00:06:23   I I have to say it's been a long time [TS]

00:06:25   trying to cover the title might never [TS]

00:06:26   find one that that I quite like that [TS]

00:06:28   much but ask me by the end of the show [TS]

00:06:29   and I have like about 20 that i will [TS]

00:06:47   act like you know that you would see on [TS]

00:06:49   the marketing poster including they work [TS]

00:06:51   nights also alternatively it's been a [TS]

00:06:55   hard day's night and crime doesn't stand [TS]

00:06:58   a chance in hell and an extensive list [TS]

00:07:01   of titles that are far worse than any of [TS]

00:07:03   those alright so premise of the show [TS]

00:07:05   with a combined experience of more than [TS]

00:07:08   1,000 years of sleuthing these three can [TS]

00:07:10   unravel almost any mystery sometimes [TS]

00:07:12   without even leaving the office which is [TS]

00:07:13   good because if they step in the [TS]

00:07:14   sunlight catch on fire [TS]

00:07:16   pilot episode 101 titled the bloodsucker [TS]

00:07:23   proxy raw who just friends are like [TS]

00:07:29   cheers in this round right this is how [TS]

00:07:31   this works [TS]

00:07:31   no Cheers was good [TS]

00:07:38   any you guys get a step forward keep [TS]

00:07:41   your comments to the this is exactly why [TS]

00:07:44   we can thanks for setting the stage damn [TS]

00:07:48   mysteriously sucked through portals a [TS]

00:07:50   quartet of vampires each from different [TS]

00:07:52   realities enter our own world [TS]

00:07:54   angel David Boreanaz Mick st. John alex [TS]

00:07:57   o'loughlin nick knight errant win Davies [TS]

00:08:00   and Henry Fitzroy estar compliment [TS]

00:08:03   recognizing each other for what they are [TS]

00:08:05   the four come to an uneasy truce as they [TS]

00:08:06   try to discover what has brought them to [TS]

00:08:08   this terrifying locale santa barbara [TS]

00:08:10   california deprived of their resources [TS]

00:08:12   the four quickly turned 21 pursuit they [TS]

00:08:14   know that of private investigations but [TS]

00:08:16   all too quickly realized that this world [TS]

00:08:18   has no need for detectives their caliber [TS]

00:08:20   there is no lurking supernatural evil no [TS]

00:08:23   terrifying criminal masterminds instead [TS]

00:08:25   clients want them to find lost pets or [TS]

00:08:26   track cheating spouses also find [TS]

00:08:29   themselves constantly hounded by a [TS]

00:08:30   wannabe assistant Shawn Spencer James [TS]

00:08:32   Roday who tells his own crime solving [TS]

00:08:34   prowess but is more of an annoyance than [TS]

00:08:37   any use the Troy having had enough of [TS]

00:08:40   this detective lights-out decides to [TS]

00:08:41   retire from a 480 years old enough to [TS]

00:08:44   qualify for Social Security the others [TS]

00:08:46   tried to disabuse him but he's adamant [TS]

00:08:47   and moved to a nearby retirement [TS]

00:08:49   community Shady Glen but when fits right [TS]

00:08:51   turns up dead at Shady Glen and not all [TS]

00:08:53   dead but start stake through the heart [TS]

00:08:55   with a stake of the purest Carpathian [TS]

00:08:56   would our frankie rose to send to [TS]

00:08:58   investigate the fridge Carpathian wood [TS]

00:09:01   turns out it's a it's a retirement [TS]

00:09:04   community for X detectives and cops who [TS]

00:09:06   are two weeks from retirement run by a [TS]

00:09:07   former private detective [TS]

00:09:09   Maggie Hayes little Shepherd fake [TS]

00:09:11   private detective [TS]

00:09:13   maddie is eager to have the trail look [TS]

00:09:15   into things off the record though her [TS]

00:09:16   assistant mr. Finkelstein and one of the [TS]

00:09:18   residents granddaughters seem less than [TS]

00:09:20   thrilled when they start poking around [TS]

00:09:21   they're caught by the purported [TS]

00:09:23   granddaughter who turns out to be fringe [TS]

00:09:24   division special agent Olivia Dunham [TS]

00:09:26   working undercover and by Esther who [TS]

00:09:28   turns out to be none other than [TS]

00:09:29   newly-promoted middle woman when he [TS]

00:09:30   wants it [TS]

00:09:31   the two women class with each other [TS]

00:09:33   though at least both agree that they [TS]

00:09:34   can't quite trust the good-looking but [TS]

00:09:36   suspiciously pale and strangely youthful [TS]

00:09:38   young man who had a habit of [TS]

00:09:39   disappearing whenever they're not being [TS]

00:09:40   actively watched Shawn Spencer also [TS]

00:09:44   proves his worth when his latent psychic [TS]

00:09:45   powers manifest leaving haunted by a [TS]

00:09:47   ghostly presence from beyond three [TS]

00:09:49   presences in fact renowned detectives [TS]

00:09:51   Carl Kolchak Jim Rockford and Spencer no [TS]

00:09:53   relation all of whom were former [TS]

00:09:55   residents of shady glen they reveal that [TS]

00:09:57   something more is going on at the [TS]

00:09:58   retirement home and that perhaps our [TS]

00:09:59   vampire friends were not the only things [TS]

00:10:01   to be sucked into this world toes so so [TS]

00:10:07   it's not just vampire detectives its [TS]

00:10:09   vampire detectives and ghost detectives [TS]

00:10:12   and ghost detector ghost of a former [TS]

00:10:14   detectives supernatural detectives or [TS]

00:10:18   all what happened to Nick Knight [TS]

00:10:20   McKnight he's out there he's one of the [TS]

00:10:23   three he's the he's one of the three who [TS]

00:10:24   lives and then they'd be the fourth guy [TS]

00:10:26   who I didn't get to draft is the guest [TS]

00:10:27   star gets often though he gets off okay [TS]

00:10:29   yes I have a question how are people [TS]

00:10:31   coming to these people to find their [TS]

00:10:32   lost pets and meeting with them at night [TS]

00:10:34   like if I want to get someone to find my [TS]

00:10:37   cat and i guess i should come over their [TS]

00:10:38   office is only open at night where they [TS]

00:10:41   can come in the office [TS]

00:10:42   yeah i mean they have office hours i [TS]

00:10:44   feel i thought you were gonna do like a [TS]

00:10:46   day shift and maybe he'll lose your cat [TS]

00:10:48   at two in the morning and you don't want [TS]

00:10:50   to wait until morning when the the cat [TS]

00:10:53   find her office is generally open at ten [TS]

00:10:55   am I mean think about it right [TS]

00:10:58   the best chances of finding your pet are [TS]

00:11:00   very soon after they disappear if they [TS]

00:11:02   disappear at night you don't wait no max [TS]

00:11:04   morning is like a fluffy disappeared [TS]

00:11:05   like 12 hours ago but the trail is cold [TS]

00:11:07   that's about so they basically have a [TS]

00:11:09   very limited range because there night [TS]

00:11:12   detectives so they're going to work they [TS]

00:11:14   work nights and my tagline is yeah [TS]

00:11:16   that's my that's my my pitch i thank you [TS]

00:11:21   for your time [TS]

00:11:22   I'll see my a I think we should have a [TS]

00:11:24   judging system and it should be i would [TS]

00:11:26   watch her I wouldn't watch that [TS]

00:11:27   so who would watch his show I would [TS]

00:11:30   watch that but I'll watch pretty much [TS]

00:11:32   anything i watch that watch up to watch [TS]

00:11:36   the pilot I want to kind of keep any [TS]

00:11:38   good [TS]

00:11:39   yeah so so as a network executive it's [TS]

00:11:44   gonna be it's gonna be cancelled bit [TS]

00:11:45   after season one if it makes it that 16 [TS]

00:11:47   episodes i give it 6 episode so it's so [TS]

00:11:49   the attack i'm going to take here is do [TS]

00:11:51   I have some notes for you as the as the [TS]

00:11:53   network executive and I do I'm going to [TS]

00:11:55   say I think it's confusing that you've [TS]

00:11:57   got these guys coming from other [TS]

00:11:58   universes so i simplify it I'd have to [TS]

00:12:02   be that they were always here and they [TS]

00:12:04   they used to have a more thriving [TS]

00:12:06   business but now they're a little more [TS]

00:12:08   down-on-their-luck evils not the [TS]

00:12:10   business the growth industry that used [TS]

00:12:12   to be like the economy you know i would [TS]

00:12:14   have gone that way [TS]

00:12:15   OMG thats a good daughter i mean i think [TS]

00:12:17   part of the trickiness is because we [TS]

00:12:18   have characters coming from different [TS]

00:12:19   universes I think the temptation is to [TS]

00:12:21   say there must be some explanation for [TS]

00:12:22   how they all got to our universe [TS]

00:12:24   incidentally in mind the they're all [TS]

00:12:26   from TV isn't TV one big happy universe [TS]

00:12:29   and he's got other people being sucked [TS]

00:12:30   in from other universes as part of his [TS]

00:12:32   story right [TS]

00:12:33   the potential backstory for that is that [TS]

00:12:35   the collective will power of millions of [TS]

00:12:37   teenage girls trying to force a edward [TS]

00:12:39   cullen from Twilight into existence [TS]

00:12:41   slightly miss and instead get these [TS]

00:12:43   other Rama as a studio exactly our [TS]

00:12:46   research shows that vampires are [TS]

00:12:48   trending downwards but mummies are [TS]

00:12:50   trending up so if you could really work [TS]

00:12:52   the show to include more mummies right i [TS]

00:12:54   love the show [TS]

00:12:55   I love it it's a great idea however let [TS]

00:12:57   more maybe thought about not having [TS]

00:12:58   vampires but instead mummys gold mummies [TS]

00:13:01   and then that's when I walk out with my [TS]

00:13:04   head home game although charges [TS]

00:13:07   alternate to this alternate concept we [TS]

00:13:09   would like to remake Petticoat Junction [TS]

00:13:10   so if you'd rather work on that [TS]

00:13:13   alright mummies [TS]

00:13:16   it's brilliant it's a license to print [TS]

00:13:20   money i tell you all right i would [TS]

00:13:23   anybody like to volunteer next door are [TS]

00:13:25   you all still cowards [TS]

00:13:27   I will next time alright John get in [TS]

00:13:30   here with get yes get it over with this [TS]

00:13:34   with your best shot John i don't i don't [TS]

00:13:36   think this is as long as dance but i [TS]

00:13:37   would ask that everyone hold their [TS]

00:13:39   groaning until the end [TS]

00:13:41   no promises I refuse to promise that ok [TS]

00:13:43   and and before you answer do you have a [TS]

00:13:45   title and do you have an elevator pitch [TS]

00:13:46   i do not have an elevator pitch and the [TS]

00:13:49   title will be at the end [TS]

00:13:50   ok alright sort of a punchline alright [TS]

00:13:52   you're building up to it that i [TS]

00:13:54   want--that's nada is calling it a [TS]

00:13:56   punchline maybe too generous [TS]

00:13:58   okay here we go lowered expectations yes [TS]

00:14:01   it's 500 years in the future mankind has [TS]

00:14:04   slipped the surly bonds of Earth and [TS]

00:14:06   spread across the galaxy thanks to a [TS]

00:14:07   repulsion breakthrough that harnesses [TS]

00:14:09   the powerful electrostatic discharges [TS]

00:14:10   founded the atmospheres of gas giant [TS]

00:14:12   planets is that all makes sense a [TS]

00:14:14   planetary government controls most of [TS]

00:14:16   the civilized planets but on the more [TS]

00:14:18   outer rim planets let's say government [TS]

00:14:20   authorities less potent on solo is the [TS]

00:14:22   captain of a starship and a smuggler [TS]

00:14:24   surprise river song is the [TS]

00:14:26   second-in-command a tough competently he [TS]

00:14:27   knows their way around a gun and an old [TS]

00:14:29   war buddy of Hans its pilot and trusted [TS]

00:14:32   friend is Hank Stallworth ruffled [TS]

00:14:34   good-natured fellow also happens to be [TS]

00:14:35   riversong husband jay-z Steiners ships [TS]

00:14:40   mechanic she's young and innocent but [TS]

00:14:42   with a hydrospanner James Ford is a [TS]

00:14:45   hired gun he's great in a fight but the [TS]

00:14:47   others on the crew not are not sure that [TS]

00:14:48   he can be trusted your own higher Harris [TS]

00:14:50   is a high-class corazon tagging along [TS]

00:14:52   and hardship for transport and [TS]

00:14:54   protections her presence lends an air of [TS]

00:14:56   legitimacy to another wise ragtag crew [TS]

00:14:58   but there's definitely some sexual [TS]

00:14:59   tension between jones scruffy-looking on [TS]

00:15:01   into the life of this crew falls Jack [TS]

00:15:03   Shephard a doctor from one of the [TS]

00:15:04   civilized planet and its resistance to [TS]

00:15:06   echo from the government would explain [TS]

00:15:09   why Tywin Lannister's the government [TS]

00:15:11   officer in charge of apprehending Jack [TS]

00:15:13   echo and he has no trouble going through [TS]

00:15:15   some anti-government rebels come to get [TS]

00:15:16   what he wants [TS]

00:15:17   finally at the far reaches of the known [TS]

00:15:19   plants like the nomadic tribes known as [TS]

00:15:20   the Horde goodbye Khal Drogo even [TS]

00:15:23   government ships fear them together on [TS]

00:15:25   his crew flip from planet to planet in [TS]

00:15:27   their tiny spaceship making a dishonest [TS]

00:15:28   living as smugglers what [TS]

00:15:29   they avoid any Imperial entanglements [TS]

00:15:30   and steer clear of the hoard all still [TS]

00:15:33   trying to be the good guys in the movie [TS]

00:15:34   of their lives there on ship crushes the [TS]

00:15:36   trails heist of the week episodes and [TS]

00:15:38   remote planets and overall story are [TS]

00:15:40   concerning the mysterious backstory of [TS]

00:15:41   Jack and echo the show's title is the [TS]

00:15:44   name of hardship the lightning bug [TS]

00:15:46   oh well then we grown now [TS]

00:15:51   really it's gonna make a million dollars [TS]

00:15:53   well I never heard of anything like this [TS]

00:15:54   before I have a feeling that this show [TS]

00:15:56   will be canceled after 13 episodes only [TS]

00:15:58   type of which will air not not the [TS]

00:16:01   correct i'm not even in correct order [TS]

00:16:04   wow so I have nothing to say to that I [TS]

00:16:07   executed the plan not very creative but [TS]

00:16:09   it's kind of like like a pet cemetery [TS]

00:16:12   when the dad really wants a little boy [TS]

00:16:14   to come back to life so he uses dark [TS]

00:16:16   magic and and reanimates the corpse [TS]

00:16:21   that's what I've done here thinking 35 [TS]

00:16:24   yeah is a yeah I mean what's the [TS]

00:16:28   over/under how long and how many [TS]

00:16:29   character descriptions it took people to [TS]

00:16:31   figure out where your minutes i think i [TS]

00:16:33   made it about three i think i made about [TS]

00:16:35   three before I think it's really I tried [TS]

00:16:37   to order it so it's not obvious but [TS]

00:16:39   seriously there's very little you can [TS]

00:16:40   say to kind of give it away because it [TS]

00:16:42   was such a unique combination i will [TS]

00:16:44   give you i will give you serious credit [TS]

00:16:45   for drafting an entire fantasy you know [TS]

00:16:48   entire cast that it would not even have [TS]

00:16:50   occurred to me to go in this direction [TS]

00:16:51   but it fits pretty well i gotta say it [TS]

00:16:53   does it was premeditated but i did with [TS]

00:16:56   this cast i would think I was thinking [TS]

00:16:58   about other things I could do with this [TS]

00:16:59   cast [TS]

00:17:00   I when you have a castable of like [TS]

00:17:02   strong leads from a little picking like [TS]

00:17:04   our favorite guy like well I don't know [TS]

00:17:06   the people who aren't picking cartoons [TS]

00:17:07   for picking our favorite people from [TS]

00:17:09   certain from foreign shows and when you [TS]

00:17:11   have a cast of strongly like you have to [TS]

00:17:12   do like an ensemble show I guess you [TS]

00:17:14   can't you can't just do like these two [TS]

00:17:16   main guys in supporting characters [TS]

00:17:18   because the other ones are just wasted [TS]

00:17:19   and so ensemble shows on spaceships work [TS]

00:17:22   really well it was like Star Trek next [TS]

00:17:23   generation but you know episodes would [TS]

00:17:25   focus on different members of the crew [TS]

00:17:26   while ensemble shows are great i don't [TS]

00:17:28   know why they don't I honestly I CR was [TS]

00:17:30   kind of an ensemble show but space [TS]

00:17:32   ensemble shows i wish there were more of [TS]

00:17:34   them [TS]

00:17:35   that one star song had been on ER may be [TS]

00:17:37   able to watch [TS]

00:17:38   hmm yeah I'm solo the only thing that [TS]

00:17:42   scared me to death John in that entire [TS]

00:17:44   thing is when you told us about how the [TS]

00:17:46   backstory of of Jack and echo would [TS]

00:17:48   eventually come out because again that's [TS]

00:17:49   going to be an episode where we explain [TS]

00:17:51   his tattoos and I don't want to but I [TS]

00:17:54   mean I mean come on [TS]

00:17:55   it can it can rest very well on the [TS]

00:17:58   acting talents of Matthew facts and [TS]

00:18:00   Matthew Fox analyze it is I'm sure they [TS]

00:18:02   can carry and the word that that episode [TS]

00:18:05   will never end well that's what that's [TS]

00:18:07   why i like your school is good because [TS]

00:18:08   she's already nuts at Mike and she's [TS]

00:18:10   good at playing nuts and we don't expect [TS]

00:18:11   her to be sensible it was actually [TS]

00:18:13   really hard to find matchups for those [TS]

00:18:15   those roles i had very few alternates [TS]

00:18:17   like Jack works as a doctor because [TS]

00:18:18   Simon was pretty boring and Ryback was [TS]

00:18:21   kind of boring you know I mean kind of [TS]

00:18:23   upstanding dou dou no protective isn't [TS]

00:18:26   there enough [TS]

00:18:26   yeah it's gross who's dumb Dan who's boy [TS]

00:18:29   who's the boyfriend in middle man [TS]

00:18:31   because he would work well as other [TS]

00:18:33   forward Tyler for would work well as a [TS]

00:18:36   Simon standin I patellar for telephones [TS]

00:18:39   too cool for that [TS]

00:18:41   alright anything more to say about [TS]

00:18:43   lightning bug would you watch the show I [TS]

00:18:45   would watch that I watched how i have [TS]

00:18:47   watched yeah i watched all of this show [TS]

00:18:50   yeah i would not watch the show I don't [TS]

00:18:53   like this hot solo guy though he seems [TS]

00:18:55   like a mal Reynolds knockoff I don't [TS]

00:18:57   know I've been I don't like the idea [TS]

00:18:59   that Han Solo flits from planet to [TS]

00:19:02   planet that just doesn't compare them [TS]

00:19:04   all ships oh that sounds like the kind [TS]

00:19:05   of guy that would shoot second bug angle [TS]

00:19:07   i don't like the ladybug powered by [TS]

00:19:09   lightning you get that part [TS]

00:19:11   alright any any other any other thoughts [TS]

00:19:15   about lightning bug before we move on [TS]

00:19:17   well Jason you should do your notes [TS]

00:19:18   because i like it do you think there was [TS]

00:19:21   something wrong with firefly that caused [TS]

00:19:23   it to not be successful but you changed [TS]

00:19:24   your own way is this turning into a fire [TS]

00:19:27   five clusters it was on fox as a fox [TS]

00:19:30   executive i have to say that I think [TS]

00:19:31   your pilot while excellent and perhaps [TS]

00:19:33   the best thing you've ever done [TS]

00:19:34   jaws we're just talking here John it's [TS]

00:19:37   owned by the way down not shower or [TS]

00:19:39   whatever you say Joey we're we're we're [TS]

00:19:43   not going to show it well we'll just [TS]

00:19:44   pick a random episode from later on and [TS]

00:19:47   will show that one instead and we'll see [TS]

00:19:48   what happens so good luck with that [TS]

00:19:50   brilliant and don't make you no don't [TS]

00:19:53   plan on being around here in the spring [TS]

00:19:54   clean out your desk now in fact is all [TS]

00:19:59   right Scott McNulty its return [TS]

00:20:01   oh dear ok I I don't have an elevator [TS]

00:20:05   pitch so I'm just gonna jump in to get a [TS]

00:20:09   chance i do but uh it i will it'll be [TS]

00:20:12   explained [TS]

00:20:13   suspenseful title again okay no not [TS]

00:20:15   really it's it's right in the second [TS]

00:20:16   paragraph and i only have a 50 [TS]

00:20:19   paragraphs so it's great excellent i'm [TS]

00:20:22   looking for a Bible with the complete [TS]

00:20:23   story arc out five years if we're going [TS]

00:20:25   to invest in your show so everybody be [TS]

00:20:27   ready for that [TS]

00:20:27   yeah i'm ready i have a i'll just email [TS]

00:20:30   it to you right now ok check your [TS]

00:20:31   blackberry [TS]

00:20:32   i'm at all right you've heard of girl [TS]

00:20:35   meets boy you've heard of girl meets [TS]

00:20:37   girl and boy meets boy now here the [TS]

00:20:40   amazing story of when bot means meets [TS]

00:20:43   omnipotent being that's right in queue [TS]

00:20:46   conquers all [TS]

00:20:47   Tom servo is a boy about in love with Q [TS]

00:20:49   a being who can change the gravitational [TS]

00:20:51   constant universe but doesn't have a [TS]

00:20:53   clue when it comes to relationships [TS]

00:20:54   because you okay with his non-functional [TS]

00:20:57   hands I just have to ask is this Iranian [TS]

00:21:00   narrated by Larry David playing the [TS]

00:21:03   future Tom servo accounts when servo [TS]

00:21:06   meets cute [TS]

00:21:07   q for the first time Tom servo world arm [TS]

00:21:11   wrestling champ is at this with this [TS]

00:21:13   coach confidant a chung when Q walks [TS]

00:21:16   into the gym and time stops [TS]

00:21:19   literally it would seem q is locked in [TS]

00:21:21   battle with Space Ghost when they [TS]

00:21:23   crashed into the gym gym owner doctor [TS]

00:21:25   who saves his gym crying today no [TS]

00:21:28   punching bag dies with the clever use of [TS]

00:21:30   his sonic screwdriver q temporary bereft [TS]

00:21:33   of his powers due to the doctors trick [TS]

00:21:35   needs a place to stay and Tom servo [TS]

00:21:37   invited to stay with him in his midtown [TS]

00:21:39   loft but doesn't ask his roommates first [TS]

00:21:42   MacGyver in colombo aren't as excited [TS]

00:21:44   about cubing of them they grill q and [TS]

00:21:47   colombo has one more question before he [TS]

00:21:49   votes with harm to let q crash on the [TS]

00:21:51   couch to the montage q throws away [TS]

00:21:54   colombo cigars MacGyver designs cubes [TS]

00:21:56   annoyingly loud alarm clock with the [TS]

00:21:59   toothpick [TS]

00:22:00   Tom and Q build a house of cards only to [TS]

00:22:03   have it knocked over by dog Colombo's [TS]

00:22:05   positive basset hound of course the [TS]

00:22:07   roommates decided to have a little party [TS]

00:22:08   which gets out of hand when space ghost [TS]

00:22:10   shows up to settle his beef with cute [TS]

00:22:12   one-on-one a knock on the door stops the [TS]

00:22:15   fight and it turns out to be the roomies [TS]

00:22:16   neighbor Lorelai Gilmore cradling her [TS]

00:22:19   newborn son birth as as soon as QC is [TS]

00:22:23   Lorelei he's in love and you can embed [TS]

00:22:25   hot you can bet high jinks ensue on cue [TS]

00:22:28   conquers all [TS]

00:22:29   coming soon it's sure to be pretty [TS]

00:22:31   pretty good [TS]

00:22:32   oh I'm calling a foul he did not draft [TS]

00:22:36   that dog i agree yeah I had to draft my [TS]

00:22:40   dog that the dog was a guest star the [TS]

00:22:44   dog is essentially columbus sonic [TS]

00:22:45   screwdriver investors are Eliab directed [TS]

00:22:48   to the size of the driver in the TARDIS [TS]

00:22:49   to likely to die objected to Han Solo [TS]

00:22:52   but hey that was within the rules [TS]

00:22:54   perfectly not dateable see if we can [TS]

00:22:57   solve this the dog dies at the end of [TS]

00:22:59   the pilot is not a series [TS]

00:23:01   ok so Lorne Michaels i am not watching [TS]

00:23:03   this show then that said I'm not watch [TS]

00:23:05   it you can't get the dog so I have to [TS]

00:23:09   ask so that the doctor owns a gym gym he [TS]

00:23:15   does sweat it wasn't like a time Jim no [TS]

00:23:20   it's just the gym [TS]

00:23:21   this is this is this is bigger on the [TS]

00:23:23   inside i mean even to LA [TS]

00:23:26   spacious trip thats really will make you [TS]

00:23:29   bigger on the inside is only one inch [TS]

00:23:31   bigger on the inside those that's [TS]

00:23:32   impressive [TS]

00:23:33   so but Tom servo is is not in love with [TS]

00:23:37   q no Tom servo is another QQ is in love [TS]

00:23:40   with Lorelai Gilmore oh i see it so it's [TS]

00:23:42   sort of a love triangle [TS]

00:23:44   exactly all right who's Lorelai Gilmore [TS]

00:23:47   in love with colombo she only has eyes [TS]

00:23:51   for her son worth [TS]

00:23:52   ok I same space precious cargo space Co [TS]

00:23:56   sort of an antagonist is he is next from [TS]

00:23:58   his arch-nemesis right arm [TS]

00:24:03   I was not sold until I was promised high [TS]

00:24:05   jinks at which point I immediately [TS]

00:24:07   decided i would watch this [TS]

00:24:09   I was sold when it came to my diver as [TS]

00:24:12   Richard Dean Anderson as [TS]

00:24:14   don't know her dreamy and you know with [TS]

00:24:16   him in Colombo and combines i watch that [TS]

00:24:18   portion of it my notes would be the love [TS]

00:24:20   story may be superfluous to the main [TS]

00:24:22   action which were these characters but i [TS]

00:24:24   also think the the act of having a your [TS]

00:24:27   primary character had beaten be a [TS]

00:24:30   narrator from the future recounting [TS]

00:24:32   events which is a really interesting [TS]

00:24:34   concept i haven't seen before [TS]

00:24:37   um you know and kids that's how i met [TS]

00:24:41   your about how i met your omnipotent [TS]

00:24:43   deity [TS]

00:24:44   that's how i met your omnipotence [TS]

00:24:46   stepfather yeah well leave the alternate [TS]

00:24:48   title was how i met your queue so [TS]

00:24:51   oh nice nice [TS]

00:24:55   also you said q high jinks which is [TS]

00:24:58   funny because yeah that was getting my [TS]

00:25:00   checks [TS]

00:25:00   haha see the nice twist of a twist of [TS]

00:25:04   time [TS]

00:25:05   where's my check will will pass haha i [TS]

00:25:11   like your Moxie kid em come back next [TS]

00:25:15   year [TS]

00:25:16   how about if it's all set on a spaceship [TS]

00:25:17   and they flit from planet to planet and [TS]

00:25:21   then we're so flitting again what is it [TS]

00:25:23   with you people in fluidic it's a [TS]

00:25:24   lightning bug deflector the thing it's [TS]

00:25:27   behind think vampires are out and [TS]

00:25:29   flitting is in that's what they tell me [TS]

00:25:33   that my research tells me the [TS]

00:25:34   highest-scoring pilot we've had in five [TS]

00:25:36   years with about three kids and a [TS]

00:25:38   Volkswagen Beetle who flit from place to [TS]

00:25:40   place [TS]

00:25:40   flooding is in I can put my characters [TS]

00:25:44   in the beetle [TS]

00:25:45   okay look like an actual you MacGyver [TS]

00:25:49   Tom servo and mirth are in a beetle in [TS]

00:25:52   the doctors people we just figure on the [TS]

00:25:54   incidence of several other people are [TS]

00:25:56   also with it works itself out these [TS]

00:25:58   things right themselves and the engine [TS]

00:26:00   was in the back [TS]

00:26:02   yeah alright uh who would like to go [TS]

00:26:07   next [TS]

00:26:07   oh how i will take ER okay okay lay it [TS]

00:26:11   on us [TS]

00:26:12   alright so the name of my show is called [TS]

00:26:15   wire tact and I have a tag line that [TS]

00:26:19   goes [TS]

00:26:19   they've lost the world they're looking [TS]

00:26:21   for the truth in the near future a [TS]

00:26:24   mysterious force field has trapped the [TS]

00:26:25   citizens of the san francisco peninsula [TS]

00:26:27   from the outside world the wall appeared [TS]

00:26:30   with no warning or explanation and the [TS]

00:26:31   citizens were quickly put into panic [TS]

00:26:33   wasn't there to keep them out or keep [TS]

00:26:34   them in is the outside world still even [TS]

00:26:37   there to survive the corporation's of [TS]

00:26:39   the peninsula have taken over reforming [TS]

00:26:41   broken circuits and freeways and [TS]

00:26:43   collapsing economy in words ruling the [TS]

00:26:44   towns and the flow of information [TS]

00:26:46   manservant nevels the head [TS]

00:26:48   excuse me miss servant Neville is the [TS]

00:26:50   head of one such corporation man maker [TS]

00:26:53   of the you master and of solar panels [TS]

00:26:55   which now power the city and the public [TS]

00:26:57   figure had many have turned to in the [TS]

00:26:59   recent years he's often see in company [TS]

00:27:01   with his dog Colin and his associate tom [TS]

00:27:03   jackman while he and others attempted to [TS]

00:27:06   keep the city stable groups of ragtag [TS]

00:27:08   and formalist seek answers [TS]

00:27:10   tapping the wire to bring citizens the [TS]

00:27:12   truth or what they think is the truth to [TS]

00:27:14   keep corporations and check Natalie [TS]

00:27:16   Hurley is one such I lister she was one [TS]

00:27:18   sports reporter with the wall in place [TS]

00:27:20   she seeks answers she works with Logan [TS]

00:27:22   kale tech whiz and multi-millionaire to [TS]

00:27:24   broadcast a 60-second spot called [TS]

00:27:26   wiretapped they tap the system with help [TS]

00:27:29   from her former colleague Danny Tripp [TS]

00:27:30   who left Los Angeles for San Francisco [TS]

00:27:32   to recover from a drug addiction the [TS]

00:27:34   wall came down two weeks later and Danny [TS]

00:27:36   return to drugs what drugs you can find [TS]

00:27:38   but he knows the router codes and can [TS]

00:27:40   get them on air aiding them in their [TS]

00:27:42   search for information is 10-year old [TS]

00:27:43   Henry [TS]

00:27:44   Indiana Jones cut off from his father [TS]

00:27:46   when the wall came down and now to the [TS]

00:27:48   pilot two years after the walls [TS]

00:27:50   appearance Henry discovers a flashdrive [TS]

00:27:52   sealed in a plastic bag washed up along [TS]

00:27:54   the shoreline he brings it to logan [TS]

00:27:56   Natalie who discovered the drive [TS]

00:27:57   contains codes for a project Andromeda [TS]

00:27:59   but the information is encrypted written [TS]

00:28:01   to written in a programming language [TS]

00:28:03   none of them understand as they try and [TS]

00:28:05   crack the code a man in the southern [TS]

00:28:07   peninsula is preparing to end his life [TS]

00:28:08   his name is Silas Benjamin at one point [TS]

00:28:11   a highly-ranked politician on the [TS]

00:28:13   peninsula and devoutly religious man the [TS]

00:28:15   wall and subsequent corporation takeover [TS]

00:28:17   has made him into a shell of who he once [TS]

00:28:18   was he doubts and blames himself for the [TS]

00:28:21   disaster as he is about to commit his [TS]

00:28:23   final act you stop by Castiel an angel [TS]

00:28:25   of the Lord Castiel explains that his [TS]

00:28:27   work is not yet finished and Silas must [TS]

00:28:29   come with him [TS]

00:28:30   Castiel brings him to an island off the [TS]

00:28:32   coast of the peninsula where the force [TS]

00:28:33   field by sex inside the ruined building [TS]

00:28:36   they find a young woman with no memory [TS]

00:28:38   Castiel explains that the field had kept [TS]

00:28:40   the angels at 42 years and yet somehow [TS]

00:28:42   the girl was able to pass through the [TS]

00:28:43   wall and bring him with her [TS]

00:28:46   your mission Silas Castiel orders find [TS]

00:28:49   out who she is done that yet so it's [TS]

00:28:54   it's like Max Headroom meets the peace [TS]

00:28:59   war ya thats crazy is it is the with the [TS]

00:29:04   wall opaque or transparent doesn't mean [TS]

00:29:06   it's right spin it is like spin it [TS]

00:29:10   translates so you can actually see it's [TS]

00:29:13   it's opaque but at the same time you [TS]

00:29:15   occasionally see flashes of normalcy and [TS]

00:29:17   you also see flashes of complete [TS]

00:29:19   devastation so no one knows what the [TS]

00:29:21   hell is going on anything touching you [TS]

00:29:23   die as the Sun you through sold per [TS]

00:29:26   second it's it's it's just general light [TS]

00:29:29   I believe that it's sort of working on [TS]

00:29:30   today it's a parent it's an elusive [TS]

00:29:32   translate everything and the weather [TS]

00:29:35   yeah shoot yeah it is ax-cut the weather [TS]

00:29:39   pattern still get through people just [TS]

00:29:40   can't Pat bisexual under the dome [TS]

00:29:43   whether that's give ya [TS]

00:29:45   over the weekend i would i would [TS]

00:29:47   definitely watch this but I would be [TS]

00:29:48   annoyed the whole time I was watching it [TS]

00:29:50   by anything that had anything to do with [TS]

00:29:51   technology tapping into things flash [TS]

00:29:53   drives programming encryption I would [TS]

00:29:55   just be like hey wanna do computer stuff [TS]

00:29:56   but i would watch it like the promise I [TS]

00:29:59   I too would watch it i think i think [TS]

00:30:00   that I mean obviously the cast is a [TS]

00:30:02   given but it's a 3g enough there's [TS]

00:30:05   there's a central mystery there's [TS]

00:30:06   something to solve trying to find out [TS]

00:30:07   there's some reason to tune in week [TS]

00:30:09   after week it's like a closed room [TS]

00:30:10   mystery but really big room writ large [TS]

00:30:13   it's going to snap that cyberpunk [TS]

00:30:15   element and that kind of fighting [TS]

00:30:16   against the corporation's element plus [TS]

00:30:18   this mysterious kind of supernatural you [TS]

00:30:21   know what's the cause of this was a [TS]

00:30:22   supernatural was a technological which [TS]

00:30:25   people love that until they find out it [TS]

00:30:27   was all angels that that did in the last [TS]

00:30:29   episode and then make it very angry [TS]

00:30:31   yes one I would not watch this because [TS]

00:30:33   it sounds like a really cool concept and [TS]

00:30:35   therefore cancel bait and therefore [TS]

00:30:38   guarantees disappointment for iiy in the [TS]

00:30:41   county and I i I'm I'm obligated to so [TS]

00:30:43   I'm internet had been burned one too [TS]

00:30:45   many times my friend what if I told him [TS]

00:30:47   it wasn't just any serious [TS]

00:30:49   well we may have something here about [TS]

00:30:55   the young indiana jones was really [TS]

00:30:57   annoying room is a little bit annoying [TS]

00:31:00   but that's kind of his charm right he's [TS]

00:31:02   got to be better than shyla boof again I [TS]

00:31:04   would have gone with seventeen-year-old [TS]

00:31:05   a Sean Patrick Flanery ambience he's [TS]

00:31:08   slightly older says two years laters [TS]

00:31:10   interesting alright Steve do you want to [TS]

00:31:15   go or you will be alright I'll go I'll [TS]

00:31:17   go ahead [TS]

00:31:18   mhm mine's a little high concept [TS]

00:31:21   no do we have to be high to get the [TS]

00:31:24   concept is that how it would help and [TS]

00:31:28   also my pitch is not terribly picky [TS]

00:31:29   because it depends on about 45 minutes [TS]

00:31:31   for the background material so I'm [TS]

00:31:34   depending entirely on my elevator pitch [TS]

00:31:36   to grab you right up front and make you [TS]

00:31:38   hungry for more of our poor power point [TS]

00:31:40   presentation it's like it's actually [TS]

00:31:41   more like a broken-down elevator pitch [TS]

00:31:43   it's like when almost people yell by the [TS]

00:31:46   time you want to get out of the elevator [TS]

00:31:48   and my elevator pitches [TS]

00:31:52   my show has a Zeppelin in it told me I [TS]

00:31:58   may be entering a little to my audience [TS]

00:31:59   yelling or rendering tell me more that's [TS]

00:32:02   that's exactly the reaction I me let me [TS]

00:32:05   let me call my secretary Bonnie clear my [TS]

00:32:08   schedule for the next 45 minutes of [TS]

00:32:10   course its body [TS]

00:32:11   alright so the name of my show is is [TS]

00:32:14   simply and I wrestled with this for a [TS]

00:32:15   bit but I rounded eventually on just [TS]

00:32:18   good not this in spite of the the [TS]

00:32:22   horrible temptation that will present [TS]

00:32:23   for TV critics to give their reviews [TS]

00:32:25   yes clever titles like good isn't let me [TS]

00:32:31   let me just lay it out for you i'll [TS]

00:32:32   start with the opening shot but when i [TS]

00:32:34   go ahead and I right not good enough [TS]

00:32:38   that's a good one so the opening shot [TS]

00:32:42   all is dark we hear a musical portion of [TS]

00:32:46   Ray Charles version of nighttime is the [TS]

00:32:48   right time in the background the camera [TS]

00:32:51   pulls back and we realize that we are [TS]

00:32:52   emerging from extreme close-up of the [TS]

00:32:55   mouth then the lips part to sing the [TS]

00:32:58   word baby in time with the music i work [TS]

00:33:02   four hours on that it really didn't come [TS]

00:33:04   off at all [TS]

00:33:04   Bravo we pull back further and see that [TS]

00:33:07   the lip syncher is rudy huxtable [TS]

00:33:08   standing alone in a utilitarian corridor [TS]

00:33:11   she has a third arm with accompanying [TS]

00:33:14   sleeve growing out of the center of her [TS]

00:33:15   chest she shouts bad again as something [TS]

00:33:21   huge and Harry enters frame from left as [TS]

00:33:24   we back further away we see that is an [TS]

00:33:25   enormous three-headed gopher a man with [TS]

00:33:28   wheels where his feet should be rolls [TS]

00:33:29   into frame from the right and begins to [TS]

00:33:31   whale away at the Gopher with a [TS]

00:33:32   white-tipped black cane all the while [TS]

00:33:34   shouting come on his cries are suddenly [TS]

00:33:38   muffled as we pass through a large [TS]

00:33:39   window into a small room where a young [TS]

00:33:41   man covered in electrode lies asleep a [TS]

00:33:43   small bed we back past another older man [TS]

00:33:46   sitting at the bedside staring intently [TS]

00:33:48   at the sleeper he pops the cover off a [TS]

00:33:50   pill bottle and tips into his mouth as [TS]

00:33:52   we back through another window and find [TS]

00:33:54   ourselves outside there's a moment of [TS]

00:33:56   disorientation it as it is revealed that [TS]

00:33:58   the room is hovering over empty space [TS]

00:34:00   until we pull back far enough to see [TS]

00:34:02   that is actually dangling beneath a [TS]

00:34:04   large seventies era [TS]

00:34:05   goodyear blimp from our angle only the [TS]

00:34:07   word good is visible at last we have [TS]

00:34:10   zoomed out far enough that we can see [TS]

00:34:12   the earth far below the landscape [TS]

00:34:14   consists of the same small rural village [TS]

00:34:16   repeated multiple times like a bad [TS]

00:34:18   photoshop fade to black [TS]

00:34:23   are you grabbed we're all your [TS]

00:34:24   characters are you just asleep i'm not [TS]

00:34:28   sure if I'm grabbed her impaled know [TS]

00:34:32   where Larry is whose one generally [TS]

00:34:33   follows the other who's the guy who's [TS]

00:34:36   that will work it will get all right [TS]

00:34:37   okay so it's not done what I I yeah yeah [TS]

00:34:40   we're not even less [TS]

00:34:41   ya know I hope you guys set up a tent [TS]

00:34:43   that's just the teaser [TS]

00:34:45   well alright so I ok here's the actual [TS]

00:34:48   pitch first a little background for [TS]

00:34:50   those of you may not remember that the [TS]

00:34:52   twilight zone episode it's a good life i [TS]

00:34:54   do you guys remember that episode [TS]

00:34:56   yes yes all right but there may be some [TS]

00:34:58   that don't yes there may be a so [TS]

00:35:00   basically in a small rural village [TS]

00:35:02   somewhere medical middle America named [TS]

00:35:05   peaks ville a baby boy named anthony is [TS]

00:35:07   born to Cloris Leachman I Anthony has [TS]

00:35:11   some unexplained genetic mutation that [TS]

00:35:13   basically gives him nearly unlimited [TS]

00:35:14   power but since he's basically a little [TS]

00:35:17   kitty has absolutely no moral compass so [TS]

00:35:19   he guilelessly set people on fire or [TS]

00:35:22   mean to him he mutates barnyard animals [TS]

00:35:25   into a grotesque abominations and he [TS]

00:35:28   wishes anything that displeases him away [TS]

00:35:30   into the cornfield know what that means [TS]

00:35:33   is never explicitly stated and of course [TS]

00:35:36   he's never disciplined because [TS]

00:35:37   everyone's afraid to make him angry [TS]

00:35:38   Rod Serling even notes in the [TS]

00:35:41   introduction that the village is totally [TS]

00:35:42   isolated from the rest of the world the [TS]

00:35:44   residents don't know whether that's [TS]

00:35:45   because he somehow moved peekskill [TS]

00:35:47   somewhere else or because he caused the [TS]

00:35:49   rest of the world to suddenly ceased to [TS]

00:35:51   exist so there's the background which [TS]

00:35:54   you need to know before you even get [TS]

00:35:55   into the show now here's the rest of the [TS]

00:35:57   background which which I believe should [TS]

00:35:59   probably unfold gradually over the first [TS]

00:36:01   season of Survivor argument binders [TS]

00:36:04   delivered right yes right with tabs and [TS]

00:36:08   excellent a large index and a separate [TS]

00:36:11   binder [TS]

00:36:11   thank you [TS]

00:36:12   okay so it turns out that Anthony did [TS]

00:36:16   actually destroy or somehow blank out [TS]

00:36:18   the rest of the world safe for peaks [TS]

00:36:20   Phil and few people he didn't outright [TS]

00:36:22   kill where were also they were all [TS]

00:36:24   wished into the cornfield which it turns [TS]

00:36:27   out is not a literal cornfield but a [TS]

00:36:28   limbo like alternate plane of reality [TS]

00:36:31   meanwhile the few remaining residents of [TS]

00:36:34   peaceful gamely soldier on through [TS]

00:36:35   Anthony's adolescence and his awkward [TS]

00:36:37   years puberty as you might imagine was a [TS]

00:36:39   particularly difficult time I expect [TS]

00:36:42   we'll probably indulge in some [TS]

00:36:43   flashbacks to this period throughout the [TS]

00:36:45   first season eventually Anthony is [TS]

00:36:47   either killed or wished everyone away [TS]

00:36:49   except himself and he begins to tire of [TS]

00:36:52   his lonely kingdom and around this time [TS]

00:36:54   happens across the peaceful public [TS]

00:36:55   library for one of anything better to do [TS]

00:36:58   he goes inside sits down begins to read [TS]

00:37:00   and spends weeks they're spending [TS]

00:37:02   particular time and the religion and [TS]

00:37:04   philosophy sections and listening to the [TS]

00:37:06   collection of vinyl records they have [TS]

00:37:08   any begins to view himself as an [TS]

00:37:10   abomination repent of his past actions [TS]

00:37:12   and values to do whatever you can return [TS]

00:37:14   the world is close to its former state [TS]

00:37:16   you can reasonably manage so he brings [TS]

00:37:20   the citizens people back from the [TS]

00:37:22   cornfield and they only have hazy [TS]

00:37:24   recollection of their time there but the [TS]

00:37:25   fact that the population is thinned out [TS]

00:37:27   considerably suggest that it wasn't [TS]

00:37:28   exactly a party then sets out to [TS]

00:37:31   reconstruct the landscape and bring back [TS]

00:37:33   its people's [TS]

00:37:34   however since he was just a kid when he [TS]

00:37:36   blanked out the world he has to base his [TS]

00:37:38   new reconstructed world on the [TS]

00:37:40   information he could garner from the [TS]

00:37:41   reference section of the library and [TS]

00:37:44   here's here save the people returned [TS]

00:37:46   from the cornfield [TS]

00:37:47   so basically everywhere is just a little [TS]

00:37:49   bit skewed like in a New York for [TS]

00:37:52   example the Statue of Liberty is now [TS]

00:37:54   just enormous because that's just how [TS]

00:37:56   people tend to think of it and that's [TS]

00:37:57   really all i had to work from and since [TS]

00:38:00   he had absolutely no reference material [TS]

00:38:01   for large sways of the planet like [TS]

00:38:03   Kansas in the rest of Middle America he [TS]

00:38:05   simply use the one place he knew well [TS]

00:38:06   which is peaceful so huge amounts of the [TS]

00:38:10   planet are just covered with this tiny [TS]

00:38:12   little village and it's kind of a work [TS]

00:38:14   in progress so we'll eventually get [TS]

00:38:16   there and and hopefully recover it to [TS]

00:38:18   its former state all right take a breath [TS]

00:38:21   fast forward to now it's 15 to 20 years [TS]

00:38:24   since the events of the twilight zone [TS]

00:38:26   episode [TS]

00:38:26   code and Anthony is it now vowed to [TS]

00:38:28   never again use his powers for [TS]

00:38:30   destructive purposes [TS]

00:38:31   he's made great progress in efforts to [TS]

00:38:33   rebuild what he destroyed but [TS]

00:38:34   unfortunately he has no control over [TS]

00:38:36   what he thinks and season his dreams he [TS]

00:38:40   often wakes from sleep to find that he's [TS]

00:38:42   dream some terrifying grotesque [TS]

00:38:44   creatures are some dreadful change that [TS]

00:38:46   he has no recollection of and therefore [TS]

00:38:49   you can't immediately use his powers to [TS]

00:38:51   fix them so to help prevent this [TS]

00:38:53   he has agreed to self-exile aboard a [TS]

00:38:56   gigantic Zeppelin which we will refer to [TS]

00:38:59   as the sword of Damocles where it is [TS]

00:39:03   hoped that his diminished direct contact [TS]

00:39:05   with earth will help prevent him from [TS]

00:39:07   inflicting his subconscious imaginings [TS]

00:39:08   on the populace the airship also [TS]

00:39:10   transported from place to place where [TS]

00:39:12   you can tinker with those parts of her [TS]

00:39:13   that still require repair of course he [TS]

00:39:16   naturally still has plenty of dreams [TS]

00:39:17   about the airship itself with bizarre [TS]

00:39:19   and occasionally terrifying results the [TS]

00:39:23   blimps admittedly wacky crew is [TS]

00:39:25   responsible for keeping fremont aloft [TS]

00:39:27   and alive trying to find a cure for his [TS]

00:39:30   malady or mutation and protecting [TS]

00:39:33   themselves in the ship from anthony's [TS]

00:39:34   dreams as best they can [TS]

00:39:35   his work screw-ups as usual advantage to [TS]

00:39:38   the cornfield [TS]

00:39:39   so here's the crew dr. house is a [TS]

00:39:44   Fremont's personal physician constantly [TS]

00:39:47   in search of a way to prevent or [TS]

00:39:48   ameliorate the effects of fremont [TS]

00:39:50   streams he's driven to learn as much as [TS]

00:39:52   you can about Anthony's mutation partly [TS]

00:39:53   because that's just the way is but also [TS]

00:39:56   because a nebulous entity desires to [TS]

00:39:58   find a way to replicate his powers for [TS]

00:40:00   their own shadowy purposes he goes along [TS]

00:40:02   with it because there is a sole source [TS]

00:40:04   of a steady supply of vicodin Larry [TS]

00:40:07   Dallas is the ship's bartender [TS]

00:40:09   haha of course there's a bar on onboard [TS]

00:40:13   clearly if anyone is over it's a [TS]

00:40:16   stressful job and everyone with its soul [TS]

00:40:18   yes in fact during those periods when [TS]

00:40:20   when Freeman is actually awake i think [TS]

00:40:22   most of the crew is probably drunk [TS]

00:40:24   yes it's very stressful job and it's [TS]

00:40:27   good it's really hot so Larry is at [TS]

00:40:29   constant odds with house because House [TS]

00:40:31   believes that an all-male crew will [TS]

00:40:34   diminish fremont streams by keeping his [TS]

00:40:36   testosterone levels low [TS]

00:40:37   course they also want to avoid the [TS]

00:40:39   possibility of Anthony ever impregnating [TS]

00:40:41   somebody and passing on his mutation [TS]

00:40:42   this of course doesn't sit well with [TS]

00:40:45   Larry who basically just wants to get [TS]

00:40:46   laid so his efforts to smuggle women [TS]

00:40:49   aboard provide comic relief and and [TS]

00:40:52   father for fremont terrible imaginings [TS]

00:40:54   also each time Anthony dreams [TS]

00:40:58   Larry's afro grows or shrinks or changes [TS]

00:41:01   into some different highly amusing shape [TS]

00:41:03   really Huxtable for some reason appears [TS]

00:41:07   at the start of all the Fremont's dreams [TS]

00:41:09   lip-syncing a popular R&B hit and then [TS]

00:41:11   disappears each time she has a different [TS]

00:41:15   prominent physical abnormality for [TS]

00:41:16   unknown reasons her appearance generally [TS]

00:41:19   portends something awful about to happen [TS]

00:41:20   to the fabric of space-time but Larry [TS]

00:41:23   Dallas always tries to make time with [TS]

00:41:24   her anyway the meaning of her mysterious [TS]

00:41:27   link to Anthony is left as an exercise [TS]

00:41:29   for the season to show runner i will be [TS]

00:41:32   busy counting my money [TS]

00:41:33   uh-huh moving on Skeletor [TS]

00:41:38   yes unbeknownst to our heroes the [TS]

00:41:40   various mutations and horrors banished [TS]

00:41:42   to the cornfield have been organizing [TS]

00:41:43   and planning a revolt Skeletor who has [TS]

00:41:46   discovered a way to transport himself [TS]

00:41:48   out of the cornfield is their de facto [TS]

00:41:50   leader i do to his badass appearance and [TS]

00:41:53   striking purple hood his attempts are [TS]

00:41:56   fortunately hilariously inept and he's [TS]

00:41:58   always killed in some totally [TS]

00:41:59   non-committal fashion which allows him [TS]

00:42:02   to return we kept a week but are [TS]

00:42:04   recurring season 1 arc is the gradual [TS]

00:42:06   ramping up of this threat until a [TS]

00:42:07   full-fledged portal opens during the [TS]

00:42:09   season finale Reverend Jim ignatowski [TS]

00:42:12   former taxi hack recruited as the [TS]

00:42:15   Zeppelin's captain due to his status as [TS]

00:42:17   the world's foremost and original driver [TS]

00:42:19   has no recollection as to how he got [TS]

00:42:21   this status [TS]

00:42:22   he's also fremont spiritual guru [TS]

00:42:25   unleashing odd but suddenly profound Zen [TS]

00:42:27   koans that often help the crew out of [TS]

00:42:29   whatever Jam therein I think at some [TS]

00:42:31   point in the second season if Fox let's [TS]

00:42:33   live that long he will absent-mindedly [TS]

00:42:35   scribble the plans to convert this apple [TS]

00:42:38   into a working time machine on to the [TS]

00:42:39   ship's counselor does the Zeppelin just [TS]

00:42:42   this second does the Zeppelin wit are [TS]

00:42:45   you people still here [TS]

00:42:47   I've got a dream of professional [TS]

00:42:49   perpetual motion vibe actually a little [TS]

00:42:51   bit that is needed [TS]

00:42:53   it's this up me just goes for weeks [TS]

00:42:56   yeah yeah okay keep going to state as [TS]

00:42:58   you know i do not actually read so i [TS]

00:43:00   have no idea what you're talking about [TS]

00:43:01   and answer dance questions no Zeppelin [TS]

00:43:03   Zeppelin's whoo Zeppelin's that is there [TS]

00:43:06   a definite plural i sampled I supplies [TS]

00:43:10   they do not flip out things even [TS]

00:43:11   possibly float and float not flit they [TS]

00:43:14   flee flee fly and that is all they do [TS]

00:43:17   let's see where was I where was the [TS]

00:43:21   Skeletor [TS]

00:43:21   yeah we're going to scale your you [TS]

00:43:23   appear so Joe Bluth is made the head of [TS]

00:43:27   security due to a and mix up concerning [TS]

00:43:29   his previous affiliation with what he [TS]

00:43:32   describes as a shadowy elite law [TS]

00:43:33   enforcement agency known only as hot [TS]

00:43:35   cops agree to take the job only because [TS]

00:43:38   Anthony consented to one replace his [TS]

00:43:41   legs with self-balancing motorized [TS]

00:43:42   wheels that play Europe's the final [TS]

00:43:44   countdown whenever he enters a room and [TS]

00:43:47   to give him magical powers [TS]

00:43:49   Anthony cannot in fact give job magical [TS]

00:43:51   powers but Joe has not yet worked out [TS]

00:43:53   that his illusions only seem to function [TS]

00:43:55   properly when Anthony is in the [TS]

00:43:56   immediate vicinity [TS]

00:43:58   Ben Linus is a cipher as you may have [TS]

00:44:02   guessed he stowed aboard then insinuated [TS]

00:44:05   his way out of security team by [TS]

00:44:07   obsequious Lee befriending job and [TS]

00:44:09   applauding his crappy magic tricks he [TS]

00:44:11   frequently sabotages Linus's motives how [TS]

00:44:14   he frequently sabotages the the cruise [TS]

00:44:16   attempts to repair whatever damage [TS]

00:44:18   Fremont's dreams may have caused his [TS]

00:44:21   motives are clear but he's likely to is [TS]

00:44:23   likely they are to avenge the banishing [TS]

00:44:25   of his daughter to the cornfield to kill [TS]

00:44:28   fremont in hopes of bringing about the [TS]

00:44:29   end of the world or possibly just to [TS]

00:44:31   resolve some lingering daddy issues [TS]

00:44:33   this brings us to little Murray sparkles [TS]

00:44:37   yes McHugh cat puppet who simply appear [TS]

00:44:39   too bored one day and is hiding too [TS]

00:44:41   shocking secrets a little Marie is in [TS]

00:44:45   fact a girl kitty [TS]

00:44:47   uh yeah I know shocking right [TS]

00:44:50   did not see that coming I that's that's [TS]

00:44:53   what this show is all about twists and [TS]

00:44:55   turns [TS]

00:44:56   every I get in that case you nailed it [TS]

00:45:01   and long long blocks of text and be she [TS]

00:45:08   was Ben Linus his daughter before [TS]

00:45:12   oh she is aware of Skeletor evil [TS]

00:45:16   imaginations and desperately tries to [TS]

00:45:18   warn the Zeppelin nights of becoming [TS]

00:45:19   attacked by the cornfield errs but is [TS]

00:45:22   unable to as she can only be out in like [TS]

00:45:23   herself she tries to write messages in [TS]

00:45:26   the cat box but Reverend Jim keep [TS]

00:45:27   scooping it before she's finished [TS]

00:45:29   and lastly the Fonz ship's engineer [TS]

00:45:32   responsible for maintenance of the [TS]

00:45:34   airship he says a lot [TS]

00:45:38   yes and wax things to fix them [TS]

00:45:41   yeah so so what I is that it or is there [TS]

00:45:45   more do you want more to do what ya is [TS]

00:45:49   there's a dangerous question [TS]

00:45:51   yeah that's what frightens me is that [TS]

00:45:54   there actually is [TS]

00:45:55   it's more is there for Steve the first [TS]

00:45:57   thing could probably have used an editor [TS]

00:45:58   at some point there's a 13-part novel [TS]

00:46:01   series so some what I like about this is [TS]

00:46:03   that it's it's kind of an anthology [TS]

00:46:05   series it's like The Incredible Hulk [TS]

00:46:06   where they go from identical town two [TS]

00:46:09   identical town which I like for [TS]

00:46:11   budgetary reasons right at and they can [TS]

00:46:15   meet whatever crazy things have have [TS]

00:46:18   sprung up there as a result of the [TS]

00:46:19   reconstruction of the planet and yet [TS]

00:46:22   you've got a story arc involving your [TS]

00:46:24   your villain Skeletor trying to work his [TS]

00:46:27   way out of the cornfield and I like it [TS]

00:46:29   gives me a little of the battlestar [TS]

00:46:30   galactica 5 wherein that first season [TS]

00:46:32   you had that separate storyline on [TS]

00:46:34   Caprica where where Sharon and helo [TS]

00:46:37   we're trying to get back there and then [TS]

00:46:39   it sort of culminated in the last [TS]

00:46:40   episode my sort of see that for Skeletor [TS]

00:46:42   that he's going to emerge you know in it [TS]

00:46:45   and and they'll be a climax at the end [TS]

00:46:47   of the first season I i was getting both [TS]

00:46:49   look maybe a little bit of like twin [TS]

00:46:51   peaks atmospherically just put that [TS]

00:46:53   especially that opening which is very [TS]

00:46:54   very strange [TS]

00:46:57   yes your you'll feel to it but it gives [TS]

00:46:59   you a clue which i right [TS]

00:47:01   but also not remind me a little bit of [TS]

00:47:04   carnivale which is also extremely [TS]

00:47:05   bizarre show that you don't [TS]

00:47:08   it takes time to figure out [TS]

00:47:10   what's going on like just even literally [TS]

00:47:13   like in the action of the show and then [TS]

00:47:16   once you do once you hit that sort of [TS]

00:47:18   tipping point you like you can go back [TS]

00:47:19   and there's like a lot of stuff too like [TS]

00:47:20   oh yeah but because that's when he said [TS]

00:47:22   this thing right like seems like there's [TS]

00:47:24   a lot to unravel after you sort of [TS]

00:47:26   figured out what's going on and you go [TS]

00:47:27   back to root it seems like a real reward [TS]

00:47:30   multiple water punished as the case [TS]

00:47:31   although i would like to avoid [TS]

00:47:32   randomness for randomness is fake [TS]

00:47:34   because that just gets tiring damn quick [TS]

00:47:37   as Larry or whatever the bartender guy's [TS]

00:47:40   name is smuggle people onto a Zeppelin [TS]

00:47:42   well they they have to there's an away [TS]

00:47:45   team of course they have to spend a lot [TS]

00:47:47   of time on the ground if the land to [TS]

00:47:49   refuel and that's right then they want [TS]

00:47:52   to thank your friend town to town and [TS]

00:47:53   he's making time with rudy huxtable at [TS]

00:47:55   but age well he's trying to but she [TS]

00:47:57   disappears before he gets the [TS]

00:47:58   opportunity [TS]

00:47:59   she's only she's only there during the [TS]

00:48:01   periods when when Fremont is dreaming [TS]

00:48:03   and then she immediately disappears and [TS]

00:48:04   i would imagine she's could be variable [TS]

00:48:06   aged right [TS]

00:48:07   indeed yes so well I be in this initial [TS]

00:48:10   opening shot she of course is the very [TS]

00:48:12   small reacts try from early Cosby Show [TS]

00:48:14   but we're not only always [TS]

00:48:16   no of course not right that makes [TS]

00:48:19   perfect sense [TS]

00:48:19   indeed any other questions for Steve so [TS]

00:48:24   many questions I i gotta say i am am [TS]

00:48:29   fascinated by this this idea I i don't [TS]

00:48:33   think anybody would ever approve it but [TS]

00:48:35   it's actually pretty cool Steve I gotta [TS]

00:48:38   say thank you sir [TS]

00:48:40   the premise is good what network with [TS]

00:48:42   this run on he said fox but that's not [TS]

00:48:45   gonna I don't I don't think even Fox [TS]

00:48:47   this gotta be some cable this guy became [TS]

00:48:48   a hgtv I think it's gonna be like a few [TS]

00:48:53   v0ya expressed interest you can start [TS]

00:48:56   right away [TS]

00:48:57   shopping for map I think sighs I would [TS]

00:49:00   give this a decent shot [TS]

00:49:02   oh dear cut i do last thing I want is to [TS]

00:49:07   be shoehorned between repeats of a shock [TS]

00:49:09   to push our sharktopus and Birdemic but [TS]

00:49:12   with this cast that's where you end up [TS]

00:49:14   because you can't like it's hard to [TS]

00:49:16   scale for seriously but you'll take him [TS]

00:49:19   seriously my friend like oh maybe ABC [TS]

00:49:22   family [TS]

00:49:22   you can't take some out [TS]

00:49:23   seriously i would watch I would watch at [TS]

00:49:27   least the pilot and I you know that [TS]

00:49:29   would be my sort of out there show for [TS]

00:49:31   the year like all right I I don't know [TS]

00:49:32   this seems weird but you know it there's [TS]

00:49:34   something in it that's compelling that [TS]

00:49:35   would that would make me tune in for at [TS]

00:49:37   least the first episode and see how it [TS]

00:49:39   goes from there i will say that i was [TS]

00:49:41   exceedingly disappointed that the title [TS]

00:49:43   dread Zeppelin was already taken by the [TS]

00:49:46   that sounds like a sci-fi show by the [TS]

00:49:50   the mega shark vs giant octopus vs dread [TS]

00:49:54   zeppelin it's good stuff [TS]

00:49:59   alright and we're out of time tonight [TS]

00:50:01   how that's yeah all right shape Jason [TS]

00:50:03   top to top that one right [TS]

00:50:05   yeah this is going to be an anti-climax [TS]

00:50:07   boy wow alright you can always fix it in [TS]

00:50:09   post [TS]

00:50:10   alright so my show was called my show is [TS]

00:50:12   called the bridge and I do have an [TS]

00:50:14   elevator pitch which is it's uh it's the [TS]

00:50:18   west wing meet star trek so my [TS]

00:50:24   characters of course captain kirk the [TS]

00:50:26   the captain of the enterprise dr Hawkeye [TS]

00:50:30   Pierce the chief medical officer he's [TS]

00:50:32   wisecracking but his his wife's cracking [TS]

00:50:36   is punctuated by dramatic moments of [TS]

00:50:38   humanity [TS]

00:50:39   I lieutenant Willow Rosenberg is the [TS]

00:50:43   science and magic officer aboard the [TS]

00:50:46   ship [TS]

00:50:47   lieutenant Jeff Murdock is the helmsman [TS]

00:50:50   he is a single guy always seeking [TS]

00:50:53   companionship at the mess hall but he [TS]

00:50:57   sort of hapless in his attempts and they [TS]

00:50:59   usually cause more complications then [TS]

00:51:01   then he intent intends that's just a [TS]

00:51:05   fact of life for poor jeff his hapless [TS]

00:51:07   commander Thomas Magnum is the first [TS]

00:51:10   officer a veteran of the Klingon Wars [TS]

00:51:12   who clashes often with Captain Kirk on [TS]

00:51:15   who gets to go on the landing parties [TS]

00:51:18   Lieutenant Commander kaylee frye is the [TS]

00:51:21   chief engineer she is attracted to Jeff [TS]

00:51:24   Murdock but the relationship is fraught [TS]

00:51:26   with complications usually owing to his [TS]

00:51:28   mishaps with other women [TS]

00:51:30   lieutenant Jerry Seinfeld the navigator [TS]

00:51:33   he's good at his job but brings a dry up [TS]

00:51:35   observational humor about the situations [TS]

00:51:37   that the enterprise find themselves in [TS]

00:51:39   instant Veronica Mars the communications [TS]

00:51:42   officer she's young but she's very [TS]

00:51:46   bright [TS]

00:51:47   she understands what's going on she can [TS]

00:51:49   investigate things and learn more and is [TS]

00:51:51   often frustrated about the fact that she [TS]

00:51:53   only has she most of the time her job is [TS]

00:51:55   to say hailing frequencies open the [TS]

00:51:59   endlessly put-upon yeoman to Captain [TS]

00:52:00   Kirk is young man charlie brown and no [TS]

00:52:05   man around and yo man charlie brown and [TS]

00:52:09   and our last our last character is Omar [TS]

00:52:11   little a roguish free trader who [TS]

00:52:13   operates on the edge of fate Federation [TS]

00:52:15   law sometimes a hero [TS]

00:52:17   sometimes a villain usually both captain [TS]

00:52:19   kirk knows Omar is a man of his word but [TS]

00:52:21   never knows what his ulterior motives [TS]

00:52:24   are blue and here's here's your plot [TS]

00:52:27   synopsis for the pilot episode the crew [TS]

00:52:30   was called in to the briefing room in [TS]

00:52:32   the early hours of the morning after [TS]

00:52:33   news that a treaty negotiation with the [TS]

00:52:35   Andorians has broken down largely due to [TS]

00:52:38   a diplomatic incident caused by a [TS]

00:52:40   blender on the part of commander magnum [TS]

00:52:42   the previous night on Space Station k-7 [TS]

00:52:45   the staff attempts to run damage control [TS]

00:52:47   with Federation HQ [TS]

00:52:48   meanwhile lieutenant Jeff Murdock [TS]

00:52:50   discovers that the woman he slept with [TS]

00:52:52   the previous night was in fact a Klingon [TS]

00:52:54   spy in disguise the fact discovered only [TS]

00:52:57   thanks to a chance encounter with a [TS]

00:52:58   triple purchased by Lieutenant Commander [TS]

00:53:00   Kaylee at at the bar on k7 wise beyond [TS]

00:53:05   her years and veronica mars put-upon yo [TS]

00:53:07   man charlie brown and science officer [TS]

00:53:09   Willow Rosenberg our approach by Omar a [TS]

00:53:11   mysterious trader who claims to know [TS]

00:53:13   about a conspiracy to make the [TS]

00:53:15   Federation look bad in order to win a [TS]

00:53:17   vital mining contract Omar's tip causes [TS]

00:53:20   them to inadvertently caused yet more [TS]

00:53:22   damage leading to a dressing down by [TS]

00:53:24   magnum back on the enterprise when a [TS]

00:53:26   crew member is killed in a clash with [TS]

00:53:28   the discovered Klingon spy Hawkeye [TS]

00:53:30   Pierce's normal wisecracking nature [TS]

00:53:32   turns serious in the closing moments of [TS]

00:53:35   the episode he tells captain kirk about [TS]

00:53:37   the death leading Kirk and his staff to [TS]

00:53:39   appear before the council negotiating [TS]

00:53:41   the treaty and revealing how the [TS]

00:53:43   Klingons were conspiring to derail the [TS]

00:53:45   negotiations the episode ends with Kirk [TS]

00:53:47   making a joke and ever [TS]

00:53:49   one laughing now of course the first us [TS]

00:53:53   now let me explain like the west wing [TS]

00:53:55   the point here is that all Captain Kirk [TS]

00:53:57   is the center of central figure of the [TS]

00:53:59   show he's not intended to be the [TS]

00:54:00   character with the most screen time it [TS]

00:54:03   you know his heat he is at the center [TS]

00:54:05   just like President Bartlet was at the [TS]

00:54:07   center of the west wing but it's really [TS]

00:54:08   about the crew and how they relate to [TS]

00:54:09   one another and the various sort of [TS]

00:54:12   dramatic incidents in their lives as [TS]

00:54:15   well as humorous incidents it really is [TS]

00:54:17   a a kind of a combination drama and [TS]

00:54:20   comedy or drama t if you will and I [TS]

00:54:24   camel it is it is an account like with [TS]

00:54:28   one hump or something it is you could [TS]

00:54:29   also be a comma but i prefer dramedy you [TS]

00:54:34   can choose either one anyway and and i [TS]

00:54:36   think that in every episode basically [TS]

00:54:38   Hawkeye Pierce will be making a [TS]

00:54:41   wisecracking and suddenly somebody will [TS]

00:54:43   die and he'll have to be very serious or [TS]

00:54:46   burst into tears are our complete [TS]

00:54:47   nervous breakdown and you can see that [TS]

00:54:49   will have some you know interaction [TS]

00:54:50   because you know Jeff and kaylee know [TS]

00:54:52   that they really are meant to be [TS]

00:54:53   together but it always goes horribly [TS]

00:54:55   wrong and he makes terrible mistakes and [TS]

00:54:57   and you know magnum insist on going in [TS]

00:55:00   the shuttlecraft and Captain Kirk wants [TS]

00:55:01   to drive the shuttlecraft himself [TS]

00:55:03   there's a lot of fighting about that and [TS]

00:55:05   all the time never stop and ask for [TS]

00:55:06   direction all the time Jerry Seinfeld [TS]

00:55:08   it's just like you know pushing buttons [TS]

00:55:10   at the console on the bridge was a who [TS]

00:55:12   is buttons doing [TS]

00:55:13   hey that's why did the endorians have [TS]

00:55:15   those antennae they're not bugs they're [TS]

00:55:16   just like great guys what's that about [TS]

00:55:19   so that the bridge that's my show who [TS]

00:55:22   all these Andorians I just love the idea [TS]

00:55:24   of the interactions between a dejected [TS]

00:55:26   Jeff Murdock and put-upon yeoman Charlie [TS]

00:55:29   Brown seems like a perfect combo a child [TS]

00:55:32   asked friends short shrift in the pilot [TS]

00:55:34   but Charlie as as the you know the [TS]

00:55:37   right-hand man to the president I mean [TS]

00:55:39   captain charlie charlie [TS]

00:55:43   he's he's good grief you know is it's [TS]

00:55:45   gonna be his most common on the [TS]

00:55:47   catchphrase but uh you know it's a tough [TS]

00:55:50   job it's a tough job being a the the guy [TS]

00:55:52   who's got to make everything happen for [TS]

00:55:53   Captain Kirk he's got to like clean up [TS]

00:55:55   the the captain's quarters he's got to [TS]

00:55:57   shoo away the women who are [TS]

00:55:59   or who are overstaying their welcome the [TS]

00:56:01   next morning he's gotta polish the [TS]

00:56:03   captain's Blake's take a towel on [TS]

00:56:05   yeah he's a good man charlie brown he is [TS]

00:56:07   a good man [TS]

00:56:08   it's true and whenever they line up for [TS]

00:56:10   protein tablets he ends up getting a [TS]

00:56:12   rock instead if it's true it's true also [TS]

00:56:15   that there's that episode where Veronica [TS]

00:56:17   Mars and he go on the holodeck it to [TS]

00:56:19   play some touch football and she that's [TS]

00:56:21   not right also more low horrible but oh [TS]

00:56:23   except that she snatches the ball away [TS]

00:56:25   from it the last man or whatever that [TS]

00:56:28   means [TS]

00:56:28   I don't know what that means I think [TS]

00:56:30   this is a structural problem in the [TS]

00:56:32   premise of West Wing combined with star [TS]

00:56:34   trek in the West Wing the most exciting [TS]

00:56:37   place to be was in the White House [TS]

00:56:39   because it's a place where you normally [TS]

00:56:41   don't get to see so you wanted to be in [TS]

00:56:44   there with the president with this staff [TS]

00:56:45   in the place that you don't normally get [TS]

00:56:47   to see when you're on a spaceship the [TS]

00:56:49   most exciting stuff is out the window [TS]

00:56:50   the plants you're going to the aliens [TS]

00:56:52   the space combat and if the whole show [TS]

00:56:54   is going to be like west wing it would [TS]

00:56:55   be like I'm in a spaceship but all i see [TS]

00:56:56   i keep seeing the same three corridors [TS]

00:56:58   and they're sitting in a massive looking [TS]

00:56:59   at the Stars you know what I mean it's [TS]

00:57:01   like it's like reverse what I'd say to [TS]

00:57:04   that is that is that I see your point [TS]

00:57:06   mr. executive for budgetary reasons [TS]

00:57:10   we're going to make sure that the [TS]

00:57:11   standing sets are are are good and are [TS]

00:57:13   used but if you look back to our [TS]

00:57:14   template of the original Star Trek they [TS]

00:57:16   also have away missions and although our [TS]

00:57:19   pilot is set on a space station there [TS]

00:57:21   are going to be members of the team are [TS]

00:57:22   going to go on missions they might be [TS]

00:57:24   separated they might be joined by red [TS]

00:57:26   shirts who are horribly killed which [TS]

00:57:28   will allow hot guy to have his moment of [TS]

00:57:29   reflection about man's inhumanity to [TS]

00:57:31   Klingon and at but there will be time [TS]

00:57:35   for them to adventure on their own [TS]

00:57:36   because you know the captain can't do it [TS]

00:57:38   all is 350 people on that ship is there [TS]

00:57:40   an external antagonists though because [TS]

00:57:41   like there was like the Republicans on [TS]

00:57:43   the west wing like what is the external [TS]

00:57:44   force that's well we've got the [TS]

00:57:47   geopolitical tensions of the Klingons [TS]

00:57:49   and the Romulans it was far as les plus [TS]

00:57:52   you've got the well before heads really [TS]

00:57:54   pretty much we're all the same in the [TS]

00:57:56   original Star Trek stuff anyway with the [TS]

00:57:58   the but then there's omar and omar is [TS]

00:58:01   more of a a a paralyzer sort of [TS]

00:58:04   character agent he's a free agent and [TS]

00:58:05   mysterious and he may he and Kirk have a [TS]

00:58:08   little back-and-forth about should I [TS]

00:58:10   trust him or not and sometimes he's [TS]

00:58:11   trustworthy but you never know [TS]

00:58:12   he's coming from so you've got both [TS]

00:58:14   you've got the both the large [TS]

00:58:15   geopolitical ramifications in this sort [TS]

00:58:17   of like inter personal antagonism [TS]

00:58:19   between omar and the captain at home are [TS]

00:58:22   beyond every episode [TS]

00:58:24   Omar is the plan is decide him to be [TS]

00:58:27   recurring so in a in a 22-episode season [TS]

00:58:30   he probably appear 12 13 times but we [TS]

00:58:33   would like to have an option to make him [TS]

00:58:35   a series regular after the first season [TS]

00:58:37   if he is a successful because i think [TS]

00:58:39   the real tension should be a tomar [TS]

00:58:41   somehow becomes part of the crew he's [TS]

00:58:43   drafted perhaps yeah and and then our [TS]

00:58:45   tender [TS]

00:58:46   yeah it's it's possible I yes and uh I [TS]

00:58:50   want to discussing this premise with my [TS]

00:58:52   wife she suggested that he could be in [TS]

00:58:53   ten-forward my said that that's the [TS]

00:58:55   wrong show [TS]

00:58:56   and her response was well then nine [TS]

00:58:58   forward to serving the old enterprise [TS]

00:59:00   more likely use it happen forward for [TS]

00:59:02   just a few fewer forwards anyway [TS]

00:59:05   yes Omar Omar's secrets will be revealed [TS]

00:59:08   an end and I haven't decided yet whether [TS]

00:59:10   he's actually a federation agent or a [TS]

00:59:13   Klingon into the eyes or both or triple [TS]

00:59:16   I i'm scott i would have to go with [TS]

00:59:19   Scott that I think I think needs more [TS]

00:59:21   Omar is probably the top of my list and [TS]

00:59:24   got any of it and then we're gonna wear [TS]

00:59:26   my suggestion for a title needs more [TS]

00:59:27   homework these are Omar yeah that's [TS]

00:59:29   actually i think what we like for me it [TS]

00:59:31   would be like oh I'm intrigued by this [TS]

00:59:33   as a show but i would I feel like maybe [TS]

00:59:34   i might be you would have to work hard [TS]

00:59:37   to keep me interested if say for example [TS]

00:59:40   the pilot you know Omar plays a major [TS]

00:59:41   part baby and you know episode to you [TS]

00:59:43   got to do that thing where like are we [TS]

00:59:44   had established not just about this [TS]

00:59:46   right other places you might lose me a [TS]

00:59:48   little bit as I think what about Omar [TS]

00:59:50   like what happened with him [TS]

00:59:51   well Omar wasn't in every episode of the [TS]

00:59:52   wire you know they they were careful [TS]

00:59:54   with their use of Omar in the wire as [TS]

00:59:56   well this is true but I mean he sounds [TS]

00:59:58   to me like the most you know I think he [TS]

00:59:59   would be [TS]

00:59:59   would be [TS]

01:00:00   the personality might be most intrigued [TS]

01:00:01   with his relationship with kirk and how [TS]

01:00:03   that's going to play out are we kidding [TS]

01:00:04   by the third season he's going to be [TS]

01:00:06   like the Fonz it's gonna be the omar [TS]

01:00:07   show guest star in Cathy's gonna ride a [TS]

01:00:09   motorcycle over ash over a space sharks [TS]

01:00:11   pace chart [TS]

01:00:12   yes Klingon shark a triple shark shark [TS]

01:00:15   made entirely of trouble [TS]

01:00:17   alright so that's that's Maya that's my [TS]

01:00:19   promise i think i think we have to we [TS]

01:00:21   should all we should pick which which [TS]

01:00:22   networks everybody's shows are most [TS]

01:00:26   likely to error because i think i think [TS]

01:00:29   i've heard you say so myself [TS]

01:00:30   I've made a perfect CW show fifth-degree [TS]

01:00:33   yes I i know my limits after after much [TS]

01:00:37   research you have come to the perfect CW [TS]

01:00:40   show lightning bug is is a would be a [TS]

01:00:43   sci-fi channel show but it doesn't have [TS]

01:00:45   the budget so it's gonna have to be a [TS]

01:00:46   fox show in the handset fox and cancel [TS]

01:00:48   get yours would be sci-fi thank you i [TS]

01:00:49   think you could pull yours off on syfy [TS]

01:00:51   Jason you know i think i got for NBC I [TS]

01:00:54   get CNBC I could CNBC's like we need [TS]

01:00:56   some drama we need we need an hour-long [TS]

01:00:57   I could I could definitely buy it on NBC [TS]

01:01:01   Scott McNulty show is on CBS yes yes it [TS]

01:01:05   is and and 30 years ago and I think I [TS]

01:01:08   think run show is is maybe ABC I think [TS]

01:01:11   ABC might might go for like we've all [TS]

01:01:13   lost [TS]

01:01:14   yep we gotta follow that up with [TS]

01:01:15   something intriguing i have to be [TS]

01:01:17   another flash forward that text is a [TS]

01:01:20   threat flash for whatever network that [TS]

01:01:21   was that's our show [TS]

01:01:23   yeah yeah and Steve Steve show again [TS]

01:01:25   yeah I think that's a I think that's [TS]

01:01:27   premium cable i think that's at HBO HBO [TS]

01:01:30   pays for a season and then maybe cancels [TS]

01:01:32   it was gonna say cinemas stars neurology [TS]

01:01:36   hour or sign maybe stars no stars [TS]

01:01:40   enforce a file that much though as long [TS]

01:01:43   as could be on FX [TS]

01:01:44   it's got a FX vibe ah effects doesn't [TS]

01:01:47   decide Father well not yet [TS]

01:01:48   FX is a little too serious aspect does [TS]

01:01:50   anything they want to do they haven't [TS]

01:01:52   heard this podcast I'm thinking HBO [TS]

01:01:55   because then we can explore the [TS]

01:01:56   passionate romance between Larry dallas [TS]

01:01:58   and the puppet cat [TS]

01:02:00   yeah mhm and the poop scooping I think [TS]

01:02:03   HBO maybe the only people brave enough [TS]

01:02:05   to touch this show and scary [TS]

01:02:08   that's the rest of them were cowards [TS]

01:02:09   that's why this through this is here if [TS]

01:02:11   they don't want to push the envelope [TS]

01:02:13   as they don't know where that envelope [TS]

01:02:14   has been no really what's it [TS]

01:02:16   it could be anywhere some of some of the [TS]

01:02:20   cat puppets poop right now time for [TS]

01:02:23   Glenn fleischmann ship which will be a [TS]

01:02:27   BBC summer thats i'm already watching it [TS]

01:02:32   then through the magic of of portal [TS]

01:02:37   through time and space we're now joined [TS]

01:02:39   who by glenn fleischmann who has left [TS]

01:02:41   his isolation booth and Glenn you you [TS]

01:02:45   weren't you're responsible for this [TS]

01:02:47   entire sham of a travesty and yet didn't [TS]

01:02:50   actually participate no draft so we gave [TS]

01:02:52   you a team [TS]

01:02:53   yes yes you did so let me recap now you [TS]

01:02:56   you're gonna make some swaps since this [TS]

01:02:58   was an auto pick team where we force [TS]

01:03:00   characters on to you let me recap the [TS]

01:03:01   characters that we gave you [TS]

01:03:03   we gave you Kara Thrace starbucks from [TS]

01:03:04   battlestar galactica walks on a Troy [TS]

01:03:06   from Star Trek The Next Generation Chuck [TS]

01:03:09   girl named Chuck from pushing daisies [TS]

01:03:11   circle himself from family matters [TS]

01:03:14   Becca Valentine from gene roddenberry's [TS]

01:03:16   Andromeda Jack Donaghy from 30 rock [TS]

01:03:18   Gumby animated or centered in that life [TS]

01:03:21   your choice [TS]

01:03:22   ba Baracus from the a-team Daniel [TS]

01:03:25   Faraday from lost and Jimmy McNulty for [TS]

01:03:27   the wire now what you're going to make [TS]

01:03:28   some alterations is that right I [TS]

01:03:30   actually thought this is a pretty good [TS]

01:03:32   team i was i was not upset about the [TS]

01:03:35   choices you made [TS]

01:03:36   although I realize you are trying to [TS]

01:03:37   make it hard for me but I'm going to [TS]

01:03:39   defeat you [TS]

01:03:39   so for i'm going to swaps so for Daniel [TS]

01:03:43   Faraday there watch lost i'm taking [TS]

01:03:45   Holly the computer from red dwarf ok [TS]

01:03:48   the male the male version and then [TS]

01:03:50   instead of care three since I never [TS]

01:03:51   watch battlestar galactica to my shame [TS]

01:03:53   i'm taking gadget hack wrench from chip [TS]

01:03:55   n dale rescue [TS]

01:03:56   right which is surprised no one they are [TS]

01:04:01   synonymous [TS]

01:04:02   I gave Jason was on the ball here he [TS]

01:04:04   would have had the respirators the [TS]

01:04:06   gadget patterns was on my list could [TS]

01:04:08   pick I figured I think she's on [TS]

01:04:10   everybody's list of it or not [TS]

01:04:12   alright so so was her for halloween [TS]

01:04:14   those with those alterations and it is [TS]

01:04:19   good list although I regret in listening [TS]

01:04:20   back to the to the draft Steve let's try [TS]

01:04:23   to give you less nessman from wkrp in [TS]

01:04:25   cincinnati i would take the management i [TS]

01:04:27   really regret not giving you less [TS]

01:04:28   management ok so in whatever and [TS]

01:04:30   whatever show less decimals and he would [TS]

01:04:31   be operating a helicopter yes yes God is [TS]

01:04:34   my witness I thought turkeys could fly [TS]

01:04:36   so Glenn lay it on us give us your give [TS]

01:04:40   us your pitch [TS]

01:04:41   ok I don't the name for this show [TS]

01:04:44   strangely it's the one thing you didn't [TS]

01:04:45   pick up until this moment with you guys [TS]

01:04:46   will give you anything so all right so [TS]

01:04:48   here's the pitch here's the pitch not [TS]

01:04:50   the pilot the pitch ba Baracus runs a [TS]

01:04:52   junkyard didn't see that coming right [TS]

01:04:54   with his nephew Urkel VA runs the [TS]

01:04:56   junkyard side and Urkel runs the [TS]

01:04:58   electronics recycling part and oracle of [TS]

01:05:01   course regularly actually turns off the [TS]

01:05:04   yards giant electromagnetic thing that [TS]

01:05:06   pulls up cars and stuff it causes tons [TS]

01:05:08   of broken metal to fall into bjs [TS]

01:05:10   favorite muscle car he says did i do [TS]

01:05:12   that so we have the catchphrase right [TS]

01:05:16   fortunately gadget who appears as an [TS]

01:05:19   animated mouse in the show is always [TS]

01:05:21   available to repair the car even when [TS]

01:05:22   it's been disintegrated two component [TS]

01:05:24   atoms gadget is motion-capture CGI and [TS]

01:05:28   she's as large as the rest of the cast [TS]

01:05:29   mates this is not really explained she's [TS]

01:05:31   played by any circuit of course circus [TS]

01:05:33   of course the capture it's just a you [TS]

01:05:35   know the only one in the Union [TS]

01:05:37   apparently there's a very small it's got [TS]

01:05:39   a great gig so here's the gag it's not a [TS]

01:05:41   regular junkyard it's a junkyard in the [TS]

01:05:43   future it's a space ish junkyard on [TS]

01:05:46   earth so it's all broken hover cards [TS]

01:05:48   discarded 400 in splash displays and [TS]

01:05:51   it's called the Gumby junkyard because [TS]

01:05:53   in the future everything is nostalgic [TS]

01:05:55   and it's a bow ironic 25th century [TS]

01:05:57   tribute to Gumby damn it where cartoon [TS]

01:06:00   characters can roam freely among the [TS]

01:06:02   real people using hardlight holographic [TS]

01:06:04   hardware that's a red dwarf and a you [TS]

01:06:07   know Star Trek Voyager reference Gumby [TS]

01:06:09   appears in that form [TS]

01:06:12   he's a hard light heart holograph to [TS]

01:06:14   welcome customers but they made an error [TS]

01:06:16   in research they made him the eddie [TS]

01:06:17   murphy Gumby instead of the insipid [TS]

01:06:19   claymation Gumby I he and you also [TS]

01:06:21   provides the narration for the show of [TS]

01:06:22   course so so boss Jack Jack Donaghy who [TS]

01:06:26   owns the junkyard isn't having any of [TS]

01:06:28   that you know what that is [TS]

01:06:30   he's not having any of that he lost his [TS]

01:06:32   fortune playing cards with three are man [TS]

01:06:34   who was cheating [TS]

01:06:35   he's always chomping on an electronic [TS]

01:06:37   cigar and saying his trademark phrase [TS]

01:06:38   one of these days to the moon because [TS]

01:06:41   he's secretly working on a spaceship [TS]

01:06:43   made of junk that will take into the [TS]

01:06:45   moon [TS]

01:06:46   I his wife likes a Detroit has a [TS]

01:06:48   mysterious past and drives everyone [TS]

01:06:50   crazy by discussing their innermost [TS]

01:06:51   secrets without them first having [TS]

01:06:53   disclose them [TS]

01:06:54   she's secretly having an affair with [TS]

01:06:55   circle because they are the two most [TS]

01:06:57   equally matched irritating characters in [TS]

01:06:59   all of television i would challenge you [TS]

01:07:02   except for family ties third season [TS]

01:07:05   neighbor next door character might be he [TS]

01:07:07   should be on this show as well but not [TS]

01:07:08   like a security officer I know next [TS]

01:07:11   draft contract something security [TS]

01:07:12   officer Beckett that Valentine [TS]

01:07:14   hard-as-nails fast as lightning has an [TS]

01:07:16   appt see habit of dropping dripping lime [TS]

01:07:18   juice into her eyes just for the thrill [TS]

01:07:20   of it she can't stand gadget she's every [TS]

01:07:23   chance he has to cut her down gadget is [TS]

01:07:25   oddly oblivious and she also rarely [TS]

01:07:27   blinks part of your character Valentine [TS]

01:07:30   blows off steam with her body Chuck who [TS]

01:07:31   despite having the dad is rather [TS]

01:07:33   charming helps her rundown problems of [TS]

01:07:35   course and all the Valentine's [TS]

01:07:37   co-workers assume the two of them are [TS]

01:07:38   lovers because need that in modern shows [TS]

01:07:40   apparently Valentine relies on a salvage [TS]

01:07:42   mining ship ki holi to monitor the [TS]

01:07:45   grounds but holly is a very bright so [TS]

01:07:47   things are always happening because you [TS]

01:07:48   know it's a show things are happening [TS]

01:07:49   and finally Jimmy McNulty is a detective [TS]

01:07:52   busted for his back attitude bad [TS]

01:07:53   attitude back to walking a beat he stops [TS]

01:07:56   by to run down leads and sleep off his [TS]

01:07:57   bad memories [TS]

01:07:58   he's also there to try to make time with [TS]

01:08:00   gadget who doesn't understand expanses [TS]

01:08:01   logically enough since he's a cartoon [TS]

01:08:03   mouse but she keeps the Taser handy just [TS]

01:08:05   in case that's my concept so so it's a [TS]

01:08:09   drama it so maybe it's a drama comedy [TS]

01:08:12   camel Dottie it is it is Sanford and Son [TS]

01:08:15   in the 20 it is Sanford and Son model as [TS]

01:08:19   we go BA and circle it would be or [TS]

01:08:22   variety hour [TS]

01:08:23   what's goodie could you know it's [TS]

01:08:25   because you can bring cartoon characters [TS]

01:08:27   and other extinct being so you might [TS]

01:08:30   have got it'sit's I ain't gettin on no [TS]

01:08:33   plane parentheses of exemptions it's a [TS]

01:08:37   Lincoln dunno pretty starship airplane [TS]

01:08:41   wow it's um Jefferson yeah so I could [TS]

01:08:44   push the pilot now you're ready for the [TS]

01:08:45   pilot oh there's more oh there's the [TS]

01:08:48   privilege because that was a pitch that [TS]

01:08:50   was just the concept that Sarah Connor [TS]

01:08:51   can apply it was the elevator pitch but [TS]

01:08:54   it's a really long elevator ride [TS]

01:08:56   alright the elevator is broken down i [TS]

01:08:58   got i got a pilot but I want to pitch it [TS]

01:09:00   i can now i can take I want to hear pick [TS]

01:09:03   this sucker alright so the episode opens [TS]

01:09:05   voices it so you know longshot you don't [TS]

01:09:08   see anybody starts up and there's our [TS]

01:09:10   voices arguing one deep and one [TS]

01:09:12   high-pitched and grading and you move [TS]

01:09:15   through all this junk it starts with old [TS]

01:09:17   you know [TS]

01:09:17   Chrysler's and things and it starts [TS]

01:09:19   getting more and more modern equipment [TS]

01:09:20   as they pass through and finally you see [TS]

01:09:22   ba Baracus argue with oracle / hovercar [TS]

01:09:25   flux capacitors that were stolen [TS]

01:09:28   he was ready to get rid of them he [TS]

01:09:30   thinks the circles taking them and sold [TS]

01:09:31   the matter is under his nose I don't [TS]

01:09:34   know what you're talking about mr. [TS]

01:09:35   Baracus and then Donaghy person stop [TS]

01:09:37   your yappin we have a shipment of 10 [TS]

01:09:39   million blackberry playbook stew process [TS]

01:09:41   for the unobtanium that the Canadians [TS]

01:09:44   actually baked into the cpu Canadians to [TS]

01:09:47   the moon and you leave so we go in [TS]

01:09:51   another scene as it goes are you going [TS]

01:09:53   to have got more important now I can [TS]

01:09:55   just do i can just to shower and here i [TS]

01:09:57   wish we were on a hangout so you can see [TS]

01:09:59   me cracking up with me because I know he [TS]

01:10:03   has the entire thing written really does [TS]

01:10:04   script is available on request now it's [TS]

01:10:07   just a apartment so the episode [TS]

01:10:09   progresses more and more things get [TS]

01:10:10   stolen [TS]

01:10:11   Becca starts investigating Jimmy tries [TS]

01:10:13   to help out gadget suspected she calls [TS]

01:10:15   and guest stars Chip and Dale of course [TS]

01:10:17   and they show up they mostly knock over [TS]

01:10:19   things they don't really but you know [TS]

01:10:21   you need for comic relief because it's a [TS]

01:10:22   dramedy or a comma or something like [TS]

01:10:25   that [TS]

01:10:25   finally turns out that gumbys [TS]

01:10:26   responsible as programming so erratic he [TS]

01:10:28   thought he was supposed to be running a [TS]

01:10:29   black-market operation to to keep things [TS]

01:10:32   lively and [TS]

01:10:35   there's great happy reconciliation yeah [TS]

01:10:38   alright that's the pilot so it is a [TS]

01:10:40   sitcom then definitely sort of shirt on [TS]

01:10:42   camera [TS]

01:10:43   no one dies but uh you know yet but with [TS]

01:10:46   a laugh track right piped-in that's why [TS]

01:10:49   I think any thoughts for me uh from the [TS]

01:10:52   audience about this 1i I like the [TS]

01:10:56   mismatch and i like i like a like blends [TS]

01:10:58   Alec Baldwin impression i actually think [TS]

01:11:00   that myself for me I quite like lens [TS]

01:11:02   Alec Baldwin impression agree to the [TS]

01:11:04   moon shoes like literally Kramden Ralph [TS]

01:11:08   Baldwin I was ready for the locks on the [TS]

01:11:10   trip little future on wed doesn't do [TS]

01:11:12   walks on the troy i think there are not [TS]

01:11:15   enough sigh comedies in the world so [TS]

01:11:17   especially with mr. t what does anyone [TS]

01:11:21   remember me [TS]

01:11:22   guys who ran the junkyard the andy [TS]

01:11:23   griffith show in which you want to jump [TS]

01:11:25   her obvious 12 [TS]

01:11:26   yes yes no yes but none of us remember [TS]

01:11:30   it [TS]

01:11:31   that was my inspiration resolving a [TS]

01:11:34   rocket yeah they were building Ronnie [TS]

01:11:36   when they go to the moon to salvage [TS]

01:11:38   stuff I just haha it was nearly as good [TS]

01:11:40   as way out space nuts with papa john [TS]

01:11:43   denver the only way you could have made [TS]

01:11:46   this better was incorporating some kind [TS]

01:11:48   of see like one of the characters a [TS]

01:11:50   secret artists all of the iron giant [TS]

01:11:52   because that's what I always think of [TS]

01:11:53   when I think of giant junkyard some [TS]

01:11:55   gadget be doing that the spare time you [TS]

01:11:58   think that she's all business and just [TS]

01:11:59   makes ridiculous gadgets don't work but [TS]

01:12:01   their spare time she's sculpting in the [TS]

01:12:03   back 40 or maybe check yeah cos is a [TS]

01:12:06   sensitive person who's building yeah I [TS]

01:12:08   thought use a little underutilized yeah [TS]

01:12:10   it's true [TS]

01:12:11   later episodes that nothing left [TS]

01:12:15   yeah how many episodes do we give this [TS]

01:12:18   show all room for chipper debt eight [TS]

01:12:20   chippendale we have to get the amino [TS]

01:12:23   emotional romantic resolution with chip [TS]

01:12:25   and dale also because you know all right [TS]

01:12:28   are they lovers they have a very sexual [TS]

01:12:31   characteristics no one knows is there is [TS]

01:12:33   there that'll be that's a great part of [TS]

01:12:35   the pitch by the way [TS]

01:12:36   yeah i'll pass now propose that to get [TS]

01:12:39   executives yes mystery of the primary [TS]

01:12:42   sexual eight arrested great you know [TS]

01:12:43   Greg bunny made that acceptable right [TS]

01:12:45   when it [TS]

01:12:47   adjustable Greg the bunny went on to [TS]

01:12:48   great success and that's it did this all [TS]

01:12:51   right thank you for listening to my [TS]

01:12:53   pitch and thank you for stepping through [TS]

01:12:55   your portal in space-time to pitch it to [TS]

01:12:56   Angie thank you [TS]

01:12:59   alright so so yeah with the this [TS]

01:13:04   happened so what does never do almost [TS]

01:13:05   everything gets the chance never did it [TS]

01:13:09   happen i'm not sure if it happened so we [TS]

01:13:11   learned sports analogies don't worry we [TS]

01:13:13   have any listeners left after the [TS]

01:13:15   deposition I was entertained you know I [TS]

01:13:17   I thought it was a I thought it was a [TS]

01:13:19   fascinating exercise and in complete [TS]

01:13:21   insanity and white why does sports fans [TS]

01:13:24   have all the fun you know TV fans gonna [TS]

01:13:26   have fun to have a winner let's vote for [TS]

01:13:28   our favorite show [TS]

01:13:29   alright okay yea vote for your on how do [TS]

01:13:31   you do this ok everybody remind [TS]

01:13:34   everybody send me a skype a semi skype [TS]

01:13:37   message right now you know a little [TS]

01:13:39   skype by instant message with your vote [TS]

01:13:41   and it'll be secret ballot to figure out [TS]

01:13:43   how to do that [TS]

01:13:44   oh alright it's a tie [TS]

01:13:49   that's high nobody is so so I'm going to [TS]

01:13:54   hold on a second i'm gonna i'm gonna do [TS]

01:13:56   a tiebreaker who those are the finalists [TS]

01:14:00   yes please the fate of the universe is [TS]

01:14:03   instead is in Jon's hands [TS]

01:14:05   I can't believe that says but I there [TS]

01:14:07   you go alright that seems dangerous [TS]

01:14:09   ladies and gentlemen we have a winner [TS]

01:14:11   tabulated I by the law office of my [TS]

01:14:17   shirts & Young came by and they said [TS]

01:14:21   these are terrible ideas but the winner [TS]

01:14:23   is Steve lots [TS]

01:14:24   thank you saying congratulations Adam [TS]

01:14:26   Henrique for me I I knew my strategy of [TS]

01:14:30   putting you all the sleep so that you [TS]

01:14:31   would not answer are asked questions and [TS]

01:14:33   expose the gaping plot holes with that [TS]

01:14:35   would be a wooden actually any show with [TS]

01:14:38   an omnipotent character who's [TS]

01:14:40   controlling the fabric of reality you [TS]

01:14:42   have no plot holes [TS]

01:14:44   this is true Anthony just made it that [TS]

01:14:46   way sorry I think there have to be [TS]

01:14:48   limits though or else it's just [TS]

01:14:49   ridiculous [TS]

01:14:50   well that's why that's why I voted for [TS]

01:14:52   is in the in the final showdown thing [TS]

01:14:54   here was it wasn't my original vote [TS]

01:14:55   definitely was because Nicholas [TS]

01:14:59   character [TS]

01:14:59   choices like the only way I think you [TS]

01:15:01   can make them work is if it's built into [TS]

01:15:03   the premises your show that insane [TS]

01:15:05   ridiculous things are gonna like so he's [TS]

01:15:07   got an excuse in other words first thing [TS]

01:15:09   all tour to be there and for the reacts [TS]

01:15:10   with all that crazy stuff where's Jason [TS]

01:15:12   was trying to make a conventional show [TS]

01:15:13   with Charlie Brown and a couple of [TS]

01:15:16   people who don't fit my originals for [TS]

01:15:18   rent but yes this is why I had to pick [TS]

01:15:20   Anthony fremont first and suffer the [TS]

01:15:23   slings and everyone else when I felt [TS]

01:15:24   like guys I understand that that's not [TS]

01:15:26   matter what you pick them no one else [TS]

01:15:28   was like a puppy but what if somebody [TS]

01:15:29   had not been completely screwed I can't [TS]

01:15:31   believe me I think you people have a [TS]

01:15:33   bias against sitcoms and maybe possibly [TS]

01:15:37   my shows a moneymaker mine is a sick up [TS]

01:15:40   did you miss that I like your present [TS]

01:15:42   that's what's gonna happen you know if [TS]

01:15:44   it all these other shows are gonna be [TS]

01:15:45   cancelled them and then after five years [TS]

01:15:47   were going to say what Q conquers all is [TS]

01:15:49   still on the air [TS]

01:15:50   second many not really here and Scott [TS]

01:15:54   will will like literally be wearing a [TS]

01:15:56   different Hawaiian shirt every hour that [TS]

01:15:58   they actually replaced q in season three [TS]

01:16:01   with ashton kutcher or decorate it was [TS]

01:16:04   fine [TS]

01:16:05   he's a down-on-his-luck billionaire by [TS]

01:16:07   night omnipotence my day no one really [TS]

01:16:10   noticed we replaced him with Anthony [TS]

01:16:12   when that show was canceled [TS]

01:16:13   haha nice pickup so now i have to ask [TS]

01:16:17   what if we learned i'm going to the [TS]

01:16:21   never do this again [TS]

01:16:24   well we've learned that we have way too [TS]

01:16:26   much time on our hands yes yes network [TS]

01:16:29   executives are idiots [TS]

01:16:30   clearly we are we're idiots also [TS]

01:16:33   triggers yes never do so for nothing [TS]

01:16:36   learn you've said so that was that I [TS]

01:16:37   think that's changed squandered the [TS]

01:16:39   goodwill of a number of otherwise [TS]

01:16:42   pleasant listeners yes listener now had [TS]

01:16:46   to be done [TS]

01:16:46   yeah it was it was necessary actually [TS]

01:16:50   i'll see you next week guys [TS]

01:16:51   ya next week we could we could run our [TS]

01:16:53   own television network of all the shows [TS]

01:16:56   on that one network [TS]

01:16:58   yeah only behind time machine di yeah [TS]

01:17:02   yes we would need a time machine yes if [TS]

01:17:04   we had a time machine we would end the [TS]

01:17:06   multi-millionaire order to get [TS]

01:17:08   everything i do about it [TS]

01:17:10   there's your premise for a new TV show [TS]

01:17:12   right there and with your friends over [TS]

01:17:15   time machine what's the first thing we [TS]

01:17:16   do they started TV network that's [TS]

01:17:19   resulting in that call the alacrity [TS]

01:17:21   night and then the fun British they're [TS]

01:17:22   dancing with vacuum cleaner wackiness [TS]

01:17:24   ensues [TS]

01:17:25   that's right the register is Dancing [TS]

01:17:28   with the Stars and vacuum cleaners who [TS]

01:17:30   see time machine and all things are [TS]

01:17:33   possible [TS]

01:17:34   it's true they made hot tub time machine [TS]

01:17:36   right I would root for the antagonist of [TS]

01:17:38   that show who is trying to get the time [TS]

01:17:39   machine away from the moon and [TS]

01:17:40   everything is normal [TS]

01:17:41   haha shut down the network yeah alright [TS]

01:17:44   yeah well that that wraps up this [TS]

01:17:47   ridiculous thing that we tried this [TS]

01:17:48   podcast is over and so before we go I [TS]

01:17:51   want to say thank you to come I guess [TS]

01:17:54   one last time before they commit ritual [TS]

01:17:56   suicide i think the showrunner of [TS]

01:18:01   lightning bug John syracuse oh thank you [TS]

01:18:03   for for participating in this in this [TS]

01:18:05   exercise and taking it seriously sort of [TS]

01:18:09   to a point i was on the show Jason you [TS]

01:18:12   have all the shows you've been on this [TS]

01:18:13   was one of them [TS]

01:18:14   Scott McNulty showrunner of Q conquers [TS]

01:18:17   all [TS]

01:18:18   what's the secret to your success i just [TS]

01:18:20   got an email from chuck lorre he's going [TS]

01:18:22   to produce my show so screams well [TS]

01:18:24   alright fair enough Dan more'n producer [TS]

01:18:27   of bloody yes that was the working title [TS]

01:18:30   the TV critics loved that because they [TS]

01:18:32   can say things like bloody awful so [TS]

01:18:34   that's the same old only in Britain yeah [TS]

01:18:37   trust me I've got I've got 20 more [TS]

01:18:38   potential titles will do that after in [TS]

01:18:40   the the after [TS]

01:18:41   oh I can't wait for that oh they're good [TS]

01:18:44   trust me all right Steve let's our [TS]

01:18:46   winner tonight and the showrunner and [TS]

01:19:09   was a good idea to thank you well thank [TS]

01:19:11   you know it is littered with bad ideas [TS]

01:19:14   and this was a good way [TS]

01:19:16   it was fun to create a good mediocre [TS]

01:19:18   idea and I that we would be remiss if we [TS]

01:19:22   didn't also cite Glenn Fleischman [TS]

01:19:24   who was the guy who thought we should do [TS]

01:19:26   this and then didn't ever do it he may [TS]

01:19:28   be the smartest of assault yes I curse [TS]

01:19:30   jam [TS]

01:19:31   andrew is all yes Yesi outwitted us and [TS]

01:19:35   now only shelter my repeller of [TS]

01:19:38   audiences and replied guess she's [TS]

01:19:40   meditating somewhere and breathing [TS]

01:19:41   deeply I think I can hear him from [TS]

01:19:44   hearing so all right we all should join [TS]

01:20:33   not [TS]

01:20:33   alright so I've got several I just kept [TS]

01:20:36   shouting stuff down whenever I thought [TS]

01:20:37   stuff most of these are very bad puns as [TS]

01:20:40   you as you realize we got here we got [TS]

01:20:43   bang you [TS]

01:20:45   thanks for nothing thanks but no thanks [TS]

01:20:51   that's it up and come with me over this [TS]

01:20:53   guy who the bloody minded this one I [TS]

01:20:57   thought my work better as a episode [TS]
