00:00:56   wow you're good on Twitter rollingwood [TS]

00:00:58   do was the last time you watched a [TS]

00:01:00   godfather to her recently [TS]

00:01:03   I feel like I'm my dream in my at all [TS]

00:01:05   the time but I has been a long time [TS]

00:01:08   because as you know i don't have a TV [TS]

00:01:10   well uh huh but I've been make me earn [TS]

00:01:16   been confused about this is a question I [TS]

00:01:19   can put to you and maybe some of your [TS]

00:01:21   friends in the tech industry can help me [TS]

00:01:23   also the people in the app community [TS]

00:01:24   some people in the app community some of [TS]

00:01:27   the people that are let's say the [TS]

00:01:29   disruptors sure let's reach out [TS]

00:01:31   okay i want to watch movies [TS]

00:01:34   ok where I wanna watch I wanna watch my [TS]

00:01:39   choice of movies [TS]

00:01:40   ok John Johnson wants to watch movies he [TS]

00:01:42   wants to be his choice of movies okay so [TS]

00:01:44   I was a good I want to look at a spec [TS]

00:01:46   right now doing a little outline [TS]

00:01:48   okay i want to watch a movie of my [TS]

00:01:50   choice I don't want to log onto aside [TS]

00:01:52   and have them recommend the walking dead [TS]

00:01:54   to me right [TS]

00:01:56   I don't want to have that because one [TS]

00:01:58   time i watched to clint eastwood movie I [TS]

00:02:00   don't want to have the thing recommend [TS]

00:02:02   the same for Clint Eastwood movies to me [TS]

00:02:04   every time I go on the internet okay so [TS]

00:02:06   john wants to watch movies of his choice [TS]

00:02:08   he does not want to be helped [TS]

00:02:10   that's right i don't want any help i [TS]

00:02:11   just i know the movies I want to see the [TS]

00:02:12   straight to the movie you want to launch [TS]

00:02:14   here's what here's what what I want [TS]

00:02:18   well i have a friend i want to show this [TS]

00:02:23   friend some movies of my you know my [TS]

00:02:26   movies the movies of my life [TS]

00:02:28   this is a thing I always expected one [TS]

00:02:31   day with [TS]

00:02:31   with my daughter sister friend [TS]

00:02:32   millennium should be with you well let's [TS]

00:02:35   talk about my daughter for a second [TS]

00:02:36   portion 14 and I'll sit on a chair and [TS]

00:02:38   I'll say this is the breakfast club [TS]

00:02:41   ok or the breakfast club attention and [TS]

00:02:44   she won't be interested but it'll be [TS]

00:02:46   like it'll be like whatever they tried [TS]

00:02:48   to sit me down and make me watch It's a [TS]

00:02:50   Wonderful Life right right but yes I so [TS]

00:02:54   my my millennium friend my millennium [TS]

00:02:56   girlfriend who has never seen blade [TS]

00:02:58   runner [TS]

00:02:59   well she's never here anymore that's God [TS]

00:03:03   father's she's never seen in the law [TS]

00:03:07   school but she hasn't seen the Godfather [TS]

00:03:09   movies I can't be that's not a form i [TS]

00:03:12   don't understand I don't understand a [TS]

00:03:14   lot of things she's not writing time [TS]

00:03:16   conciliatory here's here's the thing i [TS]

00:03:18   did occur to me the other day there's an [TS]

00:03:20   in that one day the last person who ever [TS]

00:03:25   sat in a movie theater and yelled focus [TS]

00:03:29   will be gone who it there are barely any [TS]

00:03:34   of us left now you can you imagine [TS]

00:03:37   they're there are dozens and dozens of [TS]

00:03:40   people maybe hundreds of dozens [TS]

00:03:41   listening to this show right now have no [TS]

00:03:43   idea what I'm talking about [TS]

00:03:45   yeah focus yeah haha how did you ever [TS]

00:03:48   get up out of a movie and walk up the [TS]

00:03:51   aisle to find the projection projections [TS]

00:03:55   to students by this to cream butter your [TS]

00:03:58   collar and a focus [TS]

00:04:00   yeah I have mom I didn't feel like that [TS]

00:04:02   at least one occasion probably two [TS]

00:04:04   occasions I have gone and sort out some [TS]

00:04:07   technical help with what was happening [TS]

00:04:08   in the theater especially at we had a [TS]

00:04:11   phenomenon in eighties and nineties was [TS]

00:04:13   the dollar theater where if you have [TS]

00:04:16   this where you were but least in [TS]

00:04:18   sarasota was called it was called Tatro [TS]

00:04:20   there was a place that show movies for a [TS]

00:04:22   dollar and it would be like late in the [TS]

00:04:25   run of the movie or second run movies [TS]

00:04:27   but it's still a pretty good movie you [TS]

00:04:29   go see like a regular movie for a dollar [TS]

00:04:31   I think they got pretty slack about the [TS]

00:04:33   project this is back in the day you know [TS]

00:04:35   we have to watch for the little blip in [TS]

00:04:36   the corner know when to change the next [TS]

00:04:37   Real all that kind of stuff and I you [TS]

00:04:40   know when I'll be honest I've got not [TS]

00:04:41   only seen outside help [TS]

00:04:42   yeah yeah time [TS]

00:04:44   hundred up and down in the ne in the [TS]

00:04:47   halls of a movie theater ya goin fuckin [TS]

00:04:50   trying to get somebody to come back in [TS]

00:04:52   and focus the camera but none of that [TS]

00:04:54   that doesn't really have a meeting of [TS]

00:04:56   the day anyway [TS]

00:04:57   yeah right focus focus please [TS]

00:05:00   um you know I've been I've been showing [TS]

00:05:02   her movies do the general plan for this [TS]

00:05:06   is a haphazard thing is that this [TS]

00:05:07   occurred to me thing or have you worked [TS]

00:05:09   out a syllabus for her [TS]

00:05:10   well so here's the problem the first [TS]

00:05:14   thing the first attempt i made was Oh [TS]

00:05:18   close encounters of the third time [TS]

00:05:20   you've got to see Close Encounters of [TS]

00:05:21   the Third Kind she was like never heard [TS]

00:05:24   of it [TS]

00:05:24   alright so I i am able to find it on the [TS]

00:05:30   internet my cue it up and we're watching [TS]

00:05:33   it and she doesn't fall asleep but you [TS]

00:05:40   can tell she would fall asleep if [TS]

00:05:43   someone were watching her if someone [TS]

00:05:45   were going huh [TS]

00:05:46   right right yesterday and has and as I'm [TS]

00:05:49   watching it I'm realizing oh this was a [TS]

00:05:52   movie made in the nineteen seventies the [TS]

00:05:53   pacing pacing is very different yeah [TS]

00:05:56   very different and also mean the first [TS]

00:06:00   20 minutes of the movie just establishes [TS]

00:06:06   that there was his but Travis Dreyfus [TS]

00:06:13   just establishes that drivers has a [TS]

00:06:15   really a like unhappy home life right [TS]

00:06:20   everybody shouting at each other [TS]

00:06:22   the kids are out of control the wife [TS]

00:06:25   doesn't understand him but but what it [TS]

00:06:28   effectively is is 20 minutes of yelling [TS]

00:06:31   like how yelling in the house everybody [TS]

00:06:34   yelling and i remember i think it was [TS]

00:06:38   innovative at the time because there [TS]

00:06:40   weren't a lot of movies that showed what [TS]

00:06:44   what I guess past for like wow this is [TS]

00:06:48   real it feels real it's like we're [TS]

00:06:50   really in these people's homes still [TS]

00:06:52   work i think is was very good and maybe [TS]

00:06:55   some pioneering in [TS]

00:06:57   sighs and blockbuster miss of his movies [TS]

00:06:58   he was good at doing a lot of the [TS]

00:07:01   setting pictures think about how good [TS]

00:07:03   jobs does something very similar where [TS]

00:07:05   you're just going to get a feel for [TS]

00:07:06   what's going on in this little vacation [TS]

00:07:08   community before anything happens but [TS]

00:07:11   sort of like what if you watch you'll [TS]

00:07:13   remember watching lonesome dove at the [TS]

00:07:15   time I've never seen lots of death so [TS]

00:07:17   lonesome dove was a major television [TS]

00:07:19   event [TS]

00:07:19   uh-huh and it was you know there was a [TS]

00:07:22   lot of like gory violence it was it was [TS]

00:07:26   supposed to be really really like like [TS]

00:07:29   cities in Munich yeah cinematic but also [TS]

00:07:32   like no one had never before seen levels [TS]

00:07:36   of truth it's not gonna be like an after [TS]

00:07:40   school special a lifetime movie this is [TS]

00:07:42   the real stuff right but when you watch [TS]

00:07:44   it now uh it just seems corny right the [TS]

00:07:48   costume seem very much like costumes [TS]

00:07:50   there's a lot of slapstick humor to try [TS]

00:07:53   and level 11 the occasional violence [TS]

00:07:57   like relative to even Unforgiven it just [TS]

00:08:03   seems like a like a TV like a TV [TS]

00:08:05   westerns by the way if you like Clint [TS]

00:08:07   Eastwood movies i can recommend some for [TS]

00:08:09   you [TS]

00:08:09   oh thank you thank you but so watching [TS]

00:08:13   Close Encounters I realized oh the [TS]

00:08:16   pacing is really slow [TS]

00:08:18   there's a lot of just sort of bickering [TS]

00:08:21   that now like we get plenty of bickering [TS]

00:08:25   on TV right there is I mean eighty [TS]

00:08:26   percent of all TV now is just people [TS]

00:08:29   yelling at each other you about about I [TS]

00:08:31   mean I see it on when I'm when I'm in [TS]

00:08:34   here for your reading the trades [TS]

00:08:36   yeah it's up there on this it's up there [TS]

00:08:38   on the screen [TS]

00:08:39   yeah apparently only a short especially [TS]

00:08:41   the news things that they put on a [TS]

00:08:43   screen and airports a lot of yelling [TS]

00:08:44   everybody's yelling there's a lot of [TS]

00:08:45   yelling and I also know that people are [TS]

00:08:47   yelling about house renovations and they [TS]

00:08:51   have to make fashion items very quickly [TS]

00:08:54   yes other stuff a lot of yelling so so [TS]

00:08:58   yeah she's not into close encounters and [TS]

00:09:00   I'm seeing it through her eyes and I'm [TS]

00:09:02   like oh [TS]

00:09:03   how right okay okay okay well close [TS]

00:09:06   encounters is sort of an anomalous here [TS]

00:09:08   because also the amazing special special [TS]

00:09:13   effects and the notion that aliens were [TS]

00:09:16   visiting us which were also bury new [TS]

00:09:19   like new to consider now our mundane and [TS]

00:09:23   commonplace yeah so I go okay gay [TS]

00:09:26   let's watch the sting and I pull up the [TS]

00:09:32   sting sting Cal you know that's a really [TS]

00:09:34   good film but it kinda looks a lot like [TS]

00:09:36   a TV movie [TS]

00:09:37   well looks like a TV movie and also from [TS]

00:09:40   the opening credits i realized that [TS]

00:09:43   seventies movie right so yeah what it in [TS]

00:09:46   in a contemporary movie the car would [TS]

00:09:48   pull up and then the person driving the [TS]

00:09:53   car would bust in the door and say the [TS]

00:09:55   line it's you know it's springtime for [TS]

00:09:58   Hitler or whatever [TS]

00:09:59   yeah I don't remember the dialogue yeah [TS]

00:10:01   but in this in the stain the car pulls [TS]

00:10:04   up outside we see the guy get out of the [TS]

00:10:07   car run across the street in the door [TS]

00:10:11   and up four flights of stairs and we [TS]

00:10:14   watched him go up four flights of stairs [TS]

00:10:17   from like seven different camera angles [TS]

00:10:19   then down a hall we see his hand hit the [TS]

00:10:24   doorknob he opens the door walks through [TS]

00:10:27   the office to the second door opens the [TS]

00:10:30   door and says his line and we never see [TS]

00:10:31   that actor again it's pretty impressed [TS]

00:10:33   and you go well that was a but I was a [TS]

00:10:38   real adventure and it did not move the [TS]

00:10:41   plot forward at all and the whole time [TS]

00:10:44   you're thinking to yourself is this guy [TS]

00:10:46   important is he gonna get shot on these [TS]

00:10:47   stairs is he going to get shot in this [TS]

00:10:50   hallway like we're gonna really really [TS]

00:10:52   following this guy so she falls asleep [TS]

00:10:56   yeah and I'm like oh my god is this this [TS]

00:11:00   is going to happen a blade runner to [TS]

00:11:01   like she's not gonna fall asleep during [TS]

00:11:04   blade runner i can I wouldn't I wouldn't [TS]

00:11:05   know what to do in that case you don't [TS]

00:11:07   I'm decisions my friend [TS]

00:11:09   well and so I mean what I'm doing right [TS]

00:11:11   now is like [TS]

00:11:12   lay let's lay the Godfather way back [TS]

00:11:15   we're going to put it way but way back [TS]

00:11:17   because I well that's the type of thing [TS]

00:11:20   we're probably going to have to watch at [TS]

00:11:22   one o'clock in the afternoon and that's [TS]

00:11:24   not gonna make any sense but there's no [TS]

00:11:28   way I'm going to like lay in bed and [TS]

00:11:30   watch the godfather in the context of [TS]

00:11:32   like oh you're gonna love this fall [TS]

00:11:35   asleep right but the problem is before i [TS]

00:11:39   even get to that point I can't find the [TS]

00:11:41   blade runner i can't find find how to [TS]

00:11:42   watch it really Blade Runner is out [TS]

00:11:45   there i know i could tour it or [TS]

00:11:47   something i could hunt in a good onion [TS]

00:11:49   torrid yeah if I wanted to watch it [TS]

00:11:52   without any bluetooths or somehow get on [TS]

00:11:56   there without my location services [TS]

00:11:58   concern is it later might only be on the [TS]

00:12:00   dark web [TS]

00:12:01   yeah the one where else can you find it [TS]

00:12:04   yet the stream it which means you have [TS]

00:12:06   to you know you log on and give your IP [TS]

00:12:08   address [TS]

00:12:09   you know what you're right yeah the idea [TS]

00:12:11   yet put it right in at the IP I don't [TS]

00:12:13   want to put my IP addresses i watch the [TS]

00:12:15   movie just show me the movie that's [TS]

00:12:16   right it's on the internet somewhere i [TS]

00:12:18   know it is the internet should be like a [TS]

00:12:20   big TV where you go him and you say [TS]

00:12:23   internet serie I want to watch [TS]

00:12:26   apocalypse now and not the red you [TS]

00:12:29   version because that version is garbage [TS]

00:12:32   trash but actually there are a couple of [TS]

00:12:39   scenes in the rydia version that are [TS]

00:12:42   kind of cool [TS]

00:12:44   I think you should watch ready for the [TS]

00:12:46   fifth dealing not god i do not think [TS]

00:12:49   that ninety percent of that the pole [TS]

00:12:52   french chateau [TS]

00:12:54   it's very interesting as that it's like [TS]

00:12:56   reading it's like it's like reserve [TS]

00:12:58   reading for the movie like it adds [TS]

00:13:00   things to it but like it was a good [TS]

00:13:02   decision to cut it out of the original [TS]

00:13:04   release [TS]

00:13:04   yeah the whole scene where they go to a [TS]

00:13:07   third location with the playboy bunnies [TS]

00:13:09   yeah I don't need to see that I could [TS]

00:13:11   imagine it mhm but if i could say Siri i [TS]

00:13:18   would like to see the original [TS]

00:13:20   Apocalypse Now [TS]

00:13:21   with the following two additional 30 [TS]

00:13:25   seconds snippets from read yet i see [TS]

00:13:28   that i would like I would like to have [TS]

00:13:31   because they are the ones that I'll that [TS]

00:13:32   I liked [TS]

00:13:33   so you want you to have the internet [TS]

00:13:35   that movies with nixon's you want your [TS]

00:13:36   ability it's like an ice cream place and [TS]

00:13:39   you're like you know give me give me a [TS]

00:13:41   little bit of heat heath bar but I don't [TS]

00:13:43   want sprinkles ego and you get your own [TS]

00:13:45   bespoke version of a movie that you [TS]

00:13:47   enjoy even though you don't on TV [TS]

00:13:48   yeah yeah exactly right if you give [TS]

00:13:50   George Lucas can go put a like smoke [TS]

00:13:54   rings around death stars huh and claim [TS]

00:13:58   that that's his artistic we had a vision [TS]

00:14:00   yeah like in today's world were all [TS]

00:14:03   artists were all remixers hall [TS]

00:14:05   university no well makers John we're on [TS]

00:14:08   bakers right if I take your work and [TS]

00:14:11   consume it and poop it out [TS]

00:14:14   it belongs to me so why can't I put [TS]

00:14:17   smoke rings around a Butch Cassidy and [TS]

00:14:21   the Sundance Kid [TS]

00:14:22   well that's a really good point without [TS]

00:14:23   actually online without letting your IP [TS]

00:14:25   address [TS]

00:14:26   I don't wanna put my IP in there yeah i [TS]

00:14:29   don't know if i can find sure sure but [TS]

00:14:31   uh but if of when Butch Cassidy and [TS]

00:14:33   Sundance Kid jump off the equipment to [TS]

00:14:35   the river why not have an explosion here [TS]

00:14:40   the kind of in several insufferable [TS]

00:14:42   person that I am there's times when you [TS]

00:14:44   want somebody to really really listen to [TS]

00:14:45   what they said so you might want to see [TS]

00:14:47   a very short snippet of a scene to play [TS]

00:15:48   match in minneapolis California are [TS]

00:15:50   those are going to be lost like tears in [TS]

00:15:52   rain to a good thanksgiving in [TS]

00:16:30   yeah sure yeah and I wouldn't think it'd [TS]

00:16:32   be real rainy in minneapolis california [TS]

00:16:34   in november again and I was hawking [TS]

00:16:38   tickets that was my job at the time [TS]

00:16:39   Walker i had a friend that worked at the [TS]

00:16:42   work does a company whoever and he [TS]

00:16:47   worked in the ticket office and he could [TS]

00:16:48   always get me like four extra tickets to [TS]

00:16:51   you know to haircut 100 or the English [TS]

00:16:53   Peter whatever and he would give me for [TS]

00:16:56   tickets and I could hock them right [TS]

00:16:58   scalp them [TS]

00:16:59   oh I see it's kind of like it's like a [TS]

00:17:02   like Amway or something [TS]

00:17:03   yeah well but I mean it's on the [TS]

00:17:05   download right he's thinking these [TS]

00:17:14   that's right yeah yeah right all course [TS]

00:17:16   that's where he did is famous [TS]

00:17:17   introduction of purple rain that bomb on [TS]

00:17:20   the bow [TS]

00:17:21   don't don't don't know [TS]

00:17:26   just found without feeling too much [TS]

00:17:31   about your technology stack John mom [TS]

00:17:33   when you're watching television [TS]

00:17:36   entertainment and given that you clearly [TS]

00:17:38   do not own a television set or have [TS]

00:17:40   access to a television set [TS]

00:17:42   you watching on unlike a laptop that's [TS]

00:17:44   what I have to do now and the millennium [TS]

00:17:47   is used to that [TS]

00:17:48   Yeah Yeah right you know she's watching [TS]

00:17:51   mindy kaling on there all the time sure [TS]

00:17:53   many can identify cut that you know they [TS]

00:17:55   started doing that a few years ago with [TS]

00:17:57   their cutting stuff differently knowing [TS]

00:17:58   that people are going to watch it on [TS]

00:17:59   different sized screens really you get [TS]

00:18:01   more get more close-up shots you don't [TS]

00:18:03   get as much so and it varies who knows [TS]

00:18:05   how that's changed because not [TS]

00:18:06   everyone's a TV anymore [TS]

00:18:07   what kind of my dear you a little bit [TS]

00:18:09   about your Millennium girlfriend [TS]

00:18:10   distaste for you're going now does she [TS]

00:18:14   feel anything similar with regard to you [TS]

00:18:17   does she feel like you need to see saved [TS]

00:18:21   by the bell the postgraduate years or I [TS]

00:18:24   don't even know what Millennials watch [TS]

00:18:25   this you want you to watch out David [TS]

00:18:27   Blaine videos on youtube [TS]

00:18:28   how does does she feel the need to [TS]

00:18:30   inculcate you into her values as well [TS]

00:18:33   well yes but she is much more interested [TS]

00:18:35   in in contemporary think she wants me to [TS]

00:18:40   watch black mirror election winner [TS]

00:18:43   that's good [TS]

00:18:44   well i have and i do enjoy black mirror [TS]

00:18:47   okay but it's but when I'm what I'm [TS]

00:18:50   thinking oh I want to watch it like a [TS]

00:18:52   diversion or do the diversion ille [TS]

00:18:56   program who black mirror seems like [TS]

00:19:01   something that I need to really focus my [TS]

00:19:04   attention yeah I'm on that way with a [TS]

00:19:05   lot of stuff like that one is world i [TS]

00:19:08   have got to just sit down and like just [TS]

00:19:10   watch westerns a TV show by the way [TS]

00:19:11   don't know I've been watching west shut [TS]

00:19:13   up i have what are you up to what [TS]

00:19:15   episode you [TS]

00:19:16   MSC well I would spoiler now we're not [TS]

00:19:19   gonna know we're going to talk about the [TS]

00:19:20   plot [TS]

00:19:21   ok but the now I don't last night in WoW [TS]

00:19:24   was that everything I don't count [TS]

00:19:26   episodes [TS]

00:19:27   ok I'm up to the one where it's past [TS]

00:19:31   little like whoa [TS]

00:19:33   say what you like around six probably [TS]

00:19:35   six or seven something like that words [TS]

00:19:37   like whoa [TS]

00:19:38   ok this is divided what we thought you [TS]

00:19:40   know yeah but i also a long time ago [TS]

00:19:44   stopped really closely examining the [TS]

00:19:47   plot because haha pretty close to like [TS]

00:19:52   three episodes and I said hmm ok alright [TS]

00:19:57   there's a lot of there's a lot of time [TS]

00:19:59   compression happening here that isn't [TS]

00:20:01   being explicitly you think described ok [TS]

00:20:05   that's enough that's enough [TS]

00:20:07   alright alright alright around ride I [TS]

00:20:08   would encourage you to stick with it i [TS]

00:20:10   think you I'm a fan so I can't sit okay [TS]

00:20:13   okay guy down [TS]

00:20:14   ok interesting so she watches that now [TS]

00:20:16   here's what i have to say what I find a [TS]

00:20:18   little bit perplexing about this and [TS]

00:20:20   then I find perplexing about millenniums [TS]

00:20:21   in general is like for awhile you hear [TS]

00:20:23   millennium say well a like of course i [TS]

00:20:27   know i love lucy you're gonna smoke that [TS]

00:20:30   was right and reruns on cable all the [TS]

00:20:32   time you see months back and I'm barely [TS]

00:20:37   seen Gunsmoke I mean horse like Gunsmoke [TS]

00:20:39   modern animals on for like a hundred [TS]

00:20:40   nineteen years back sure but but like [TS]

00:20:42   that's the thing is a lot of my name's [TS]

00:20:44   maybe a little bit older than her have [TS]

00:20:46   seen lots of stuff because one cable now [TS]

00:20:48   my question is I don't I don't want to [TS]

00:20:49   sound normative but she Amish or [TS]

00:20:51   something that she just not watch a [TS]

00:20:52   bunch of like USA when she was a in high [TS]

00:20:55   school [TS]

00:20:56   hmm well here's the problem oh no she [TS]

00:20:58   homeschooled [TS]

00:20:59   no she grew up in the Netherlands all [TS]

00:21:02   for the love Wow and women's wait [TS]

00:21:05   there's more because in the Netherlands [TS]

00:21:07   they watched american TV okay but have [TS]

00:21:10   hard-coded dutch subs no no no that's [TS]

00:21:13   how the that's how the nether Landers [TS]

00:21:15   the nederlandse need to know how to see [TS]

00:21:17   English so well because they're its [TS]

00:21:20   small country and it wasn't it wasn't a [TS]

00:21:22   big enough country where it made [TS]

00:21:23   financial sense to like overdub TV shows [TS]

00:21:28   triggers you spend all this money having [TS]

00:21:31   a Dutch guide you know like blue [TS]

00:21:33   vishnuvardhan the over the thing you [TS]

00:21:36   know they just broadcast that shows in [TS]

00:21:39   their original American language and so [TS]

00:21:42   the Dutch were like that's close enough [TS]

00:21:43   to touch we'll figure it out and then [TS]

00:21:45   they all speak English better than we do [TS]

00:21:47   yeah whereas in France [TS]

00:21:50   where French is a big enough country [TS]

00:21:52   that they can spend the money to have [TS]

00:21:55   dubbed into French yeah that none of [TS]

00:21:59   them can speak a word of English know [TS]

00:22:00   that should they choose not to they [TS]

00:22:01   prefer not to [TS]

00:22:03   yeah if you if you go to if you go to [TS]

00:22:05   most countries in Europe you'll find [TS]

00:22:08   that the the people that that have even [TS]

00:22:10   a monochrome of Education speak English [TS]

00:22:12   pretty well to him but in front like [TS]

00:22:16   even the even professors of English in [TS]

00:22:19   front can't speak English at all you [TS]

00:22:20   don't learn too much [TS]

00:22:21   well right because it would you know it [TS]

00:22:24   would make you start to not like Jerry [TS]

00:22:26   Lewis oh IC see you don't want to know [TS]

00:22:29   what's going on [TS]

00:22:30   it's kind of cultural / 50 yeah okay [TS]

00:22:33   anyway so not only does she grew up in [TS]

00:22:36   touch in the major lamb ok but went to [TS]

00:22:40   British schools in front [TS]

00:22:45   how my god so blue and rails which [TS]

00:22:50   seemed you know what I mean like I keep [TS]

00:22:52   trying to figure it out like did you [TS]

00:22:53   still know what this is but she's like [TS]

00:22:56   you know she's by all appearances [TS]

00:22:59   American speaks in unaccented English [TS]

00:23:02   nose gets a lot of references to things [TS]

00:23:05   that are obscure if you try Jason Bourne [TS]

00:23:08   movies [TS]

00:23:10   well see that's over the line of like a [TS]

00:23:12   really quick cutting lots of punching [TS]

00:23:15   everything's happening SuperDuper fast [TS]

00:23:17   with no attention [TS]

00:23:19   you don't even have to have an attention [TS]

00:23:20   span because it's just like somebody put [TS]

00:23:23   something you're riding a bullet [TS]

00:23:25   you know what I mean like well you and I [TS]

00:23:29   want to like show all these movies that [TS]

00:23:31   are you know i'm i'm not trying to show [TS]

00:23:33   deer hunter which has a 45-minute long [TS]

00:23:36   scene where we're just add a shitty [TS]

00:23:37   wedding somewhere [TS]

00:23:39   Oh like haha well that's true it's [TS]

00:23:43   important it's important but you're at a [TS]

00:23:45   wedding [TS]

00:23:46   it's 45 minutes at a wedding you don't [TS]

00:23:48   know my godfather and Godfather Part one [TS]

00:23:50   that wedding is a huge amount of [TS]

00:23:53   world-building like huge amount of [TS]

00:23:55   introducing you to this giant cast of [TS]

00:23:57   characters and it's got a lot of story [TS]

00:23:59   in it and it's got a lot of portent you [TS]

00:24:01   get super dark office in the super over [TS]

00:24:03   on outside wedding and now that's a [TS]

00:24:05   wedding scene that really carries its [TS]

00:24:06   water well Johnny Fontane shows up and [TS]

00:24:11   makes a big splash [TS]

00:24:12   yeah because you know if you got that [TS]

00:24:13   that would save his career making a big [TS]

00:24:15   shot if you got that movies right that's [TS]

00:24:17   right just to show you I'm not [TS]

00:24:18   hard-hearted man there's no way gasps [TS]

00:24:20   gasps I ever had [TS]

00:24:21   there's no way I'm casting Johnny [TS]

00:24:22   Fontane in this picture big senior [TS]

00:24:25   pictures [TS]

00:24:26   the problem is listen nobody comes to [TS]

00:24:31   Las Vegas and speaks that way you don't [TS]

00:24:33   keep that way to go green [TS]

00:24:35   [Music] [TS]

00:24:37   who gave the order can I did I complain [TS]

00:24:41   when no green was shot [TS]

00:24:44   did I ask who gave the order to make [TS]

00:24:46   that noise to that that was the first [TS]

00:24:51   movie i'm sure about this before and [TS]

00:24:53   that was Lee Strasburg first movie [TS]

00:24:55   yeah right after all those years of [TS]

00:24:57   teaching to play ball and he is not for [TS]

00:25:00   everybody was like what you like what [TS]

00:25:02   you doing I think it's very good and you [TS]

00:25:04   got a nice emotional attachment but you [TS]

00:25:06   considered having some kind of a dick [TS]

00:25:08   like maybe you have a heart problem [TS]

00:25:10   seagull what's he uh he did a good job [TS]

00:25:15   in that film you know we don't want [TS]

00:25:17   favorite scenes of him just just a shot [TS]

00:25:19   where they go to his house and he's [TS]

00:25:22   watching the ballgame he's got his foot [TS]

00:25:24   up on the on the chair and Mike comes in [TS]

00:25:26   and they talk about what they're going [TS]

00:25:28   to do and whether he can make a move on [TS]

00:25:30   the on the brothers [TS]

00:25:32   mmm is that it knows you know it's about [TS]

00:25:34   what he can make a move on to cleanse up [TS]

00:25:36   i forget anyway at that point it's just [TS]

00:25:38   a shot just as pretty tight shot where [TS]

00:25:41   the rock grabs a potato chip [TS]

00:25:44   he says a small potatoes haha so good [TS]

00:25:49   now i want that means is that what we're [TS]

00:25:53   pushing Klingon out for the you know [TS]

00:25:56   that always get you great euphemism for [TS]

00:25:58   pooping money [TS]

00:25:59   yeah that's you mr. Simon out anyway [TS]

00:26:03   yeah okay so what I want what I want [TS]

00:26:07   guarantee that is to be able to watch [TS]

00:26:13   films right [TS]

00:26:16   ok so we're pivoting back to the [TS]

00:26:17   original kind of mentioned just I'm [TS]

00:26:19   sorry I don't want to take you off your [TS]

00:26:20   topic we haven't talked in awhile and [TS]

00:26:21   missed you i want to just tell you i [TS]

00:26:23   miss just one movie and just get through [TS]

00:26:25   this out i know this is random [TS]

00:26:27   I don't ride back to the future well no [TS]

00:26:30   because now this is going to get me in a [TS]

00:26:34   little bit of trouble boy [TS]

00:26:35   Oh No obviously obviously back to the [TS]

00:26:39   future is very important to me at the [TS]

00:26:40   time [TS]

00:26:41   okc have seen it oh come on dog let's [TS]

00:26:45   get 30 times that watched it twice in a [TS]

00:26:48   hotel room with the next its don't [TS]

00:26:51   fucking good [TS]

00:26:52   hey kid why the life preserver give you [TS]

00:26:55   a tab but you gotta pay for it [TS]

00:26:58   uh-huh matter what [TS]

00:27:02   come on Barry but that scene is so [TS]

00:27:07   painful when he holds on the phone I [TS]

00:27:09   want her to hurts [TS]

00:27:10   ok so what's your what's your bold brave [TS]

00:27:13   realization about back to the future [TS]

00:27:14   well think about back to the future is [TS]

00:27:17   to you too [TS]

00:27:19   mmm a little bit on the peggy sue got [TS]

00:27:22   married tip I mean you know I know [TS]

00:27:26   that's like no that's not to apply [TS]

00:27:27   certainly its clock my friend Swiss [TS]

00:27:30   clock [TS]

00:27:31   well yeah I mean there's no dead weight [TS]

00:27:34   in there but I really feel like Eric [TS]

00:27:36   Stoltz it was my guy [TS]

00:27:39   oh you're still you're still miffed that [TS]

00:27:40   he wasn't Marty I'm a little bit miffed [TS]

00:27:41   like imagine what the American imagine [TS]

00:27:43   the job [TS]

00:27:44   imagine the like super unfunny delivery [TS]

00:27:47   of Eric Stoltz instead of the the [TS]

00:27:49   constant spit taking of michael j fox [TS]

00:27:51   i'll be falls down all the time it's [TS]

00:27:53   hilarious [TS]

00:27:54   it would have been a way worse movie [TS]

00:27:55   let's be honest you know what I'm just [TS]

00:27:57   think about the scenes like that with a [TS]

00:27:58   wonderful scene when he's in the diner [TS]

00:28:02   and he's kinda got his head turned with [TS]

00:28:04   his hand on his cheek and then you see [TS]

00:28:06   his father sitting next to him in [TS]

00:28:07   exactly the same posture [TS]

00:28:09   it's the perak it's very good well and [TS]

00:28:11   also my favorite line from any film [TS]

00:28:13   anywhere which I still quote [TS]

00:28:18   not weekly I think you know the year [TS]

00:28:20   that a lot like I still quote that [TS]

00:28:21   weekly i don't--what weekly let's be [TS]

00:28:23   totally I maybe quarterly no no more [TS]

00:28:26   often the mantle okay i would say every [TS]

00:28:28   ten weeks em every yeah every six to ten [TS]

00:28:32   weeks [TS]

00:28:33   ok i say like not a proposed nothing I [TS]

00:28:38   always slip it into conversation where [TS]

00:28:41   it is meaningful [TS]

00:28:42   I say you are my density coming my [TS]

00:28:48   destiny [TS]

00:28:49   yeah i'll say that when it it when it [TS]

00:28:52   applies and I have never had a single [TS]

00:28:55   person even turn and raise an eyebrow [TS]

00:28:57   recognition [TS]

00:28:58   I feel like I'm just living I feel like [TS]

00:29:00   I'm living in a space station where my [TS]

00:29:02   voices inaudible tears and rain right [TS]

00:29:05   sec okay now you sell 15 [TS]

00:29:08   yeah I think that's how much you really [TS]

00:29:10   want help with this I mean there's all [TS]

00:29:12   kinds of ways you could do this that you [TS]

00:29:14   don't even have to put in your IP tour [TS]

00:29:17   well you know I mean I mean that the sea [TS]

00:29:22   is going to see the simple solution is [TS]

00:29:24   to like have the login so you don't want [TS]

00:29:27   to login and you just want the TV that [TS]

00:29:28   you don't have to be able to show you [TS]

00:29:30   the movie that doesn't exist when you [TS]

00:29:31   feel like watching bleep blop bloop [TS]

00:29:34   yeah they're saying service i signed up [TS]

00:29:36   for a while back that I can't even [TS]

00:29:37   believe exists because you didn't sign [TS]

00:29:39   up though [TS]

00:29:40   oh no I'm just getting back because it's [TS]

00:29:42   quite a larf you got a vid angel the ID [TS]

00:29:45   angel calm and so I don't remember [TS]

00:29:47   hearing about this maybe 15 years ago [TS]

00:29:50   you hear about these services that were [TS]

00:29:52   like hey listen if you're like a person [TS]

00:29:54   of faith or you don't like cursing you [TS]

00:29:56   don't like so you want to watch this [TS]

00:29:57   movie but take out the sex you know [TS]

00:29:59   there's a big problem a lot of PG movies [TS]

00:30:00   and eighties is their boobs in it when [TS]

00:30:02   they don't really need to be boobs if [TS]

00:30:03   you want to watch this movie without [TS]

00:30:05   unnecessary boobs like what why and I [TS]

00:30:07   think I think boobs are are spelled bewb [TS]

00:30:11   s so they stay in touch but lacks let's [TS]

00:30:14   see here here's a good example like what [TS]

00:30:15   if you wanted to watch back to the [TS]

00:30:17   future without the ghost blowjob or like [TS]

00:30:20   what if you wanted to wash the x-men [TS]

00:30:22   movies with everything but the word fuck [TS]

00:30:24   in it so why aren't people offended by [TS]

00:30:26   the ghost blowjob [TS]

00:30:28   the way I mean compared to like so many [TS]

00:30:30   other girls it really really really it [TS]

00:30:33   sticks out for so many reasons it sticks [TS]

00:30:35   because it's really unnecessarily [TS]

00:30:37   graphic plus it's not funny plus 0 for [TS]

00:30:41   the story the story I heard was that [TS]

00:30:42   it's a basically there are several [TS]

00:30:44   drafts of that script and Aykroyd kept [TS]

00:30:46   tidy and even though it didn't admit it [TS]

00:30:47   meant something more significant in a [TS]

00:30:49   previous draft and they kept it because [TS]

00:30:51   they thought it was a larf what this is [TS]

00:30:53   and this is the thing about it this is [TS]

00:30:54   why I feel like it it's meaningful is [TS]

00:30:57   that it has Aykroyd stamped all over it [TS]

00:31:01   because Aykroyd is the dragon that film [TS]

00:31:04   because Ackroyd was the DAC roid went [TS]

00:31:07   through a Chevy Chase right Chevy Chase [TS]

00:31:10   went through a cocaine aperture and [TS]

00:31:14   there was barely came out the other side [TS]

00:31:17   well that's right there was there was [TS]

00:31:19   funny handsome chevy chase on one side [TS]

00:31:21   of the cocaine aperture and there was um [TS]

00:31:23   unbearable tedious chevy chase that came [TS]

00:31:28   out the other side [TS]

00:31:28   yeah the cocaine aperture and that's the [TS]

00:31:31   chase that we live with to this day 10 [TS]

00:31:34   was their post like post Fletch Fletch [TS]

00:31:37   Fletch as I don't know the exact [TS]

00:31:38   chronology but Fletcher I think flesh [TS]

00:31:40   still stands up as one of the great [TS]

00:31:41   weird eighties movies but strange [TS]

00:31:43   strangely right writing Fletch is I [TS]

00:31:46   think he was on the other side of the [TS]

00:31:48   aperture and he was just connecting with [TS]

00:31:51   something inside I think he'd already [TS]

00:31:52   gone through the aperture at that point [TS]

00:31:54   but there was a residual chevy chase [TS]

00:31:56   that we enjoyed the smugness that we [TS]

00:31:58   liked that black hadn't had taken over [TS]

00:32:01   in a way that would later [TS]

00:32:03   yeah the cancer was in his body but it [TS]

00:32:04   hadn't completely turned him into [TS]

00:32:06   whatever you know sort of like like a [TS]

00:32:09   mask of comedy has metastasized right [TS]

00:32:13   there now dan Aykroyd was mm this is [TS]

00:32:17   gonna be hard to say he got so he worked [TS]

00:32:20   very hard but he don't have gotten some [TS]

00:32:22   incredibly look not only lucky breaks [TS]

00:32:23   but stuff turned out really well for him [TS]

00:32:25   in rapid succession the enemy was the [TS]

00:32:28   Blues never became a thing is kind of [TS]

00:32:30   incredible it's amazing and he's amazing [TS]

00:32:32   in the blues brothers because he has to [TS]

00:32:35   do it because he's nothing he's just [TS]

00:32:39   I so good in that she's amazing in that [TS]

00:32:40   it's the it's the peak of his career but [TS]

00:32:43   dan Aykroyd even on Saturday Night Live [TS]

00:32:44   woozy when he came on-screen you're like [TS]

00:32:47   I hope this one doesn't feature Aykroyd [TS]

00:32:49   and because you're waiting for the [TS]

00:32:53   Great's right you mean you've got on [TS]

00:32:55   this cast you've got you've got the the [TS]

00:32:57   great Gilda Radner [TS]

00:32:58   yeah you're waiting around for dan [TS]

00:33:00   Aykroyd yeah yeah i mean even when [TS]

00:33:03   Elliott Gould guested who he was you [TS]

00:33:05   what you wanted him on the program but [TS]

00:33:08   so Aykroyd is working on this movie and [TS]

00:33:11   and he realizes like he's the dud here [TS]

00:33:14   and so he gives himself a ghost blowjob [TS]

00:33:18   scene so he can mug he can mug for the [TS]

00:33:23   camera some little zizou not it did they [TS]

00:33:26   do not pull it off it is not funny it's [TS]

00:33:28   not anything it's just gross [TS]

00:33:31   yeah but ok so let me just say about [TS]

00:33:33   that angel because this is pretty [TS]

00:33:35   amazing let me find a good example here [TS]

00:33:36   so you go and you log I still have an [TS]

00:33:38   account here [TS]

00:33:39   yeah let them take the second thing [TS]

00:33:41   about this that's crazy [TS]

00:33:42   the second thing about this it that is [TS]

00:33:43   crazy is that you go in and you rent an [TS]

00:33:46   online release of a movie i'm not saying [TS]

00:33:48   you should do this is what you notice [TS]

00:33:49   exist because I can't believe this is [TS]

00:33:50   legal [TS]

00:33:51   you go in and rent an online release and [TS]

00:33:53   i've only done this a couple times but [TS]

00:33:54   it's basically you rent you basically [TS]

00:33:56   you by the movie and then when you're [TS]

00:33:59   done watching it you quote unquote [TS]

00:34:00   return it and not two dollars [TS]

00:34:03   ok that's the second part that I cannot [TS]

00:34:06   believe they're getting away with the [TS]

00:34:08   first part let me go find a classic hear [TS]

00:34:10   the first part that's that's bananas is [TS]

00:34:13   that you can go in and using their [TS]

00:34:15   criteria you can choose what kind of [TS]

00:34:18   stuff you don't want to see in the movie [TS]

00:34:21   so i'll click on the revenant [TS]

00:34:23   I don't know if you've heard but the [TS]

00:34:24   revenant was very very hard to make they [TS]

00:34:27   were in the snow a lot and leonardo [TS]

00:34:29   dicaprio had to get it killed it killed [TS]

00:34:31   by a sword you're doing and you could [TS]

00:34:33   take out things that are objectionable [TS]

00:34:35   and disturbing there are seven [TS]

00:34:36   incentives that 81 profanity is 35 [TS]

00:34:39   blasphemies so let's go and look here [TS]

00:34:41   from profanity got 22 shit six pitches [TS]

00:34:44   21 dams for asses five hells 22 fox and [TS]

00:34:47   one bastard [TS]

00:34:48   but where's the blasphemies doesn't [TS]

00:34:50   doesn't say directly on the blasphemies [TS]

00:34:53   last night let me look here let's run [TS]

00:34:54   through the black boxes you got 28 gods [TS]

00:34:56   and seven Jesus's can use them as like [TS]

00:35:00   expletive or explanation right let's see [TS]

00:35:03   an incidence of crudity he's got piss [TS]

00:35:05   once this is all just under the language [TS]

00:35:07   section and let me ask you this yeah i [TS]

00:35:10   mean you're Christian yeah well laughs [TS]

00:35:12   it if if you're watching a movie with [TS]

00:35:15   your family and you don't want to hear [TS]

00:35:17   the word God or Jesus taken in vain but [TS]

00:35:20   you don't mind watching a bear attack [TS]

00:35:23   yeah or like any other number of I [TS]

00:35:27   didn't I don't but I didn't see the film [TS]

00:35:29   because i don't have a TV but if ideas [TS]

00:35:31   ok there would probably be other are [TS]

00:35:34   there other bad things so yeah the one [TS]

00:35:35   guy kills the other guy's kid I don't [TS]

00:35:38   remember this all from the trailer over [TS]

00:35:40   the guy rides a horse off a cliff [TS]

00:35:43   I read the story about the actual events [TS]

00:35:48   which the movie kind of doesn't bother [TS]

00:35:50   to you too but it takes a boat down the [TS]

00:35:53   river at some point but you want you you [TS]

00:35:56   want to watch the whole thing you just [TS]

00:35:58   don't want any buddy to say God [TS]

00:36:01   well I mean if I'm thinking of like [TS]

00:36:03   stuff with my kid where I would just [TS]

00:36:04   assume they're not be a huge amount of [TS]

00:36:07   cursing that's especially not necessary [TS]

00:36:09   or funny and i would prefer that they're [TS]

00:36:12   not be a lot of sexy stuff right [TS]

00:36:16   ok so I mean like for example i'm just [TS]

00:36:18   saying like if you're mostly a God [TS]

00:36:19   person still would like to see some [TS]

00:36:20   Native Americans get killed [TS]

00:36:21   that's okay not a problem you get into [TS]

00:36:23   the violence / blood / core section [TS]

00:36:25   there are general areas for non graphic [TS]

00:36:27   graphic and disturbing images now you [TS]

00:36:30   get granular may read you some of these [TS]

00:36:31   oh it's here spoiler alerts for the [TS]

00:36:33   revenant there are 73 incidents of [TS]

00:36:36   violence blood and gore that are [TS]

00:36:37   considered graphic and you get to pick [TS]

00:36:39   what whether you want these in the movie [TS]

00:36:41   so you could keep just places where [TS]

00:36:44   native americans were killed gratuitous [TS]

00:36:46   Lee but nowhere where somebody cuts [TS]

00:36:48   themselves well you gotta get real [TS]

00:36:49   granular if you you might want to keep a [TS]

00:36:51   man shoots an animal you might want to [TS]

00:36:53   keep a man shot in the chest with a [TS]

00:36:54   narrow you might want to keep a man [TS]

00:36:56   covered in blood is visible maybe you [TS]

00:36:58   don't want to see a man shot in the back [TS]

00:36:59   with an arrow and a man shoots another [TS]

00:37:01   man [TS]

00:37:01   the back to people are cutting a dead [TS]

00:37:02   animal carcass haha 273 incidents of [TS]

00:37:05   that in there and in this does this on [TS]

00:37:07   the fly [TS]

00:37:08   it's all electronic and then when you [TS]

00:37:09   watch the movie it just skips over all [TS]

00:37:11   of those things and have you ever done [TS]

00:37:14   this in such a way that you felt like I [TS]

00:37:16   didn't miss the scenes or do you always [TS]

00:37:17   go that was a weird cut really [TS]

00:37:19   experimented with it a little bit [TS]

00:37:21   because there was a time that my starter [TS]

00:37:24   since cooled on this franchise in movie [TS]

00:37:26   but there was a time when my daughter [TS]

00:37:27   was very young kids interested in the [TS]

00:37:28   phenomena of a franchise like mom she [TS]

00:37:31   was very interested in The Hunger Games [TS]

00:37:32   and we'd read a little bit of books and [TS]

00:37:34   movies the movies as listeners previous [TS]

00:37:37   times have heard me say it's got too [TS]

00:37:39   much personal violence i think a [TS]

00:37:41   teenager stabbing another teenager [TS]

00:37:42   close-up is not right for the seven or [TS]

00:37:44   eight year old kid [TS]

00:37:45   no that's pretty bad yeah yeah so I mean [TS]

00:37:46   I've experimented with this on my own [TS]

00:37:48   just to see what would happen [TS]

00:37:50   let me see if you can do I think you can [TS]

00:37:51   do with the big lebowski you know my [TS]

00:37:53   daughter her the things she's really [TS]

00:37:55   into right now be a the franchise you [TS]

00:37:58   say is it was my my early eighties [TS]

00:38:01   Garfield books [TS]

00:38:03   oh I tried to get my kid into those I'm [TS]

00:38:05   so glad she's enjoying that Garfield [TS]

00:38:07   bigger-than-life is third book club come [TS]

00:38:09   on the front it says I'm fat and I'm [TS]

00:38:11   lazy and I'm proud of it [TS]

00:38:13   yeah she just loves this stuff like my [TS]

00:38:16   daughter is very into the culture of [TS]

00:38:17   lazy hope you know when she's done she's [TS]

00:38:22   ready sent her up to her sensei looking [TS]

00:38:24   at i forgot to look at this before i did [TS]

00:38:26   read this and watch it the big lebowski [TS]

00:38:28   you've got 336 profanity 'he's 20 [TS]

00:38:33   blasphemies 26 so here's what's funny [TS]

00:38:36   donating a screenshot of this you see a [TS]

00:38:39   graphical representation like the [TS]

00:38:41   editing in like if you're in like you [TS]

00:38:44   know logic or whatever you use you see [TS]

00:38:46   cuts and here's everything you'll hear [TS]

00:38:48   and everything you'll see [TS]

00:38:50   so for example it's just if it's just an [TS]

00:38:51   audio curse it just cuts out the audio [TS]

00:38:53   for that part and other things that will [TS]

00:38:55   cut out a whole section and you get this [TS]

00:38:56   like crazy looking sliced up graph of [TS]

00:38:58   like what you'll actually see in the [TS]

00:39:00   movie in which here so can you watch [TS]

00:39:02   just a supercut of all the stuff they've [TS]

00:39:04   taken out haha that's a really good i [TS]

00:39:07   just just like a man's finger getting [TS]

00:39:09   cut off and somebody pissing on a carpet [TS]

00:39:11   right is that oh yeah yeah yeah no [TS]

00:39:13   absolutely or like you [TS]

00:39:14   you want to watch something about like [TS]

00:39:15   at you want to Cinemax movie we have to [TS]

00:39:18   have a softball game to save the [TS]

00:39:19   orphanage you just want to see the [TS]

00:39:21   boobies just the boobs [TS]

00:39:23   this is like just the movements or like [TS]

00:39:26   any one of those eighties emmanuelle [TS]

00:39:28   movies here on yes there's like like a [TS]

00:39:32   half an hour of them uh like wandering [TS]

00:39:35   through a forest or in a in like a [TS]

00:39:37   French Provincial home and then uh then [TS]

00:39:41   there's like mm 45 seconds of soft core [TS]

00:39:45   sex yeah you get this such as a [TS]

00:39:47   relatively small amount of sylvia [TS]

00:39:48   kristel boots like really [TS]

00:39:50   pound-for-pound given what you have to [TS]

00:39:51   watch all the all the filler around it [TS]

00:39:53   yeah a minute literally cuts to a scene [TS]

00:39:55   of a locomotive going into you go [TS]

00:39:59   why did I wait 45 minutes for that he [TS]

00:40:02   can't even enough times not even enough [TS]

00:42:51   don't know what to tell you because you [TS]

00:42:52   know you're gonna need an IP or login [TS]

00:42:54   for a lot of things but you don't want a [TS]

00:42:56   blu-ray player and TV to plan on can I [TS]

00:42:58   can i login with facebook that's bad [TS]

00:43:02   yeah that's not a bad idea i think i [TS]

00:43:04   think your easiest solution is to do [TS]

00:43:06   what I do and then buy or rent these [TS]

00:43:07   things from the itunes store [TS]

00:43:09   well but they have them they have on [TS]

00:43:12   things when i go to have all the things [TS]

00:43:14   when i go to jonathan coulton house and [TS]

00:43:18   I and I and I and I and I often do they [TS]

00:43:21   used to have a very great guest room [TS]

00:43:23   with a nice nice beautiful mattress that [TS]

00:43:26   they would let me stay in for long [TS]

00:43:28   periods of time and then one day the [TS]

00:43:30   move the mattress was gone the bed was [TS]

00:43:32   gone because they read colonized that [TS]

00:43:34   space for one of them to have an office [TS]

00:43:36   or something did and they replaced the [TS]

00:43:39   mattress the good place with some ikea [TS]

00:43:43   of foam sectional couch make a nuclear [TS]

00:43:46   nicer than that that's sickening [TS]

00:43:48   yes you couldn't sleep on this thing if [TS]

00:43:51   you'd been living on the streets for a [TS]

00:43:52   year and a half he would have made your [TS]

00:43:54   point shot [TS]

00:43:55   well ok so that's what i was thinking [TS]

00:43:57   maybe this was some kind of subtle thing [TS]

00:43:59   can't just live here buddy [TS]

00:44:02   but in any case they have or they they [TS]

00:44:05   used to have big TVs all around i think [TS]

00:44:07   they actually home some TVs to where [TS]

00:44:09   they move them to other rooms other [TS]

00:44:11   parts of the house that on the private [TS]

00:44:12   premises but they live a technological [TS]

00:44:16   life you know Jonathan Coulton was the [TS]

00:44:17   one that said my kids won't even one day [TS]

00:44:20   there won't even be books right right [TS]

00:44:22   let's take and in if memory serves this [TS]

00:44:24   was the Hodgman vs I don't have never [TS]

00:44:26   revealed the names here the Hodgman vs [TS]

00:44:28   Colton dilemma was at a time [TS]

00:44:31   the Hoffman family was much more like uh [TS]

00:44:32   huh and Colton's like play with anything [TS]

00:44:35   anytime [TS]

00:44:36   that's right and I don't know what [TS]

00:44:37   you're doing if you want to Minecraft [TS]

00:44:39   something go nuts when they were little [TS]

00:44:40   kids there Jonathan was like here's an [TS]

00:44:42   ipad figure it out because that's the [TS]

00:44:45   future and your future kid and the [TS]

00:44:47   Hoffmans were like here's a dusty old [TS]

00:44:49   tome with a lock on lock and key on it [TS]

00:44:53   if you can pick the lock you can read [TS]

00:44:55   the book on sorcery is a hidden room [TS]

00:44:57   with a dictionary and [TS]

00:44:59   yeah and i was at the time I was a [TS]

00:45:01   person that had a very small child and I [TS]

00:45:03   was you know seeing these two friends [TS]

00:45:05   trying to figure out how they were there [TS]

00:45:08   different styles of raising a kid and I [TS]

00:45:09   was like which one am I gonna do I don't [TS]

00:45:11   even have a TV button right there they [TS]

00:45:17   have all the accounts so if you want to [TS]

00:45:20   go in and watch a movie just go in you [TS]

00:45:22   use the weird clicker that go you scroll [TS]

00:45:25   down and over to click the letter R and [TS]

00:45:29   then you scroll back and click the [TS]

00:45:31   letter e you go Bob Bob Bob all the way [TS]

00:45:34   down and over to get to the v brutal and [TS]

00:45:38   you're like and then it comes up like [TS]

00:45:39   revolution number 9 revolutionaries and [TS]

00:45:43   you're like I'm trying to rob the [TS]

00:45:44   revenue here [TS]

00:45:45   yeah but eventually they do and they [TS]

00:45:47   don't sweat it right like however much [TS]

00:45:50   this thing costs whatever it's just part [TS]

00:45:53   of the best part of the budget it's part [TS]

00:45:54   of the House Budget you just go bloop [TS]

00:45:57   like I want to watch the revenant right [TS]

00:45:58   now it costs 799 or 1499 or 4499 and you [TS]

00:46:03   just go bloop [TS]

00:46:05   it's just part of the budget yeah and so [TS]

00:46:07   they eliminate that whole business of [TS]

00:46:09   like oh god do I ran it or buy it is HD [TS]

00:46:12   r or hv or hvac yeah um if you want to [TS]

00:46:17   get the hvac version homes and it's like [TS]

00:46:21   always a can't get the temperature right [TS]

00:46:23   gotta drain it [TS]

00:46:24   my point is that they have that's a [TS]

00:46:26   thought technology where they're just [TS]

00:46:28   like whatever we you know this is this [TS]

00:46:30   device is here to provide us with this [TS]

00:46:32   style of entertainment if we want to [TS]

00:46:34   watch the longest day at ten o'clock in [TS]

00:46:36   the morning which I have done at their [TS]

00:46:37   house that was the other thought [TS]

00:46:39   technology at the cold mouse they are [TS]

00:46:42   not above watching a breakfast movie [TS]

00:46:44   haha man right [TS]

00:46:47   oh so you send the kids off to school [TS]

00:46:49   the adults are sitting around having a [TS]

00:46:51   copy [TS]

00:46:52   nobody works in that house that is [TS]

00:46:54   certainly in the entertainment industry [TS]

00:46:55   which is how to work so we're sitting [TS]

00:46:58   around having coffee what you guys want [TS]

00:46:59   to do somebody says have you her seem [TS]

00:47:02   have you ever really seen the longest [TS]

00:47:04   day and i am like you have really seen [TS]

00:47:07   it is really seen it [TS]

00:47:09   x and they're like let's watch lost day [TS]

00:47:11   alright let's watch the longest day and [TS]

00:47:13   then all of a sudden it's like ten in [TS]

00:47:15   the morning in here and you're free [TS]

00:47:16   you're free from all of the problems [TS]

00:47:19   it's like being a day drunk again like [TS]

00:47:21   we can't have a drink it's ten o'clock [TS]

00:47:23   in the morning [TS]

00:47:24   who says you can't have a drink at ten [TS]

00:47:25   o'clock in the morning or grown-ups we [TS]

00:47:28   can we can start drinking drinking soon [TS]

00:47:31   as we wake up this is like being on the [TS]

00:47:32   Pinocchio island i'm just-just looks to [TS]

00:47:36   go to play billiards all day [TS]

00:47:38   yeah yeah and then you don't even have [TS]

00:47:40   to wear pants because you have a wooden [TS]

00:47:41   bottom boom but on the budget that's [TS]

00:47:46   baked into the price we just bleep buy [TS]

00:47:48   movies and we watch them [TS]

00:47:50   that's right and the problem around here [TS]

00:47:51   is I'm starting to feel that the fact [TS]

00:47:55   that i don't have a television [TS]

00:47:58   not only that I don't have any [TS]

00:48:02   television but that I don't have a [TS]

00:48:04   television the size of a Fender Rhodes [TS]

00:48:06   piano that i am starting to live a life [TS]

00:48:11   of unnecessary deprivation because i [TS]

00:48:15   want to add a moment's notice show my [TS]

00:48:19   daughter the Lady and the Tramp or a [TS]

00:48:22   watch [TS]

00:48:24   I don't know the Olympics or something [TS]

00:48:26   lilo and stitch lilo and stitch that's [TS]

00:48:29   what movie that your daughter is old [TS]

00:48:30   enough for it's an utter delight and [TS]

00:48:32   it's fun for everybody [TS]

00:48:33   she's been to Hawaii she knows all about [TS]

00:48:35   it malo malo but i think i think that [TS]

00:48:39   that's a good thing you're getting the [TS]

00:48:40   TV to watch that on TV [TS]

00:48:42   ok but so that's the thing now you know [TS]

00:48:44   the heels start [TS]

00:48:46   boy you got a TV but now I gotta get the [TS]

00:48:48   I gotta get the hookup don't you get to [TS]

00:48:51   be my cable make sure it's the right [TS]

00:48:52   hdmi cable gotta get one of those apple [TS]

00:48:54   tvs and figure out how come it doesn't [TS]

00:48:56   work as well as it ought to [TS]

00:48:57   I've got to get why don't know what [TS]

00:48:59   cable or double cable or quadruple [TS]

00:49:02   cables are like a some kind of did [TS]

00:49:05   Johnny dish network [TS]

00:49:07   I gotta get a use bot get us by our you [TS]

00:49:10   get a seedbox I gotta get a netflix or a [TS]

00:49:14   or one of these a net other nets and [TS]

00:49:19   don't want them i don't want all those [TS]

00:49:21   yields because then the that's not just [TS]

00:49:23   the bills start coming i could put that [TS]

00:49:24   into the house budget [TS]

00:49:26   ok but it's the heels upon niels bohr [TS]

00:49:28   niels and now am I you know just the key [TS]

00:49:30   it's like the cables just start coming [TS]

00:49:33   up out of the floor [TS]

00:49:34   yeah the cables wrap around my ankles [TS]

00:49:36   and they're like oh you have USB 3 [TS]

00:49:39   because life has beat you [TS]

00:49:42   it's a frustrating Japanese body horror [TS]

00:49:44   movie at that point you just have a [TS]

00:49:45   different things they want to get into [TS]

00:49:47   your I get in your ports late late at [TS]

00:49:50   night one time in about 1974 much much [TS]

00:49:52   much too early i watched you remember [TS]

00:49:56   when they used to show horror movies on [TS]

00:49:58   late-night TV sure do and there was so I [TS]

00:50:01   got to stay up late with some babysitter [TS]

00:50:03   that didn't care [TS]

00:50:04   some babysitter was smoking pot and then [TS]

00:50:06   invited her boyfriend in through the [TS]

00:50:07   window as soon as my mom was gone and [TS]

00:50:09   she do and they were like let's watch a [TS]

00:50:11   movie and them and it's on black and [TS]

00:50:13   white TV and i'm watching this movie [TS]

00:50:14   from the nineteen fifties where some [TS]

00:50:17   kind of creeping plant like a like a [TS]

00:50:21   houseplant a creeping plant just keeps [TS]

00:50:24   growing and growing and that and like [TS]

00:50:27   sort of pre little shop of horrors it it [TS]

00:50:31   doesn't it's that doesn't have a big [TS]

00:50:33   mouth and it doesn't sing but like the [TS]

00:50:35   vines just sort of grab you and pull you [TS]

00:50:37   into the house plant and oh god it was [TS]

00:50:41   like God but it's too late because the [TS]

00:50:43   vines are all over them [TS]

00:50:45   I thought that way about the blob well [TS]

00:50:47   he doesn't look it was a little bit of a [TS]

00:50:48   bit was a little bit of a blob ripoff [TS]

00:50:51   yeah but it was but it was like the way [TS]

00:50:53   the blog material looked was very very [TS]

00:50:55   disturbing to me [TS]

00:50:57   well yeah yeah that was disturbing to me [TS]

00:51:00   to their remember the horror movie where [TS]

00:51:02   you can see the beating heart of the [TS]

00:51:05   monster through the translucent skin [TS]

00:51:06   even in the dark I saw that as a kid [TS]

00:51:12   with some negligent babysitter to and [TS]

00:51:14   these things traumatize me until today [TS]

00:51:16   those late-night movies in the nineteen [TS]

00:51:19   fifties those people were sickos yeah [TS]

00:51:21   yeah i mean they were late night movies [TS]

00:51:23   in the seventies they were theatrical [TS]

00:51:25   releases in the fifties you know I don't [TS]

00:51:27   want to show my kids I want to show low [TS]

00:51:29   and stitch and Lady and the Tramp but [TS]

00:51:31   she'll snails [TS]

00:51:32   well if I surrender 21 he'll do I not [TS]

00:51:37   surrender to all fields [TS]

00:51:39   no come on no LOL on the the the easy [TS]

00:51:44   solution for you right now this is not [TS]

00:51:46   funny but John Serkis is gonna fucking [TS]

00:51:47   yell at me if I don't actually help you [TS]

00:51:49   a little bit the easy solution for you [TS]

00:51:51   to try for fun is tuan go by the [TS]

00:51:56   Godfather movie from itunes on on the [TS]

00:51:59   story than watching on your computer now [TS]

00:52:01   what you bought it you can watch it on [TS]

00:52:02   any of your other devices you can watch [TS]

00:52:03   on an iPad you can watch it on a TV once [TS]

00:52:06   you get an apple an apple tv's not that [TS]

00:52:08   hard to set up it's actually not that [TS]

00:52:09   bad it's not too costly kids are our [TS]

00:52:11   primary device in our house is an [TS]

00:52:13   appletv do i own that movie forever [TS]

00:52:17   well you license it forever right that's [TS]

00:52:21   your thing have tricks but here's the [TS]

00:52:23   thing [TS]

00:52:24   astrix from stitch that was my favorite [TS]

00:52:26   Belgian company that's terrific that [TS]

00:52:28   moment to get the point here with that [TS]

00:52:30   dog snowy someone thinking I'm know [TS]

00:52:32   you're thinking of the trolls remember [TS]

00:52:34   the little may control the pick up here [TS]

00:52:36   and i always found them strangely sexual [TS]

00:52:39   in a way that made me uncomfortable when [TS]

00:52:42   i was in people's houses where they had [TS]

00:52:43   troll it's a cultural problem because i [TS]

00:52:45   don't think we realize you somewhere [TS]

00:52:47   like an Icelander finland natural means [TS]

00:52:49   something [TS]

00:52:49   yeah right it means like somebody that [TS]

00:52:51   comes in the in your house at night and [TS]

00:52:53   have sex with you sexy things a sexy [TS]

00:52:55   chick yeah that's that's no good [TS]

00:52:56   you don't want that yes interacting with [TS]

00:52:58   the woofers and tweeters making the [TS]

00:52:59   toilet he called you you you found out [TS]

00:53:02   you found trolling your dad's house [TS]

00:53:03   that's right I did find a troll and I [TS]

00:53:06   and I you know when nobody was around i [TS]

00:53:08   rubbed its little bottom [TS]

00:53:09   yeah with my thumb and I was like I [TS]

00:53:11   don't know you're not i mean i don't [TS]

00:53:13   you're not pretty but you do have a [TS]

00:53:15   naked bottom [TS]

00:53:16   tidy and not Robert rolls bottom think I [TS]

00:53:18   mean I've said to my daughter in a [TS]

00:53:20   graphical way that I was very attracted [TS]

00:53:22   to things like not attracted well [TS]

00:53:24   attracted to make you got head [TS]

00:53:25   characters or like anything shiny and [TS]

00:53:28   plastic I thought that was a very [TS]

00:53:29   attractive thing and a troll you're [TS]

00:53:31   gonna explore the troll your I mean come [TS]

00:53:33   on your kid [TS]

00:53:34   well yeah I'm thing was like even ten [TS]

00:53:36   comics had they seemed adult enough that [TS]

00:53:40   they could be they could be sexy except [TS]

00:53:44   there were never any women [TS]

00:53:45   in ten comics or bear see ya but like [TS]

00:53:48   this is how you figure stuff out this is [TS]

00:53:50   you get your site you get your sexual [TS]

00:53:51   cosmology ruined interesting ways in [TS]

00:53:53   America that's the UK could be a [TS]

00:53:55   Gilligan's Island it could be a Batman [TS]

00:53:57   but there's gonna be ways that you [TS]

00:53:58   become messed up in ways that will not [TS]

00:54:00   become totally clear for 20 years and [TS]

00:54:02   that could be a troll but as far as I'm [TS]

00:54:04   concerned that role but yeah I mean that [TS]

00:54:08   there were certainly beings [TS]

00:54:12   I mean that I can't say I can't say for [TS]

00:54:16   sure that if I were given the chance I [TS]

00:54:23   wouldn't still prefer reading trots and [TS]

00:54:28   Bonnie cartoons to actually seeing real [TS]

00:54:31   life [TS]

00:54:32   porno mhm trots and Bonnie had enough of [TS]

00:54:37   a effect on you know like they were just [TS]

00:54:40   sort of sexy enough that that was just [TS]

00:54:43   enough for me it was enough for me and I [TS]

00:54:45   would probably still be enough for me [TS]

00:54:47   because I don't like to see too much you [TS]

00:54:49   know what I mean like Elliott and the [TS]

00:54:51   industry is really evolved over the [TS]

00:54:52   years [TS]

00:54:53   mmm mmm if you're one of you if you're [TS]

00:54:56   wearing a little thing yeah that's fine [TS]

00:54:58   but I with me that's as far as I need to [TS]

00:55:00   get a little thing like your favorite [TS]

00:55:01   part [TS]

00:55:02   you're just wearing a little thing yeah [TS]

00:55:04   you may be going to you don't need to go [TS]

00:55:06   any further than that you let your [TS]

00:55:07   imagination wander you don't know it's [TS]

00:55:09   not going this into a doctor visit let's [TS]

00:55:10   make it about the little thing exactly a [TS]

00:55:12   fucking doctor visit that's not that's [TS]

00:55:14   not where that's not where i'm at right [TS]

00:55:16   I'm trying to get this isn't the [TS]

00:55:19   beginning of the land of the lost of all [TS]

00:55:21   the criticisms of porn in there are many [TS]

00:55:23   many very fair criticism point the one [TS]

00:55:25   that resonates with me the most is the [TS]

00:55:26   that the feeling of be honest we [TS]

00:55:30   discussed over gynecological porn [TS]

00:55:33   because to me that that is evidence of [TS]

00:55:35   you have watch too much porn when you [TS]

00:55:37   want gynecological level of porn because [TS]

00:55:39   to me that's mostly a taste issue it's [TS]

00:55:42   like you you have developed really bad [TS]

00:55:43   taste because you become a nerd to the [TS]

00:55:46   vajayjay and now you need super intense [TS]

00:55:48   pom-pom in order to really make that [TS]

00:55:50   thing happen [TS]

00:55:51   shame on at eight at a standpoint is now [TS]

00:55:54   you know you know just like CNN they're [TS]

00:55:56   just putting out stuff to people once [TS]

00:55:57   you know [TS]

00:55:58   I feel like super like medical level [TS]

00:56:02   porn is for people that have never had [TS]

00:56:05   sex so whenever it's it's a sort of like [TS]

00:56:07   a preference for you are you going to go [TS]

00:56:08   through sort of the aesthetic direction [TS]

00:56:10   of of a plot of a of a playboy are you [TS]

00:56:13   gonna go to the slightly more graphical [TS]

00:56:16   penthouse or going to go all the way [TS]

00:56:18   down the lane something you found in the [TS]

00:56:20   woods [TS]

00:56:20   you gonna get a screw or a hustler year [TS]

00:56:25   but even like further than that because [TS]

00:56:27   in this contemporary world of [TS]

00:56:29   non-narrative video-based porn winners [TS]

00:56:32   with especially the hvac cameras the way [TS]

00:56:34   you can really get in there yeah yeah [TS]

00:56:36   there's no you got no plot at all except [TS]

00:56:38   maybe the basis level of plot which is [TS]

00:56:41   like which is fixed on a couple yeah [TS]

00:56:44   we're like 'oh my step sister has a like [TS]

00:56:48   a problem with your computer [TS]

00:56:49   yeah and then all of a sudden a you like [TS]

00:56:52   your you're here in love tunnel quite [TS]

00:56:56   feeling that is not how if you ever had [TS]

00:57:00   sex even a single time you you don't see [TS]

00:57:02   any of that because you don't have the [TS]

00:57:04   perspective you can't be over to the [TS]

00:57:06   side and down on your knees now that's a [TS]

00:57:09   really good point yeah right you cannot [TS]

00:57:11   get that view and so why would you [TS]

00:57:16   prefer that why why would that be where [TS]

00:57:18   you want to find on like a sitcom live [TS]

00:57:21   sex is not a three cameras set up right [TS]

00:57:23   now is if anything it's a handheld kind [TS]

00:57:26   of setup [TS]

00:57:27   yeah you don't but even those like those [TS]

00:57:28   POV porns that but so oh and this is the [TS]

00:57:32   other thing [TS]

00:57:33   tumblr is where people watch porn now [TS]

00:57:36   and that down on that [TS]

00:57:38   well I don't know still out there tumblr [TS]

00:57:42   is where and all the porn there's 30 [TS]

00:57:44   seconds long [TS]

00:57:44   yeah this is like good to go and then [TS]

00:57:47   loop took it to get but when i would get [TS]

00:57:50   my hands on Playboy's back in this in [TS]

00:57:52   the early seventies when you find them [TS]

00:57:54   under a board in the forest or whatever [TS]

00:57:55   the little any family cartoons were just [TS]

00:58:00   as erotic to me as the girls and bobby [TS]

00:58:02   socks like laying on a bearskin rug sure [TS]

00:58:05   because the little Amy Fanny stories had [TS]

00:58:08   some narrative little Annie Fanny was [TS]

00:58:11   she was not a very sophisticated lady [TS]

00:58:13   and she was it entering into a lot of [TS]

00:58:16   sophisticated narratives where people in [TS]

00:58:18   casinos and people you know like that [TS]

00:58:21   were living a higher life than she was [TS]

00:58:23   we're trying to entice her into various [TS]

00:58:26   on conjugate allottees yeah third [TS]

00:58:30   locations [TS]

00:58:31   that's right and and she was just like [TS]

00:58:33   whoops-a-daisy but she also had a little [TS]

00:58:35   bit of work she was a little bit choose [TS]

00:58:37   little bit wise because she always [TS]

00:58:39   managed to get out of there more or less [TS]

00:58:41   unscathed but anyway all all back to all [TS]

00:58:46   back saying it's all it's the little [TS]

00:58:49   thing it's the little shift its the [TS]

00:58:51   chemise that's what you're looking for [TS]

00:58:53   you're looking for chemise porn but but [TS]

00:58:57   it makes you don't listen to a lot of [TS]

00:58:58   last-minute bear killings you don't [TS]

00:59:00   blast me you don't want bearkillers you [TS]

00:59:02   don't want to see a man shot in the back [TS]

00:59:04   with a narrow while another man at this [TS]

00:59:06   rate an animal carcass remember is [TS]

00:59:08   amazing you do you do want to [TS]

00:59:12   fast-forward to the chemises you just [TS]

00:59:14   want to get to the chemise but then stay [TS]

00:59:17   within the chemise portion a lot longer [TS]

00:59:19   right and then maybe right at the end [TS]

00:59:22   the chemise comes off of this is one of [TS]

00:59:26   the first great use of the internet [TS]

00:59:27   which you could go out and find other [TS]

00:59:28   people who are preferred in the same way [TS]

00:59:30   that you are and if you want to find [TS]

00:59:32   chemises you would eventually find a [TS]

00:59:34   forum where there was about Josh means [TS]

00:59:35   chat and and people identify like [TS]

00:59:38   timestamps in movies and stuff like that [TS]

00:59:40   the problem with that is that i have [TS]

00:59:42   gone online many many many many times [TS]

00:59:44   yeah and googled zaftig israeli girls [TS]

00:59:49   who are in IDF uniforms who are taking [TS]

00:59:52   off IDF uniforms and you cannot really i [TS]

00:59:57   mean there's a little bit but not nearly [TS]

00:59:59   as much [TS]

00:59:59   as much [TS]

01:00:00   as you would think alright i'll try [TS]

01:00:01   really IDF erotica [TS]

01:00:04   yeah okay Israeli idea averotica but you [TS]

01:00:07   know but you know you don't want to be [TS]

01:00:08   too skinny [TS]

01:00:10   you finding anything oh yeah oh yeah huh [TS]

01:00:14   it looks again in there in a barracks [TS]

01:00:16   and one girl's got her got her head on [TS]

01:00:18   the other girls lap she's looking her [TS]

01:00:19   phone [TS]

01:00:20   ok they're not right optic though I [TS]

01:00:22   think that's the problem is if you've [TS]

01:00:24   got a pivot another pivot yes we go to [TS]

01:00:26   the dark web show the dark web [TS]

01:00:28   I don't know I never been on the dark [TS]

01:00:30   web I don't know much about it uh-huh i [TS]

01:00:33   used to be on the dark web but then I [TS]

01:00:36   saw too many videos of people in fatal [TS]

01:00:40   car accident [TS]

01:00:41   yeah and and I ok so presently let's say [TS]

01:00:46   this I'm not turning up a whole lot for [TS]

01:00:47   troll doll fetish I i figured that would [TS]

01:00:50   be Richard territory in reality is [TS]

01:00:53   bearing out because I could see somebody [TS]

01:00:55   having a you know having that either [TS]

01:00:57   special thing is Robin troll but female [TS]

01:01:01   Israeli soldiers stripping and punished [TS]

01:01:04   no dear that's despite Umi pivots for [TS]

01:01:06   you that seems like something that would [TS]

01:01:08   be big in the Palestinian territory soon [TS]

01:01:10   ma let's see where am i I'm on etsy okay [TS]

01:01:14   how'd you get two are you buying [TS]

01:01:17   something [TS]

01:01:17   no no no I don't buy things buying some [TS]

01:01:20   vintage thing [TS]

01:01:21   speaking of buying things have you ever [TS]

01:01:22   owned a pair of flu Boggs yes so I was [TS]

01:01:27   at a party the other day [TS]

01:01:29   small part because those were real real [TS]

01:01:31   real hot around the time i moved to San [TS]

01:01:33   Francisco they stayed hot for 23 years [TS]

01:01:35   and they seem to virtually go away [TS]

01:01:37   except within i'm going to say the vegan [TS]

01:01:39   shoe community [TS]

01:01:40   well that's what we're pretty dedicated [TS]

01:01:42   to what they have to make a lot of vegan [TS]

01:01:45   shoes i think they make vegan cheese [TS]

01:01:46   yeah but I was that Seattle shoe company [TS]

01:01:50   and during the nineties right everybody [TS]

01:01:53   had them especially girls are you [TS]

01:01:55   worried sort of babydoll dresses [TS]

01:01:58   it's like like seven barrettes in their [TS]

01:02:00   hair [TS]

01:02:01   we're also i know we're also wearing flu [TS]

01:02:04   bugs all the time and and then I kind of [TS]

01:02:07   felt and I didn't have any because they [TS]

01:02:09   are expensive and also i was a little [TS]

01:02:10   bit of an iconoclast sure i was wearing [TS]

01:02:13   Boris Karloff shoes on the series I mean [TS]

01:02:18   I didn't have time for this all this [TS]

01:02:20   frippery it was that my bolts and and so [TS]

01:02:26   anyway but then I felt like okay the [TS]

01:02:28   pressures off now I don't have to own [TS]

01:02:30   flu bugs [TS]

01:02:31   I you know I don't have to own doc [TS]

01:02:32   martens those were a uniform of special [TS]

01:02:35   time and now i can just wear shoes i can [TS]

01:02:38   pictures of my own accord and it's not [TS]

01:02:40   necessary but i was at this art party [TS]

01:02:43   and there were some other middle-aged [TS]

01:02:45   party people there and a guy walked by [TS]

01:02:47   and I was talking to somebody else but i [TS]

01:02:50   noticed the guy go by and I point to his [TS]

01:02:52   shoes and i go [TS]

01:02:53   are those to do [TS]

01:02:57   did you color those shoes yourself I [TS]

01:02:58   mean did you make those shoes into those [TS]

01:03:00   shoes where those a different kind of [TS]

01:03:02   shoe and then you made them into the [TS]

01:03:04   shoe or did that shoe come that way and [TS]

01:03:07   he was not he's my age my town my whole [TS]

01:03:12   season he's at my art party and I [TS]

01:03:16   suspect the reason he reacted this way [TS]

01:03:19   is that he knew who I was and he was [TS]

01:03:21   going to give me a little bit of the [TS]

01:03:22   he's gonna give me a little bit of that [TS]

01:03:24   I don't know who you are now yeah [TS]

01:03:26   because he knew i was but he was like I [TS]

01:03:29   didn't make them [TS]

01:03:30   John Fluevog made them prayer for like [TS]

01:03:33   Jay flew it may be said they were made [TS]

01:03:36   by a guy named John Fluevog and then he [TS]

01:03:39   kept walking and I was like wow what a [TS]

01:03:42   you know what a what a punky attitude [TS]

01:03:44   got to get started so that one [TS]

01:03:47   well so yeah that's right and so I [TS]

01:03:48   turned to the guide that i'm talking to [TS]

01:03:50   and I was like wow flu bugs [TS]

01:03:52   that's interesting and the guy who is [TS]

01:03:56   who as a person I admire said I'm One [TS]

01:03:58   Flew box right now and I look down he [TS]

01:04:01   had a good pair of shoes on and I was [TS]

01:04:02   like those are blue box to and all of a [TS]

01:04:04   sudden I felt like I was in some kind of [TS]

01:04:05   weird alternate reality where everybody [TS]

01:04:08   was wearing fluevog this whole time [TS]

01:04:10   uh-huh and discuss what the men's shoes [TS]

01:04:13   are are whimsical but they're not as [TS]

01:04:15   like wonderfully delightfully cartoony [TS]

01:04:18   as the girl shoes [TS]

01:04:19   yeah right they're not there they're [TS]

01:04:20   gorgeous delightful they're hilarious [TS]

01:04:23   these are so fun [TS]

01:04:24   yeah they are fun there were there [TS]

01:04:26   they're fun they're wackadoodle there a [TS]

01:04:27   little bit Witchiepoo [TS]

01:04:29   yeah you don't know being like a little [TS]

01:04:30   bit like if you're wearing a skimpy [TS]

01:04:33   should come with that banks i think a [TS]

01:04:37   lot of them do I think they have bangs [TS]

01:04:38   or barrettes that come the breasts are [TS]

01:04:40   just with the shoe bags and Brett's but [TS]

01:04:43   then all of a sudden I'm feeling like [TS]

01:04:44   what am I outside of some something that [TS]

01:04:47   I need to be inside like a box a flu bug [TS]

01:04:49   is a Seattle owned presumably like [TS]

01:04:53   locally sourced blah blah blah shoe that [TS]

01:04:58   I should the American American I guess [TS]

01:05:01   unless they're all made in mexico but [TS]

01:05:03   American ish then I felt like I should [TS]

01:05:06   get on the flu bug train but then it's a [TS]

01:05:08   little bit like getting a tattoo in your [TS]

01:05:10   forties yeah I never had a tattoo before [TS]

01:05:13   i'm going to go get a tattoo yeah we're [TS]

01:05:15   going to do the attached to a lilo and [TS]

01:05:17   stitch yeah just remembering an animal [TS]

01:05:20   carcass [TS]

01:05:21   yeah Tommy's family malo malo yeah no [TS]

01:05:26   I'm with you I'm with you I idea to toe [TS]

01:05:28   interesting shoes i had a pair of [TS]

01:05:31   fluevog that were probably those boring [TS]

01:05:33   and normal flu dogs a person could buy [TS]

01:05:34   advair campers money but then I kind of [TS]

01:05:38   moved back into the pseudo hiking boot [TS]

01:05:41   look [TS]

01:05:42   oh yeah sudo hiking's yeah I had a pair [TS]

01:05:46   of campers that I found at a thrift [TS]

01:05:48   store and i was very pleased with them [TS]

01:05:50   because when camp when everybody's [TS]

01:05:51   wearing campers I I couldn't afford them [TS]

01:05:53   right didn't think i could afford them [TS]

01:05:55   yeah because they were like a [TS]

01:05:56   hundred-dollar expensive but I bought a [TS]

01:05:59   pair of campers that were that were [TS]

01:06:00   hardly worn at the store and I was [TS]

01:06:03   pretty happy with that was wearing [TS]

01:06:04   around all the time they were Brown not [TS]

01:06:05   black feeling pretty good about it and [TS]

01:06:09   then not very long ago I had Nick harmer [TS]

01:06:12   in the house here and and i had about [TS]

01:06:15   shoes lined up by the fireplace and I [TS]

01:06:17   said nick is just by way of [TS]

01:06:19   where we were on our way to a third [TS]

01:06:21   location but I said Nick before we go [TS]

01:06:23   take a look at the shoes here and if you [TS]

01:06:26   had to get rid of three pairs of the [TS]

01:06:27   issues which which three would you get [TS]

01:06:29   word out so nice because I got all these [TS]

01:06:31   shoes lined up by the fireplace and I [TS]

01:06:32   got too many shoes huh [TS]

01:06:34   which three would you get rid of time he [TS]

01:06:37   said what get rid of those corny old [TS]

01:06:39   campers it's not like you know it's not [TS]

01:06:42   like you're still wearing campers it's [TS]

01:06:46   like we're gonna wear this to the land [TS]

01:06:48   shall be master sunshine and I felt like [TS]

01:06:56   a dummy I felt like a cock word that [TS]

01:07:04   word makes me laugh i thought my son use [TS]

01:07:07   because here i am wearing campers you [TS]

01:07:09   know it's like what I'm going to see [TS]

01:07:10   Lambchop take along take a lot but I [TS]

01:07:17   felt bad because I was I had been i was [TS]

01:07:19   proud of those shoes five minutes before [TS]

01:07:20   I hate that feeling [TS]

01:07:22   yeah especially a middle-school ceiling [TS]

01:07:24   like I love this thing that I made with [TS]

01:07:26   stupid now I hate it [TS]

01:07:28   well but I asked you know I was like [TS]

01:07:30   material that's in general john know [TS]

01:07:33   he's bass player ace player right ok ok [TS]

01:07:36   but just don't houses bad he traffics in [TS]

01:07:40   a world where people are wearing a [TS]

01:07:42   contemporary clothes there was a little [TS]

01:07:45   bit of a time there in the in the mid to [TS]

01:07:48   mid 222 thousands where the really [TS]

01:07:51   fashionable shoes were super long pointy [TS]

01:07:54   like like just terrible looking shoe [TS]

01:07:57   yeah right and and because i was because [TS]

01:08:01   i was in a world of rock people who [TS]

01:08:03   spent money on clothes who were like [TS]

01:08:06   bleeding edge i was all the sudden [TS]

01:08:08   around all these people wearing really [TS]

01:08:10   dumb long pointy shoes and I said this [TS]

01:08:13   is a this is a bridge too far the issues [TS]

01:08:16   will never like when you find these at a [TS]

01:08:18   thrift store five years from now even [TS]

01:08:19   though they cost six hundred dollars [TS]

01:08:20   when they were new [TS]

01:08:22   please have no value issues will have no [TS]

01:08:26   resale fout right it's like a trade-in [TS]

01:08:29   where the trade in his results hmm [TS]

01:08:33   whereas i thought a camper would [TS]

01:08:41   continue to be a classic chic looks like [TS]

01:08:43   a bowling shield huh [TS]

01:08:45   but I guess nobody's wearing bowling [TS]

01:08:46   shoes anymore either remember what you [TS]

01:08:48   would go to the bowling alley and leave [TS]

01:08:49   your shoes [TS]

01:08:50   oh sure take the bowling shoes instead [TS]

01:08:52   because they were better than your shoes [TS]

01:08:54   yeah but i mean that's that's yeah i [TS]

01:08:56   mean that that's cute but they're not [TS]

01:08:58   very comfortable no precedent campers if [TS]

01:09:01   memory serves campus did not have much [TS]

01:09:02   of an arch now I've never understood [TS]

01:09:05   what an arch does or is the notch helps [TS]

01:09:11   your arch right but what's the matter i [TS]

01:09:14   mean i know some people have fallen [TS]

01:09:15   arches [TS]

01:09:16   well I just I was raised to believe that [TS]

01:09:18   that that you would never buy a pair of [TS]

01:09:20   shoes unless it had what was referred to [TS]

01:09:21   as a good arch-cable you wore converse [TS]

01:09:24   very very like no arch you know flat as [TS]

01:09:28   a flat as a a like a frisbee [TS]

01:09:31   yeah I could have said pancake there [TS]

01:09:34   yeah but I spent the extra two seconds [TS]

01:09:36   to come up with frisbee because you want [TS]

01:09:38   to pepper your language with interesting [TS]

01:09:41   current analogies interesting similes [TS]

01:09:45   and that is and so don't sit around [TS]

01:09:47   pancake [TS]

01:09:48   no we didn't hurt laughter that that's [TS]

01:09:50   the outer that's the Roderick difference [TS]

01:09:52   that's the thing plastic frisbee it's [TS]

01:09:53   just as flat as a pancake accepted still [TS]

01:09:55   got a little bit of a curve deadly [TS]

01:09:57   forces are really flat but now I think [TS]

01:09:58   you pull up right I guess you're right [TS]

01:10:00   it's a bad it's it it's a bad way of [TS]

01:10:03   just took a serving dish like a like a [TS]

01:10:06   charger glad as a charger if I the [TS]

01:10:08   charger i feel like the charger also has [TS]

01:10:10   a rounded edge to keep the gravy and [TS]

01:10:12   that's true i think that is a manhole [TS]

01:10:14   cover but yes flats less thickness to [TS]

01:10:17   how about flat as a what-do-you-call-it [TS]

01:10:19   a trivet not trade it wasn't thing we [TS]

01:10:21   put hot food on the table upon a trivet [TS]

01:10:24   was like like a little free the original [TS]

01:10:27   classic series [TS]

01:10:28   yeah every overrated episode that was [TS]

01:10:31   that was a lot of it was very corny i [TS]

01:10:34   preferred the ones where it was serious [TS]

01:10:35   plugged when they go to the depression [TS]

01:10:37   that lets you know because the classic [TS]

01:10:41   suits [TS]

01:10:41   that classic suits i liked anyone where [TS]

01:10:44   her was featured huh [TS]

01:10:48   she just had that will shift you know [TS]

01:10:50   just a little shimmy it's really about [TS]

01:10:52   the little thing a little well for some [TS]

01:10:55   of us [TS]

01:10:55   yeah right other people like anything a [TS]

01:10:57   lot of people don't know a lot of people [TS]

01:10:59   don't admit there's a little thing in [TS]

01:11:00   their life [TS]

01:11:01   it's tough you know it's very difficult [TS]

01:11:04   to talk about even though we're all like [TS]

01:11:07   a surrounded by porn all the time now [TS]

01:11:09   you're soaking in it but no it's still [TS]

01:11:11   nobody wants to talk about it unless [TS]

01:11:13   you're sex-positive person that's not [TS]

01:11:15   good i don't want you around that you [TS]

01:11:17   know I'm something remember that when [TS]

01:11:18   you hear my office I think you might [TS]

01:11:20   have found my Phoenix a little bit no [TS]

01:11:23   that's right your Phoenix tall i think [TS]

01:11:25   you give her a little troll ritual [TS]

01:11:26   robbed on her I behind i give her a [TS]

01:11:28   little troll rub she has very [TS]

01:11:29   exaggerated secondary sex [TS]

01:11:31   characteristics [TS]

01:11:32   well I mean that's just how she's made [TS]

01:11:33   yeah yeah yeah yeah that's you know I'm [TS]

01:11:36   just as God made me sir I got bad news [TS]

01:11:38   for you [TS]

01:11:39   the the restaurant the made in china [TS]

01:11:42   restaurant has changed it's a different [TS]

01:11:43   restaurant now you can never come back [TS]

01:11:47   and have the house Trotter now [TS]

01:11:49   oh they were only there for like a week [TS]

01:11:52   and a half [TS]

01:11:53   yeah and were there for that long but I [TS]

01:11:55   mean you know it kind of a kind of lends [TS]

01:11:57   credence to the idea was originally [TS]

01:11:59   that's like a mofo training ground right [TS]

01:12:01   yeah right where they were just bringing [TS]

01:12:02   people in that were like starting to [TS]

01:12:05   infiltrate the normal America right and [TS]

01:12:07   they said here's a here's a low-impact [TS]

01:12:09   way to pick an interactive people hooked [TS]

01:12:12   up w 3 3 or 4 people are going to come [TS]

01:12:16   in to the restaurant per day and all you [TS]

01:12:19   have to do is bring him i have to do is [TS]

01:12:21   remember what T is T has been open and [TS]

01:12:24   then bring them T yeah and they'll point [TS]

01:12:28   to something on the menu that has a [TS]

01:12:29   number by it is a good thing about [TS]

01:12:31   training John you're going to get stuff [TS]

01:12:32   wrong you have to do it environment of [TS]

01:12:34   trust you know and so they're gonna get [TS]

01:12:36   stuff from they're going to forget what [TS]

01:12:37   to do it to a tee is sometimes some of [TS]

01:12:39   the photos are gonna go to forget you're [TS]

01:12:41   not supposed to literally stare at [TS]

01:12:43   people at the next table for two minutes [TS]

01:12:45   oh yeah right no that's that's not how [TS]

01:12:48   you make American friends I do feel like [TS]

01:12:52   they probably pulled up stakes because [TS]

01:12:54   you know and relocated somewhere else [TS]

01:12:57   sort of in the vicinity you got clocked [TS]

01:12:59   he would they get there they're gonna be [TS]

01:13:02   aware of the fact that people start [TS]

01:13:06   walking by the store looking in the [TS]

01:13:08   window slowing down and then speeding [TS]

01:13:11   back up again [TS]

01:13:12   yeah maybe they saw maybe somebody I [TS]

01:13:14   wouldn't put this path somebody maybe [TS]

01:13:16   somebody put a super train sticker on a [TS]

01:13:18   alright pull out some smartass I think [TS]

01:13:20   the movie probably like daly city or [TS]

01:13:22   something [TS]

01:13:23   yeah right where you know they're still [TS]

01:13:25   Americans down there they're going to be [TS]

01:13:26   interacting with people I don't think we [TS]

01:13:27   have any listeners in daly city probably [TS]

01:13:29   you sure about that was harmless really [TS]

01:13:32   really hard to know this is a call to [TS]

01:13:35   all [TS]

01:13:36   hmm best resignation or whatever the [TS]

01:13:39   fuck he knows where there is a the no no [TS]

01:13:43   I fingernails are pretty I think your [TS]

01:13:46   nails are good seems that all I ever [TS]

01:13:49   wanted was a martyr something my remark [TS]

01:13:52   market that's like jeremiah was a [TS]

01:13:54   bullfrog lyrics that something like [TS]

01:13:56   placeholder lyrics he was never famous [TS]

01:13:58   for his lyrics [TS]

01:13:59   yeah but but you know he did that to [TS]

01:14:01   Everlong song which was David [TS]

01:14:04   Letterman's favorite song oh my god one [TS]

01:14:05   of the great service to germinate [TS]

01:14:07   weapons favorite you to the story uh who [TS]

01:14:11   do was play when his father died close [TS]

01:14:13   Letterman had his heart attack [TS]

01:14:17   I remember I was in a hotel room in in [TS]

01:14:19   florida i believe when this happened [TS]

01:14:21   he had his heart attack and his way for [TS]

01:14:22   a while there I guess he came back and [TS]

01:14:24   the story goes the story goes that is [TS]

01:14:26   one request was when he comes back and [TS]

01:14:29   this is a story but the story was that [TS]

01:14:31   he would love it if food fighters came [TS]

01:14:33   on the show and played his favorite song [TS]

01:14:36   ever long and they were I think they [TS]

01:14:39   were in Brazil and they did it [TS]

01:14:41   ah it's good it's good that number man [TS]

01:14:44   yeah yeah yeah that's good he's good at [TS]

01:14:47   something really case on Taylor Hawkins [TS]

01:14:49   Taylor Hawkins a kind of like ringing a [TS]

01:14:51   bell now was he and was he in Sunny Day [TS]

01:14:53   Real Estate definitely not as well no [TS]

01:14:55   that was the other guy and I heard [TS]

01:14:56   very interesting story about him boom [TS]

01:14:58   save it just recently the only one [TS]

01:15:01   David if you get a TV do you have a [TS]

01:15:07   place to put it [TS]

01:15:08   you just like any wall [TS]

01:15:11   well doesn't have to be a wall but humor [TS]

01:15:14   me for a minute and just as a thought [TS]

01:15:16   experiment if you've got a TV of some [TS]

01:15:18   size is there a place that you could put [TS]

01:15:21   it that it wouldn't like being the way [TS]

01:15:22   for him to move might have to move [TS]

01:15:25   campers and stuff around in order to fit [TS]

01:15:27   a TV into somewhere in your house [TS]

01:15:29   let me think about it here where I put [TS]

01:15:32   it [TS]

01:15:32   mm it's okay to say no no I'm just [TS]

01:15:37   trying to think of like is their first [TS]

01:15:40   of all comfortable place in my house [TS]

01:15:42   that isn't currently full of something [TS]

01:15:47   weird you know what I did last night I [TS]

01:15:49   went on the internet then don't anybody [TS]

01:15:51   else do this okay because this is my [TS]

01:15:54   private world right now okay but I went [TS]

01:15:56   on the internet and i bought a lot of [TS]

01:15:59   old vintage bank deposit bags [TS]

01:16:02   oh the the thick ones with the lock was [TS]

01:16:06   sharp because some of them apparently [TS]

01:16:09   this was a thing [TS]

01:16:11   yeah they were embroidered with the [TS]

01:16:14   names of the bank's like they were like [TS]

01:16:17   a sports jacket embroidery like it like [TS]

01:16:19   a letter the letter jacket that just [TS]

01:16:22   says you know the bank of Allentown [TS]

01:16:24   Pennsylvania Boston Mass 0312 for and I [TS]

01:16:31   said those are gorgeous and then i [TS]

01:16:33   looked at more of them and there are [TS]

01:16:34   some of them you can find that still [TS]

01:16:36   have the keys to the locks and I was [TS]

01:16:38   like I gotta have all these so i got [TS]

01:16:41   them all and now where the hell am I [TS]

01:16:43   gonna put them you put your eyes in [TS]

01:16:44   there I got you that's right and I gotta [TS]

01:16:46   stack them up now somewhere and I'm [TS]

01:16:48   stacking them up kinda where the TV [TS]

01:16:49   would go I see ya sounds better hold off [TS]

01:16:52   lo ok a party shot here just for what [TS]

01:16:54   it's worth [TS]

01:16:55   are you aware of the coppola restoration [TS]

01:16:57   of the Godfather a parting shot is a [TS]

01:17:00   well actually one of my favorite tumblr [TS]

01:17:02   up [TS]

01:17:02   one blogs very expressive bell ring my [TS]

01:17:08   friend very expressive it was discovered [TS]

01:17:10   and this is included on the documentary [TS]

01:17:12   that you get released with the blu-ray [TS]

01:17:14   of this it was discovered that there was [TS]

01:17:15   essentially not a single good usable [TS]

01:17:18   single- of the Godfather in existence [TS]

01:17:21   anymore [TS]

01:17:21   wait a minute yeah so basically there [TS]

01:17:23   that paramount treated like a two-dollar [TS]

01:17:25   or had just like beating the shit out of [TS]

01:17:27   this thing cut out the long dissolves [TS]

01:17:29   between scenes for TV and there's not a [TS]

01:17:32   single good copy of anyone using [TS]

01:17:34   documentary they had to go and when we [TS]

01:17:37   were documentary it's a really good [TS]

01:17:39   documentary that comes with the blu-ray [TS]

01:17:41   of this it's one of like five blu-rays [TS]

01:17:42   that I am but I'm documentary about [TS]

01:17:44   about about the Godfather restoration [TS]

01:17:47   which is amazingly they talk about that [TS]

01:17:48   what's-his-name the the lighting guy [TS]

01:17:50   Gordon Willis juror it's really really [TS]

01:17:53   good you can pilots even find a free on [TS]

01:17:55   YouTube right now anyway long story [TS]

01:17:57   short they are they had to go in and [TS]

01:17:59   cobble together the best possible copies [TS]

01:18:00   of The Godfather they could find it was [TS]

01:18:03   just you not gonna believe the [TS]

01:18:05   before-and-afters they had to go and [TS]

01:18:06   scan every single frame at 4k and hand [TS]

01:18:10   fix every frame of the Godfather without [TS]

01:18:12   removing the noise the beautiful film [TS]

01:18:14   noise in that film and it and they put [TS]

01:18:17   this thing out a few years ago called [TS]

01:18:18   the coppola restoration and its really [TS]

01:18:20   really good [TS]

01:18:21   it's not one of those wackadoodle [TS]

01:18:22   versions where everything's in [TS]

01:18:23   chronological order or anything i'm just [TS]

01:18:25   telling you as he says it right now you [TS]

01:18:27   can go onto the itunes you buy yourself [TS]

01:18:29   a copy of The Godfather colon the couple [TS]

01:18:31   of restoration 1499 American out the [TS]

01:18:33   door now you got that you could watch [TS]

01:18:35   that on your computer box and you're [TS]

01:18:37   talking about that is now that's the [TS]

01:18:39   Godfather one [TS]

01:18:41   yeah well if you buy the blu-ray you get [TS]

01:18:43   all three and i seen two of those women [TS]

01:18:45   you buy the blu-ray but that's a that's [TS]

01:18:49   a disc that's like that's like a frisbee [TS]

01:18:51   explain that on your place like a [TS]

01:18:52   frisbee or ar trivet yeah you have to [TS]

01:18:55   watch that on your Playstation or [TS]

01:18:56   something [TS]

01:18:57   now people do still have blu-ray discs i [TS]

01:19:01   have blu-ray discs i have the Godfather [TS]

01:19:03   three movies i have scott pilgrim vs the [TS]

01:19:05   world i have the fantastic mr fox i have [TS]

01:19:09   the x-men motion comic series i have i [TS]

01:19:12   play let's be honest I it gets kid gets [TS]

01:19:14   confused with the wii and playstation [TS]

01:19:16   things but I've got I've got fewer than [TS]

01:19:18   10 blu-ray properties that i own because [TS]

01:19:21   blu-ray is a blight on society to use [TS]

01:19:23   one less blu-ray so so sorry [TS]

01:19:28   blu-ray produces an image that is really [TS]

01:19:31   really stellar I mean it's yeah so you [TS]

01:19:33   know when they say like 1080p the [TS]

01:19:35   payments progressive which means that [TS]

01:19:36   that is a 1080 pixels high image that [TS]

01:19:39   won't pixel for pixel every single image [TS]

01:19:41   that every frame of that is its own [TS]

01:19:44   painted image it's not interlacing to [TS]

01:19:47   save space and on a big TV it looks [TS]

01:19:50   really really really good using blu-ray [TS]

01:19:52   remember hate using DVD player [TS]

01:19:54   it's like three times worse blu-ray it's [TS]

01:19:56   a total show my DVD player the thing I [TS]

01:19:59   hated most about it was that you had to [TS]

01:20:00   use a screwdriver to get the door open [TS]

01:20:02   was that feature who seems like it's [TS]

01:20:06   like the first time it was a mistake and [TS]

01:20:08   the third time it was a riff just with a [TS]

01:20:09   call they call it the college that's how [TS]

01:20:11   you make that movie jazz is another [TS]

01:20:13   really good tumblr fancy well you know [TS]

01:20:15   picture-in-picture was my favorite 80s [TS]

01:20:17   detective show pics on Tesla huh here [TS]

01:20:20   Watch reboot that's the thing i do all [TS]

01:20:23   the time but when it because my new [TS]

01:20:25   flash player tiny anything's little bit [TS]

01:20:27   misleading little things after i just [TS]

01:20:30   had to redo my flash because it wouldn't [TS]

01:20:33   play any of the advertisements on bring [TS]

01:20:35   a trailer [TS]

01:20:35   I'm sorry how did you get the pop-up I [TS]

01:20:38   got the pop-up so right for a long time [TS]

01:20:40   I was like sorry can't play that I [TS]

01:20:41   because you don't have the news flash [TS]

01:20:42   and I was like fuck you you know i don't [TS]

01:20:44   want the newsflash fuck you I don't want [TS]

01:20:46   to see your thing and then John even a [TS]

01:20:49   free eel ok even a free eel is still an [TS]

01:20:52   eel it's tony why do they have to do why [TS]

01:20:54   don't they just met but they make [TS]

01:20:56   anybody used to just leave it [TS]

01:20:57   yeah Steve Jobs didn't want to use flash [TS]

01:20:59   know he had a letter about it [TS]

01:21:01   yes Steve Jobs had a whole thing is he [TS]

01:21:03   like soil the turtleneck over it and and [TS]

01:21:07   and i agree like the I mean thank you [TS]

01:21:10   very much for the free program [TS]

01:21:11   I appreciate it it's wonderful why don't [TS]
