we were [TS]

thinking quite honestly we haven't found [TS]

our groove yet our format we just turns [TS]

out it's deep deep group apparently is a [TS]

very deep groove he is a escape is a [TS]

chasm that we cannot climb out of with [TS]

smooth smooth walls and well one of the [TS]

things i think we'll it like goddamn i [TS]

were talking earlier before the for the [TS]

  podcast that's good podcasting [TS]

  references [TS]

nobody heard you can hear that a [TS]

downloadable extra later i'm just [TS]

  pretend [TS]

yeah just be another writes the [TS]

unrecorded to distract you didn't use [TS]

air about fandom and about i think one [TS]

of the things that we've been good at is [TS]

that is we bring we bring enthusiasm for [TS]

our subject matter without it being kind [TS]

of this gets us in trouble sometimes [TS]

with some fans who we if we bring [TS]

enthusiasm without necessarily being a [TS]

we're not uncritical even though we're [TS]

enthusiastic and I you know I think [TS]

that's our I think that's our thing [TS]

right is is we we we are inclined to [TS]

like stuff and we want to be excited [TS]

about stuff but at the same time we [TS]

don't turn off the the critical faculty [TS]

and say you know my god it's great [TS]

because first off I don't really know [TS]

how how long with that podcast run like [TS]

10 minutes yet only the high five years [TS]

Jason it's called high five everybody [TS]

says it's awesome then it's done and [TS]

that actually wasn't that your focus on [TS]

  the uncomfortable network [TS]

I don't have your lose you you heard it [TS]

  here first folks [TS]

  yeah i know i think that's it that's [TS]

  it's true that we're not careful I don't [TS]

think we let our criticisms diminish our [TS]

enjoyment of it either i think it's the [TS]

other part of it right like we don't get [TS]

so wrapped up in with the few exceptions [TS]

and say the stupidest prequel episodes [TS]

we don't usually spend so much time when [TS]

passing something I mean granted coming [TS]

  in [TS]

nobody really like building that's mr. [TS]

Lee was prequel episodes and I think [TS]

it's because it's infrequent that we [TS]

have ya eviscerate something yeah i [TS]

would want to do that every week now I [TS]

would but I can't even imagine [TS]

especially the Star Wars prequels every [TS]

week to start packing that we share will [TS]

do a minute at a time [TS]

yeah take 600 years ago this part [TS]

clearly references an earlier and 0 baby [TS]

terrible terrible and here we see the [TS]

influence of Metropolis his thought [TS]

  process [TS]

hey hello make make love to the mics [TS]

Mike dynamics are not my strength [TS]

this is why I wear a headset what is [TS]

your strength I'm starting to find here [TS]

is the years of an episode [TS]

  high five yeah [TS]

this is where this is where the gloves [TS]

come off people bad i think my strengths [TS]

arise from my dashing good looks [TS]

Thank You Glenn flash yeah time to go [TS]

second and also my great love for Jose [TS]

Feliciano I i was gonna say don't touch [TS]

the bear with the stick you where you [TS]

away from me where do you see yourself [TS]

  in five years [TS]

this is a dollar value is around town [TS]

not gonna lie i guess nobody celebrating [TS]

the 50th anniversary of his new podcast [TS]

where he just talks about things that [TS]

are terrible and it's just called 15 of [TS]

icons are connected with jason said we [TS]

did we did with the rocket surgery thing [TS]

that was that was a calculated attempt [TS]

for us to be negative about something [TS]

like loading number right for some of us [TS]

can still find enthusiasm it's a [TS]

goddamned articles and then Glenn like [TS]

Zardoz highlights are does yeah i still [TS]

like sardines and go back and watch it [TS]

again the second Zardoz episode was very [TS]

  different [TS]

we haven't yet got 25 years from now [TS]

where we say can you believe we only did [TS]

one episode about our news our dollars [TS]

focus podcast really popular that's [TS]

right stone had the podcast she's like [TS]

the idea of a alternate universe where [TS]

is over Zardoz like took on Star Wars [TS]

levels proportions and just became an [TS]

enormous franchise I you believe it the [TS]

rebooting Zardoz again I'm really [TS]

disappointed in this our dogs prequel [TS]

with a to fill the stop me from going to [TS]

see the new Zardoz well it explains the [TS]

science behind what made the stone head [TS]

that was not you needed that unnecessary [TS]

the science of pharmaceuticals somebody [TS]

on twitter posted the picture of the [TS]

Tsar's novelization which was I was very [TS]

impressed by impressed is not the word I [TS]

  would use [TS]

I I would almost want to read it just to [TS]

see what the novel held and obviously [TS]

can't stand up and walk out [TS]

yeah and then is that wasn't a problem [TS]

mirrors and then he fell out of the hot [TS]

and he talked to Cristal it was reaching [TS]

  for it [TS]

it's a picture book and then they want [TS]

the fastball actually said sees its head [TS]

he said shoot his head wasn't a lot of [TS]

  discussion about start us [TS]

yeah well you know the classics you [TS]

gonna get into give will never escape [TS]

no it will never win that Erica I hope [TS]

you aren't offended when we make fun of [TS]

the Star Wars prequels since you run on [TS]

the record is defending episode 1 now [TS]

yeah I like episode 1 which to be fair [TS]

we determined after a long scientific [TS]

process is probably the best of of the [TS]

prequels just by elimination by a guy [TS]

didn't like the other ones and I have to [TS]

admit I haven't listened to your episode [TS]

talking about outside when it comes to [TS]

  life here it [TS]

no because i'm afraid you'll make me [TS]

hate it you don't want your and we will [TS]

we can't ruin it we and where you [TS]

because you really curious to logic if [TS]

  you like [TS]

so you just have to yeah yeah don't let [TS]

us bring our you're safe [TS]

maybe that's a good superpower to have I [TS]

  guess I guess [TS]

hey Scott hello I didn't watch our dogs [TS]

  i don't really like episode 102 don't [TS]

have much to say it already walking for [TS]

torque and you know how do you feel [TS]

about Buffy I've seen one episode of [TS]

buffy and I was like it so i stopped [TS]

watching moving on from this guy but [TS]

he's got the ability for your country [TS]

decided everybody so one of the things i [TS]

mean this this whole podcast started [TS]

five years ago because of a conversation [TS]

that some of us had on twitter about [TS]

books and as we're here where the reason [TS]

we're all together which I never [TS]

mentioned because i think it's not one [TS]

of the adversary and so it's just [TS]

readily apparent that we would get [TS]

together for the fifth anniversary of [TS]

the podcast we could have set our sights [TS]

on the North American city we are [TS]

reserved hotel rooms we all travel there [TS]

and then we we agreed to appear on a [TS]

podcast it's on the we pick the northern [TS]

Northern US city that is the most [TS]

difficult for everyone to get to or yes [TS]

that's based on scientific and I like it [TS]

  was shrouded in smoke [TS]

indeed so we're here in Spokane water [TS]

and blood red sox that's right that's [TS]

right working for what we're trying to [TS]

make it seem like we're on like dune or [TS]

  something [TS]

very apocalyptic Iraqis yes it is so so [TS]

we were talking about books and and [TS]

we're here at at SAS won the World con [TS]

the world science fiction convention [TS]

which is a very i would say much more of [TS]

a book focused kind of convention than a [TS]

lot of these media conventions that you [TS]

get like comic-con where or a Doctor Who [TS]

convention or something like that it's a [TS]

lot a lot of lot of authors lot of [TS]

readers a lot of writers I've seen many [TS]

people reading in the convention is this [TS]

place is we're gonna burn this house [TS]

down to smoke and spend a hundred and [TS]

seventy dollars on a bad so I could read [TS]

in the conventions around for someone [TS]

who wrote this book is right next to me [TS]

so i will read it and not talk to them [TS]

with this light that's leading my family [TS]

doesn't know we're also gonna be the [TS]

porch and Michael White House might be [TS]

reading in my cousin while walk in look [TS]

around and go the neighbors must hate [TS]

you making so much noise that when they [TS]

do really they find their favorite [TS]

author and they go up in his book next [TS]

to him right in front of space that's [TS]

there to shine actually talked to the [TS]

guy but this way they were just talking [TS]

about this before if you you know you [TS]

  see an author [TS]

what do I wouldn't say anything to them [TS]

because i always had read your book and [TS]

they were and jason said yeah I wrote [TS]

that book silent and we don't want to [TS]

that's why I think most of our worse [TS]

than a bunch of random guys appear next [TS]

to you and opening your blood was around [TS]

me like it's a fresh money I've got the [TS]

obvious and then there are the authors [TS]

who have learned not to ask what did you [TS]

think because you might actually find [TS]

out you don't necessarily but Scott [TS]

that's the beauty of Scots book [TS]

Amnesia's he would be like I don't [TS]

actually remember it's something that's [TS]

worth I think has the right approach to [TS]

avoid fanboys just right really heavy [TS]

books that they can't lift anything [TS]

that's right you believe those at home [TS]

on a stand somewhere on your reading [TS]

lectern and do it there has ruined that [TS]

that's true if you want to get a lot of [TS]

connections value prop up tables the but [TS]

we did we start talking about books [TS]

that's that's where this all began is [TS]

that we had a link the twitter [TS]

conversation about books that we had [TS]

read that we have liked it not and that [TS]

first episode is just it's not even like [TS]

let's all read one or two books like we [TS]

do now talk about all of it was like [TS]

talking about everything all the [TS]

haha politics that we've read it is John [TS]

reservoir is written on i think that was [TS]

part of the problem is that each episode [TS]

like all your next episode looks like [TS]

movies TV guess what we're out of topics [TS]

pretty screwed with the way with another [TS]

video we're gonna need to focus it a [TS]

little bit this week is bazooka joe [TS]

rappers that's little it's like really [TS]

scraping the bottom of the barrel so we [TS]

started talking about individual TV [TS]

shows and individual movies and things [TS]

like that which I individual books [TS]

yeah and individual books that's true I [TS]

I Scott is my is Maya he's golden you [TS]

look where you're going to miss my [TS]

co-pilot I scott on scott i rely on for [TS]

good book recommendations he's made some [TS]

excellent book recommendations over the [TS]

years and and um you know he could make [TS]

more but he sorry because you're sad for [TS]

  everybody [TS]

yes yeah I think cheese is not too i'm [TS]

  here instead of reading [TS]

let's keep it did Scott what are you [TS]

doing with that book right now the [TS]

reason Scott so quietly noted down so [TS]

what do you think i remember it was only [TS]

six pages got there they said maybe that [TS]

you get a little more character [TS]

development should spread the pictures [TS]

apartment but it's nice to hear on on [TS]

Twitter I mean that's where we get most [TS]

of our feedback occasionally we'll get a [TS]

an email or I'll get a strange thing in [TS]

my mailbox that has happened a couple of [TS]

times in the modular home got dead birds [TS]

  in the trees [TS]

up in the unsigned value yeah I remember [TS]

that episode we talk about dead birds [TS]

that's great back in the old days when [TS]

we talked for only 45 minutes about the [TS]

subject of a bird and we can talk about [TS]

a specific species of dead bird anything [TS]

  cravings [TS]

yeah investment we started a recurring [TS]

six every six weeks we talk about a bird [TS]

that we think it's stupid [TS]

haha i wrote that will return again what [TS]

do you think I hated it but it is nice [TS]

when we hear on mostly on Twitter from [TS]

people who say thank you for your book [TS]

recommendations that where were sort of [TS]

guiding guiding them and by we I i [TS]

essentially do mean scott says God is [TS]

the puppet master who controls with [TS]

people read now it is what I was born to [TS]

do before I really did those checks from [TS]

the major publishers come to use got [TS]

very infrequently still waiting to [TS]

contact lex friedman and maybe I'm Lex [TS]

Frieden yeah you should have authors [TS]

coming up to you herein single Scott [TS]

McNulty thank you your such a tastemaker [TS]

i like the idea that it's a reversal oh [TS]

  you read my book [TS]

everything I did I drop me a line i may [TS]

have the point really turned aside we [TS]

have had a couple of a of people who are [TS]

writers who have been appeared on our [TS]

episodes and then we're always very [TS]

careful to not talk about the stuff that [TS]

  they cool [TS]

are there or even in the in the indie [TS]

genre that they work in so like we can [TS]

we have Helen Walker on to talk about [TS]

Zardoz instead of you know her book [TS]

which we liked it's true i think that's [TS]

why she likes the podcast so yes they [TS]

liked you so much we should be under [TS]

desire for the book was strange way of [TS]

showing affection is what can we do we [TS]

turn we can help you show you we just [TS]

aren't very good with our feelings [TS]

here's our dogs you're listening to [TS]

memories exhort us on the incumbent i [TS]

proposed action is a copyist our dogs [TS]

no y z should be on the boulder dash [TS]

setup mean once you put the penis is bad [TS]

in your wedding vows made don't know why [TS]

wouldn't you use on its evil right is [TS]

  evil penis is evil [TS]

yeah thanks David I gotta check the and [TS]

now it's going to get anybody to get the [TS]

hotel memo pad so you can mark the time [TS]

good sure since the first time penis has [TS]

been written on the pads jason has left [TS]

  the room [TS]

Oh guys we just watching watching [TS]

watching you can this whole affair [TS]

yeah i was a little worried he's like [TS]

  five years that's it i don't know you're [TS]

done broke the fight continues finally [TS]

did that was the last thing you heard [TS]

him say was no hope you're happy [TS]

I feel like this podcast is what brought [TS]

us a lot of joy just really like the [TS]

human centipede of episodes so Stephen [TS]

Fry you change your not even for as the [TS]

humans here when we started out we [TS]

talked a lot about books that's what i [TS]

hear that Dan less about penises been so [TS]

many other topics but you can see the [TS]

rails from here and we had rails what [TS]

about find out what about fandom what [TS]

  about it we we [TS]

why is it white white white white white [TS]

  be a fan [TS]

yeah today white know what it means that [TS]

this just let that question over acting [TS]

what's will just be coming out there [TS]

like a stone head exploded be silent for [TS]

a while your question what you've done [TS]

allow it to marinate Eric I like I what [TS]

we expand expand on that the weekend [TS]

some of us can't help can't help being [TS]

fans just like I was raised that way [TS]

that was that was those my weed we had [TS]

no religion in my house except Doctor [TS]

  Who I think [TS]

my mom and star wars and you know many [TS]

other geeky things so I got grew up this [TS]

way I wouldn't know how to do life any [TS]

differently which is weird because I [TS]

don't we talked a little bit of [TS]

everything about the Sun was it maybe [TS]

episode 200 think we talked about it at [TS]

some point like our backgrounds in it's [TS]

like weird for me because I was raised [TS]

in a house with without people who are [TS]

like seriously big fans like my dad [TS]

still doesn't it doesn't really he [TS]

thinks kind of science fiction fantasy [TS]

all that stuff was just kind of [TS]

ridiculous also dan yes there's that [TS]

soon but now but you know it in but at [TS]

the same time you know getting exposed [TS]

to those things then yeah I think Eric [TS]

is right it's like it you're choose to [TS]

  be confounded chooses you [TS]

I've seen people choose fandom so people [TS]

who are fans of Doctor Who hear about [TS]

something else and like i'm going to try [TS]

that supernatural show and then just [TS]

dive in and become crazy super fans this [TS]

is true this will finally have talked [TS]

about Suppan supernatural awesome next I [TS]

haven't actually watched myself but I [TS]

high-five somebody about it if you want [TS]

well you know I think the my confusion [TS]

with supernatural comes with the fact [TS]

that Dean from the guild music that's [TS]

that confusing that the reason i've [TS]

never watched supernatural is there is a [TS]

character in Supernatural named Dean but [TS]

Dean from the gilmore girls does not [TS]

play the character named team it's very [TS]

  confused what's happening I think it's [TS]

just an alternate universe so what's [TS]

important to establish that all shows [TS]

and movies that have the same actors in [TS]

them are actually all part of the same [TS]

universe so there is a cannon which [TS]

sample from supernatural has to go [TS]

undercover in a small Connecticut town [TS]

and he picks a name and of course the [TS]

first thing that comes to mind his [TS]

brothers brother Dean and he just played [TS]

me just has to go undercover for like [TS]

  five years [TS]

I'm now convinced dan and I are not part [TS]

of the same universe that really [TS]

cheapens Rory and Dean's relationship [TS]

dance so everyone has never it was never [TS]

meant great mystery but still let's look [TS]

  I didn't like more I didn't like that [TS]

yes obviously went off and became a [TS]

superhero later history actually liked [TS]

you better as a superhero after [TS]

after rewatching the younger think i had [TS]

a dream that I where he was trying to [TS]

  kill me [TS]

Milo Ventimiglia with a private Kelly [TS]

typically we also recently played in [TS]

Gotham he was a serial killer i think [TS]

that made him just much creepier in my [TS]

  estimation [TS]

wow what is in this dream you were [TS]

cereal yes mr. Caffrey rebels are like [TS]

oh I was gonna say someone's after your [TS]

lucky charm always after me lucky that [TS]

would be there always after me lucky [TS]

charms with the very disappointing [TS]

catchphrase in the latest pirates of the [TS]

caribbean movie ever what about your [TS]

childhood fandom how are you raised [TS]

  I don't remember a time when I didn't [TS]

want to start track and that's just sort [TS]

of blood and everything else you know [TS]

it's like oh this is like Star Trek i [TS]

watch space 1999a planet of the apes hey [TS]

you know and and my mother encouraged to [TS]

to she was I mean she had all the [TS]

Tolkien and all the lewis and all the [TS]

charles williams and all the other [TS]

Inklings and all you know and so there's [TS]

this huge British fantasy shelf in our [TS]

house and then just sort of expanded [TS]

habits like oh well the ER Edison who's [TS]

  that [TS]

well I'll read him because he's like [TS]

these guys and yeah just sort of if and [TS]

when in 1975 it was in space and had [TS]

lasers and you know i was watching it [TS]

you know i watched all of buck rogers in [TS]

the 25th century when it [TS]

materiali so I just I this is spoilers [TS]

for future episodes of robot of robot or [TS]

not by the way but I i did i did have [TS]

just recently have a conversation with [TS]

mr. John siracusa where buck rogers in [TS]

the 25th century and battlestar [TS]

galactica from the seventies came up and [TS]

and you know he and he's younger than me [TS]

but he has clear memories of those two [TS]

it just one of the things about where [TS]

when we live today there is a huge [TS]

amount of material there John material [TS]

you can the books and comics and movies [TS]

  and TV series [TS]

it just is this just avalanche of [TS]

material and you have to you have to [TS]

  choose from it [TS]

whereas as as kid growing up especially [TS]

before Star Wars and then start was kind [TS]

of kicked off a little bit more of this [TS]

  you were [TS]

looking for the closest thing resembling [TS]

a something with a robot or space or [TS]

something because there was so there was [TS]

so little so like something terrible [TS]

like Buck Rogers which again not a [TS]

spoiler so much for robot or not but [TS]

featured a robot who carried around like [TS]

another robot as a method as Italian [TS]

which is awesome laughing dr. Theophilus [TS]

yes getting played by but you know when [TS]

when we were seven you didn't even mind [TS]

the fact that all of the ships that [TS]

everyone flew and Buck Rogers were the [TS]

same ships that they flew in battlestar [TS]

galactica the same limitation is cheap [TS]

yeah you know but yeah I mean we just [TS]

established that means they're in the [TS]

same universe right that's right i mean [TS]

tricky stuck in my head when I was [TS]

little in and I remember [TS]

hey that's started really selfish today [TS]

because well seek your daughter back [TS]

after after getting paul simon's [TS]

graceland and listening carefully to the [TS]

actual song Graceland there's this [TS]

guitar riff in the middle of the song [TS]

that is just biddy biddy biddy biddy [TS]

biddy and I can't not say a buck at the [TS]

end of every time I listen that was a [TS]

terrible show it has ruled terrible you [TS]

are going the paul simon episode of [TS]

being comfortable is always more focused [TS]

on Wilma Deering's outfits and my father [TS]

yea high five high five [TS]

yeah i saw iron gray and and Gil Gerard [TS]

comic-con signing autographs was not [TS]

much with not much of a lime and my [TS]

  heart to sell [TS]

it is this doing in chicago comic con a [TS]

couple years ago yeah it's sad that [TS]

there's not much of a wine but I didn't [TS]

go over there is a part of the problem [TS]

you really didn't want ya Erinn great i [TS]

choose much she was much more exciting [TS]

and Buck Rogers than silver spoons i [TS]

found i don't you ever watch too much [TS]

food sorry amendments and silver spoons [TS]

that were ok assumptions is more excited [TS]

about the room that had all the video [TS]

giant train train i want to do I wanted [TS]

to rain since the remote-controlled door [TS]

and how did that was gonna send her [TS]

spinning a podcast I'm not like i can [TS]

use their trade or amendments in silver [TS]

spoons that made it worth watching [TS]

I don't think so like the robots they [TS]

came in later yeah come on what grounds [TS]

Rivera love arrow or a robot around his [TS]

neck and Ally was amazing any style and [TS]

fresh prince to you know it was a it was [TS]

a victim Wendie I think so it's kind of [TS]

over something under the fresh prince [TS]

harry well as don't understand what you [TS]

know little thunder chunky is ok i don't [TS]

know that i don't think i would want to [TS]

start separate it's in the graffiti in [TS]

the background at the beginning I feel [TS]

like there's got to be a whole fan of on [TS]

all the stuff in the back that's a very [TS]

common phrase in Philadelphia it's like [TS]

it's like Andre don't you jump where [TS]

they're all over the place since you [TS]

moved there it's just I'm sorry that was [TS]

  rude [TS]

this podcast is something that it's [TS]

scott can run three miles straight [TS]

straight no Toronto Joe do this to a [TS]

party or anything straight the yeah you [TS]

  need me much [TS]

it's very flattering and you'd like a [TS]

nice ramp prefer a mile and a half out a [TS]

  mile-and-a-half back honestly otherwise [TS]

you're sort of stranded at the end [TS]

that's true you got a call okay that's [TS]

how I run I don't know jack about their [TS]

school I am because we're mir i do but i [TS]

have its took of you take me awhile to [TS]

figure out the whole loop thing so i [TS]

have ended up several models from where [TS]

I started out like this is stupid [TS]

this is the exercise exercise whoreson [TS]

and much too much after workers for this [TS]

episode is gonna be easy [TS]

My partner in theater used to train for [TS]

marathons but he had never run one and [TS]

he got lost training one day and he [TS]

actually wind up running like 29 miles [TS]

just to get back to where he get a car [TS]

company and he looked at his mild rent [TS]

oh no they slept for about three days [TS]

after that halfway through that you ran [TS]

through a marathon and she's like a [TS]

marathon better miles and why do all [TS]

these people have numbers on and it's [TS]

just funny so so high like we've got a [TS]

little far afield yeah but Jason bring [TS]

honor back and we'll be right back from [TS]

here is another a beverage print so so [TS]

so we have so my next question is how do [TS]

you find unwind it how do you find what [TS]

to consume how do you how do you choose [TS]

what to watch what to want to read in [TS]

this in this world where we have much [TS]

greater selection then back when we were [TS]

forced to watch Buck Rogers and space [TS]

1999 when using else on you put up a [TS]

doodle and then after the first watch on [TS]

the desktop that same has no wheels [TS]

these are all right that's not a setup [TS]

for those for those who don't know [TS]

doodle is a website where we schedule [TS]

our our episodes so i will say hey we're [TS]

going to do an episode about this and [TS]

then everybody goes there and says what [TS]

times they're available this happened [TS]

brought to you by doodle I honestly [TS]

Steve this is sort of how I consume most [TS]

things now is is what I have to talk [TS]

about other podcasts it's a lot harder [TS]

there's just there is so much more stuff [TS]

and you have so much less time to [TS]

consume stuff so you have to be I find [TS]

that I'm just so much more selective [TS]

than I was as a teenager say where I [TS]

would like just like you guys grab a [TS]

book off the shelf because i had a robot [TS]

and a blazer gonna fuck you like all [TS]

right this is what i'm reading and [TS]

nowadays like if i start reading a book [TS]

i used to be religious about finishing [TS]

every book i read and nowadays I very [TS]

easily get halfway through and I'm like [TS]

no it's not doing it put down rather be [TS]

this so i think he has to in some ways [TS]

makes you a lot more brutal about like [TS]

the what you want to consume because we [TS]

don't want to waste your time because [TS]

  time is precious [TS]

I think there's a fire which we burn i [TS]

think it was in an appropriate for them [TS]

to do an edition of The Godfather with a [TS]

  robot is gonna come [TS]

just the pointer is awake when the robot [TS]

be there Don Corleone a roomba yeah I'm [TS]

actually glad that the podcast leave the [TS]

blaster take the cannoli yeah you're [TS]

listening to Corleone or not that the [TS]

podcast give me some rails as far as [TS]

what to watch and what to consume not [TS]

two sets of yet no no no no rails and we [TS]

warned to everybody out there that this [TS]

was going to have somewhere you're [TS]

listening is your own fault i listen to [TS]

Stephen Fry what he says to read i read [TS]

it yet because there have to be so [TS]

selective and I hate being brutal about [TS]

stuff like that so it's sometimes easier [TS]

when you guys to say oh we're gonna [TS]

watch star does and then i hate you all [TS]

this is when you say hey we're gonna [TS]

watch star doesn't think no we're not [TS]

but I don't know what sort of what do [TS]

you mean we just we there is that I mean [TS]

I used to fund stuff just by browsing [TS]

like going to a bookstore and that's [TS]

what they used to house your decision [TS]

  yet [TS]

back when these hipsters and you can't [TS]

you can't really browse amazon it's not [TS]

the same thing you find a thing you're [TS]

looking for you find things that they [TS]

try to recommend for you but sometimes [TS]

just been ruined by the fact that you [TS]

recently watched his ardent and I gotta [TS]

get shot but but you know even if even [TS]

if it were a good recommendation engine [TS]

which i find it is not very often hear [TS]

that basis yeah it's like to get some of [TS]

some of the best things i found in [TS]

bookstores I would never have picked up [TS]

otherwise I would never I mean there's [TS]

no connection is just like hey this [TS]

looks interesting because the title or [TS]

the cover or the you know I don't know [TS]

but I hear better from you guys to write [TS]

like a dress that's how I get a lot of [TS]

it not just stuff we're doing for the [TS]

podcast right also people say i read [TS]

this thing I watched this movie and it [TS]

was good and by people I mean Scott and [TS]

I think that we can do it because you [TS]

know a person and what they're into and [TS]

I can you know I can say that was Scott [TS]

likes this might like it like this i [TS]

will love it up a notch celebration [TS]

  Wayne Glenn likes this [TS]

he could have been it was very fun very [TS]

far far away going to Monte are two [TS]

residents of the state of Washington [TS]

could take it to see it's all the way on [TS]

the other side of the state may be stuck [TS]

it is not the biggest practically in [TS]

  Montana hear ya [TS]

hey Steve you you know one of my [TS]

favorite moments in podcast history when [TS]

was when a duck at the biergarten I [TS]

talked about spitting in a tube for a [TS]

service that is no longer allowed to [TS]

provide medical advice haha i mention [TS]

this because that was a live a dream in [TS]

front of an audience yes that was good [TS]

times so it's did you know traditional [TS]

home security systems cost hundreds of [TS]

dollars to set up hundreds more for [TS]

required monthly fees and lucky with the [TS]

contracts for years at the time I had no [TS]

idea about that Jason the state don't [TS]

get stuck paying thousands of dollars [TS]

for false alarms and systems that only [TS]

tell you if your windows open or closed [TS]

and not what actually happened well how [TS]

can I possibly avoid that you need to [TS]

meet canary a new approach to home [TS]

security devices that's available for [TS]

only 2 49 canary you say anymore it's an [TS]

upcoming rate a bird podcast canary is [TS]

going to read extremely highly very [TS]

  awesome [TS]

hi father I was wanting to defend the [TS]

meat canary in the superhero bracket is [TS]

  knocked out early [TS]

well yeah it was an adventure in the [TS]

coal mine it was just commits good meat [TS]

kidding me to marry she had my hair out [TS]

of school is gambit yeah she's one of [TS]

the know what I right foods getting [TS]

weird yeah it's true I I so well as [TS]

we're in the throes of this superhero [TS]

tournament that is taking way longer [TS]

than I really initially planned i just [TS]

want to point out that wasn't him all [TS]

Phillip it's all film releases fault [TS]

they suggested we do it a march madness [TS]

style tournament is it possible that [TS]

were involved in an elaborate prank for [TS]

their podcast filling Lisa ruin the [TS]

podcast that I think it's a Ponzi scheme [TS]

for its probable more than probable ok [TS]

Dan yeah yeah so where we were talking [TS]

about before we met canary meet Canaries [TS]

after delicious i'm gonna have trouble [TS]

focusing on the remainder of this [TS]

podcast but maybe thinking about home [TS]

security systems are good that's how you [TS]

should have you should all everybody out [TS]

there is so you should join them and [TS]

thinking about it maybe I canary you [TS]

would need to be worrying about your [TS]

  home security [TS]

really interesting point yeah that's [TS]

good they're not paying for this party [TS]

  rolling [TS]

nevermind don't even own a home I just [TS]

have cat-like not only have a canary [TS]

so Scott diamonds are you and there's [TS]

somebody came and stole Scott as a how [TS]

do you read so many books and how do you [TS]

find what books to read [TS]

I had this I was happy when you get your [TS]

ideas I had lunch as much withholding [TS]

wacker and we were talking and she was [TS]

very grateful that she's a fan of the [TS]

podcast and she's grateful that you [TS]

recommended a book and then we all liked [TS]

it the her first novel the the Golem [TS]

immagini or no the genie in the Gollum [TS]

  Gollum in the gym [TS]

no it's the ginagawa notice the goldman [TS]

Jeanie with the light brown here very [TS]

confused i was kinda jealous now anyway [TS]

they do but i didn't read it [TS]

the golden goat comes first you said [TS]

Williams the GM ago my social life is [TS]

all crime does it do to this entry you [TS]

don't usually have a detective agency [TS]

and they solve crimes so pre-ordered so [TS]

but it's when she said she was great she [TS]

was grateful that you're recommending [TS]

books how does Scott read so many books [TS]

so I have to ask how do you do it how do [TS]

you and where and more to the point [TS]

where are you looking to decide what to [TS]

read next because you have come up with [TS]

some great suggestions for us over the [TS]

  years [TS]

well I think the however you retired [TS]

about reading books to it is a very [TS]

boring in that I just read them i paid [TS]

to the time one patient needed [TS]

diagonalizing I tried that one and then [TS]

  my brain exploded [TS]

I yes so I i guess i'm fairly fast [TS]

reader my wife who is silently listening [TS]

to this right now he's our audience [TS]

again is I want to corroborate whether [TS]

an opposite you just got real sorry [TS]

about your time with she is much faster [TS]

than i am actually so we just read Adam [TS]

watching TV i read i don't drive to work [TS]

i don't have anymore so drivers license [TS]

because i was reading once and killed a [TS]

  man haha [TS]

so that's it i read a lot just because [TS]

you make time it's important to make the [TS]

  time [TS]

dan you could learn a lesson from oh no [TS]

not good not to put too fine a point on [TS]

it the more interesting thing where do I [TS]

find all these books book store because [TS]

of my curves gonna finish a library [TS]

library i do go to library uh so i [TS]

peruse the shelves of the library much [TS]

like you don't know what you're talking [TS]

about going to bookstores libraries like [TS]

a bookstore only you can take a book for [TS]

  free [TS]

yeah you want to church I got a book [TS]

store once around about it is like [TS]

Twitter a lot of people tweet about [TS]

stuff and then I really think about I [TS]

find actually when you spend your time [TS]

to retweet his books this is well one [TS]

hand his twitter when you guys look [TS]

great on book anytime you come and [TS]

murder she wrote is playing in the [TS]

background that happens also drive [TS]

memory says canning in another exciting [TS]

feature is now that is exactly how I [TS]

imagined your house is pretty good [TS]

  actually [TS]

so you tweet Twitter amazon actually [TS]

find themselves recommendations to be [TS]

pretty good for me so well you bet you [TS]

want a lot of well here's here's the the [TS]

difference i have two children searching [TS]

for things randomly I don't have that [TS]

problem yeah I did once by like a [TS]

hundred pairs of socks for moms of your [TS]

marketing potential suspect is all socks [TS]

and in order like the 15u a tube of lube [TS]

on by friday did you [TS]

you might also like that's not so there [TS]

was a code was not a Code Red anyone [TS]

for some of us baby also I don't see how [TS]

effective it isn't that that after you [TS]

order a hundred Sox that they would say [TS]

oh you probably didn't really love socks [TS]

you might also enjoy Sox in jars [TS]

actually like the ones on my head just [TS]

like Red Sox it's no toasted side of Red [TS]

Sox me crabs are considered shoes [TS]

anymore actually watches online and now [TS]

all the ads are shoes like shoes yeah [TS]

maybe you need that yeah you need that [TS]

like a contextual advertising where it's [TS]

like have you considered now clips [TS]

shoelaces there's nobody asks possible [TS]

are using Imelda Marcos @ gmail.com [TS]

email you I wrong somebody that was [TS]

probably it a plus love this topic [TS]

already i was just Dan recommended the [TS]

Miles Vorkosigan books so i found a [TS]

whole the world looks the part of our co [TS]

  2nd brother started again [TS]

Tsonga does it say Sokka the state they [TS]

had robots and laser guns they did have [TS]

ages it's really which came to me from [TS]

my family which is where i got a lot [TS]

like my extended family my cousins who [TS]

are huge sci-fi nerd stuff like what I [TS]

call you never read this you need to [TS]

read this and that's why we will beat [TS]

you again with the library to the top [TS]

when I tell ya they got a pillowcase [TS]

filled with paper bags walk over there [TS]

like we were like that you got one hand [TS]

in a book and if you answer wrong is [TS]

slamming down yeah I'm good thom yorke [TS]

true don't marry a librarian to wait i [TS]

  love you yeah I i want i didn't marry a [TS]

librarian look what happened she became [TS]

a library happen to anyone to everyone [TS]

you're listening to the instrument of [TS]

strain now it's a very special episode [TS]

is this is not how libraries work and I [TS]

was talking about Frank Capra film its [TS]

its its spores it's all sports just [TS]

about to close up the library so that [TS]

this is a this is why Steve wasn't until [TS]

episode 9 haha have lingered on like [TS]

crotch rot until five years on such a [TS]

  beautiful way with words [TS]

yeah haha it's really my truth you'll [TS]

always be our meat canary haha we will [TS]

always have the basin is very cool & [TS]

  crash I'm okay haha [TS]

anybody else wanna answer that question [TS]

is about whether you find things David [TS]

you wouldn't talk about that I well you [TS]

know Twitter and friends and walking [TS]

through the library and walking through [TS]

  the bookstore's I mean I state i still [TS]

go to bookstores when I see them in the [TS]

burnt-out husks of shopping malls in the [TS]

post-apocalyptic wilderness but yeah I [TS]

mean that's pretty much it or or if if [TS]

I'm interested in a writer or something [TS]

i will look up other things they have [TS]

done and then go ahead i'll try that i [TS]

really like that scene in fury road [TS]

where they go to the bookstore [TS]

yeah the burnt-out husk of shopping is [TS]

Casey the serendipity of bookstores is [TS]

not what it used to be though because i [TS]

felt like i used to wander through [TS]

bookstores night without never seen this [TS]

before but like nowadays because of the [TS]

way the publishing industry has gone [TS]

even though there is more stuff it seems [TS]

like whenever I feel like a lot of stuff [TS]

going to book series the first see me [TS]

right like oh yeah this you have heard [TS]

of this book i heard this one this one [TS]

has been times I wonder at bookstores [TS]

and look around and say I've never seen [TS]

this before a bookstore I'm a bookstore [TS]

yeah like I mean going through lots of [TS]

airports just this weekend you know I [TS]

stop and look at the bookstore is there [TS]

and it's like wow it's like all the [TS]

child and James Patterson's wasteland [TS]

  daniel silva [TS]

and and then you know chick lit books [TS]

which I mean I'm sure they're fine if [TS]

you like that kind of thing and actually [TS]

Chiclets right next to get the check way [TS]

this is so a little chick purchasing [TS]

children cheering Chiclets healthy soup [TS]

Northwest yeah I've act I've been going [TS]

to enough literary type convention [TS]

slightly that I've actually met a bunch [TS]

of authors whose books I hadn't read and [TS]

luckily so far all of the nice cool [TS]

authors have also been good writers so [TS]

think of it but it when i wrote that [TS]

what did you think you can get into [TS]

reading books is by finding famous [TS]

authors and reading their books next day [TS]

really would you go up next to say what [TS]

book did you read and then you say okay [TS]

and then you go back and come back [TS]

tomorrow with the book to read near them [TS]

so it's an incident of all the process [TS]

  but gets results [TS]

alright TV is my next question which is [TS]

how do you find days [TS]

how do you find your next question [TS]

that's why you don't read in my state [TS]

through i do watch too much television [TS]

it's true so how do you have any priors [TS]

that we are in a time where there are [TS]

more scripted TV series being made than [TS]

ever before so there's a huge amount and [TS]

and it's actually the quality is pretty [TS]

darn good there's a lot of great stuff a [TS]

  lot of good stuff [TS]

how do you prioritize what you spend [TS]

time the distribution channels are more [TS]

limited there in that you know there are [TS]

there are more networks in the room [TS]

before but they're still limited amount [TS]

of network space and time to which to [TS]

develop these things that is the entire [TS]

history of television available on DVD [TS]

or netflix yes you just overwhelmed me [TS]

see if you can identify Iran for [TS]

television for example all 20,000 [TS]

  seasons of murder [TS]

LOL stream on Syria 13,000 ok I'm Royals [TS]

buck rogers in the 25th century the last [TS]

episode of Murder She Wrote she's the [TS]

last please don't shoot a murderer [TS]

yes it turns out she's clearly one of [TS]

  those murders [TS]

one thing in common Jessica Fletcher [TS]

serial murderer never car don't hang [TS]

around this woman so large that episode [TS]

was yours right next to David very [TS]

  necessary skills that imperative [TS]

  electric had it coming [TS]

she's honest one left so i think that [TS]

you know for me I keep my ear to the [TS]

ground as far as like new television [TS]

goes and when a new season comes out and [TS]

sort of like okay this year the three or [TS]

four shows that sounds really [TS]

interesting but a lot of its [TS]

word-of-mouth and for me I kind of I [TS]

generally go buy both for books and TV [TS]

shows and movies I sort of go by a [TS]

two-person rule where it's like if two [TS]

people who are totally unconnected both [TS]

recommend the same thing to me I feel [TS]

like okay that's probably worth checking [TS]

out because if I got like one of my [TS]

cousin's recommending something one of [TS]

my friends recommending something it's [TS]

like well those are two independent [TS]

sources and both of them like this thing [TS]

and I tend to like the things they like [TS]

so that's a pretty good recommendation [TS]

but I also i mean with things like [TS]

netflix and hulu I spent a lot of time [TS]

browsing or just like looking through to [TS]

see a lot of times I ceiling with like [TS]

an actor I like or from a creator that I [TS]

like and just sort of hop from one thing [TS]

to the XO and I know kind of with John [TS]

pajamas i prefer watching so that really [TS]

helps narrow the search a bit [TS]

I don't end up watching a lot of things [TS]

that are like I don't know like soap [TS]

operas for example so I I it i find a [TS]

little bit more containable just because [TS]

look sometimes it seems much more [TS]

overwhelming because there are so many [TS]

books I tend to like a lot of different [TS]

things for his TV I feel like it's [TS]

easier to narrow things down a bit [TS]

there you go that's the damn 1c great we [TS]

  must television [TS]

step one put your ear on the ground [TS]

Scott maybe if you're watching more [TS]

television that sounds too much like [TS]

exercise for me i'm out you have to turn [TS]

three books are watching it and [TS]

  multitask [TS]

yea networks any other anybody else want [TS]

to share their their methodology for [TS]

what they watch on TV or for me it [TS]

depends on what what I need out of [TS]

television a peasant Doctor Who I yeah [TS]

that's a short sharp cookie [TS]

really anti five but sometimes I just [TS]

need to completely venture out and you [TS]

know I get home from a hard day of work [TS]

and I don't even want something with the [TS]

plot so i will put on like a cooking [TS]

competition show so it's really yeah [TS]

it's kind of doctor who or cooking [TS]

competition show or whatever else and [TS]

watching for a podcast and that's about [TS]

all almost about it i just don't have [TS]

time for that and books i go through [TS]

phases where i watch EXTRA TV shows but [TS]

I don't read books anymore so i have to [TS]

have to choose choose wisely and i'm in [TS]

a book phase now so sorry TV [TS]

someday the BBC will release bangers and [TS]

mash with david tennant your rooms with [TS]

my god that's not what he's the [TS]

  time-traveling chef [TS]

  she's a hard-bitten detective to solve [TS]

crimes across time the kitchen [TS]

cool BBC called alright yeah i mean i [TS]

don't i was obsessed with TV when I was [TS]

really little and would watch anything [TS]

and each year when the fall preview [TS]

issue of TV Guide only i would i would [TS]

keep it and I would mark things i would [TS]

analyze I mean I wanted to be Brandon [TS]

turn it off when I was little I wanted [TS]

to figure out good skin is always pay [TS]

attention to that and even now I mean [TS]

yeah it's overwhelming but I still pay [TS]

attention to who's doing what what the [TS]

genre Tsar what the shows are and you [TS]

know if a if all of these people [TS]

involved in the show have made shows [TS]

that i really didn't like I'm probably [TS]

not gonna watch that show but the [TS]

inverse if enough of them have been [TS]

involved in stuff i like I'll give it a [TS]

shot and it might be good might not and [TS]

and now I also know so many playwrights [TS]

who are sort of slipping into writers [TS]

rooms now i'll give their shows a try [TS]

I don't know many that I've stuck with a [TS]

broken in that actually works and watch [TS]

their shows while sitting next to them [TS]

is my question overnight i read their [TS]

  players sitting next know [TS]

do act out their plays while sitting yes [TS]

  I i get paid a lot [TS]

let's apply about a writer been [TS]

confronted by a fan who's sitting next [TS]

to them reading the book that I just ate [TS]

some tail the title before we go I [TS]

wanted a chat room and extend your [TS]

vacation you can have possibly been [TS]

  three hours [TS]

well it's it's time dilation is [TS]

happening I wouldn't ask looking forward [TS]

what thinking about the cat guess what [TS]

are some things that we haven't done [TS]

that we should do in the next year or [TS]

five the minute-by-minute Buffy analysis [TS]

is that what that is this different [TS]

podcast that will you know happen [TS]

eventually once i'm retired from [TS]

podcasting knows God for everything else [TS]

weren't so what yeah what are we doing [TS]

what would you like to do what would you [TS]

like to do this is your your uh i-i've [TS]

got my little topic list that i keep [TS]

compiling and as we go along and I'm [TS]

taking suggestions so what should we do [TS]

i will have been meaning to read the [TS]

foundation trilogy so I'd like to do not [TS]

use about that i'm out that's all yes I [TS]

just gonna do anything like a movie club [TS]

have classic sci-fi book oh that's gonna [TS]

  specify it down [TS]

I think we really need to branch into [TS]

new forms new mediums I think we need to [TS]

discuss like hyper textual fiction I [TS]

don't know if that's the thing that [TS]

comes out virtual reality like in second [TS]

life podcast yeah there's a lot of [TS]

reading and once again scott takes the [TS]

question seriously and gives me a good [TS]

answer Indians just got whatever [TS]

yep that wins 260 episodes Jason what do [TS]

  you expect [TS]

it's true it's tiring David we have any [TS]

other where we all wear oculus rift [TS]

virtual valleys will all be in a room in [TS]

spokane in the virtual i will say that [TS]

her so do it is though it is off topic [TS]

for the incomparable podcast it might [TS]

match with some of our other podcast [TS]

actually think it would be really fun to [TS]

do a performance of something like i [TS]

don't know i think we fun to do like a [TS]

library of a Shakespeare play with the [TS]

incomparable cats love to i think that [TS]

  would be hilarious [TS]

I would love to do that and i found [TS]

interesting about I cast my last second [TS]

how do you feel about the Shakespeare [TS]

  episode of Gilligan's Island [TS]

oh yes you be there when I thought you [TS]

might be that is the question that I ask [TS]

of me I have serious concerns and I'm [TS]

sorry you're trapped in that corner but [TS]

we're leaving you but then for yourself [TS]

there's a window dad know about will get [TS]

to meet Canaries so I say Steve if you [TS]

have any idea anything on the to-do list [TS]

you just going to wait for the doodles [TS]

to come in and get what i say i really [TS]

don't have anything to contribute Jason [TS]

  huh [TS]

I five years on I'm still not entirely [TS]

sure why I'm on this bike and going [TS]

because you're handcuffed to a chair and [TS]

even episode we explain that maybe the [TS]

orange the secret origin of see blocks [TS]

Oh secret identity of the meeting area [TS]

I've never seen them together as [TS]

promised I've kind of a kind of receded [TS]

from TV and long time ago books and I've [TS]

got such a limited amount of time to to [TS]

deal with any media at all with the kids [TS]

in the work and all that stuff and [TS]

usually when I have a spare half an hour [TS]

or so i'll find some old game that i [TS]

meant to play in 1993 and old game club [TS]

so the extent of the media that I [TS]

consume literally as stuff that other [TS]

people have recommended for the podcast [TS]

which is great because it forces me to [TS]

broaden my horizons a little bit but I [TS]

don't spend a lot of time thinking about [TS]

what else I should drive and frankly [TS]

don't have the time for it [TS]

we've got we've got you under our power [TS]

that you in control america and i think [TS]

i said earlier that i like that you guys [TS]

give me rails so i don't have to come up [TS]

with me yeah it's a good alright the [TS]

podcast still firmly in your control [TS]

just giving you a statement right there [TS]

on the internet for suggesting an [TS]

episode i try to stay tuned for that [TS]

fact that i would be on that episode [TS]

she's got one asking for more homework [TS]

while you're at it look [TS]

alright I think we have reached an [TS]

ending point what of this entire but [TS]

since you don't find before you a small [TS]

cup of kool aid vicious say hello to the [TS]

meat canary for me all the listeners who [TS]

signed up for our special mailing list [TS]

will see a small packet in the mail you [TS]

should probably bring that up now and [TS]

watch watch for the comet overhead for [TS]

your infinite tube didn't know that to [TS]

Jason and that's it doesn't have they [TS]

  made the kool-aid I don't have a special [TS]

Nikes and your game for concho you get [TS]

only a purple white hands that we send [TS]

that sand and watch for the stone head [TS]

  floating outside your house [TS]

Scott I roll the dice 12 is that head [TS]

and I don't know you hit all of us all [TS]

right we have all failed are saving [TS]

throw against podcast so I like to thank [TS]

my guests for joining me around the [TS]

table for this the fifth anniversary [TS]

episode of the incomparable de Morgan [TS]

thank you for being here on so many [TS]

episodes see in five years you soon okay [TS]

until then David Laura your secret to [TS]

being on many episodes that you just [TS]

want to say yes to every single episode [TS]

I don't know how you do it well you pick [TS]

a lot of things I've already seen and [TS]

read and I'm i like talking about the [TS]

  argument of saying yes [TS]

yeah hey idea of saying yeah sure when I [TS]

was smart enough not to join the [TS]

superhero spectacular you gotta give me [TS]

  that [TS]

oh yeah i can get you in on that after [TS]

the super stacker is over you might be [TS]

the only person like no no no I'm [TS]

staying away from that you are Eric and [TS]

David will have their own show where you [TS]

offered like a major off the founding [TS]

member scott McNulty thank you for being [TS]

  here since episode one [TS]

it's my pleasure can leave this room no [TS]

no Steve lights I don't know why you're [TS]

  here either [TS]

thank you for being here thank you Jason [TS]

forgiven me yet another reason to [TS]

  question my life choices [TS]

America is I'm so glad that you could [TS]

join us too yeah I still feel like the [TS]

new kid on the block maybe after another [TS]

five years I won't maybe yeah after we [TS]

introduce the people were gonna kill the [TS]

rest of the ok it's very good it's like [TS]

  a reality show [TS]

yeah and today and finally thanks to [TS]

everybody out there I if you have [TS]

reached this point in this podcast you [TS]

are the greatest podcast listeners [TS]

effort and you need to probably seek [TS]

help as well so thank you so much and [TS]

just went when you seek help wear [TS]

  sunscreen trust me [TS]

yeah so thank you to all all the people [TS]

out there will be back with a normal [TS]

episode maybe next week or it'll be one [TS]

of the superhero figure and sixty will [TS]

eventually have a normal and this is [TS]

gonna happen to have law of averages [TS]

yeah it's just about to happen [TS]

eventually but until then this jason [TS]

smell your host signing off for five [TS]

years and will probably be back next [TS]

week this probably isn't the last [TS]

episode right then probably all right [TS]

you can take who can say that the future [TS]

is promised to no one [TS]

  recording [TS]
