00:06:12 ◼   ► satisfying and to the series which as we [TS]

00:06:18 ◼   ► of the boldest messages of any action [TS]

00:06:20 ◼   ► adventure trilogy and it conveys that [TS]

00:06:21 ◼   ► message successfully and I'm sure we [TS]

00:06:23 ◼   ► will discuss this as the movie continues [TS]

00:07:12 ◼   ► slanting lines as you read it but it [TS]

00:07:15 ◼   ► does hurt the eyes a little bit but it's [TS]

00:07:16 ◼   ► a way for George Lucas and his and his [TS]

00:07:19 ◼   ► team of people to to basically say yeah [TS]

00:07:23 ◼   ► this stuff happened I we're not gonna [TS]

00:07:26 ◼   ► show it to you it's like suffice to say [TS]

00:07:28 ◼   ► they're building a new Death Star [TS]

00:07:29 ◼   ► I mean is that that's essentially what [TS]

00:07:40 ◼   ► Star Wars credits are fairly iconic but [TS]

00:07:45 ◼   ► focus on for more than five seconds I'm [TS]

00:07:47 ◼   ► like yeah the movie [TS]

00:07:48 ◼   ► ok let's get to the movie yeah we want [TS]

00:07:50 ◼   ► to find out what happened to hunt solo [TS]

00:07:52 ◼   ► saber gnite words words words the [TS]

00:07:54 ◼   ► outrider at where is he [TS]

00:07:55 ◼   ► and then instead of that what we get is [TS]

00:07:57 ◼   ► the death star under construction [TS]

00:07:59 ◼   ► completing get our are third in you know [TS]

00:08:02 ◼   ► every opening sequence begins with a [TS]

00:08:05 ◼   ► star destroyer essentially type and down [TS]

00:08:08 ◼   ► to a planet and the Star Destroyer right [TS]

00:08:11 ◼   ► while pants down and there's a estar and [TS]

00:08:13 ◼   ► then the star destroyer coming over as [TS]

00:08:14 ◼   ► like it doesn't it's just sort of a [TS]

00:08:16 ◼   ► throwback to us the first Star Wars yeah [TS]

00:08:18 ◼   ► I love that moment of sickness the the [TS]

00:08:21 ◼   ► death star again because that was the [TS]

00:08:23 ◼   ► for me that was one of those unexpected [TS]

00:08:24 ◼   ► things like wow that going all the way [TS]

00:08:26 ◼   ► back there building we're building [TS]

00:08:28 ◼   ► another Death Star we're gonna notice [TS]

00:08:30 ◼   ► that they must have started it like when [TS]

00:08:32 ◼   ► the first one was already done though [TS]

00:08:33 ◼   ► right yeah like it's a little bit a few [TS]

00:08:36 ◼   ► years since the building one would build [TS]

00:08:38 ◼   ► two for twice the price [TS]

00:08:39 ◼   ► exactly right and and although in most [TS]

00:08:42 ◼   ► upscale you know but it looks you know [TS]

00:08:44 ◼   ► it's it's only partially constructed [TS]

00:08:45 ◼   ► it's probably not fully operational [TS]

00:08:48 ◼   ► it looks much cooler doesn't everyone [TS]

00:08:50 ◼   ► think it looks me air than the athlete [TS]

00:08:52 ◼   ► and one the completed ones like it's [TS]

00:08:54 ◼   ► kind of a big golf tennis with all the [TS]

00:08:56 ◼   ► great the imperfections of it i think [TS]

00:08:58 ◼   ► make it that much more intriguing and it [TS]

00:09:01 ◼   ► it's featureless in a giant sphere you [TS]

00:09:05 ◼   ► but the tiny cracks in this thing makes [TS]

00:09:09 ◼   ► love the the incomplete tests are [TS]

00:09:11 ◼   ► there's a shot later on which will get [TS]

00:09:13 ◼   ► to what that actually that i love [TS]

00:09:14 ◼   ► because it tries to put the death star [TS]

00:09:16 ◼   ► in in size perspective with the the moon [TS]

00:09:20 ◼   ► that its orbiting around but [TS]

00:09:21 ◼   ► so in this opening scene Darth Vader [TS]

00:09:25 ◼   ► arrives on this constructed Death Star [TS]

00:09:27 ◼   ► to talk to the the gentleman who's in [TS]

00:09:30 ◼   ► charge of building it and I was [TS]

00:09:33 ◼   ► immediately struck by what kind of a [TS]

00:09:35 ◼   ► manager the Emperor is the guy seems to [TS]

00:09:40 ◼   ► talk a good game is like oh no we're on [TS]

00:09:42 ◼   ► track [TS]

00:09:42 ◼   ► we're doing great star we're gonna make [TS]

00:09:45 ◼   ► it we're going to get all our schedules [TS]

00:09:46 ◼   ► and and and Arthur's like rent but [TS]

00:09:49 ◼   ► directors writers like yeah whatever [TS]

00:09:52 ◼   ► doesn't share your enthusiasm I so I'm [TS]

00:09:55 ◼   ► here to basically kick you in the shins [TS]

00:09:57 ◼   ► and make sure that you do your job so I [TS]

00:09:59 ◼   ► so immediately my thought is wow that [TS]

00:10:01 ◼   ► Emperor he's a jerk he's a player of the [TS]

00:10:04 ◼   ► Darth Vader's like the one the one my [TS]

00:10:06 ◼   ► capable guy in the Empire and he's doing [TS]

00:10:07 ◼   ► his job is to like get around like [TS]

00:10:09 ◼   ► yellow people until they actually do [TS]

00:10:11 ◼   ► their job is the fixer [TS]

00:10:13 ◼   ► yeah yes is the Emperor's fixer i love [TS]

00:10:16 ◼   ► also I I could not believe that that [TS]

00:10:18 ◼   ► this was the first time I sort of [TS]

00:10:19 ◼   ► thought about the fact that in that [TS]

00:10:21 ◼   ► first shot the shuttle comes out of the [TS]

00:10:23 ◼   ► Star Destroyer slinging things down is [TS]

00:10:26 ◼   ► over to the dark clothes little wing [TS]

00:10:28 ◼   ► things up land and i was first time [TS]

00:10:29 ◼   ► actually that was it needs a little [TS]

00:10:31 ◼   ► things for the situation it made sense [TS]

00:10:35 ◼   ► to me because they're entering the [TS]

00:10:36 ◼   ► hangar which probably has artificial [TS]

00:10:38 ◼   ► gravity it was some sort of with that [TS]

00:10:40 ◼   ► but it really goes in that space [TS]

00:10:44 ◼   ► Donald continues I was amused idea I [TS]

00:10:47 ◼   ► well I mean you know 20 what to almost [TS]

00:10:50 ◼   ► 30 years of watching this movie and I [TS]

00:10:52 ◼   ► did this is the first time it actually [TS]

00:10:53 ◼   ► even occurred to me i didn't care before [TS]

00:10:55 ◼   ► but now i'm looking for all the little [TS]

00:10:57 ◼   ► details looking for the Knicks as i said [TS]

00:10:59 ◼   ► i watch this with my kids and my kids [TS]

00:11:08 ◼   ► funny things Mike it's a while watching [TS]

00:11:43 ◼   ► shuttle deck and my son turns to me and [TS]

00:11:53 ◼   ► it's just inside he's yeah he goes into [TS]

00:11:55 ◼   ► a little side room to weep and write a [TS]

00:11:58 ◼   ► letter home explaining he may not be [TS]

00:12:27 ◼   ► used a couple times in this movie of the [TS]

00:12:29 ◼   ► big black floor and then like the matte [TS]

00:12:30 ◼   ► paintings behind in everything right [TS]

00:12:32 ◼   ► yeah and some that's a big tile black [TS]

00:12:36 ◼   ► floor with like scuff marks all over it [TS]

00:12:37 ◼   ► and looking at that floor like you know [TS]

00:12:40 ◼   ► if they did that and a green screen they [TS]

00:12:42 ◼   ► wouldn't have made the floor so kind of [TS]

00:12:44 ◼   ► like dingy looking because it's hard to [TS]

00:12:46 ◼   ► get a giant serve polished surface you [TS]

00:12:48 ◼   ► know in a computer you can get a [TS]

00:12:49 ◼   ► perfectly smooth classy black surface [TS]

00:12:52 ◼   ► made of tiles but these are these are [TS]

00:12:54 ◼   ► beat up tiles on a soundstage somewhere [TS]
